Ok... so the project isn't dead... I want to take time to thank dzo.. He's freakin still working hard on this... I managed to get linux booted.. not android.. <--but thats because of the SD driver.. But dzo is a super smart guy.. and im sure he'll have that working... So.. I can hook my usb up.. and linux says usb connected.. disconnect it... and it says disconnected.. it makes me happy... I cant get it to initialize my modem... cause i don't have the correct password.. or something like that... so it gives me a generic ip.. which is 127.0.0.1
I can ping it.. and its there.. it can see it... When i try to ssh it via putty it says "connection refused"... so... I need to find out what im doing wrong there.. Im using port 22.. which i think is standard... but idk... Putty has a serial connection via com ports... but idk how to work that very well... so yeah... I think if we get some more people on this... We will be able to see Android on the titan pretty soon... Once again... dzo did all the kernals and everything... i'm just messing around with them.. thought id bring some titan people some hope...
yay linux but so far i cant think of any uses for it oh wells ill rember them as time goes

127.0.0.1 is always mapped to localhost on a machine. if the only ip address your titan has is 127.0.0.1, then that means there either aren't any other interfaces recognized or other interfaces aren't configured. when you try to ssh to 127.0.01 from your computer, what you're really doing is trying to connect to the computer itself on port 22. if you don't have an ssh daemon running on your computer on that port, you'll get a "connection refused" error.
since your titan doesn't have an external ip address, you'll have to resolve that before you can attempt to connect to it.
Dude, I am in the same boat as you right now. Everyday I check to see if there are any advancements on Linux ported to the Titan. Any chance I can get my hands on your files? I am pretty decent with Linux and I can see what I can do.
same here I want those files. I can rock linux once it is installed.
The option to run Android on the Mogul would be full of win and pass.
Good luck getting it working guys! I'd help but I'm not nearly advanced enough in my linux knowledge to get it working.
I've got the SD driver working now, can somebody with a titan see if android boots for them.
go to.

for instructions...
awesome news!!! Testing now, will report back.
Excellent effort all ..!!!!
Even without Android, Linux on this phone will ROCK.
Android boots up and is really fast. Touch screen works but none of the other buttons do including the keyboard. I would like to see and gpe phone edition build that might be better because it would have a software keyboard and terminal for debugging.
Phone calls work!!!
I use sprint and both username and password are blank in my default.txt browser also pulls up google's webpage with these settings
edit: power button works sometimes.
This isn't working for me on my 4gb MicroSDHC card.... (I get some weird errors, I can post later if you want.) Does this support MicroSDHC?
I have a 2gb card and it works with that I don't know about anything larger.
worked on a 512mb card i had laying around... i don't think this properly supports MicroSDHC... altho it even recognized it as SDHC in the startup...
Is there anything you can do with this yet?
Does it use wifi?
Boots and runs fairly quick. Doesn't work on my sdhc card as well.
When using pointer location, the alignment is close in some areas, but way off in others. Would be nice to be able to align as this causes issues with selecting menu apps.
Pressing the Camera button brings up the on screen keyboard, but I can't get it to work. It just flashes when I try to select a letter and never types anything in the SMS message box or Browser.
After awhile, the hangup and pickup phone buttons stop working.
Not sure if data is working or not since I can't type anything in the browser.
I am able to place phone calls. Sometimes I can't hangup due to the hangup button stops working and it says touch screen is disabled during phone calls.
Other than that, very impressive that you got this up and going on our phones!
dzo, WORDS cannot describe how I am feeling right now...
Titan - DCD 3.2.0
Android boots up from my 2gb SD card, but same problem, keyboard just flashes, won't type, hangup button stops working from time to time, anything we can do about the keyboard? seems like the touch sensitivity is a bit off too
First of All...thanks DZO...this is great work.
this is nice...just when it was booting up it was looking really NICE. The red thing going left to right n i was like "WHOA NICE" lolz
same problems as others...
Hardware: keyboard doesnt function, Only Camera, power and Phone (ON/OFF)buttons work. The buttons didnt stop working for me like they did for others...even after running this for like 3 hours. Then again I ran it...and they stopped working.
Software: Keyboard comes up after hitting camera button, but does not type anything. while running "Pointer Tracker" from dev tools...the center of LCD seems to be aligned, but the outer alignment is a bit off to the center from all sides. Batt Indicator does not reflect true status always shows full.
I was able to make call, but phone reset itself after 2 rings out. Incoming comes in, doesnt ring, but viberates.
Unable to test: Data, Wi-fi, GPS
Overall its really nice interface, apps load pretty quick.
It looks like it's not working on my 6gb card:
I unzipped everything to my SDcard root, and I get this error:
"mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /Sdcard failed: No Such device or address"
"Failed to Mount SD Card"
So it looks like an SDHC issue?
Now...to convince my wife to let me borrow her 2GB card!
ok, on further reading on the error:
I'm getting a DATA CRC Error when reading from the card shortly after "Welcome to Vogue Linux"
I see the "Short Transger (512 != 4096)" before the buffer I/O Error
I can give more technical details if it would help, but they are tiny, and hard to read, so I'd like to transcribe only if it would be of help....
BTW - Does the bootloader have an option to create a text log file?
I'm using the Sandisk 6gb micro SDHC with a speed rating of 4.

So if I try the Android image for the Vogue on my Titan, It boots up to the point of the Red Laser of death and just sit there.
Now this hopefully means the memory problem is solved, but maybe some underlying driver difference from the vogue.
Is there a project to get Android running on the titan somewhere?
All I've seen so far is this:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26378
which links to this:
http://projectgphone.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18
did you use a SDHC card? this is apparently the source of such an issue according to ppcgeeks forum
that and all the files have to be directly in the root directory of the card
Please Read.

Still Can't get data working
I have what I believe to be the internet password for my Sprint Mogul. When I change the connection settings in windows mobile the internet doesn't connect there, then when I change it back to what they gave me it does work.
I've tried this:
ppp.username = [email protected]
ppp.password = pass
ppp.username = username
ppp.password = pass
I've tried upper and lower case pass. I've tried connecting to the internet before I launch Android as well as not connecting. None of these options get a page displayed in the google browser or get data in maps.
Also how do you get sound working? I just hear a click when I get a txt message or a phone call. Which is inaudible in bars.
Also Can't get Mogul to Stay Off while runnign android
The menu button seems to be hyper sensitive and causing it to come back on.
Have been trying to get up to speed but have hit a speedbump. Laptop(running windows vista with Mobile Device manager installed) will not recognize my Raph (Sprint Carrier). The weird thing is I plugged my friends in and it saw it immediately and partnered with it. I admit, I did alot of tinkering when I first got the thing but Ive since gone back in to undo or reset everyhting back to mimic what my frineds phones settings were. STUCK! Any help would be greatly appreciated. In the end I am trying to connect to transfer the PHM Regedit proggy to the phone so I can get the battery to last more than a HALF HOUR! LOL Great device, Crummy battery life!
back when I had a Mogul, I had the same problem. I went through a lot of headaches trying to add rules to my firewall software, since I found out those can cause a lot of problems with activesync (just do a google search for "YOUR-FIREWALL-SOFTWARE activesync" and I'm sure you'll find something)
In the end, I realized the thing just won't sync without the little connector that comes with it. That may have just been an isolated case, but make sure you're using the piece.
If you're still in the grace period, make sure you get a different phone, because there may just be something wrong with your mini usb port (something that ultimately caused the complete demise of my trusted mogul).
Also, isn't PHM regedit available as a .cab?
Good luck.
Thanks
Hey thanks for the reply.
Will try what you said and get back to report the results. I did notice this little piece in the box that came with the device but no documentation about what it is supposed to do.
About the .cab question...... I don't pretend to know what that file extension means. I have not come across a defintion yet. I downloaded PHM, and the "setup file" is on my laptops desktop. NOTE. I did sucessfully transfer this setup file to my friends phone but could not get the app to run. Kept getting an error about putting it in a file or something. (dont remember exactly) Any ideas?
Thanks again.
Success
the unamed connector did it! recognized right away. NOTE: strange that my friends device did not require this to be connected to view his device. ???? Oh well onto the regedit and see if I can extend this dismal battery life.
Thanks again.
uncheck the Enable advanced network functionality in the Setting > USB to PC. For some reason this makes the Vista PC recognize the phone, had to do some thing with my Mogul
New build (27/6/10): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640785 Thanks Rhobuntu team! Check the linked thread for download and changelog. Fyi, for it to boot, assuming you have a touch pro or fuze, RAPH100 or RAPH110, you must change the mtype is startup.txt to 1910.
Working:
Touchscreen and Calibration
Keyboard
Screen rotation (press end call)
Sound (at least partly; phh got alsa working)
Simple 3G setup: first start Menu -> Network -> Configure 3G, after that run Menu -> Network -> Activate 3G and wait about 40 secs for the Dialog to appear
Sleep and power button (Works on Rhodium though)
Charging (Might require to be plugged in in Winmo before booting ubuntu.)
Wifi should be painless now.
Cpu throttling for better battery life
Framebuffer (Slowly though)
Not working:
Bluetooth
Video acceleration
Capacitive buttons
Radio
GPRS
Brightness control (Works on Rhodium but might work if you use shift+4 and shift+5 and disable auto-backlight in WM)
Gsensor
Proximity sensor
Stylus removal detection
I'm working on it when I get the chance. I'm a college student learning electrical engineering so I don't have much time to work on this.
and how do we install it? im downloading the file now does it run with haret same as android off a SD card or does it need to be flashed?

Same as Android. Just put the folder and ubuntu.img in root and change your mtype.
ok thanks i seen the img file and was hoping i didnt have to flash cbf re flashing again and having to re-setup my old OS
ive just extracted the folder and img file to the root of my mem card and changed the mtype to the same number as it says for raph 1910 when using android i booted haret and all i got is a white screen it hasnt changed for last 5 mins.
Tell me how it goes. Specifically, try using the command line. My / key won't register, whether with hardware or software keyboard, which makes console commands all but impossible.
I think mine is currently building a data image. Not sure it's compiling something in Haret.
sorry i just found out when i saved the start up txt in the zip file it didnt save i just changed the mtype on the mem card and haret booted, but its stoped at msmfb_start_dma 6321.563 ms after vsync request but all the numbers on the screen keep changing been like this for 5 mins or so.
now the screen has gone black and have a little blue square on the top left of the screen, is it still loading or dont know ?
Mine is doing the samething. I opened the keyboard and closed it again and the text came back still doing the same thing.

yep same here center lights now flashing and liths r on but screen still isnt doing anything
I just remembered, you should rename your img to Ubuntu.img not ubuntuarm.img or whatever it is. *Facepalms*
Also, file structure should be:
/Sdcard/Ubuntu.img
/Sdcard/Ubuntu/startup.txt
/Sdcard/Ubuntu/zImage
/Sdcard/Ubuntu/initrd.gz
/Sdcard/Ubuntu/haret.exe
Now that would help wouldn't it. Give it a try in a minute.
Well it's running but clearly the calibration is off. Looking around now.
Let me know if your / key works. I need that for the console.
yeah very hard to use with the pointer with no config and also it double clicks almost every time i touch the scrreen, maybe u could talk to the people from xdandroid and see if u can get there touch config to work with this?
OK it runs that's a good thing now it's time to start playing with the calibration settings to try and get it close. right now it's about a 1/2" from where I touch.
CLICKABLE
Yeah I know. How will you edit it? Through the console on your phone or will you mount the img in linux? I tried using the console but, like I said, my / key doesn't work so commands are impossible. Does it work for you?
Oh I'll save that for later. Just wanted to make sure it loaded for right now. I'll see what I can do. maybe it's about time to download a new copy of linux.

the only thing though is this woulnt support calls or sms as far as i know im not a linux person if someones able ot make a app for it then maybe but to me its more like running a mini laptop i dont expect to see any phone support it but if anyone else knows more would be good to know. but to me this will not replace android but might be nice to run asside to android like winmo and android is atm for me.
All credits goes to myn. Here is the original thread [ROM] Myn’s Warm Eclair - [RLS1 - 06/17/2010] - An Accelerated Experience
Confirm working good on my NIKE100 on ext2 SD, so withour flashing, i can use Winmo n Android on the same device.
How to:
1. Download from the original thread, i'm using NoMORootFS for SD with 240x320 version
2. Backup! than, clear whatever "android" stuff you have from sdcard (I dont want it to get caught up in the install) especially your andboot folder
3. Extract contents of downloaded zip to temporary directory
4. Copy extracted /andboot folder to the ROOT of your SDCard
5. copy zimage to /andboot folder with this version (credit to mblaster) get in from http://84.23.71.227/kerneloftheday (i'm using zimage with vibration on my nike100 with zimageNike name)
6. overwrite default.txt with attached default.txt
7. Run HaRET, than hit “run” to launch android
8. Press and hold center of dpad after hitting "run" and follow the directions in the NoMoRootFs menu system
9. Install android system
10. Quit installer
11. Booting into Android
12. After you can see android logo wait about 15 minute
13. then shutdown and open up your phone again (should boot into winmo)
14. start haret and boot again to android
15. your android is ready to use
Working: Call, sms, ring, data (although there seems to be a little problem)
Not Working: Bluetooth, camera
Great job and a good tutorial buddy, I defenitly gonna give it a try.
ok, try it and share here, maybe it can make us nike user more familiar with android
Nice... But!
Nice one there. There is seems problem with the hardware keypad. The hardawre keypad works though keypad #1 when pressed twice sleeps nike. Maybe the said button is mapped for that function. Better if we can bring it back to the original function. Thanks again.
uhm...
Hey,
I copied everything onto my SDcard, into the /andboot directory
Haret.exe starts, holding the D-pad...Linux starts etc, but...then it hangs with an error "sh: 2 unkown operand
losetup: /dev/block/loop1: No such file or directory
Failed
Failed to reach system.img on SD card"
And from there on every button I press gives my weird syntax...
anybody knows what I'm doing wrong..?
Installed on ext2 partitions, now take some tests on my nike 100.
Problems I found:
- On boot I have Voice Search not responding.
- If I try to set mms settings the apn disappear (i use Wind in Italy), setting only apn and name work (i'm syncronizing with gmail)
Thanks a lot for this tutorial!
Many thanks for this post.
Three questions:
You are using kernel with vibration for niki200/300 on your nike100 and your screen dont freeze?
What's the problem with data connections?
It's android 1.6?
Regards!

what do you mean by keypad #1? hardware numeric and alphabetically works on me.
and the android device keypad is different with winmo, in android there are back, menu, end key (CMIIW). so we need to map our device keypad to android one

The APN editing issue is caused from the paid market enabler script that is running as a service. It is trumping changes made to the APN list.
I am going to talk to dzo about making the same changes he made in the Donut ril for me. This should hopefully eliminate this issue.
The Voice Search Wait/Force close on start is a known issue and unfortunately in this build is more of an annoyance. For now just click the "Wait" button.
Okay, tested it today almost the whole day, started with full battery at 08.00, very surprised about the graphics and the response of my Niki, lot's of stuff are working, internet connection worked, hardware keypad was working normally, Gmail working, incoming and outgoing call's working, sms working.
Only tested those things because it's a phone and those things are the most important for a phone (my opinion).
Try to acces my sim-card to add contacts but wasn't able to do that.
Okay at 19.45 my battery is empty, be aware my battery is 3 years old.
Conclusion, for me it is a perfect working phone, sometimes you need a little bit patience to let the phone do his job.
Thanks youngsien

no, system.img is created in /andboot when installing, no need to copy file "system.img". here is the step i usually use. when starting haret and hit run, lot of text (linux boot style) come out. ok from now press and hold center d-pad, after some page it will halt with the message "press center d-pad to....." then release your 1st d-pad hold then press and hold once again. you should see some weird code on your screen but that's ok. after that you will come to installer screen to make system.img and data.img on your sd.
hope you understand, sorry for my english

Darn.
I think it actually already has CDMA functionality since this came from the Vogue thread, but I'm not unsure as to how to get the default.txt file right so that it will boot. Does anybody know of a guide to the the android linux boot commands? It's possible that the devices differ enough to require some different commands.

theoritically is right, but i don't know about that, do you ever asked mblaster on his nike myn donut thread?he is more master in this, because he can compile zimage kernel for nike. maybe he know the answer.
Hi all, I've tested yesterday and this morning...
I found it unstable, after I have set the apn I tried to sync with gmail accont, but never work (always "problem with the sync" reported).
Sending and receiving sms work, make calls work difficult, sometimes i heard but on the other side doesn't hear me.
I try to reinstall and don't set the APN, but anything solved.
Last, after reinstall, when I call it goes to sleep mode but no more wake up (using camera button twice, or other buttons).
I'll do more test, hope this can help.
Bye
p.s. sorry, I speak english only a little bit
Hi all,
Nice build...
Anyway, although it's very hard to resist, imho it's a good idea to wait a few more days until Myn releases the next Versions. If you follow the original Thread in the Vogue forum, you'll see that there are still a lot of problems even for the Vogue Users. For that reason it's probably a good idea to wait until the big one's have been fixed...
Hey guys.
I'm hoping you can shed a little light here as i'm starting to get frustrated.. Now i've seen various similar threads along the same lines so it's obviously a common problem and anyone who's offered a suggestion to the fix on other threads, i've tried to no avail..
I've had a DHD prior to this and done the whole rooting/ROM'ing thing regularly so quite used to procedures and what to do, but that was slightly different as i did it via the advanced hack kit.. This phone doesn't seem as straightforward to do. But about 3 weeks ago i bit the bullet and unlocked my phone with the intention of rooting and ROM'ing soon after.. Everything went well and the phone has been working perfectly, no issues at all and i've activated the developer option aswell and it's USB debugged box is ticked...
However, a couple of days ago i tried plugging it in to the laptop to transfer some music onto it, but both the two USB 2.0 ports on the right don't recognise it, i get the USB device not recognised message, anything else works fine in them, the only remaining port, a USB 3.0 on the left sees the phone and does allow me to access it, sometimes i can see everything straight away, sometimes i get a blank box and have to wait and the green bar takes ages to load along the bar at the top.. I've even had what appeared to be arabic symbols at one point where it should say Internal storage.. That confused me very much!! But now it won't let me transfer anything other than a single image file to the root. I did this as a test.. It transferred it straight away with no problems, but if i try adding anything else after that, it just hangs on the copying dialog box and either i have to close it or it does it for me a couple of minutes later with the "can't copy file" and "skip this file" options.. I've also tried it on the home computer which works fine but still leaves me with the same problem. Both are Win7 64bit.
I've uninstalled everything HTC from my laptop, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers supplied in the fastboot folder which i was told to download for the unlocking process.. Now, i don't want to have to download HTC Sync as i don't want to access my phone via that, i'd rather just use file explorer and ditch the bloatware.. I'm not sure if i'm running the correct drivers and this is the problem, but i can't seem to find them anywhere.. P.S. I'm in the UK so this is the international version..
Any help would be great as i'm tearing my hair out... I know it's probably something simple but it's refusing to work..
Hey i hope this helps

Olrite so i guess you are dealing with the same i dealt with a while ago when i was on cayanogen mod 11 on my HTC one M7 International ... there are many alternatives to transfer stuff from phone to Laptop but first lets talk about the normal one
Method 1 which you should try is ....
* Download the HTC sync manager .. its ok if you dont wanna use it to transfer data .. just install it ...
* ok so now the important one .. make sure you have window media player installed on your computer ....
okay so why windows media player ??
Well it contains all the MTP drivers you need to connect your phone to your pc ...
* you can restart your system now .. (Optional)
* now connect your device with debugging on ... grab the notification bar click on USB related notification .. and choose MTP or something like that ...i mean don't choose HTC sync manger .. choose the other one
* Now if everything went well you will se your storage in My computer ... and in Windows media player too...
Method 2....
Well if nothing works then download an app called Air Droid ...
it have some nice functionality ...
you will get to know how to use it after installing it ...
by chance if the local link given in the app does not works make a hotspot .. connect your computer to it and open a browser like chrome .. and go to 192.168.1.1:8888
Note : port 8888 is pre configured in the app so if you changed it .. use the dirrent port you used ..
If you are not laptop is not connected with your phone's hotspot then your phone and computer should be on the same network ..
Good luck ... hit thanks if it works just to let me know

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to run through the options.. I really appreciate that.. Unfortunately it seems nothing in terms of transfer via USB works (at least with this cable, it's the only one i have so can't try another at this point) on this phone anymore, i don't know why the sudden glitches, it's been working fine since i've had it but just decided to stop connecting this last couple of days, so whether that's down to drivers or the cable being dodgy etc i have no idea, but the Air droid app works beautifully and i can now transfer anything and everything, it has such a great UI too so thank you for pointing me in the direction of that.. Without it, and you, i'd still be stuck.. So i guess i no longer need to worry about cables or drivers anymore so thanks again!
