I've got the Similar Blank white screen problem....now the call answer buttons are not working....screen stays white and after a few calls will come back..
I'm going to try to upgrade to latest radio and wm6 build... I tried the cingular latest build, still same problem...maybe the radio will help.
Good luck and please post your trails/results.
Thanks
p.s. anyone else with this problem please enlighten us!
I am having the same problem I have HTC 8525 with AT&T. I updated to Schaps Rom 3.6a. The "answer and End call" buttons do not work now. I am getting frustrated. HTC would not cover this under waranty. I am going to downgrade the ROM to the factory and use radio 1.47. I will post any results.
well, i bought a vario 2 off ebay and didnt know anything about flashing the roms of these. basically i thought all was well until when i was going through a period of heavy use it started glitching, then after a while the whole screen just started fading into whiteness.
the seller never said anything about any faults, i'd installed a few spb apps and thought it was my doing so that caused this.
i did manage to flash the rom using the pof ones on here, but the problem is still there and now it even struggles to turn on. when it does i get the htc and wm6 welcome screen before it starts dying and it fades to the white screen as usual.
does that sound like anything anyone else has had?
Ive got a vario 3 now so its been left for several weeks. Still wouldnt mind getting it sorted though if anyone has any ideas.
So this is my first post but i've been around for quite some time
Here's the deal, I bought a second hand Qtek S200 prophet which came with the original PTG wm5 rom. I flashed PDAVIET 4.0.0.6 and everything went fine.
As the days passed I started do have screen flickering and random boots followed by 30m without a life sign or boot and reboot again.
I thought the problem was the famous boot screen freeze so I decided to flash Gollums Prophet Touch VII.
The real deal starts now...
the flickering worsened... The reboots remained(especialy when charging or active sync).
Wi-fi stopped working doesn't connect. Battery consumption dropped from 4 days with pdaviet's rom to 1 day.
So I returned to PDAViet but to no avail... problems remained... reboots, screen, battery and wifi...
Tried PDA transformer... nothing...
Tried WM5 rom ENG and WM5 PTG... nothing...
Updated SPL and IPL... nothing...
Updated radio rom... nothing...
Hard reset, flashed roms and soft reset like hell... nothing...
Here's the specs:
IPL 2.20.0001
SPL 2.20.0001
RADIO 2.47.21
wm5 2.20.7.29 PTG
So any clues to any of these problems?

I would advice you to flash an official ROM, but I understand you did that already. The only thing I can think of is a hardware failure. Not all that nice, sorry....
You may be right about the hardware failure on the flickering screen and reboot...
but...
wifi and battery worked well until install of prophet touch Vii

When you downgrade to the official WM5, all drivers and so on will be replaced. You start brand new, fresh and clean. Nothing from any WM6 cooking should remain. So, if the problems persist, logically the haven't anything to do with these ROMs. To my knowledge is it not possible to damage your harware with flashing the OS to WM6..... (but my knowledge is hardly complete...)
So, I cann't give you a solution or explanation, but maybe it helps you a bit futher, succes anyway!
You're right. I'm no newbie when it comes to software all around and I know that flashing gives you a fresh start.
But I do find it very weird that the wifi stopped working since...and I'm absolutly sure it worked before so i'm guessing some registry settings are causing the problem. With pdaviet when i pressed wifi on comm manager the antenna appeared on the top task bar searching for signal and the button stayed on even if no network were to be found.
After the flash that icon never appeared again and the button remains off every time I press it.
What is even more weird is the battery life! 4 days to 1 day? without usage? I stylus soft reset and still 10% an hour battery comsumption! with a base wm5 rom! I'ts just too much!

You are absolutly right that things aint normal, especially when it occurs with an official WM5 ROM. I guess you're talking about behavior without any other programs installed? I'm out of sugestions. Hope you find an answer though!
The fact that the wifi has worked and youre device began flickering and rebooting before it started not working could be the explanation.. If the device have had a hardware failure, that made the screen flicker and reboot the device, could damage the wifi chip and therefore it dosn't work anymore.. That would be my suggestion, but ofcourse only a suggestion..
Hello, sorry if I've committed a faux-pas by starting a new thread for this, but after looking around for awhile I can't seem to find any info on my exact model (for purposes of flashing a new ROM).
I have a G4 WIZA100 "square" model (looks like Cingular 8125 but w/ black & silver fascia and HTC logo under the screen) and unfortunately I don't have the manual as it was given to me by a friend visiting from the US. Originally issued by Edge Wireless before it was bought up by ATT, and the Edge splash screen displays on soft reset.
My best guess is a standard P4300, but the ExtROM (check sig) turns up nothing on google. The only other clue I've been able to unearth is that on a hard reset a link to Qtek appears in IE favorites. Would like to try upgrading to WM6.1. Any help would be appreciated as I'm a total noob with this kind of stuff other than PSP-related.

What is your IPL/SPL when you soft reset? If it looks like X.XX.XXXX where "X" represents a number, than you have a G4 device, and if it looks like X.XX.X or anything else, than it is a G3.
Gah, sorry, I see now that you know that you have got a G4, so what you need to do it install HardSPL to your phone, which is available in the G4 section, and then you can upgrade to any ROM that you want, so long that it doesnt contain any IPL/SPL, which all of the newer cooked ROMs dont.
Thanks for the reply. I did HardSPL the phone and installed the throttle diamond ROM. Everything seems to be fine now, other than for some reason the start menu is at the top of the screen. Oh well, it doesn't matter to me. Big thanks to everyone on this forum that did the work that made it so easy for me to upgrade! The FAQs and guides were excellent.

Well, having the Start menu at the top of the screen is how Windows Mobile touchscreen devices are. WinMo stadard ones have it at the bottom.
If you are talking about the Task Bar shows with Windows logo at middle of Task Bar when the Windows Mobile logo is showing, it is a common bug in WM6.1 AKU builds.
Hi,
I have been having problems with my phone freezing every so often and so have found doing a soft reset quite often. I was going to do a hard reset on my phone and thought I might put on the HTC WM 6.1. Has anyone with the same phone as me put this update on there phone?
I just what to know if the update has improved the phone at all and what radio version you might be using.
Any help and feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
My T-Mobile Touch plus was needing a "full power cycle" at least every day. Used to keep loosing the clock or weather images and only way to get em back was powering off then turning back on.
Followed the guide on here, but used hard spl 1.21.
Flashed with the offical HTC 6.1 for touch plus.
Much better, no more power cycling the phone.
Just waiting for 6.5 to come along and try that, but at the end of my contract im going to switch to Iphone since they have announced "cut'n'paste" at last. Plus it has does push email. Getting fed up with the screen on the touch plus.
Hi Shoei
Thanks for the reply. I have upgraded to the official HTC 6.1 now with hard spl 1.22
I have notice a difference with performance already, and no more power cycling.
Hi Everyone,
Firstly apologies as I know there are loads of threads regarding this and I've spent all week trawling what feels like every one of them but still not found a solution.
I've got an HTC Tytn II that has a very very annoying Vodafone splash screen when it starts up! I've run the hard spl , reflashed the ROM all of which worked and still can't get rid of the ruddy thing screen on startup. I've tried using POF's app that's posted here but my PC picks it as a virus so that's not helped.
Any ideas as I'm at my wits end!!!!
Cheers
