How can I overclock the processor frequency. Some people says, that their device is running on 530MHz or on other speed. Default is the frequency 400Mhz(that we know). Is it a special tool to do that? Thanks in advance.
Yes, try Pocket Hackmaster or XCPUScalar.
Use both tools at your own risk since overclocking may destroy your device.

keep in mind that higher frequency == lower batt time

It doesn't help a hard-reset or a ROM upgrade via bootloader?
it's not designed to be overclocked, that said, I've overclocked mine when I need to, and it hasn't exploded/melted/refused to turn on so far...

No, not if your CPU or memory chip dies.

Yes understand of course. I have experiences with PC overclocking. That if is a high frequency for the processor, the computer freezes itself or doesn't start. It's working again at lower frequency. Nothing was damaged. But I've mentioned, that the CPU clock will turn back to 400MHz after HReset... Or not?

Yes, it will.
XCPUScalar for instance returns to default speeds when device is not resetted by the program itself, so even after soft-reset with other tools.

One question.
Can I use XCPUScalar for "downclock" and get more battery?

HI,
does anyone uses OMAPClock.exe for Overclocking?
What is the latest version and on which rate does the prophet runs fast but stable?
CHeers,
i don't know about last version but i had the 0.2 version, maybe it's old one, but maximum i could increase my processor for 264 mhz not more, but realy i don't know if it's useful or not, cause i didn't see differance. what about other users?
OMAP ON Prophet
I do but after you turn off the device or reboot the device you have to execute the app again the only solution is to put it in the startup file. I used it on my Jasjamin and i use it at 209 MHZ, you can put more but you might experience reboot or app failure.
for alternatif you can use batterystatus, more info on mainscreen and can overclock omap too, i try till 299mhz(sometimes), and works good, you can setting for auto overclock at wakeup
can download here http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_batterystatus_xda_neo_wm5_im_cs.htm#DownloadBeta

1. yes, it will be a bit too harsh for the processor,
2. it does consume more power,
3. it will freezes on some apps,
4. over over-clocking (over 264Mhz) may brick the device,

i keep my prophet overclocked at 286mhz with batterystatus for a year now.
i never had any unstability problems. these only occur only if using speed above 286mhz, ex:293.
At 286 works very nice, i'm so used with this speed that I'll never downclock my device
cheers
Good app and thanx for all info
Nice app....i had my mpv 600 sitting for a while now, and i have use it now with new rom and it's working fine at 264mhz

2. want to try higher? I had tested. Prophet bricks!!!!
3. use @ your own risk, default clock is 264
4. want to change the clock lower? run omap_OverClock from the startmenu/programs folder,
5. it will keep in 264 even after softreset,
6. it will keep in 264 even after power on,
7. use wakeapp to clean the notice service if neccessary (if popup occurs after uninstall),

Yes my friend When I try 312 mhz phone seem ok but when you try open something it is lock. I am trying this Qtek s200 G4. 299 mhz working very stable. Overclocking could be changeable at same systems. İt depends on cpu manufacturing time etc etc.

First of all, I got interested in overclocking because I've read that it helps boost the performance of android devices.
Now, Having no experience at all, I have some queries and questions about this feature:
1. Supposing that I have already downloaded an OC with my preferred frequency, Do I have to flash to be able to apply an OC Kernel in my device? Or do I just have to update it from CWM?
2. What does this term mean? :
"use no-Frills for OC and I/O setting"
3. If ever the OC I have applied is unstable, how would I be able to revert it to 600MHz again?
I hope you guys could help me with my doubts.
Thanks in Advance!
Dude never overclock a device...it decreases the life of the device and who the heck told u that improves the performance of the device???It doesn't improve just causes more problems!!!!!

Stop lying . It may decrease the life of your device if you overclock dangerously (too high for the processor to handle). It does increase performance.

1. You just set your frequency in the app.
2. No frills is an app. Whoever stated that is just saying you should use that app to do it (thier preference).
3. If you use SetCPU, you can create an update.zip file which allows you to set it back to the default frequency via recovery (if your device can't boot).

I found this thread :

So what does this mean? Why do I have to download it from there instead of using the app to change the frequency?

Because not all kernels have OC/UC capabilities. You have to download and flash a kernel that allows it.

Don't overclock beyond what anyone else has had success with. Look up other's successes.
And if you can't, doing it step-by-step, ~100mHz at a time, slowly, will make it feel hot or crash before it explodes (back down if it does get hot or unstable).
Undervolting can also help counteract some of the bad parts of overclocking, without affecting performance at all. UV can, worst case scenario, cause data loss and crashing, never hardware damage, but best case scenario improves battery and device life. Again, do it step-by-step, 5V at a time, slowly, and back up when it starts acting weird
You can check this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1247213
you need to have a kernel that allows for OCing/UCing , i'm not sure if galaxy fit allows it
you'll know if it allows it or not if you'll run an app that allows for OCing/UCing, if it doesn't allow it, the maximum frequency at which you can set is 600mhz only which is the default.
My phone's rooted for the first time several days ago and the CPU is overclocked from 1Ghz to 1.7Ghz.
I suppose it depends on overclocking application. The ROM that I have includes an O/C app and there's an option called "on demand" which means even if your CPU is overclocked, it will not utilize the max clock speed all the time.
My phone actually runs at 300Mhz on standby and around 1.2Mhz when I am using it to surf, listen to music or watch a movie. I've never seen it run max 1.7Ghz.

It depends on your device (and kernel), plus the frequency you set it to. Also, it's based on your preference to do it or not.
Hey guys,
I have just installed OmegaRom by Team Cooper and what a Rom it is!!! Amazing is an understatement.
Okay so with there new Rom v2, it has an OC kernal built in and it does work...BUT I need to know how to OC the thing safely and squeezing as much performance as possible!
I have it at 825 and min 806 mhz, scaler is performance.
What settings would you pro's recommened?
Thanks!

"overclock" and "safe" cannot be use in the same sentence, it just wrong.
theres no safe overclocking. moreover each and every device is unique even for the same model.
what is working with others doesnt guarantee it'll works with yours.

I know you might think what I'm going to write is unnecessary and going to contradict with your believes here. but I'm going say it anyway.
If you are going to use your device for a long time then I would suggest not to overclock too much. You'll know when something will go wrong with your over-clocking. Your SGA would start rebooting randomly. Heating up would be excessively common once you start overclocking, using your SGA while it's charging. Over clocking will definitely reduce your processor life span. People who do can over clock their device to get the max out of their device and know they're going to change the device in sometime later anyway.

Don't worry! Like I said, I have experience O/C'ing processors etc and I know how bad the effects can be! I am not going for a massive overclock at all. Just a tiny bump in the speed. At the moment, I am running 825mhz and already the speed has improved dramatically. I may go a little further but 902mhz is a bit mental for my liking.

Disadvantage ...
you may damage your hardware if u constantly overclock.... so be very careful while overclocking....

Anw, as much as it's good, it's bad.
It's "same" in PC's and phones, why I say "same"? PC have one advantage, we call it cooler and vent's.
To get better info on OC: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=overclocking+pros+and+cons
Overclocking is basically making your phone's processor faster than it should be.
Advantages: Faster phone.
Disadvantages: Short life span of phone
Normally, if I overclock, I only increase it to a little more than My processor's stock speed and set the governor to ondemand. Ondemand means only if your phone requires more power it will use more. Be careful though, and DON'T go crazy with the overclocking
You only need to know one thing for overclocking
Never do it if you don't lag like E#@.

Read definition of overclocking
1GHz is not overclock, since its made to work on 1GHz by default.
Besides it can't damage it if (again) its made to work on 1GHz.

No. its not. the powersaver governer sets cpu values to low to save battery life but it is safe. You may find a little lagging or low performance.
