WM2003SE..ExtRom Version: appear empty and lost camera..etc - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

i upgraded my XdaII WM2003 to WM2003SE...ExtRom Version: appear empty and lost camera, acrobat reader, photo viewer and etc....??? why?? i need helper

Youhave to install Ext ROM for WM2003SE too.
Camera will work only when you install Camera---.cab that isin Ext ROM.
So you have to search for Ext ROM.
I recommend the one in Sin merged ROM.
Use search for "Sin merged ROM". It will need time to read but I guarantee that you will satisfy with it.
If you still hav any problem, you can post itand I will comeback to see your problems.
Sincerely,

How to install programmes in extended rom

Hi
I have recently bought xda2 but am unsure how to install programmes in extended rom. Everytime I install they seem to take space of ram memory.
I had an xda 1 before which doesnt have the extended rom option. What is the advantage of installing to extended rom?
Regards,
Ghaffar.
ExtendedROM is space reserved for "things" that need to be run after Hard Reset.
You cant install INTO Extended ROM (well not exactly true, but it would be a waist of it)
You can install FROM Extended ROM (into main memory, storage or sd card)
Use the ExtROMTools foundon this forum to get access to the Extended ROM. (but be careful)
Where can I find EXTRomTool
Hi
I have searched hi and low in this forum but yet am unable to find the link to EXTRomTool for imate, xda2.
Can you give me the link and if possible a link to its tutorial as well.
Regards,
Ghaffar.

Can't install application suite

I have just upgraded from 1.60 to 1.72.00WWE. I have done a restore of my old backup, but cannot install the app suite. The exe file runs, but the XDAII says thet the ROM is not the correct version!! so doesn't install.
On looking at the device information it says
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM Date: 03/15/04
Radio Version: 1.17.00
Protocol version: 1337.28
ExtROM version: 1.60.50
I am concerned about that last entry as I was expecting 1.72.187 (I don't have the BlackBerry.
Any help or advice on what needs to be done would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks
probably your restore has overwritten the registry
Thanks. I re installed ROM and apps installed ok.
This just means I now have to install all my apps, set up ms reader, and other apps. Looks like I am going to be up all night
Does anyone have a better way of upgrading the ROM and restoring all apps from backup?
Regards
Hi folks,
I pretty much have the same setup except the ExtROM being 1.72.181, i.e. with blackberry. When I try to install the applications from the applications suite I get a strange error saying, please check you ROM, upgrade and try again.
I am surprised since this is supposedly the latest ROM available. (1.72.00WWE)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!
Lakshman
Did you do a restore after upgrading? This seems to update the ExtRom to your old version and therefore stopping the app suite to load. I am now only just getting my xda back to normal with all the apps I had installed (must organize myself better and put them in one place :x)
Regards
flintanis,
I re-installed all the apps afresh. In spite of this I am not able to install the applications in the suite. :-(
Cheers!
Lakshman
lakshman_mn what ROM versions does your Device Information give? If the ExtRom is not 1.72.181 (or .187) then the app suite wont install.
There is another thread where DCS suggests updating the ExtRom version in the registry, but not sure if that works and also putting the actual apps suite cab in the ExtROM and executing them from there.

No camera after upgrading O2 XDA II to 2.2007.

Pls help me!
After i upgrade my O2 2 to ROM 2.20.07, i can not use camera.
I didn't upgrade, but I can't use the camera either since Xmas! I get the message" unable to save captured image. 36001:500:10 Unable to get data from camera device"
Please help me either!
which ROM you using?
There's probably no extended rom installed. the translated 2.20.07 from this site is only radio and OS rom. No extended rom. Install camera and other stuff you want in ext rom manually
My ROM is 1.66.00WWE
I also have problems with the flight mode that now can't be selected by tapping on the antenna logo and with the blutooth that doesn't work any more...
Please help!

hey pleun,
there were some boxes character on some of the folders right? or do you already have the full version with English translated? Even on the "connection" some of the menu on the drop down is in box characters. Thought I'd prefer to wait for its full blow out and plunge into it
Yes there still are some boxes here and there but they don't bother me. I deleted most of them anyway
After a soft reset the camera is back, but I still can't send text (SMS) messages....
Any suggestions?
Cheers
no camara after upgrade
how do you install extended rom manually?

Getting Stock to Custom

Hello Guys,
I am pretty much new to Android here (Used to be a Windows Mobile user), although I am starting to read and learn more about it. I felt so happy to be out of the Microsoft Mobile spell, it was horrible and the software just lives in the world of its own, it lags at almost anything and in short, it just cant work.
Alright, so I got my Hero 2 weeks back and I wanted to know a few things, which I hope you can help me with it.
- I have about 60 over applications on my SD card, and I wish to use the MoDaCo ROM, How am I able to backup the applications from the current stock rom and transfer them to SD Card or somewhere else?
( Will Market still recognise the apps I downloaded after I flashed my phone to MoDaCo? )
- One more question, everything when the MoDaCo rom releases a new version, lets say from 2.9 to 3.0, must I reflash and build everything from scratch again?
Thanks A Lot,
Jeremy

hi,
well to answer your questions,
you can install all your applications directly on your sd card using app2sd.(it is incorporated in the modaco roms but bear in mind you have to correctly format ur sd card in ext3 partition for app2sd application to work . Once you've done that , you can flash anything and you'll not have any problem.
2)concerning paid applications, yes. market will automatically recognise applications you bought once you sign in your google account(they'll be recognised but you'll have to download it manually) but paid ones, nope.
3)when you upgrade from the same built( meaning from 2.8 to 3.0 modaco for example) , you dont have to wipe before flashing cause both roms use as base the official 2.73 rom. thus you wont lose any of your settings. However, when you upgrade from a modaco rom to community rom 1.6 , you should normally wipe.(builts are not the same here, one being cupcake and the other eclair)

Thanks A lot for your response, and I have some questions again.
- Where could I find an app to format my SDCard to Ext3? Will my Windows PC still be able to read EXT3?
- You mentioned that market will recognise my downloaded applications after I root the phone right? So, I dont really get it - I have to download it manually? Meaning? ( All my apps are free, no paid )
- Its pleasing to hear that I don't have to wipe when I upgrade to 3.0.
- Oh and something which I missed out, I am supposed to flash a Radio at the same time right? Which one is the best to date? I heard that there was many versions. ( I'm using a GSM Hero)
Sorry for the inconvinience.
Cheers,
Jeremy

[UC] SASHIMI v8.0 Modified

If you have recently searched for SASHIMI, you will have noticed that the website winmo-experts.com that bengalih (the developer of SASHIMI) hosts has been down for a while. I thought I'd post the latest version of SASHIMI here until he gets it back up and running.
I had lost this CAB after my last ROM flash/SD card format and it took me a while to find this copy so I wanted to save some time for those who still want to use it.
Thanks a lot.
Have been looking for this.
