Having Big Issues - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

Ok, I am going to get flamed I am sure... but I was trying to update to the 3.39 radio on my Tytan earlier today. I previously had the 3.35 radio and DCD's 3.12 ROM on there (using olipro2.40). I followed the directions on the forums best I could, and reflashed from 2.40 to 1.20 in the olipro. Now it is just stuck there. I cant reflash it to 2.4 or anything? Also everyone keeps talking about the RUU for the radio to flash it, but I have searched for two hours and cannot find a simple post about where I am supposed to find this program. Just a billion mentions of the RUU folder... which doesnt help me at all.
I just went ahead and reloaded the dcd 3.12 rom using olipro 1.20 and it looks to be booting, but this still doesnt help me with the radio issue... ( the SD card option will not work for me either.) Thanks for any help

RUU stands for Rom Update Utility. I have heard that flashing a radio ROM using a RUU with Olipro 2.4 is problematic. The SD card method is much better and easier. Can you get into bootloader? (power/camera/reset)

...
I have been able to get back to everything the way I had it before (as far as ROM and olipro version) and I can get into bootloader, but I dont have a compatible sd card.

If its up and running as before I would buy/borrow a SD card and update your radio that way. Why can't you use the SD card method?
Ooops...just saw that you don't have a compatible card. The microSD card in your phone will work fine if its not SDHC.

I dont have a card reader or access to one in order to format the card and put the file in the root.

Sorry I don't have another idea...I wouldn't attempt any further radio mods until you can get a SD card with the radio ROM on it. Too risky you might muck up your phone and at least now its working. If I remember correctly its the newest 3.x radios that were causing problems when being flashed with a RUU on Olipro 2.4. Perhaps one of the senior members has an idea.

the bootloader. its what comes with the newest rom.
the rom is not released so unless you snaged it from here tonight you wont have it.
I was reading instructions by IMCOKEMAN - does anyone know if we can keep the 1.20 Olipro and do these instructions?
EDIT by ImCoKeMaN:
I have found that if you have issues where your device seems to be bricked and stuck in bootloader before completion of the update you can fix it by flashing via SD card.
To do this there are 3 steps:
First take the .exe file and open it with winrar. There will be a file 3.16.....nbh extract that and rename it to TITAIMG.nbh
Next format a microSD card with FAT 32 (required most are fat16 default) and copy the file TITAIMG.nbh to the root of the sd card with a card reader.
Finally place sdcard in device and reset into bootloader mode. The flash will proceed from the SD card and it should work fine. Enjoy!

I got from a file called 3.16_GPS_rom__and_patched_2.05spl. I think it was ppc geeks, I am running the sprint rom on my Telus phone. Going to go back to 2.17 and Radio 2.06 seems to work better. Besides don't need GPS on my phone at this time, as I have in dash GPS.

DO we have to RELOCK?
I read many many posts yesterday about having to RElock the phone.
Do We need to do this before running the new Bootloader, then radio, then rom?

I didn't. I flashed the new unlocker straight from the 1.4, then radio and then the new ROM.
so will this pretty much allow you to have gps and rev a with any rom of your choice? or do you still need to use the new roms?

Alltel 6800 - Stuck on bootloader

I just upgraded the bootloader on my phone from 1.04 to the 2.4 in order to upgrade the rom. After the bootloader upgrade finished however, my phone will not boot back into the OS. Each reset brings me right back to the bootloader screen. How do I proceed?

You can download a GPS compatible radio and a GPS compatible ROM and flash them from SD card, this is actually very easy to do. Once they are both flashed on the phone, then you can flash whatever GPS compatible rom you want via Activesync. For now tho, since it won't boot, the SD card is your best option.
They end in .nbh, so look around, there are 2 posts one for the latest radio and one for DCD's latest rom, both should have links to .nbh files, and if not, you can rename the RUU file out of the DCD rom and then copy it to your SD card.
There are dozens of tutorials on here, just do some searching and you'll be ok.

Thank you so much for your help! I spent a couple hours looking around. Copied the radio .nbh to the SD, let it load, reset, copied ROM .nbh to SD, let it load, reset. and I'm up and running.
Thanks again.
Glad things worked out.

How to get back to orig bootloader config on VZW?

My wifi will not work. It use to be fine with radio 3.27 and dcd 2.3.2 but recently started acting really strange and now it cannot find any wifi signal. I loaded wififofum and no luck there either. The phone is still under warranty so I decided to load the VZW MR1 release. I have the MR1 laoded and the phone works still no WIFI - but I still have the nueSPL 2.47 loaded.
What do I need to do with this 2.47 bootloader to make sure when I warranty my phone that VZW doesn't try to deny me seeing the 2.47 bootloader?
I read the wiki but can't seem to grasp what I need to do in this case.
I think get a relocker but not sure and if that is right where do I find this relocker?
Thanks in advance
Errr I think I found what I was looking for in this link just after I posted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426041
Can someone confirm?
The relocker puts the stock bootloader on your phone, not the bootloader shipped with MR1. If you want the MR1 bootloader, you need to use the relocker, then flash the stock rom. After that, you need to run the MR1 update again. This will update your bootloader to 2.07 which is the MR1 bootloader.

Thanks GC14,
I tried running the relocker from the post I found. I used this 1Gig SD card last night to load nueSPL 2.47, it was no problem. When I follow the instructions with the relocker now I get card is not formatted to fat32, it is though, and if I select to go ahead and format I get an error that partition cannot be created. I can't get any further with the relocker I'm using.
So I get what you are saying, but I can get the relocker to work while on MR1. Not that I tried this before with a custom rom.
Thanks for the help

Ohhh you're using nueRelocker? I'm talking about the original Titan Relocker. Flashes via USB and reverts you back to stock bootloader.
yes I just found what you are talking about.
So what would be my best approach?
I figured it out. I used the Actrve Sync Titan Relocker and then reloaded the MR1. Back in business for warranty now.

Helpful Information Needed

Hello guys, I have a little bit of a problem, and I am hoping that you guys can help me out. About 10 months ago I upgraded from my stock ROM to dcd's 2.3.2. rom and 3.27.00 radio. Every thing went fine, loaded up 2.40 olipro and the installation went perfect. Now last month I saw that dcd came out with 3.2.6 and wanted to upgrade my rom and radio, but this is were i'm running into problems. I was able to flash the 3.2.6. rom, but I am unable to flash the radio. I have searched up and down these forums and checked out the wiki's and havn't been able to find a solution. So now all i'm left with is a phone that can't make a phone call but is still able to send sms messages. If anyone has any helpful tips or even a solution to my problem it would be much appricated.
I thought the 3.27 radio works with 3.2.6. What is happening when you try to flash the radio? and what method are you using to flash it (SD card or pc)? Also when you bootup the phone does it say 3.27 radio still? I believe all the newer DCD roms need a carrier cab have you installed the cab? I'm pretty sure the phone won't be able to make calls without the cab installed. 1 more Q what service do you have?

When I flash the radio it goes to 8% flashes a red light and then resets. I have also tried both methods of flashing but none works. When I bootup the phone it does still say 3.27 as the radio. I have also tried to install a carrier cab but have had no luck.
Try updating to Hard SPL 2.47
The 3.27 Radio is NOT compatible with ANY DCD version 3.X and higher..... Have you read the Wiki? Can you flash the radio using the SD card method? All of your questions have answers in the Wiki.....
You should flash back to 2.3.2. Go into the bootloader(tri-color screen) and then flash 2.3.2 to the phone..... reboot it.... it should load up ok.... If this works for you to this point, you have several options to upgrade the radio ..... Read the Wiki....

Followed wiki and Stuck on Verizon logo pls Help

Hey guys, this is my first post but have been doing research for a long time(weeks) to gain knowledge.. I followed the instructionson wiki for flashing to
Radio Rom 3.42.50 using micro sd and Rom 3.2.6 . I uploaded the bootloader to nueSPL-2.47.exe no problem. but after the radio Rom was loaded it is stuck on the screen.. Im not sure how to use the titan_exitbl.exe. at this point.. please help, thanks
oh by the way, I am unable to connect to ActiveSync. I will not recognize a device being connected.
Two things to try..... 1 pull the battery out for 10 or so seconds then try to start it again.... if that fails.... load a newly cooked version of 3.2.6
I'll give that a try when I get home from work. Thanks I hope the cooked ROM works. So I pretty much go through the step again of loading it on my micro sd and press power+camera+reset right.
yep.... I've personally found it better to load the ROM after the Radio... It sounds like you already have the radio squared away so it should just be a matter of loading a ROM.
Still having problem loading up ROM. did I use the wrong bootloader? when I get to the tri screen it reads TITA100 SPL-2.47noChem Titan SPL EVT CPLD-9 am I bricked?
Did you remove your micro SD card before you did power-camera-reset to flash your ROM? I assume you are trying to flash your ROM using the USB cable right? You may have a titan.nhb file on it, that the bootloader is trying to flash.

this is where I went... Is there a way I can flash ROM dcd 3.2.6 using micro SD? it seems like thats what I need to do next.
I'm in the same state. I just got my replacement xv6800 from Verizon. My old one was flashed long ago to SPL 2.40 and various DCD roms over the past 8 months.
I didn't remember the whole process I used back then. I used the wiki to flash the new one and got the process out of order. I did the SPL 2.40 first and then the radio, both using USB. Now I am stuck at the VZW logo.
I updated the wiki.
It sounds to me like you are doing ok.
I recently had to replace my phone and basically what I did was load the NueSPL on the SD card and ran it. Once I soft-reset, I confrimed that I had the correct bootloader and it appears you do.
Next I loaded the radio file onto my Microsd card and renamed it to TITAIMG.nbh. I then hit the Power, Camera, Reset to get into the bootloader and it should auto install the radio, which I belive it has for you. Once you reset, the phone will most likely show the VZW spach screen as the new radio is not compatible with the old VZW ROM that is still on the phone.
SO the next step, it to remove the radio file off the MicroSD card and load the ROM file onto the microSD card, again, this needs to be called TITAIMG.nbh. Place the card back into the phone and hit the Power-Camera-Reset button again and the rom should now load. Once it says its complete, reset your phone and you should be in business.

the correct order is
SPL 2.47
Radio ROM
OS ROM
Carrier Cab
Trouble is if you can't replace the TITAIMG.nbh file on your SD Card.
I thought the correct order was:
Radio 3.x Minimum
SPL 2.47
Radio ROM required by Custom OS
Custom OS ROM
Carrier Cab
If you have NueSPL working with a 2.x radio, perhaps the the information on no2chem's site is just referring to the ReLocker?
Anyway, I updated the Common Problems wiki with blancmik's info.

Thanks blancmik and necromis.
I had to wait until I got home to pull out my 1GB microSD card and reader. I was able to flash the radio and a ROM.
I did it the following way and it is booted up to WinMobile 6.1.
SPL 2.47
Radio ROM
OS ROM
When I did all this 8 months ago I used USB. I like the microSD upgrading way much better.
Glad to hear that it worked out well for you. The first time I ever flashed was also via USB. After I understood the MicroSD method I've never looked back!

DCD releases his ROM on his site as a self extracting installer. In order to get to the actual ROM, I usually open the .exe with winRAR (winzip) will also work, and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file out, which is the ROM. That's what needs to go on your SD card renamed TITAIMG.nbh.
