switched to FroydVillain, missing HTC dialer so much!

I just switched to FroydVillain 1.4 ROM which comes without Sense UI. LaucnherPro is not bad at all but I really miss HTC dialer: its ability to search through contacts as I tap dial buttons is amazing - I was able to reach any contact with two or three (rarely, four) taps . Now I need to scroll through the long contact list or search using QWERTY keyboard which is not so fast and user-friendly.
Is there a way to get HTC dialer on this ROM or install something similar?
Thanks.
Dialer One
Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for.
This is THE most common question asked. Use the search button!!!
Moved to Q&A as not development
Another option is "nubdialer", also free on the Market. It looks very nice and fast, but unfortunately, on my Hero it crashes immediately after typing in first digit.
I feel your pain... HTC dialler is the only reason I switched back to CronosDroid 2.13 from FroydVillain 1.40.
DailerOne was great but just waaaay too laggy for me (OC to 672MHz)
I'll have to check out Nubdailer....

ICS dialer replacement?

Does anyone else find the dialer in ICS a bit of a disappointment? The keypad search doesn't seem to work very well (e.g. typing "JOH" doesn't show all contacts with "JOH" somewhere in their name). The favourite contacts page shows over-sized icons so that only 4 will fit on a page.
Can anyone recommend a good replacement dialer for ICS?
GoContacts is the best
I can recommend exDialer. It has a nice and clean interface and support for themes. Also, it seems to be stable. I have been using it for 3 weeks or so and didn't see a single crash or malfunction.
Exdialer is the best no doubts!

Possible to replace Touchwiz dialer?

I am on Touchwiz 4.4 rom and I can't stop the stock TW dialer form handling the calls.
Each dialer I install (for example: exDialer) works for typing in the number, but as soon as I click "Call", the stock dialer takes over the screen. It is the same with incoming calls - stock dialer answers them and there's no way to change it.
On top of that, because exDialer is not the default dialer, it can't clear missed calls, even though the plugin for it is installed.
I had no issues like that on ASOP roms. Is this normal with TouchWiz roms? Is there any way around it?

Click to collapse
No there is any around it. There are 2 different apps at work here. The dialer which you use to dial the call and the phone app which is the in call screen. Not all phone files are open sourced so all you can get is a replaced dialer app.

Which dialer?

Hi,
I've been using exdialer for three years now, but lately I got tired of it. Its main problem for me is that it does not seem to replace completely the stock dialer. Each time I get a call, the background colors are the same light ones used by the stock dialer and also the caller ID photo does not cover the entire screen. Is there any more modern dialer? I'd like someone better integrated, with more complete theming options and a full caller ID picture. Feel free to post a screenshot,if possible. Thanks!
Contacts & Dialer by drupe
or
ZERO Dialer & Contacts & Block
As soon as google phone provides support or i upgrade, i will be using this but the above apps are good

I want a T9 dialer.

all these dialers suck. only Google Contacts does it right.
but it's missing some features.
just sayin'
