vetvito on PPCGeeks has extracted the new 3.37.20 radio from the latest ALLTEL ROM 3.35.671.9.

I'm on a ferry now and won't be home for a few hours to play...
[edit]
You must use a non-SDHC (ie. 2GB or less) microSD card formatted in FAT32 with a cluster size of 4kb or less to flash the radio ROM
Standard SD flashing routine of renaming the RAM TITAIMG.nbh and placing it into the root of the card
There will be 5 pauses at ~14 seconds during the flash
Using the USB RUU method will lead to a likely lock-up at 9%
For an easy way to revert back, here's a link to the 3.35.04 CDMA radio ROM released by Sprint:
http://www.mediafire.com/?1nnegzk3ftw
wonder if could flash on Sprint? i'll wait to see what and if Dcd does something with this!
I couldn't wait -- after a very quick test of a phone calle, GPS, and data, all appears to be fine with the new radio. That's on a build of my kitchen based from the Sprint 3.35 ROM which is an identical OS build as the new alltel release.
I flashed via the SDcard method. Just be patient as there will be 5 pauses of around ~14 seconds during the CDMA flash.
did you do the rom upgrade from the exe.? givin from the website?

I said how I flashed.
You are confusing the official alltel update .exe (an exectable archive composed of multiple files) with this extraction of the radio from that alltel released ROM.
This radio is simply an .nbh ROM file. If you are unaware of what that is then I strongly urge you to read the XDA-Wiki.
Getting Sprint start screen back.
Hey guys,
I had to run the official Alltell release, just because the .nbh file kept getting stuck and restarting itself at 8%.
Not that it's a big deal, but is there a simple way to get the regular Sprint start screens back?
Thanks.
memory stick method
should have done memory stick method worked without a problem. I just didn't want to flash alltel so i decided to give it a try and it worked

even though i knew it was coming from reading this post, man it always scares me to see a progress bar pause for an excruciating 14 seconds.
anyway, updated and it works fine here on Sprint!
i wonder if this fixes battery life
well, I updated! Flashed via SD by renaming to TITAIMG.nbh All seems well on Sprint and DCD's ROM. Calls are actually a little better, the dead spot in my building is gone.
Edit:
All was well until I went to google...

That's awesome! Literally laughed out loud.
Haha, I had the spanish translation for Google as well, you can edit the settings of the page itself and change your location/localization/language within Google's page prefs.
Regarding the radio, here's a stupid question...is it carrier specific?
radios are generally not carrier specific....
if you can somehow get into options
if you can figure out the options you can actually change the language. I've had that happen 2 me b4 the update
I got an error message that stated something to the effect of "your phone can not be updated". It was strange. It jumped to 8% complete immediately, then the error. I was attempting to flash via a dummy RRU folder I have. Anyone flash via RUU successfully?
I have a weird issue.... I can't flash via the SD card.... Here's a snapshot of my SD card info.... When I put my titan in bootloader, with the SD card in the slot, it briefly flashed a gray screen says invalid image.... then back to bootloader.... there's has to be something I'm over looking....

Can I flash this with an empty RUU? Would I have to reinstall the OS or no?

apparently not. I attempted to do so, and it failed after 8%. I read on ppc that SD card was the only confirmed method of flashing. If you find otherwise, please update us.

Is it possible to go back to an AT&T Rom without problems after (what I think) having SSPL installed? What happened was that I had a retail WM5 on it, then went to VP6's Rom, then found the AT&T official Rom and installed that. If the final comes, and I run it, will I have issues??
Thank you

Thanks guys.
One more question, if I have WM6 (ATT "official" release from this site) can the user later upgrade to an official WM6 ROM from the htc site? I am asking this because I will be selling my 8525....

Sure. You will need to unpack the official HTC rom and put the nbh file in a folder with the custom_ruu. It won't flash using the ruu shipped from HTC, but it is a piece of cake.
You just unrar the exe file and pull the nbh out, drop it in a folder with custom_ruu and you're off.
Thank you
By the way, if I downgrade to a retail SPL, will I lose the subsidy unlock? I unlocked my phone via a code from AT&T.

Well, I have never unlocked my Hermes using the code from AT&T. I have always done it via pof's unlocker. Reflashing has never relocked my device or any other that I have seen. So, I think that you are safe.
Also, I believe that the unlock code is calculated using an algorithm based on the IMEI number. So, even if it did relock, the code SHOULD unlock it again.
If all that fails, just use the unlocker that pof made!
Thanks to everyone for their time.
I currently downgraded to SPL-1.06
When I run the retail ROM that is:
RUU_Hermes_CINGULAR_WWE_3_1_.57.502.1_6275_1.48.00.00_108-ATT-MR3_Ship

I just want to have the ability to update to retail ROM's whenever I can without extracting the exe files and running them manually.
To tell you the truth, I am selling this to a buddy and he's not really computer literate, so I don't want to help him out every second. He needs to upgrade to the retail AT&T ROM for the 8525 once it's out in a month or two. Right now I am giving him the AT&T (beta) rom that I found on this site.
Any help would be appreciate it.

Looks like Vista. Have you checked out MrVanx guide for Vista flashing?
Yes, Vista is working fine for flashing and I've followed that guide and it all works. I've flashed this phone without problems through Vista and ActiveSync for Vista.
I just had my Mogul swapped on a warranty replacement so I need to flash the ROM. I haven't done this in a while so, using these directions by USB, I downloaded bootloader 2.40 and dcd's latest ROM and Sprint dialer. I successfully updated the bootloader to 2.40 but I get the following error when trying to install the radio.

Just to see what would happen I flashed the ROM even though the radio didn't install properly and it worked but I couldn't connect to the internet and the ## codes didn't work. I was able to flash back to the stock Sprint ROM.
Has anyone else had this problem?

With DCD roms there is no internet or ## codes added in his roms
You need to go to DCD's Carrier Files
Thanks, I must have missed that. Do I just run the cab after flashing the ROM and I'll have a fully functioning radio with GPS?

All the carrier cab does is add internet and epst settings for the network you use
GPS is enabled by the radio and a driver.... as long as you install a newer radio from sprint or alltel then gps will work with DCD roms.... With DCD's builds it takes about 2 min for a gps connection
That's the problem, I get that error when trying to install the radio. I extract the TITAIMG.NBH and put it in the RUU folder and run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and get the error I posted above. If I install dcd's ROM after that it seems to work except for internet and ## codes. If all I have to do is run the cab for the carrier file that you posted, then great. I'm just making sure I'm not missing anything since I can't get the nbh to work.

The Ruu programs for the titan are finicky so that is probably your problem
Is there another way to install the radio? The last time I flashed the Mogul it was for dcd 3.0.0 and the radio was an exe, but I can't find one for the current version.
if you install the newest sprint or alltel rom then it will have the newest radio... then you hard SPL your device with nueSPL-2.47 then install dcd's rom then add the carrier cab.... for MMS your on your own for that
OK I got it. The Mogul had the latest Sprint ROM so it already had the dialer it needed, I didn't realize that. I just flashed dcd's again then install the carrier cab and so far everything's working. I just need to test out GPS. Thanks for your help.

You need to reflash with a different ROM. There's plenty of discussion about it in the ROM section - there are a number of builds that, unwittingly, have been based on a leaked beta release that has a timeout at the beginning of March.
Simply install the latest Stock ROM, or choose an alternative cooked ROM.
Cheers,
Steve.

Im trying to reflash Raphaels ROM by using memory card, but I can not find RAPHIMG.nbh

When you d/l a rom the nbh file needs to be renamed to RAPHIMG.nbh then load it to the sd card and flash.

Not that I doubt you, but how exactly did you perform the hard reset, and what happened? Did you see the bootloader screen?
edit: Forgot about the March 1 crash...
You should not be cross posting.
Hold Volume down and reset. You will go to bootloader. Plug in USB and flash from there. No need to sd flash.

Unless it's a used Raphael, you need to flash hard spl before you flash any roms onto it, and you need to flash hard spl through an active sync connection. Read the relevant stickied threads before you do anything.

Hi there!
Well, despite the huge warnings in red colors, I installed the official RUU 2.1 update. My HTC Hero is now with 2.1 and works fine, but I would like to install a Spanish language pack (MoreLocale doesn't works). Yes, I know I could wait to the WWE version but... The mistake is done. So, my questions are:
1.- Could I rollback my firmware or try to install a custom rom? How? (I tried Goldcard + Previous version without success)
2.- Could I install a spanish locale?
Thanks in advance and congratulations for the great job you're doing today. How many roms in less than 24h!
This is a so-called 'WE TOLD YOU SO' situation..
But, have you tried an old RUU package?
Yes, and I can't install the previous one. I also noticed that my bootloader version is newer (000004 before, 000007 now).
It's suposed to be possible? (install the prev. Version, I mean)
Maybe with the goldcard method, but not guaranteed it will work.
Ok, I'll try later again, but I'm not sure if this is gonna work, because I tried it twice a while ago.
Thanks!
Good luck
Tried twice with the GoldCard method (I did it well, because it worked when I updated) and I get this error:
Checking Main Version
Update fail!
And in the RUU installer:
Error [140] Error bootloader version (or something like that)
Suggestions?
Wait for someone who is able to root the new rom...sorry...

hi, i'm just a noob like you, i had to do the goldcard method, it didn't work the first time, but to make sure i was following the tutorial, i had to print it, and follow again, and then it worked, make sure you pick up the right one for your phone. and start from the beginning again , i'm sure you'll get it to work at the end, don't give up. just go through what you doing step by step, you'll find what was wrong.
Ok, I'm trying right now. Will post results.
Thanks!
hi, i've loaded my first custom rom,the new villainRom 10, wow the phone is very quick, plus pinching the main screen the new feature, great.
first i didn't know which rom to use, had to go with what btdag got. all the credit goes to him on a great tutorial plus villainRom great rom.
downloaded the new radio, haven't installed it yet. got to do more reading first before i do, to be on the safe side. goodluck uniyah hope you got it sorted.
cheers to all the devs and tutors
Well, I tried the GoldCard method for 15 times. It just doesn't works. I think it checks the version and give me this error.
One question: Is possible to install the Spanish locale?
For now it's just impossible to root the new 2.1 because nobody has done it yet so for now you will have to wait... However, the Sprint Hero had been rooted a few days ago so I think that it won't take ages to root our Hero...
Try MoreLocal in the market for installing Spanish...
MoreLocale doesn't works.
So, there is nothing I can do for downgrade? Any other Goldcard methods or something like that?
I don't think so... In my opinion some guy will find a way to root the new rom but you will have to wait...
As you have seen Gold card doesn't work...So the protection against root has changed...
New HBOOT probably denies installation of lower version than it already is on the phone, thats why you can't run any of the previous RUUs. Tough luck
Rooted 2.1 official rom's are out now try vilain 10 but be careful when flashing the radio because i just bricked mine flshing it :'(
Brrr, and I can't get into recovery mode. I get this when I try to put the phone in recovery mode (Power + Home button)

Anyone, any ideas?
Quite some time ago, when HD2 was brand new, there were some people around with unofficial beta-ROMs on their devices. Don´t exactly know what was going on, but I am quite sure the search function will bring this or that into light for you.
Maybe flashing with a Goldcard might help, not sure. But apparently, your SPL seems to face troubles, no wonder you´ve got freezes etc.
Did you try to flash something older than the 3.14 stock ROM? A lot of users are not happy with this anyway...
Also, older SIM cards or some SD cards can cause issues, did you try to flash without those in the device?
I flashed all three ROMs which are available to download at HTC Website via RUU and direct from SD-Card. I also tried to install all SPL which are available from Bepe and Cotulla. I got the Security Unlocked line away on top but the freezing problems are ongoing as before.
Actual I have two HD2s, both are from same Provider with same SIM-lock but with different SIM-Unlocks. I did a photo of Boot Screen and this shows the difference. I have actual on both last Stock ROM.

As you can see, the difference is in first line "PB 81100" and "PB 81***" I think I have to improve here but not glue how to???
Update:
And now it becomes really strange. I already flashed the strange phone with Stock ROM from SD-Card so you can see above. After that I did a flash with latest ARTEMIS ROM and SSPL_RUU and the following Boot Screen appears
So before flashing there was SPL 3 on phone, while flashing there was SPL1.42.6666 on phone and after flashing there is SPL 3 again on phone???

Sir, SSPL works only for 1 (one) cycle. After you reboot the phone, your SPL will return to the original one (the one before SSPL).
SPL 1.42.6666 is only a temporary SPL modifying your actual/original SPL.
Cheers
Good, good, good ... but the question is --> How do I come from PB81*** to PB81100?

I forget the link, but I read somewhere in this forum, that PBxxxx represents the region of the phone. I think you flash unsuitable rom. In other words, the rom is not for your phone.

As I wrote above (maybe bad english), I flashed both mobiles with latest Stock-Rom (downloaded from htc.com/de) via, SD-card. Both mobiles were sold from same Mobile provider in austria with same SIM-lock. But, they were un-SIM-locked differently. Now, one is working smoothly (the one with PB81100) and one freezes almost (the one with PB81***) and GPS is working really, really badly in comparison to the other one.
EDIT: GPS is completly NOT working on device with PB81*** on Boot-Screen :-(
