DCD 2.3.6 and Task Manager? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I thought DCDs 2.3.6 comes with the task manager that lets u kill processes with holding the X? It doesnt seem to be..
If thats the case, where can i find the latest version that works with 2.3.6? the latest one i have that worked with 2.3.0 was Task_Manager_2_0_30995_1?

I'm running 2_0_30487_2 with 2.3.6 just fine without any problems.

So I'm assuming mine is newer? Is there any newer version? And can you confirm that DCD 2.3.6 doesnt come with its own built in task manager? (well, other than the regular windows one)

Just to be sure, you're not talking about DCD 3.2.6 right?
As I used the HTC Task Manager that was included in the kitchen.

The DCD 3.2.6 pre-built ROM did not include HTC Task Manager. I loaded V2.0 Build 304487
as it was already on my storage card. It works fine. A later build should work also.

All those look pretty darn old to me.

anyone know why DCD left out the task manager? The rom does still run fast even though programs are open.

dcd 2.1.0 installed htc task but doesnt work, why?

Before dcds rom I was running htcs task manager which helped me free up some ram when i closed everything but after i moved up to 2.1.0 the manager doesnt come up at all. Is this because its incompatible with windows 6.1 something within the rom?
...curious.. did you try installing X-button 1.5 or 2.0?

HELP, memory is way low and cant uninstall

Hey all, need some help. For some reason I am not able to uninstall some apps. I get a message saying it cannot be uninstalled but would I like it to still be removed from the app list. Example, I have PocketCM 2.0 and 2.1 both installed and listed on my apps list, but I cannot uninstall the 2.0 version. (or the new one for that matter cause I tried that as well)
My memory sits at:
MAIN
Storage
total 166.41
used 73.66
free 94.74
program
total 46.00
used 41.14
free 4.86
I need to remove some apps, but cannot. Also, is there some special trick to remove apps installed on the storage card rather than main memory? And do the apps installed on the storage card effect in any way the program storage on the main memory?
I am runnign DCD 2.3.2, does anyone recommend moving up to a new ROM thats stable and clean?
Thanks!
Hopefully you have enough RAM free to install a util such as dotFred's Task Manager to then run and close running processes.
Your problem is that you are attempting to run too many apps at once. You have to learn to conserve RAM and only run what is necessary.
Beyond that, you are using what's now considered a rather dated OS ROM so the timing may be good to choose/build another for your phone.

Agreed. Flash new radio and rom and then install cabs to your new preferences. I do the same with my laptop once a year and they last much longer, run much faster, and are more reliable. It also forces you to do backups on your files.

connecting eris to a mac and 2.0 vs 2.1

Can u connect the Eris to a Mac? Also, I still have the 1.5 os. If I root my phone, can I still install the offical 2.0 release, or would I need the 2.1root release? Are they both equally stable?
One more quick thing.. there are apps that automatically load after I kill them in the task manager. How do I stop this?
Thanks,
Adam
To partially answer your question, Eris works just fine connected to my Macbook. Just shows up like a normal external drive.

As far as I know there is no 2.0 release for the Eris available.

nope; if it is part of a rom it stays. instead of building your own, you could install someone elses, i guess.
So WM is nothing like Android in the sense that you can delete system files from Android but not able to in WM?
When you say 'delete', do you mean 'uninstall'?

Indeed, I want to go in and make the WM system as lean as possible. Uninstalling or removing everything unnecessary or the programs/services I find unnecessary for myself.

correct (granted i know nothing about android; but your statement of WM is what i have seen as true). once it is cooked into the rom, it stays. the only way to remove it is to install a different rom. i believe you can delete things, though this is likely to cause problems and leading to a hard reboot.

there are many "lean" roms out there; some completely custom and some as close to stock minus bloatware. again, you are allowed only to uninstall things you have installed (not that are installed in the rom.) i would check 'em out.

adobe flash won't update

I have Vegan-tab gingerbread 7.0RC1 pershoot bl1.2.
Flash no longer shows up on my installed apps. When i search for it, It says it is not compatible for my device, google maps does the same thing too. Does anyone else have this problem too. I just noticed it last week.

Yeah, that was the only problem I had with that ROM. It seemed to always happen for me when the tablet would hard freeze and I had to reboot. Once it boots back up, anytime I access the Market, everything was not compatible with GTab.
I never found a solution other than returning to HC. It was a good ROM and that was the only prob I had with it.
Does [BL1.2]VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition v7.1.0 solve this issue?
Yes, it is much better running Vending 3.1.3.
If you have superuser rights, use AntTek App Manager to backup flash, than delete it from system (even sys application version), the Hulufied version from ASOP Ginger posts. You might need to install, update from market, remove, and install Hulufied version to stick.
Just download it on the PC..then hook up your GTab to the PC...drag the Flash 10.3 (Yes that one will work) into the storage on the device. Then download it from there.
All the apps (And there was ALOT) that shows up Non Compatible with your device in the Market...will actually work if you do it that way.
Thank you for all the responses. I went for the upgrade option to Vegantab 7.1. I am very pleased.
