[Q] Problem installing CheckROM v6 / (bad) installation aborted.

Hi Guys,
This is my first time trying to flash a custom rom, and I have been getting the problem:
(bad)
Installation aborted.
I just rooted my phone, using CF-Kernel KI2. Nothing else. And I just can't seem to install the CheckROM via CWM. I have followed the thread step by step a few times and still am unable to install it. So i boot into recovery mode, select my .zip file of Checkrom from my internal sd memory (it is in the root folder), and still cant do it. I have tried doing a factory reset, data reset, battery stats reset, etc. I would greatly appreciate if someone can kindly help me as i have spent hours reading up but am still unable to solve this. There are some people with the same error but I'm not sure how it got solved in the end. The thing that's puzzling me is that I have followed the exact video tutorial and thread to install CheckROM yet I still get the error.
Thanks so much in advance.
Hello,
I don't know if you already tried it but what about downloading again the zip file ... maybe your file is corrupted and md5 checksum results in an error...
Cheers,
Download the file and try again or check checksums if the creator posted them.
It could be a corrupt rom package.
Edit: Ninjad
Hey guys, I solved this already with help from someone.
Basically, the zip file wasn't corrupted. But instead of just going to wipe factory data/reset, i had to go "Mount/Unmount" then clear the data from there. After doing that, it worked! Thanks anyway!
your post helped me .... many thanks
I'm happy to read that you managed to flash CheckROM. I'm sure you'll enjoy it

Hi, I tried this but unfortunately it didn't work. Could you please be more specific about what you did?
Thanks

Install problem

I want to install ithttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782771
but
I have an error installing the XPERIA S ICS.zip
core X10_135_FXP.ftf my, but an error (Status 7)
Hi, could you please provide an screenshot of flashtool when you're flashing kernel?
Regards
everything seems done, put a different kernel, then put the firmware on it, and changed the kernel, and it worked fine
Ok, i'm using this ROM and didn't have any problem, so if u need assistance just ping me =)

Error Status 7

I have SGP311 4.2.2 stock rooted with this kernel and regularly I am trying to install varius custom ROMS but I am always getting Error Status 7 and flashing stops. The only way to overcome this issue is to install first the boot.img from the ROM that I am going to install and then through the Recovery of the new boot.img I can install the custom ROM without errors.
I know this is not a normal behaviour and I am trying to figure out what's wrong. I tried to edit updater-script by removing all the getprop lines but then I got the same error when the set_perm command is executed.
Could you help me ?
Thanks!
i had the same issue

i had the same issue while i was flashing cyanogen mod 10.1.3 , any ways i kept trying, i still recieved an error
afterwards i tried to download the rom again and then i placed it into my internal sd storage, after soo many tries, i finally got it working
maybe its the issue with your zip file, try downloading it again, place it into your internal storage, not external, then flash it

Hi and thank you for the reply.
I tried to install from the internal flash though I didn't believe that the result would be different and I had the message (set_perm Error Status 7). It's very strange that no other users mentiong this problem. I am thinking maybe it's something with my stock ROM or some other setting.

i think you have mentioned that you flashed the boot.img before you tried flashing the rom, i would recommend to flash the right boot.img again from the rom, this is the most common issue when u get status 7 error,
other wise, backup all of your important data, return to stock by using flash tool / factory data reset, root again and then flash the boot.img and then flash the rom
thats what i do when im desperate for the rom

LG V30 - Failed to mount /system

Hi,
Long time back I had an issue with installing custom ROMs as Iwhile install I was receiving message failed to mount /system, somehow I have managed to fix that by myself and i installed flashable stock Pie ROM. Now when I wanted to install RevengeOS by mistake I choose Partition.zip from Oneplus rom and now I can't install anything else due to this error. I even tried to use Fox Recovery but didn't helped much.
Edit 1 :
When I tried to fix that following steps from internet I'm receiving error 7 for installing the ROM and error 1 for kernel. Also even when I fixed /system it's all the time unchecked and i can't choose it again.
Any suggestions how can I fixed that as i really forgot how did I do that long time back
Thank you,
Snip3rPolska
Does anybody know what can I do ? I have tried almost everything what I know and still nothing.. Don't remember what I did that time to fix that ?
