Through research of different posts I have determined that I have a CID unlocked G4 model. I have a Qtek 9100 with MW 5:
Ipl 2.17.0001
Spl 2.17.0001
Gsm 02.07.10
Os 2.17.7.2
I was hoping to find an easy way to upgrade to WM6 and install the new touch applications. Does any one have any suggestions on which WM6 rom to install. Everything on my wizard is original programming except I have added PHM registry editor.

There is no easy way... Are you sure your G4 is CID Unlocked? ALL G4 are locked in factory and the only way to unlock them is via imei-check website. You can use ShellTool to flash any WM6 here in the forum (I recommend NBD 7.4 for the touchflo apps).
As soon as you keep a copy of manufacturer RUU for your Wizard, you can flash any ROM you like using shelltool (Unlocking not required, but never using RUU to flash unless it is a manufacturer RUU)

Read the wiki at first. You don´t have to unlock for flashing, but to downgrade your prophet to a special version. Then you can flash some of the versions you prefer.

CID lock has nothing to do with the OS. you can upgrade/downgrade your OS with CID lock phone. on the other hand you can not dowgrade your IPL/SPL if your phone is CID lock. ( don't change IPL/SPL if you don't know what they are)
Yes, before I can upgrade to WM6 it should be AKU2.2 ... Which software version is it when I look at device information?
so, if i have a g4 model with wm5, can i upgrade with the PDAViet 4.0.0.0.6 Touch? i've been reading wiki, but... there are always some kind of a fear to do the things for the first time...

To refresh ROM into HTC Wizard, first you have to determine the device version is G3 or G4, and get the IPL/SPL version, then unlock the Cid. Otherwise the Wizard would be bricked.
But I noticed in the atom updating, few thread talk about Cid, IPL/SPL, or G3/G4,
Does Atom need unlock the Cid? or IPL/SPL? or bootloader?

Welcome to the atom family =)
As I understand what you are trying to say is flash the rom (as stated above as refresh). There is a different way for the atom in upgrading the rom, unlike in your previous unit as wizard. it would be better if you will read the wiki first prior to flashing the rom at once. You would be more familiar with your unit as well, just click on my sig on the wiki and all your questions will be answered. enjoy reading!

the reason other devices need to unlock CID is to flash other ROMs. CID - country ID. if you have a CHT device and want to move to WWE, BUT there is no CID unlocking in Atom because you simply change the hex values in ROM and you can flash it to your device. So, no need for it.

Hi everybody.
I'm about to upgrade my O2 XDA G4 from WM5 to WM6. I bought this neo on ebay and I don't know if it has already been HardSPled. Is there any chance to know - or - can the HardSPL procedure run again without creating problems?
Are the Radio, the IPL and SPL upgraded as well using one of the last WM6 rom or they should be upgraded manually? Do you recommend to upgrade also IPL/SPL/Radio?

The way to tell if it has been HardSPLed is to see the SPL number.
if it is 2.G3.4PDA or 2.G4.4PDA it has been hard SPLed if not, you will need to do it.
Generally, radio ROMs and IPL/SPL are best left alone (other than SPL for HardSPL).

The numbers themselves (2.G4.4PDA) are meaningless... I think it is 2 (the SPL version) G4 (the device version) 4PDA (sounds like "for PDA").
You will need to HardSPL first, using G4 HardSPL as your device is a G4, then you can flash a ROM.

I am using it on T-mobile.
I would like to upgrade it to WM6 or WM6.1 in as easy steps as possible.
Since it is G4 and CID unlocked, do I still need to do the SoftSPL or HardSPL on it as some guides say?
Can I just load a new ROM ? Please tell me which one(s) I should look at ? And will they keep my IPL/SPL at 2.16 ?

if it is unlocked you should be able to load it no prob hard spl will cid unlock (what you say your phone already is so you shouldn't need it).... but you will no for sure when you try and flash.... you won't be able to. as for ipl spl not sure depends on the rom you'll have to check with the developer.

Dont pay WST any attention, your phone IS NOT CID unlocked, G4 devices CAN NOT be CID unlocked, they can only be made to think that they are.
What you need to do is apply HardSPL to your phone, which will make your IPL and SPL read 2.26.0001 and 2.26.olip or something similiar(read the thread on HardSPL for the specifics), you can then upgrade to any G4 safe Windows Mobile 6 or 6.1 ROM that is availible here. I recommend using the latest TNT version(20273), as it is currently the most stable version available.
I have made a guide that is available in the G4 section that includes some screenshots and all of the neccesary programs to get you up and running. You just need to download it, and the ROM of your choice and off you go!

hi, yes, you can flash a new rom, but first of all, read , read, read and then read again, the process is very simple once you have readed the faqs (stickies)

I´ve read the Wiki and the sticky´s in this forum, i´ve searcht for my IPL/SPL Build and read this topics too.
But i´m unsure.
In the past (when the Wizard was new for me) i´ve read that the IPL/SPL 3.08.0001 (AKU3) wasn´t possible to upgrade .
Now i can´t find anything about that but i´m unsure.
Then i´ve read about Soft an HardSPL Flash but what is the best for me?
I´ve read that SoftSPL was better if you have warranty on your phone but my phone havent any warranty because it´s to old.
Should i use HardSPL to permanently remove the CID lock (then i should use only G4Save Rom´s - Right?)?
