I am tweaking my user configuration after hard resets, and I would like to have 2 or 3 programs run after my first sync. When I compared the registry before and after syncing (without doing a hard reset), I found this key was different:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Partners\{DD980D16-2EFA-49EE-86BE-4277155FE9E9}\LastSyncAttempt
and LastSyncSuccess
Is there anybody who just flashed or is about to flash who could let me know what these values say before the first sync? I would guess they are empty keys.
My goal is to set up a morstcript that calls the programs only when the first full sync is completed.

I hope this is the right forum for this. Always have a hard time figuring out which is. Anyways, I had to hard reset my phone and after everything was installed, I was setting up my SEVEN accounts and when I tried to put my account name in it said there was already an account with that name in use. I checked out the SEVEN registry entries and it only shows 3 accounts, the 3 new ones I just set up. For whatever reason, it seems the account pages from before the hard reset have stayed. Checked in CHome Editor, only one page called "Images" there and I don't know how to make new pages for that app so I don't want to mess with it. Nothing happens when I click on the old pages in the Email panel so it's just a visual thing. Anyone have any idea how to delete them? Maybe another registry entry I couldn't find?
Not a huge deal but it is annoying and I don't want to hard reset again and have to go through another couple of hours resetting all my stuff. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I've played around with this a lot since picking up my Hero last week, and have done loads of forum searching/googling too - but I still have issues.
FTR, I run Outlook 2007 (usually locally because I work remotely from the office) off Exchange.
1) Exchange/Outlook tasks do not sync to the Hero as standard? Is there a way this can be done? I've trialled Touchdown but don't like it.
2) Exchange/Outlook folders are a complete mess when displayed in the normal HTC mail app. I have something like 25 main folders, with each having 2-10 subfolders. But instead of appearing in the correct order, they seem to display randomly, which makes it an absolute pain to find anything. Is there a fix to this?
3) When sending Exchange emails from my Hero, they don't appear in the sent items in Outlook. But strangely they do appear in my Webmail version. Weird? Possible sync problem?
4) When sending gmail emails from my Hero, they too don't appear in th web version.
5) Have started using gcalendar recently. Still can't get tasks to appear on the phone, so have decided to use events to track things. However, when adding events via the web, they appear in the Hero's calendar, but when adding with Hero, they don't appear in the web version. Also, when deleting events on Hero, they don't delete from the web. Common issue? Fixable?
6) When I add an Exchange event on my Hero, that too doesn't appear in Exchange/outlook.
7) Coming from WM6, I was able to set peak/off peak sync times for Exchange. Is this possible with the Hero? Is it a case of "finishing" work and changing the sync settings to "never" or something like that? And then re-enabling in the morning? Not ideal if that's the case. Or I guess you could changes scenes to "social" and have no obvious instance of work-related stuff available? I'm trying this now because I'm on annual leave at last.
If you get this far then thanks for reading I'm mightily impressed overall with the whole Hero experience, and have spents probably a couple of man-days setting it up and configuring stuff, but it's just these little bugbears that are making it frustrating to get everything working properly.
Cheers

Anyone point me in the right direction here? I'm pretty sure there are some threads covering this but I can't find them.
Mines a standard HD2 from O2. I've had it for a while and every so often after a soft reset, a load of my email accounts are deleted - just leaving the hotmail and outlook account (my pop 3 account disappears) If I restore the previous night's backup data (I backup daily), they all re-appear, but it's a pain because then when I then try and sync it with AS, I get the message 'there's been a change on the server that requires the whole of your device to be re-synced' (or something like that) Which takes an age
Wondered if anyone else had experienced 'disappearing email accounts' and whether there's a fix?
AFAIK I've always had this problem - but in the past it only deleted them occasionally. This week, after almost EVERY reboot, the email accounts have been deleted
Thanks guys!
Steve
Have a HD2 which appears to have been setup for the same Exchange e-mail account twice, by the looks of it once using WMDC but not fully removed and not in partnership with any PC anymore and the other setup on the device. Is there any way to remove both of these activesync Exchange accounts to start again as they are causing issues with each other like duplicating contacts etc. and having to manually sync the one that does work for e-mail.
Would ideally like to do this without hard resetting the device but can't figure out a way to remove an account in Windows Mobile - am too used to the Accounts & Sync options in Android
Thanks in advance.

It can be done on device in ActiveSync: Menu / Options / then remove any or each of the accounts. BUT most probably it will also remove all the PIM data from your device
it can also be done manually (no harm to PIM data) by removing all registry entries under the keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Partners
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners
Thanks for this, I remember trying to remove them in ActiveSync but the delete option was greyed out at the time
I will have another go and make sure I wasn't in the wrong bit and if not I will try the registry option. Cheers
I had the problem with active synch but i uninstalled it and then re-installed. Worked for me
I make the mistake of purchasing Android-Sync to sync data between Outlook and my phone. Avoid this app - besides have some functional issue, customer service is completely non-existent. One of the key problems is that they create an account on the device and use it for sync'ing - kinda like LinkedIn. One of the key problems is that by using this approach, you cannot edit contact, e.g., you cannot set a custom ringtone for a specific user.
Making matters worse, I just discovered another problem: When I tried to delete that account, I was greeted with the pleasant: This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults (which deletes all your personal data.
Based on some reading, one approach for dealing with this (my phone is rooted) is to delete the file data/ system/accounts.db. While I understand how this works, this is a rather drastic approach as it also deletes the ten or so accounts that I do want to keep.
Is there a tool or approach for simply deleting one account from accounts.db?
Thank you
