Is there anyway to stop my 8525's screen from turning on when I press any of the media control buttons on my motorola s9? Its really annoying when I have to turn the screen off whenever I change a track or pause a song
Same thing happens on HTCBT S-100.
Help! It's annoying!!!
I'd like to know this as well. Using the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 with my TyTN.
I cant believe that no one seemes to care for this problem!?
Have any one found any solution???
I tried to use several screen shut down programs, but none seemes to be working if pressing the BT button.
Have any one thought of any other solution?

Does anyone know of an mp3 player that has a hold function where tapping the screen won't work or a player that will still work after my sx56 is turned off. Also I bought the cheap earbud headphones off AT&T's website. Is there anyway to map the answer phone button to have other functions (such as next track).
I asked a very similar question in these forums recently, and got the perfect answer: WMP already allows you to lock the screen.
In the player, go to Tools -> Settings -> Buttons and map 'Screen toggle' to one of your hardware buttons. (I mapped it to the 'Action' button - the centre of the cursor.) Now, when I press this button while WMP is playing, the screen is turned off and locked.
Hope this helps.

mapping the button on my earpiece
Is there anyway I can map the answer call button on my earpiece to goto the next track. I keep my sx56 in my pocket and it is annoying to have to reach in to hit the next track. Also when I am wearing the earbuds it would be nice to have the answer call button a mappable button. Thanks.
great, but not quite there
it's a great improvement, which does indeed disable the screen, but not the buttons.
I'd just like some kind of lock that disables both the screen and the keys, a la nokia phones.
cheers

Hello, I have been looking all day to find out how to lock the screen during a call.
I keep getting random things happening when I am calling… Hanging up, calling someone else, programs running… etc… Hanging up is the most common for me.
I would like to have the screen lock when connected but have the hardware keys still active so I can end the call. But I also need to be able to get to the keypad and other areas when on a call, but I would like to have to unlock the screen first.
Thanks!
Have you tried hitting the power button on top to turn off the screen during a call? then if you need to get to something you tap the power button again to turn on the screen again. Simple, effective.
That solution does not work with a bluetooth headset. When you disconnect your call via headset, the screen comes on even if the power button has been pressed.
I have S2U2, but I can't figure out if there's a way around this 'feature.'
You should try Throttle Lock. It locks the phone very well.
Hey,
I got a problem with my TG01.
I have the problem, that if I use a mediaplayer (it doesn't matter if it's the WMP, Coreplayer, Nitrogen, S2P...), I get black screen after some time and the phone is locked...but music still plays.
But if I push the On/Off button to unlock it, then nothing happens...
Only chance I have to stop the music then is to remove the battery.
And for me it seems that it's not a soft problem.
I tried almost all Roms that are around here. I had this problem with all Roms.
Could somebody confirm that this bug is available?
Maybe someone could help me to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance and best regards!

Try to keep power button pressed for sometime. In nitrogen I use the button which makes screen black, then if You want to turn it on back You have to press camera button and screen is on! Try It!
Thanks for the hint, that works with Nitrogen just like a charm !
Why didn't I ask earlier
Thanks alfi!
Hi guys!
My current phone is a Thl W200 and it's got Jelly Bean 4.2.1 and I'm rooted.
My problem is with the headphone button which does not work. Before I had a Sony Xperia J and the headphones that I have used to work with it( the button, when pressed, did various commands such as play/pause/next etc.) but now the button does absolutely nothing when I play a media file.
I've run a few tests and I found out that my smartphone has CTIA standard (just like the Xperia J) and my headphones are compatible so there's no problem there. I also tried with a CTIA to OMTP cable to see if it works and nothing, the button doesn't control the music player.
One strange thing that I noticed is that if I get a phone call and I press the headphone button the call is answered, so it must work, somehow; Plus if I keep the button pressed the screen is locked and unlocked.
So my question is, if anyone knows, what can I do in order to use that little headphone button in order to control the music player?
P.S- I've also tried a few apps such as button controller, philips headset manager etc but they didn't work, the click was not registered.
Oh and another thing, I installed the key test app and when I pressed the headphone button the app didin't register any keys being pressed.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Hello,
i got a general Android problem. As long as my screen is turned on, i can skip tracks with the controls on my bluetooth earbuds, does not matter if screen is locked or unlocked. But as soon as the screen is turned off, the controls stop working.
Googling the problem leads to nothing, because the only problem that shows up, is the one where controls don´t work on lockscreen.
But i got no issue there. Everything works as long the screen is turned on. As soon i turn it off, the controls stop working. I tried remapping keys with Button Mapper which doesn´t help.
Everything works as intended, i can skip (Spotify) tracks from Lockscreen, from homescreen, from everywhere. But as soon as the display turns off, i can´t skip tracks anymore via bluetooth. Changing volume still works tho! Also i can skip tracks with holding the volumebutton on the phone but not with the bluetooth controls.
Any fix for that?
