Hi,
I have a v1605 (HT645 supplied in the UK) which I have SuperCID'd, then updated to the Tytn 1.35 ROM, downgraded to SPL 1.04 and then installed the 1.20 Radio upgrade.
I am very happy with this setup now and have found it much more reliable than the Vodafone ROM.
I have been playing around with different ROMs and each time I have to manually setup all the settings in Connections for MyISP GPRS/3G, WAP, and Business Email for Vodafone UK contract.
Whilst I can do this each time successfully, does anyone know where the settings can be easily installed from the original Vodap001 ROM for the v1605. I have looked through the extended rom for this and that sets up most of the MMS Messaging and 3G icon, etc but not the Connections settings.
Is there a .cab that does this or am I just going to have to keep typing in these settings every time I change a ROM?
I have searched but see most people entering the settings manually so I guess I am asking for something that is not possible ..... but don't ask, don't get..... or otherwise learn!
Thanks
John
I don't know, but probably the cab file for connection settings is installed in \windows\preautorun.txt
Thanks pof, makes sense now, just wish I had looked before I started upgrading the ROm. I naively thought it was part of the extended ROM cabs.
Does anyone still have a Vodafone v1605 with the UK vodafone ROm installed. If so, it would be a great help if some could post the contents of preconfig.txt or preutorun.txt from the Windows folder. Otherwise I'll just have to wait until I get 3 hrs to go back to the original ROM and then go forward again to the HTC one.
Thanks if anyone has the file(s) otherwise no problem and I'll just have to convince the wife that another 3 hrs messing with the phone is actually fun!
Thanks
John
Greetings everyone,
I have an Alltel PPC6800 which I've updated with dcd's 3.2.2 kitchen rom. I first installed the 2.40 olie boot loader, followed by updating the 3.37.20 Radio, updated the ROM, ran the carrier cab, and activated it successfully.
Whenever I try to connect to the internet through PIE, it first tells me my username and password is wrong. I looked this up and many suggest using the [email protected] with the password alltel. Unfortunately, it still claims there's issues connecting.
Reading the wiki . . . it seems there might be a problem on their end? Or is there still something to check/fix on my end?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried doing *228 option 2?

alltel user here..yeah i don't have to re-activate the phone, but that sounds like the issue if you ran the carrier cab "on the device". I think a long time ago i had to *228 it, but nothing since. like the previous post said...try that...that might get it.

Sorry. I meant option 3 activate new phone, but yes I have alltel also and had to do that after upgrading the radio. Option 3 will reprovision your phone.
Well I upgraded to DCD 3.2.4 and 3.42.50 radio rom. For some reason now I cannot get a connection through WiFi , it gives me errors such as: Cannot obtain a server assigned IP address. Try again later or enter and ip address in network settings. It also says it cannot connect to the network at times.
I am on the Verizon Wireless network. Thank you in advance for your help.
Anyone???????
Did you install the customization?
do you have wifi router install
If you have WiFiRouter installed, wireless will not work until u remove it from the list.
ill find the cab you need to fix it the wifi router changes reg files and theres a cab around here that fixes it
I installed WMWifiRouter im not able to remove it from my programs list no matter how I try. That shouldn't be the problem either way because it did this before I even installed the software.
if you dont have access to your router you have to wait until your connection/ip clears out.
if you do have access clear out your ip from router setup and reconnect
Here is the fix i found the cab.
Installed CAB still same problem: Cannot connect to the network. Check your network and service provider settings and try again. Also cannot obtain a server assigned ip address. Try again later or enter an ip address in network settings.
Anyone can help?
I really need my WiFi to work .... if it costs to fix this problem I will.
Did you install the carrier cab?
I have had the same problem since upgrading to 3.3.4 from 3.2.6. I ran the carrier customization and everything else works just fine. I have DCD's version of the 3.42.50 radio. The wifi switch is on and if you hit wifi in comm manager the icon blink on and then off in about 1 second. I don't have wifi-router installed. I'm kind of lost at the moment, but haven't had a chance to downgrade to 3.2.6 to see if it works again to rule out the wifi radio being dead.
Same Problem
I am in Canada and have the Mogul (Telus P4000) with DCD 3.2.5 Radio 3.42.50 and the WIFI is NOT working and I have NEVER installed WiFiRouter.
Is it a radio version problem?
Any help would be appreciated
same problem here, I updated the ppc6800 to the last rom from sprint 3.35 with dcd 3.01 from bell and still same thing the wifi is not working.
is it one hardware problem or can I fix with with a cab file ?
DCD 3.0.1 is so old. Use 3.3.4 or 3.2.6 instead and do a reflash to fix the problem.

thank you
here's whats up... first of all... I want to thank everyone here for their amazing info and files. these last few days have been a real eye opener for me to look and learn new things. that being said....
I have a uscc 6800. I upgraded to nue spl 2.47 then to radio 3.42.5 then went to dcd 3.3.4 as i had read it was stable and opperating well. I think thats where i goofed. I allowed it to set up its own settings then I ran the uscc carrier cab.
I have no internet. my #777 says I need a valad password and username but had never had one before. my fiance's phone doesnt need one... (I'm not touching hers at this point in time)
any thing... any help.... any hints tips etc. PLZ
ok. i think i get it now.
here is the biggest issue I have.... I have checked epst and it appears to all be the same. was there some step I missed... is there some fix I'm not finding or am I just screwed?
With USCC I have always found it best to use QPST to backup and restore the phone's programming before/after flashing. Then there is only 1 thing that has to be edited in EPST when it's all said and done.
What kind of phone is your GF's? The same model?
If so you can use QPST to read her phone's programming and update the MSID/Phone # info and write it to your phone and it should work.
QPST info is not the same as EPST info, they do have some cross over but both also contain unique info and when you upgrade to a v3.x radio, it trashed alot of the settings in QPST, which is why it's best to back it up first.
BTC
This sounds like something I've done in the past, but not with USCC. I had flashed a dcd ROM and then installed a carrier cab, but it continued to ask for a valid username or password. There are a couple of things you can do. First, do a hard reset of the device, then install your carrier cab. AS SOON AS installation completes, soft reset the device. If your connection is still not working, go to Settings>Connections>Connections and try to configure or set up a new modem connection. You will have to enter in the username and password for USCC internet. This information can easily be found in EPST also.
thanks for the help guys
I appreciate every thing u guys suggested but had failed to report back that I had fixed it... infact my gf's phone was the same and I did go back and compare the two epst's and had found that a 2 had changed to a 1. changed that back and got my svcs back. I have however been looking for the qpst that everyone is speaking of but am at a loss as to where it is... any help?
QPST is available on the internets, somewhere. Do a Google search, I doubt it'd be safe for anyone to actually post that file on here. But you'll need to put the device in diagnostics mode to use QPST and also will need the modem drivers.
I'm sure if you search the XDA forums you'll find something
I have been having problems changing my number on my phone. I am using DCD 3.3.4 and radio 3.42.50. I can not access the page where i can change my number on the phone. I have the number changed on the bell network. When ever i put the code in, ##564848#, the phone starts dialing. If i do ##564848 then it tried to load EPST and closes. I talked to bell IT and they gave me a link to get the factory bell settings rom.

I am using the new boot loader 2.47no2chem i believe. If i try to load the rom, will i run into problems? Does anyone know of a better way to change my number? Thanks for any help in advance.
Cheers,
Andrew

I was just talking about something similar over at geeks.
#codes do not work with some of the dialers.
Do not know if it will work, but find a dialer cab to install and retry. Worth a shot anyway.
I know this one has worked for me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429179
Thanks for the link, ill try it out. They say to uninstall the previous cab how do you do that?
I also been reading around that i need to install a cdma dialer cab, and this might be the problem why i cant get into the EPST page. If anyone has any more ideas let me know.
I installed another dialer cab with no luck. I installed the cab from the link mattsm posted above with no luck. It tries to load the page and then closes. I was thinking, I installed a DCD 3.3.4 rom but was that rom intended for GSM phones or cdma? I think the settings page was removed from the rom. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I want to install the rom from bell to get factory settings but i have a new boot loader, so will this be a problem? Thanks in advance
Cheers
The only other thing I think you could try is qpst.
It lets you edit the epst settings from your pc.
you will need the qpst program, htc drivers
google the qpst and I will post some drivers you need in this post with an edit.
after you get the drivers intalled and qpst on your pc, You will enter ##3424# on you phone and hook up your usb to phone and it will install the drivers. Let me find the link to qpst help and I will post it as well. I am sorry right now I am busy but will post these before I leave.
You can try my Diagnostic Shortcut CAB located in my HTC unlock directory, you dont even have to soft reset the shortcuts show up in programs/diagnostic folder.
There is also HTC windows drivers, Active sync 4.5, QPST 2.7 build 3.01 works perfect with TITAN, and many other tools. Plus instructions.
http://www.4shared.com/dir/13899878/aef6ea49/HTC_to_Windows_Drivers__Unlock_Tools.html
Start from ground up EPST change your number, MIN, anything you have to change to switch phone numbers. Then double check using PST and correct any settings. Let me know if you still have problems accessing PST with codes or shortcut. I will make you a Bell CAB that will fix your programming codes.
Enjoy!
Thanks alot for the help. I have to head to class right now but i will be back later today and try it out. When you say drivers, which drivers are you referring too? the drivers for my phone on vista? If you post some steps, i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

thanks, He has the link. Got to go will check back later. Good Luck.
Yes the HTC windows drivers get installed on your PC. Then QPST, then put the phone in Diag Mode, then plug it in with active sync usb connections disabled, then access Service Programming using QPST. The instructions (SPCunlockinstructions.txt) are on my share site, they will at least get you into Service Programming the rest is up to you.
Another thing I found is to disable driver signing in Vista press F8 while booting up and disable driver signing. Also if you do a search on XDA for HTC vista drivers you will find a thread with some drivers and information you can try.
Thanks alot RyanMogul6800. I have downloaded most of the files that you have mentioned. I can't try them out until monday, but ill give them a shot for sure. Thanks again. The Bell cab you mentioned, is that the problem? I can't seem to understand why in the dialer it tries to load the page and then closes as if it was missing. Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Andrew
Thanks alot Ryan. I used the program and I changed my number with the qpst. It works now!!!
Cheers,
Andrew
