Answering service from O2 Stealth - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

Hello all,
While doing some 'research' on other similar Windows Mobile phone i discovered that the O2 Stealth has a built in Answering Service.
That is, you can set it up to take your calls without the caller going through to your voicemail. Quite a good feature if you want to save money.
So, i was wondering if i can have something similar on my Softbank X01HT device. Or if it was possible to extract the CAB and install it on my unit.
Any ideas anyone?

Answering Machine

Nokia 7650 has a program called Answring Machine which can answer incoming call automatically if you won't pick it up. Any similar program for O2 XDA?
Thank you!
Not that I know of, may be you need some additional software
If this is on a GSM network they have just given you a Voicemail box and you GSM phone forwards to a set number just for this function. Nokia's run symbian variant, I don't belive they have written an on board software for this.
Just go into settings, Phone, Services, Call forwarding and tell it to go to your office answer machine number, or home, or any number. Better if it is provided by your service provider as they may try to charge you a per call fee for non-network forward operations.
I had a Nokia 7650 some time ago, and there was some software that would answer the phone for you and act as an answerphone. Great little program, and worked a treat, espically when it cost me money to access my voice mailbox.
If it's possible to get a Symbian (the OS that the Nokia 7650 runs) emulator, then you could run that software!

Setting call devert delay for voice-mail XDA WM2003

Hi All,
I'm sure this has been raised before however i couldn't find in search.
Is it possible to increase the delay on call divert for un-answered calls, at the moment my xda forwards the call through after only 3 rings....quite short.
Or is this a network controlled setting? I've gone through the options in the voice mail setup.
I'm running WM2003 .21 release, on the Australian Telstra network.
Thanks for your help
Steve
Delya before VMS
On Orange in UK, it is network controlled. To change it I have to drop my SIM back in Nokia phone, change it and put back in XDA. I guess this probably applies to all networks.
Hi Pete, thanks for that....put my SIM into a Nokia and changed the settings.
It's strange this is missing from the XDA!
PS - For others stuck in this situation you can call your operator and they can set the delay for you.
Cheers
Steve

SMS Software for Wallaby

Hi All,
For some stupid reason I went and deleted all the SMS software off my Wallaby. I now need to use it.
Can anyone point me to a link to download some SMS software for my O2 XDA ?
Thanks
Sonny
Should be fix included in Pocket Outlock......
I think you have to explain, what you have deleted exactly....
Stefan
I live in Australia. I re-fllashed the firmware in the Wallaby to T-Mobile firmware. Big regret but that's another story.
I cannot re-flash the firmware back toanything else as I have Navman GPS software loaded. If I try to change the firmware, it changes something in the Wallaby which mean Navman thinks I have a new PDA. When this happens, the Navman company wants to charge me for a whole new software licence ! Damn pirates. So, I can chage the firmware.
I don't really use the PDA as a phone. A friend gave me the phone for a case of beer. I bought the Navman software - but it was worth it.
I wanted to start using the Wallaby as a phone too. The phone works great when I plug in my SIM card. Make and receive calls no problems. When I try to send a SMS, I select "SMS" in the phone menu but nothing happens. Just stays on the dial option.
I have tried all sorts of ways to send an SMS, but it never takes me into a screen to create the SMS and then send it, even though there are menu option to create the SMS.
I think I have deleted the SMS software or just didn't include it when cooking the ROM.
Any ideas how I can fix this problem ?
Thanks
Sonny

[Q] TG01 on Fido

So I have the TG01 and I have tried multiple roms with multiple radios and I have the following issues that I have yet to find solutions to.
My caller id is intermittent it doesn't always work but with my previous phone I had no issue.
Also my SMS timestamp is 4 hours behinda and I have tried every .cab out there.
I am wondering if there are any other Canadians out there using these phones and perhaps not having these issues can shed some light on what their setup is.
Regards,
After testing FFBOY'S TG01 WM6.1 21057+Manila2016 i have found that all my issues were solved however i wonder why i cant achieve this on 6.5.
I found out it has nothing to do with radio or wm version but it had to do with the fact when roaming on at&t it works fine but when on fido it isnt as consistant so I shall call Fido to have my caller id fixed hopefully.
I have the same issue with my fido mobile phone. A short call from any representative can easily fix this or before that try to check your settings and update your dates and time else call the representative or visit any offical store nearest you.
so you have yours fixed?
i already called and they said since its not a fido phone they can not do anything and this is an issue apparently that affects alot of users...

[Q] Android phone for Skype-type video calls: advice please!

Hi to all
I'm looking for a cheap-ish, reasonable spec., probably secondhand Android phone for my daughter which must be capable of video (pref. 2 way) Skype-type calls via wifi.
It won't be having any kind of SIM (PAYG or contract) in it initially, but must function as Skype-type video phone via wifi - unless someone tells me that's not possible! I can put my own O2 SIM in it if necessary to set up whatever needs doing to make it function.
So...some questions please:-
Is it possible to set up a phone in this way? (ie. to be able to make & receive Skype-type video calls without having a SIM card in it)
If it is - how exactly do I do it?
Should I use Skype as a carrier or are there other providers who would do the job better/easier?
Which Android phones will best do the job?
Many many thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Any advice gratefully received.
Cheers

well my recommendation is HTC Desire with it you can have high quality resolution video calling and it on a reasonable price too
Any further thoughts from anyone..?
I realise I'll need a device with a front-facing camera in order to have 2 way voice and video, but I would very much appreciate some advice as to whether what I want to do is possible and, if so, how!
Many thanks
