Voice command 1.6 cab - HTC Startrek

Is it possible to get a cab for voice command 1.6?
Thanks

I found this after a long long search...it seems to be working fine so far, I haven't tried it with bluetooth though...enjoy

cant find voice commander cab and I've already deleted voice speed dial

Ok so I've been searching the forums looking for the voice commander cab... nothing. I've found trillions of MS voice command cabs but I like commander way better. I've just removed voice speed dial entirely from the system and was wondering if someone could point me 2 the thread with Voice commander for hermes
Where did you get an official ATT 6.0 ROM ? Its not available in US from what I know?

Voice Command on the 6800

Anyone "in the know" on what is going on with Microsoft Voice Command?
For those not up to date heres the brief bio:
Microsoft released a rocking WM program that offers true voice recognition on pocketPCs and smartphones. If it didn't come with your carrier's build, it's a $40 upgrade, and well worth it. The latest version is 1.6. Unfortunately, it's been fraught with little issues, mostly related to Bluetooth headset compatibility, but most people still find it indispensable in spite of these challenges. I'm one of those people. The dial by number, and recognition of any name in the address book is invaluable to me, and a "must have" app for my 6800, no matter how badly it works.
The program is at version 1.6, and hasn't been updated in 2 years now.
What's the skinny?
jtg
I agree. I have had the same problems and have searched the net for any info about an update. Like you, I have not been able to find anything about a projected release of a new version. I guess that is just the microsoft way...only 2 years..
I heard a rumor that it was goint to be built into the next version of Windows mobile, but I hope that's not true.
If that happens, hoppefully it will be DCD to the rescue with a port for use all!!!
The real deal:
Ok, to those who haven't been following:
Microsoft DID update the VC software, but it was never released. It seems the Windows Mobile version went to the back burner since they made a deal with Ford Motors to start including the VC technology in the new Ford in-dash stereo systems (que up your mp3's, make calls via your bt phone, etc).
However, there was a test rom floating around for another WM device that had a greatly improved new VC version, which fixed 99% of the problems everyone was having.
This version was extracted and made available as an OEM to load into a kitchen to build into your ROMs.
There is NO .cab installation that I've seen for this version, so you're stuck with either cooking it in, or just replacing the files (there's a zip floating around here somewhere of the files u need to replace to make it the new version, but I don't recall where I saw it).
The OEM can be found in the excellent new PPCGeeks kitchen (ppckitchen.org), which incidentally supported Titan roms now.
For you DCD fans, it seems he hasn't made his rom compatible with the new kitchen GUI, but its relatively simple to make it a basekit. If enough of you push dcd, he might consider doing it... otherwise, you can always copy the OEM directory into DCD's kitchen OEMs.
Try Dutty's Voice Commander
This works for me, it is the best of both versions I have seen of the voice software. There are a couple versions out there, this is the most recent I have found. It is a cab.
I've got VC almost completely working. I cooked it into the DCD ROM. One reg key needs to be changed to get the button on your headset to work. The part I don't have working is the prompt and confirmation comming to the headset. The prompt and confirmation come out of the phone. It takes commands fine through the headset, just no audio until the call is started. Anyone know how to fix that? I'm using a Jawbone.

Thanks

No, it doesn't require you to set tags, but provides that as an option. The tags are useful for frequently called numbers as they should reduce errors somewhat.
This version also works properly through my bluetooth headset including confirmations.

ok, here is what I did to get it working with DCD:
1. Take the voice command folders from ppckitchen and put them in the OEM folder. There are two folders for the newest version
2. Cook your rom
3. Change the button assignment to VC if you want (settings -> buttons)
4. HKLM\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand change "path" to "\windows\voicecmd.exe"
5. HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway change "BTAGExtModule" to "vcbthag.dll"
Hope that helps you guys!
P.S. On the handset the initial voice prompt beep doesn't work.(the first time you press the button)NOT USING HEADSET
When you dial by the headset the little dial tones come out the handset.
This also lets the phone send ring tones to your headset when it is ringing.
Dishe--thanks for the tip, I googled and found a cab--I have voice command 1.6.17913, and it is a significant improvement over the one I purchased. I can now use my BT headset like I did with my old 6700!! Can anyone confirm this is the most recent build?

1.9.19209 is available as an OEM in the PPCGeeks Kitchen, but I don't know if there is a CAB of it anywhere.

I just went through the Kitchen process described above and I get a version number of 1.6.19209. Perhaps just a typo?

The Tip in option.xml for this version says, "Microsoft Voice Command - Latest version from kaiser". No2Chem shows as the author, so maybe he will chime in.

I believe it was just a typo and he meant a newer build of 1.6. I have the 1.6.19209 installed from the kitchen and can not seem to get voice dialing to work when I dial by name though. It recognizes the command and will ask me if I want to dial work, home, cell, etc. However, when I confirm it never actually dials. It will work fine if I tell it to just dial a number though. Anyone else experiencing this and know of a fix?

There are 3 olders in the PPCKitchen. Voice Command 1.6 (which is the 1.6.17 version), VoiceCommand (version 1.6.19), and VoiceCommand_Lang_0409 (supports files for 1.6.19). I threw the VoiceCommand_Lang_0409 into the SYS folder in DCD kitchen, and VoiceCommand into the OEM. Cooked with no problems.
Have no issues with VC not dialing a contact.

After you install the ppcgeeks buildos and update, there is a kitchens folder. In there, PPCGeeks_OEM.rar has these folders.

MSVC vs. CSVD

What is the reason why quite a few people prefer CSVD to MSVC? Unless I am missing something, MSVC works very well.
Thanks in advance
What's difference between them ?
If I remember Right, CSVD (Cyberon Voice Dialer) needs you to record names for each contact you want it to use.
Cyberon Voice Commander is a more direct competitor to MSVC as it doesn't need any recorded samples.
It's clear now. Thx

If this is the only difference, why would anyone be interested in CSVD? This was the implication of my original question.
What does this have to do with ROM development shouldn't this be in the General Forum?
-McMex
MS voice command announces emails in sender and subject line, but does not read the body of the email - does read sms -
cybron reads all the email in full- which is great if you are drving and have it on bluetooth or speaker- but it sounds very very robatic and yep crap-
mods move this to genreal forum -
Would love to get other peoples insights into what roms work best for bluetooth handsfree, and what apps people use for voice dialing etc

Because if you're willing to spend twenty minutes assigning voice tags to your contacts (and to launching applications, if that's also your thing), you may find sound recognition software to be more accurate than speech recognition of software, probably a lot more so with background noise, that guesses without much reference how you might pronounce names which not only sound differently than how others pronounce it (and with different tone, speed, intonation etc) are often not pronounced phonetically. On the other hand, it won't read things to you and it won't tell you what time it is.
OP, for future reference, mcmexican is right.
RAPHAEL: Cyberon Voice Command (CVC) / Microsoft Voice Command (MSVC)
Additionally, CVC will not work properly without the Bluetooth OEMAGW.dll from HTC 5.05.405.1 Raphael ROM.
There are a few posts in the Raphael Software section that cover this in a bit more detail.
Cheers,

Voice commands on Neutrino 2.2

Hi, sorry if stupid question... how can i get voice commands to work on this rom?
the vsuite.apk not part of any of the addons, i got voice search from market and it works, to search and for voice input on the keyboard to compose texts and emails,
but i need "voice commands" app so that i can use my bluetooth. On stock, red pill, aura and darkside it was there, one press of bluetooth, say phone command, blue ant bluetooth said activating your phone's inbuilt voice commands, then you coud do numerous things ie call bob, play "playlist" etc. i found the vsuite.apk in numerous other roms i have on pc, extracted, copied to /system/app &/or /data/app and set permissions but it always fc's. i've been able to do this "porting" from another rom before for simple things like alarm clock, but can't get to work. Maybe something to do with deodexed vs non ROMs, files incompatible for each other. i love Neutrino, but hands free dialing in car from bluetooth is an absolute necessity, so could be a deal breaker.
Any help greatly appreciated!!
Have you tried the "Languages & TTS Add-On"?

Yes, thanks, I did install that, no difference.
I "know" [and I use the term loosely ] that the file I need is vsuite.apk,
b/c when I install it on my phone, the icon is right, it's the voice commands
icon from stock rom. It can be run manually by pressing icon in app drawer or activated
from bluetooth, it's the same, and a female voice asks you to say a command.
Disregard...

Not a stupid question. I think this is a an important "ROM Basic Requirement" for the drivers who can avoid texting while driving.
Anyway, I have found a "workaround" for the original voice command. It is the
Cyberin Voice Commander which works as a "replacement" of the original voice command from the other manufacturer.
It is working well here and it is worth paying it in the Android Market.
I have downloaded the portuguese (BR) version, but you can easily find your language over there.
Hope this helps.

Have to go to work, will try Cyberin asap. Thanks for the tip!!

Thanks again warevolo! It's working! Can't seem to regulate its volume independently, Bluetooth headset volume at minimum and cyberon voice still very loud, and voice recognition accuracy not as good, but it does work... beggars can't be choosers Cheers

[Q] voice commands on energy rom

Hi there,
I'm looking for a possibility(software) to use voice commands (via bt headset) on my htc hd2.
Today I've received a new bt headset which "is able to call contacts from phonebook via voice commands".
And I really would like to do that... First push on the "magic button". nothing happens.
After some research and a phone call with the support hotline they told me that this function relies on the phone's possibility to perform voice commands.
google search "told" me, there is something like MS Voice Command (in german language), it "should" be built in since Version x-y... at least in the stock ones. (I'm not using the stock rom because the htc messenger app did brake the sms sync with exchange!)
After some additional research i found out that in the rom I'm using no voice command software is inbuilt. (Energy.Leo.21916.Sense2.5.GER.Cookie.2.0.Mar.21.7z), and the author isn't willing to change that. But in the same post he adviced people to install it via cab-files. And I'm searching for them!!!!
I haven't found a possibility to buy the german 1.6.2 Version (the latest I guess) nor to download...(lots of links, all of them are down)
But I did find a english 1.6.20771 one, it's installed, it's working with the bt-headset...
Is there any way to change the language to german?
Is there some other "good" software(which is still available, and has same functionality) to accomplish this?
Also I did have a look at the Artemis-ROM, which has the voice command functionality included...(cyberon voice speed dial)
but I'm not sure if it will brake the exchange-sms sync. ( to install this rom and test that, i will have to remove spl, install other spl, mess with radio etc... it's not a quick test...)
Is someone around already using the artemis-rom with an exchange-server and sms-sync working?
Any help to get this voice command thing working in german would be very very nice!
Kind regards
