Does anyone else have issues with Wi-Fi when the phone comes out of standby/sleep?
I tend to have an issue where it won't connect to any networks and the only solution is a soft reboot.
Phone: Xv6800 / Verizon
OS ROM: DCD 3.2.3 (Kitchen)
Anyone having similar issues?

I have a Qtek 1010 64 MB:
ROM version 3.16.13 ENG
Radio version 3.19.01
Protocol version 32S54
I'm having the following problems with the phone:
1. Sometimes the device "hangs" when I'm making a call. It freezes completely, forcing me to perform a soft reset.
2. When I'm trying to call a phone that's busy, I don't get a busy signal. Instead, the connection is just dropped.
3. Sometimes my phone is unable to receive calls even though it shows a full strength signal. This also happens when I'm in areas where I know that the signal actually is very strong.
4. When I return from an area with no signal (eg my local supermarked which is in a basement), the phone does not regain the signal without a reset.
I've searched the forums and seen that other poeple have experienced similar problems, but I've not found any solutions. Does anyone know how to fix these problems? Would an upgrade of the radio stack solve any of them?
Try to update your phone bios.
The latest radio version is 4.21.00 and rom version 3.17.03
or try to install xda spec. edit. 1.2
Do you know that an upgrade will fix any of the problems? Or should I just try it and see what happens?
(Reposted from the thread dealing with the EEPROM issue)
2 days ago I upgrade my Dopod 838Pro to WM6. There were no issues experienced during the upgrade, but since doing it I have not been able to establish a connection to my AP. I have since downgraded back to the shipping version of WM5 in an attempt to get rid of this issue as I had no problems prior to upgrading.
One thing that I have found is that if I change my AP to be unsecured, using neither WEP nor WPA-PSK I can actually connect successfully, however as soon as I go back to WPA-PSK I again cannot establish a connection. I will try WEP next and post an edit with the results of WEP.
Update:
I have just tested WEP and it works also. Problem only seems to be with WPA-PSK security. Unfortunately I can't test any other APs - my router is a Netgear DG834T with the latest firmware on it. Does the Radio ROM version have anything to do with the WLAN/Wi-Fi/Wireless Adapter in my Dopod? I have no connection issue from 3 other PCs using WPA-PSK, the issues are specific to the 838Pro.
Device Information:
ROM version: 1.30.707.8
ROM date: 12/13/06
Radio version: 1.47.00.10
Protocol version: 32.80.7020.20H
I experienced this kind of issue where I work. There is a full wifi coverage and we can connect through WPA(2)-PEAP (mschap) or Open connection + VPN.
Since I updated to WM6, I was no more able to connect through WPA to the network. I connect fine to the open connection, but as I don't have the cisco vpn client on my hermes I cannot go any further.
I found no resolution to this; I asked the technical staff in-charge and all what they were able to tell me is that my handshake request doesn't even come to the RADIUS server.
At home I am also using wifi through WPA2 PEAP (cert) and it works fine. I had some issue at first (no connection possible with any WM devices I tested)with one of my access point, but updating its firmware had this fixed.
What you could try is to have your Access Point updated.
Let us know how you handle this issue.
One thing I noticed after upgrading was that wifi encryption defaulted to WPA2 with AES and I had to set it back to WPA-PSK and TKIP
I have a similar problem but i didnt upgrade to WM6 i upgraded to the latest Vodafone Rom.
I can connect to the internet via GPRS and whilst connected to my laptop via activesynch. but whenever i try to connect to my Netgear accesspoint it just sits at connecting untill it gives up. I am using wpa-psk too But it still doesnt connect when i remove all security
It worked fine before.
Not been able to test it on any other networks yet though.
any ideas i am running out
Rom: 2.07.161.1
rom date: 02/06/07
radio: 1.32
protocol: 32.65.7020.09h
i am expirencing the same issues on my Dopod 838 Pro running win mobile 5.0
My netgear router is set to WPA-PSK/TKP and other phones can connect to it.
However my dopod just sits on connecting and does nothing. If i try to surf the web my phone conect to GPRS instead of the wireless. Any ideas this is really frustrating??
I have problem with Wifi connection. I cannot get access to my Wifi AP (inside PC workstation: card Gigabyte).
I use HTC Athena with WM6 official HTC ROM (build 17745.0.2.3).
Beside Athena, I have on room others WM devices, and they are connecting to my Wifi AP without problems. For example Eten X500. I tried different authentication modes, WEP, WPA-PSK, nothing success. I'm sure all settings in Athena are the same as on my others devices. My AP is visible on Settings/Wi-fi dialog, and marked as "Available". but when I try to tap-and-hold this name, and select: Connect, then nothing will happen. It's displaying Connecting for a while, and then back to Available.
Is there any Wifi fix for HTC Athena?
I have the same Problem
I have an Imate JasJam and I am facing similar problems.
Here is what I have on my phone:
ROM - Black Satin
Radio - 1.43.00.00
IPL - 1.04
SPL - 1.20 Olipro
I recently flashed to this ROM image from the following web-site:
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=62&Itemid=26
At first it worked for about 3-4 days. Now all of sudden it has stopped working.
- I see that the WiFi connects to my access point.
- I can ping the device from my PC - so seems like it's fine on the internal network
- I have office communicator installed on the device - this seems to connect to my company server - I can see my colleagues online/offline
- On the other hand - Live Messenger does not connect, IE cannot view any site. Says "Page could not be found. Check the spelling and try again"
I wonder what went wrong.
Anyone seen this issue?
Wifi Problem wm6
Hi
The problems you have explained possibly caused by the driver update on the pc for the Wifi AP. Try uninstall the Ap and delete the settings from the Ameo, Then set up the device with WPA- TSK settings after reinstall the Ap with new drivers.
Good luck.
Actually, I could not figure what was going on. It surely was an issue with my device. Since my laptop(s) could connect just fine.
I did a hard reset - clear storage and the problem is gone.
I think it could have been due to some software installation on the device.
Now, question is which is that software. I will keep an out for this and see what happens each time when I install a new software on the device.
My phone resets itself automatically after making a connection to the Internet? I just upgraded to the newest DCD 2.2.6 rom and the newest radio 3.27. Any suggestions?
Well I upgraded to DCD 3.2.4 and 3.42.50 radio rom. For some reason now I cannot get a connection through WiFi , it gives me errors such as: Cannot obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter and ip address in network settings. It also says it cannot connect to the network at times.
I am on the Verizon Wireless network. Thank you in advance for your help.
Anyone???????
Did you install the customization?
do you have wifi router install
If you have WiFiRouter installed, wireless will not work until u remove it from the list.
ill find the cab you need to fix it the wifi router changes reg files and theres a cab around here that fixes it
I installed WMWifiRouter im not able to remove it from my programs list no matter how I try. That shouldn't be the problem either way because it did this before I even installed the software.
if you dont have access to your router you have to wait until your connection/ip clears out.
if you do have access clear out your ip from router setup and reconnect
Here is the fix i found the cab.
Installed CAB still same problem: Cannot connect to the network. Check your network and service provider settings and try again. Also cannot obtain a server assigned ip address. Try again later or enter an ip address in network settings.
Anyone can help?
I really need my WiFi to work .... if it costs to fix this problem I will.
Did you install the carrier cab?
I have had the same problem since upgrading to 3.3.4 from 3.2.6. I ran the carrier customization and everything else works just fine. I have DCD's version of the 3.42.50 radio. The wifi switch is on and if you hit wifi in comm manager the icon blink on and then off in about 1 second. I don't have wifi-router installed. I'm kind of lost at the moment, but haven't had a chance to downgrade to 3.2.6 to see if it works again to rule out the wifi radio being dead.
Same Problem
I am in Canada and have the Mogul (Telus P4000) with DCD 3.2.5 Radio 3.42.50 and the WIFI is NOT working and I have NEVER installed WiFiRouter.
Is it a radio version problem?
Any help would be appreciated
same problem here, I updated the ppc6800 to the last rom from sprint 3.35 with dcd 3.01 from bell and still same thing the wifi is not working.
is it one hardware problem or can I fix with with a cab file ?
DCD 3.0.1 is so old. Use 3.3.4 or 3.2.6 instead and do a reflash to fix the problem.
