Yes; I flashed the ROM on my XV6800 (Verizon's Titan) to DCD 3.2.6, Radio 3.42.50 and ran the Verizon cab. The phone was mostly running fine for a few days (except for a few "normal" WM freezes).
Then my phone's battery recharging mechanism went crazy (as per this post). Until one morning I found that the phone wouldn't start anymore...
Removing the battery didn't wake it up. Soft- and hard-resets don't do anything. I even bought a new battery, hoping that it's just a battery issue or some mini-USB port issue. With the new OEM battery fully charged (with OEM charger), the phone still doesn't want to start.
When I plugged in the USB cable to the device today, the RED (right) LED lighted up for a few seconds; then disappeared. I couldn't get the red LED to light up again on subsequent tries.
Unfortunately, I bought this phone second hand and noticed that the manufacturer's warranty expired just two months ago.
Is my phone really dead? Anything else I can try to revive it?
Any guess on how the Verizon technician would handle this if I were to bring the dead phone to a Verizon store?

I had the exact same thing happen on my Vogue. It was because I hosed the flash. Oooops.... I did recover very easily however. This may or may not work for you so good luck in advance.
Try to put the phone in "boot loader" mode by pressing camera and power at the same time then use your stylus to press the resert hole at the bottom. This will bring you to the infamous try color screen. Just flash an official OS ROM back to the phone and start all over.
If it does not go to boot loader then I would be concerned.
Thanks. Can't get to bootloader. Sigh...

Sorry to hear. I would continue to search. Do you have a warranty on it? If so just call them and say it wont power up. No need to volounteer why. They will replace it after they do things like have you remove the battery, etc.
Good luck to you.

Let me know if you find a fix. I heard that there is not one available on these boards. If you find please let us know.

Double check that.
Didn't the xv6800 get released in November of 2007? Hard for the one year warrant for be expired by 2 months.
Sure sounds like you have bad hardware and you aren't likely to fix it.

Hi All,
My Prophet just died...
I made a RadioROM upgrade and after a reboot I did an IPL upgrade. I did a soft reset and now it doesn't want to turn on. I'm really confused what did I make wrong and how can I redo it.
I'm looking forward to a helpful info.
Thanks
Does your screen stay black or does it display anything? Can you enter bootloader? And why would you want to upgrade your IPL???
My screen is dark black, I can not even turn it on. I doesn't matter what sort of switch I press on the dev. So I can't see the bootloader and I think it's a serious problem...
After the IPL upgrade the reboot was succesful and on the startup screen it says IPL 2.20.0001 and worked for a while.
I've changed my local settings, which reqiures a soft reset, so I did it. After this, no aswer...
I'm very dissapointed because of the pda and your help dear all...
Is your battery dead? Try it with your charger.
No, my battery was fully charged before I ran into this major problem...
I had a similar issues which was misteriously resolved after a few plug ins and battery removals. I also let the battery completely drain and removed it from phone for a few hours. It worked when connected to wall charger but not with battery. It seemed like interior phone battery was dead. One day I connected it to the wall charger and the battery status when from zero to 98% and it stayed there. Really weird stuff. I ordered another battery and so far so good. One of the batteries did die and i discarded it, but I still use the other old battery plus I have a new spair.
Yamilrx, thanks the info...
I'll try it, but I've lost my faith in this device. It's in clinical dead state for 2 days from now, and it looks like doesn't want to wake up or alive.
This is a very misteroius issue.
I don't understand it, if I upgraded wrongly somebody tell me, why was the device started after? And if it was a wrong update, how can I turn it on and make calls, etc. and after a soft reset it DOESN'T reply for anything?!
I bought it almost 2 years ago, so I assume the battery could cause similar problem. But it was almost fully charged. The Star Wars was less incredible then this thing...
Except this, I'll accept your advice. I'm going to try it.
try the following, as your device is dead and curently noy useable.
-remove the battery for a day and just leave it there
- put in the battery and connect the charger
- hold your camera button while turning the device on
do you get into the 3 colored screen? if so, the device can now be downgraded etc.
particular reason why you have not tried a HARD reset?

Thanks, I'll try it first after go to a shop and buy a battery.
Anyway, when I mentioned I've tried all the combinations of the buttons, I meant i did a hard reset too. But my Spleeping Beauty is still doing the same...
The problem hasn't been solved by the solutions you have mentioned before, so I've called the HTC technical support, they were very friendly - they must be because I'll pay for it - and 2 days from now they will tell me how much does it costs or it is repairable or not...
Thanks for your help.

I did that with mine to see if it would reset device once the internal battery is totally discharged. Like I said earlier, mine came back to live. Make sure you install the WM 5 rom used for downgrading and don't try any of the WM 6 roms until the device is fully functional with wm5. The batteries are $8 on ebay but they take 1 week to get here from Hong Kong.
If winter comes, can sping be far away?
Hi All,
The service technician examined my Prophet and he said, I have to change a mainboard. Have you ever run into this kind of problem? If I want a repair, it'd cost me 300 Euro!!
Luckily I still have a warranty, so I hope I don't have to pay for the service.
Take care your Prophet...
Ok, so first off, I upgraded to 6.1 from 6.0 a year ago. I am using SPL 2.40 and radio 3.27
I was looking at the 6.5 roms and thought maybe it was time to upgrade again. I tried the last 2 6.5 roms and found that after flashing my camera and speaker stopped working. So then thought I may as well down grade back to 6.1
I was using dcd 1.3.0 (I think) originally but then saw that the next stable version was 2.3.2 so decided to use that.
After flash all was good with the world. Camera ok, speaker ok, all good. about 24hrs later my phone shut down (with a fully charged battery). I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. Plugged in the wall and then the PC still nothing. I also tried to boot into the boot loader (power+Camera+reset) still nothing.
Am I out of luck? Can I get a service doc to trouble shoot myself? or do I now own a PPC paperweight?
Thanks for any help (I did try searching the forums but found nothing like this for the 6800)
Big mistake. That old of a dcd rom is probably 6.0. You might have messed your phone up good. Does it light up if you plug it in? If so what color? You need something like DCD 3.3.4.
Can you put your phone into bootloader?
No it literally will not power on at all. Boot loader or otherwise. Also no led when plugged in the wall or in the PC. I think it fried a chip or something. But it did work fine for about a day or a day and a half. As well when it shut down I wasn't even using it. It was in stand-by mode. If I could track down a service manual I may be able to trouble shoot the chip, but have already paid for one site with no luck and don't want to repeat that (could add up )
Pull the battery, make sure it's unplugged. Put the battery in. (You need to press power button for 1 second to turn it back on) See if any lights come on, if so press power + camera and hit reset, if it gets you to the Bootloader screen, you can just flash up to a newer rom.
If you had 6.1, you probably had a GPS enabled radio, and therefore can install any V3.x rom from DCD and be back up and running.
When you first power it on, it has some numbers in the bottom right corner, if they will show up, write them down and post them back here, from that we can determine which rom you need to install.
BTC
if you can get it into bootloader, i would flash a newer radio before anything else. youre doing some serious version jumping, but generally any custom rom you flash should be using radio 3.42.50. also, 3.2.5 or 3.2.6 are completely stable.
Nope, still not powering on... tried everything I could think of and some stuff I didn't. As far as firmware goes I was using 3.27.00 with SPL 2.40 Bootloader.
If I can't figure it out, I need to decide if I am going to buy out the last year of my contract, get it repaired (if possible), or buy a new one at full price (ouch).
After this phone nothing else will do for me LOL... I love my WMPPC!
I'd try charging the battery with another Titan or with a battery charger.
Another thing to check is whether you get a red LED light when you have the charger plugged in to the phone, but no battery installed.
Ok, so it seems that it is totally unrelated to the flashing process. I opened the phone today to see what I could see. A few weeks ago the vibrate stopped working and I figured that the motor burned out and didn't worry about it. Well it turns out that the little bit of glue that holds the motor in place gave out and it was moving around in the phone. It finally crossed a couple of terminals and shorted out the board. Thanks for the input guys. Got another Titan on the way to play with now
Hi I just recently bought an HTC HD2 and I got it used. I checked out the phone pretty well and it worked fine when I purchased it. I got home and the battery was dying and eventually died before I got a chance to charge it. So I left it on the charger, the LED light came on and was flashing as if it was charging so I went out for a bit. Once I came back I noticed the LED wasn't on anymore so I tried to start up the phone and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took out the battery and put it back in still nothing. I've even tried using a different battery and still have the same results. I talked to T-mobile and they said to try going into boot mode by powering up holding both volume keys and the power button and I cant get it to start up at all. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

When battery is charging the LED does not flash. Normally it just lights in orange. Are you sure that the second battery you used was well charged? Take a tester and measure the voltage on the battery pads - it must show some 3.8 volts. You may check also if your battery is charging on some other phone to confirm that it is healthy before to decide that phone is dead.

just shows what tmo customer support know, , , thats a hard reset they've described, not entering bootloader.
Ok so on my lunch break I went to the t-mobile store and told them my problem, for some reason they were able to get my phone to somewhat charge and start up. So its for sure the battery. I have no idea why the secondary battery I used had no effect on the phone. After work I'm going to go find a new battery and hopefully this will solve the problem. I'll keep you guys posted.
winner!

Hi,
I hope I am on the right thread.
This issue started one week ago. I have a 4.1.83 (no root, no G-blur or any specific customization beside the ) just the stock Atrix phone.
When my phone is turned off, if I try to plug it into the wall with the moto charger the red Motorola logo came on, then disappear then came back on and keep doing that (on and off) - infinite rebooting loop. Before, the battery charge status would come on and the phone would charge fine.
Now it just does this unlimited reboot on the red M logo.
If i turn on the phone without the cable, the phone turns on fine and i can charge it with the wall charger after the phone is booted. But not when the phone is turned off.
Do you have any ideas on what is going on and how to fix it?
Thanks for your help.
Hmm... Is the charger the one specifically designed for your Atrix and you're sure you haven't done any tweaking to the phone?
Absolutely certain. Am using the original Charger and did not try to do anything special with the phone...I did not touch any system file nor tried to tweak anything.
Phone is 'stock' beside few apps I installed several weeks before the problem starts to occur.

If you had rooted, etc. I would say flash sbf and start over, but since you are stock, I would return it for a warranty replacement.
Can I do that even if I have owned it for 3 months?
Thanks!
I have the same exact problem but I have my mobile flashed, plus bought mine from eBay. Should it be a software issue?

You have one year warranty through Motorola. See warranty section in the following:
http://www.motorola.com/staticfiles/Support/US-EN/Mobile%20Phones/ATRIX_4G/US-EN/Documents/StaticFiles/ATRIX_LG_68014203002A.pdf
If the phone is defective, you are covered. If it's accidental damage, you would have to use your phone insurance through your carrier.
Can't be accidental...Phone is working perfectly beside the charging issue and so far.
Only issue is it takes 1 full day to charge it from 10% to 100%
Last night I plugged my phone at 9pm (60%). It took 8 hours to have it fully charged...
Thanks for your reply, I guess I 'll check with ATT first :'( and Motorola then....
Did you already try charging with the phone off through USB on your desktop or laptop? Maybe the wall charger is defective.
Do a backup and perform a factory restore to see if it fixes it before shipping it out for warranty.
Goodluck!

your battery and or phone is straight up defective, or something is wrong, needs to be replaced. no way should it take that long to charge. something go out of wack, and it sounds like faulty battery is failing, hence why it wont charge turned off AND takes forever to charge up when turned on.
Hey guys.
I have a problem with my HTC EVO 3D. I've been using it for a year and everything was fine until yesterday. I was playing Real Racing 3 when my phone suddenly restarted and then turned off before I could enter my PIN code and didn't boot up. I thought that it might have overheated or it was some crash or something, I put the phone to charging and it easily turned on (I must mention, that there were about 70% battery left). I charged my phone and didin't use it whole afternoon. In the evening, I was trying to unlock my phone (with about 70% of battery) when suddenly the same happened again - the phone restarted and before entering PIN code turned off at all. After that I wasn't able to boot my phone.
I tried charging it with original HTC AC charger and also using my laptop and even a car charger, but nothing changes.
When the phone is not plugged in to charging, it doesn't show any signs of being alive. I tried pressing volume down/up/camera buttons + power on button, taking off the battery for about an hour, charging the phone for ~6 hours. Nothing works.
However, I realised that when I connect the phone to my laptop, there is a 'new device is connected' sound, but I am not able to access my memory card or do something else. Also, when the phone is charging, the red charging light is on, which after a few hours turns to green and after some more time disappears at all. When trying to turn on the device while it is charging the red light disappears as soon as the power button is released ant comes back after about 20 seconds.
Sorry for such long story and for my bad English. I am very disappointed. I still have a warranty, but I dont want to take the phone there, because the fixing lasts at least 2-3 weeks and also since I'm unable to boot my phone, there are a lot of my personal information in it, such as passwords, messages, bookmarks and so on, left.
So, is there anything I could do or should I take my phone to service?
P.S. The phone is not rooted and never was. Everything is original and up to date.

Thanks. I took it to service. I hope they'll repair it.
I finally got my HTC back a few days ago. They changed the motherboard and I had to buy a new battery since the old one was dead and warranty for it was only a year.
But I've faced several unexpected crashes during these few days. I think 3 or maybe 4 times when I took the phone after not using it for couple of hours and tried to unlock it, the phone didn't unlock and instead turned on. I really don't like this, because if my phone turns off whenever it wants, I may be unreachable
Does anyone knows what that means and what should I do if this keeps happening?

Yes, the soft has always been and is stock.
Then it must be a hardware issue. If your warranty has not expired, take it to the warranty service.

Well as I said I dont want to take it there because it takes about three weeks or more till I get back my phone.. It would be the third time in two months and it really annoys me.
Couldn't this be software issue? I mean I've been reading some similiar threads and I found out that some app might be killing the phone. So I did hard reset yesterday and after that installed only well known essential apps (Google services and some others) and after that the phone didin't crash for almost two days. Unfortunately, it did turned off a few minutes ago. I've installed only 8 Ball Pool and Smart Keyboard Pro recently, so I will try unninstalling them both and let's hope the phone won't crash again. Is there any ideas what else may I do in case it doesn't work?

Id recommend doing a factory reset on the phone and not installing any app for at least a week to confirm its not a hardware issue, but I strongly believe it is. If it fails youll have to take it to a sprint store and hope the clerk is in a good mood and give you a new phone the same day.
try a new battery
The battery is new, I had to buy it only a week ago, because the service stated that the old one was dead.
