I am curious if this is normal.
If you click on the EV icon on top of screen
Instead of dialing and connected via #777(sprint rom) it connects via Sprint (dial up).
It tries #777, then goes to dialup.
Is this normal after the 2.3.2 rom update?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Rip

Doesn't sound normal to me =\...
I'm noticing the same thing on mine... Seems to work fine, but wonder if I'm using minutes?

I'm not sure if I flashed the rom correctly, but I'm confident I did. Thing is I was able to reprogram my phone's MDN, MSID so the voice part of the phone works. But now I'm trying to surf the web, it dials #777 normally, shows that I'm connected and even shows the Ev icon, but I just can't load any kind of website. I'm using DCD's new rom that's compatible with the new radio. Anyone else having this kind of problem? I called up sprint and they told me to "Get Settings" for my Internet through my services tab, but this rom doesn't have the Internet service option available . So has any sprint user found a way around this or do I just need to wait for a new rom?

[Edit]
Silly me, it seems like I loaded an Alltel rom instead of the Sprint rom. Well I flash the sprint rom from dcd instead and now got the Internet option within my Services tab. Hit Start IOTA and viola! my powervision is working again! Now to play with the new GPS...
get settings
i think what they meant was go to settings, personal, phone. then in the phone settings, go to the Services tab, then highlight Internet. click the Get Settings button underneath that window, and then click Start. it should inform you its starting an IOTA, then give it a minute or two. it will show IOTA on the taskbar at the top to the left of the EV icon. if that completes ok, try loading a page then.
Mine has all the correct info in the phone and always goes to dial up... I have to revert back to the HTC's default rom for everything to work.
I'm trying to figure out the same problem. When I push the Start button to try to initiate the IOTA, nothing happens. I don't get any IOTA icon in the title bar at all. I've posted about it on PPCGeeks too, but still no answers.

I meant, I don't even get the Internet option in my services tab with the rom I'm using. Therefor no IOTA for me.
Mine is halfway working. It only gets up to 1x speed. Intially would say EV but once I'm connected it drops to 1x. Now even when I go back to 2.16 I can't get EVDO anymore. Used to work. Not sure what happened. Maybe just a concidence my phone happen to break at the same time.
I am in a heavy VZW 3G area and all day today I have only gotten 1X on my phone. A couple times I had 3G for a few seconds but then it would either go back to 1X or just show the signal bars with no notification of what network you are connected to (what the signal icon looks like when you are connected to wifi)
I did a full wipe and reinstall of my rom and even reinstalled the radio again in bootloader (the latest 7/8/11 OTA radio) and still only get 1X at best.........
I'm hoping its just the area here and not my phone...........???
Please use search.
Its probly fine. Can you go online and browse alright? If so, its fine. 1x is for voice, so its always going to be "on" persay...

check your radio toggle settings ie - where
you toggle 3g/4g radio on/off.
- check and see if your radio is set to:
"CDMA auto (PRL)"
i had the exact same issue and come to find
out I had mine set to "CDMA only"
Also make sure your battery door is completely on
wow so......last night and today
I'm experiencing the same problem now too!
I no longer see 3g at all. just the bars
i have:
- flashed to different backup
- pulled battery & sim
- checked battery installed correctly
- checked radio was on cdma prl
and still nothing
dial ##778# from your phone... Go to edit mode, go to "Modem" and change modem from whatever it is one to "RevA" and then reboot. That should fix the issue.

yeah I tried that earlier and it did not fix my issue.
i ended up going in store and they changed my sim
card. Now I have my 3g connection back
for the meantime...
I have an Evo 4g Lte, that I only use as a wifi device. Cellular isn't activated on it. Anyway ... I removed the Dialer from the homepage, thinking I could always replace it from the apps or whatever. The problem is ... I used the dialer to turn off the cell radio, by dialng *#*#4636#*#* ... But after actually powering down the device. I turned it back on and the cell radio is back on. I expected that part. But now I don't have access to the dialer.
The only thing I can think of at this point is a factory reset.
Any ideas?

Turned out I had the People app disabled... which in turn disabled the Phone app.
I was prompted to update my S2 to 4.1.2 yesterday, and I did.
All seemed to be working fine until today, out an about, when there was no 3G connection at all. My limit is well below my cap etc... I just cannot get a 3G connection at all. I checked that data is on, all the menu's seem correct (i.e. Mobile Data on, Network mode auto).
I have gone in to the Network operators menu and tried both Auto and EE, but neither give me a 3G connection.
My contract is with Orange, but have had the EE network on my phone for a while now (changed automatically a while back). I'm not sure if that could be an issue.
Also, shortly after the update, a menu popped up just as I was touching something else. I accidentally just clicked an option and it went away. I can't be sure, but I believe that I selected the other option from "Orange", it might have just been some combination of letters which I didn't recognise, but I think the option that I didn't click was "Orange". Is this the mistake? How do I get to that menu?
Thanks.

Maybe the update changed the modem.Try going back to ICS (not 4.0.4!) 4.0.3.If this works, then I recommend to go with ICS.If it still does't work, then try flashing different modems.

I haven't rooted my phone. It just updated normally via a prompt.
Problem Solved
I rang Orange customer support, and my issue was quickly solved. I'll share the solution, incase anybody else has the issue.
Basically, the issue was that menu which I accidentally clicked after the update. I clicked "LIFE" rather than "Orange UK". So, you just need to go to your mobile network menu, find "Access Point Names" and then hit the menu button and reset them, and choose Orange.
when I first got onto Lolli, I flicked off the WiFi Calling notificastion by mistake.
Can't find where it gets turned on again from.
Anyone?

I think WiFi moved to Call, you can check there.

yes it has, but that is apparently not where the notification (the wifi phone icon) gets toggled.
bump?
