mtty with raphael on vista - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

Has anyone been able to get mtty (or putty for that matter) working with the Raphael on a Vista machine? I have no problems using MTTY 2.10 on any other phone except this one. On the Raphael mtty just hangs if I issue any commands. Could this be a driver problem that is specific to this device?
ETA: since this uses the qualcomm chipset, maybe qpst might be an option for this. has anyone tried that?

hardspl install problem (noob here) [vista x64, no sync w/ bootloader]

This is my first post, though I've been pouring over the forums everyday for a few weeks to try to get up to speed. You may notice that my join date is quite recent, but I only recently signed up! I finally replaced the broken usb port last night and then flashed wm6 from htc onto my hermes. This morning I've been trying to install Hard-SPL-V7, which failed, then I successfully ran the SIM/CID unlocker, and finally tried to run HERM-SSPL which failed. What seems to be happening is that after syncing and running RUUWrapper.exe the device goes to the bootloader screen:
Code:
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.03
But doesn't do anything else, and then the PC reports a disconnect error. I think that the device is supposed to reboot after going to the bootloader, but it doesn't. I have noticed that shortly after going to the bootloader, it flashes a white screen with red text, and then returns. It's so fast I can't read the text. After the error prompt on the pc (vista), I soft-restart the device and it returns to the today screen where everything appears to be normal.
What am I doing wrong? I read the guide for installing the hard-spl. RUU_signed.nbh is in the same directory on the pac as RUUWrapper.exe. The device isn't bricked. I'm stumped.
I appreciate any and all help. I know it's painful to keep answering the same questions over and over again, so I promise that I've been searching for an answer in the wiki and on the forums.
Also, thank you for these utilities, roms, forums, etc. It's amazing that so much is being accomplished by apparently so few.
***UPDATE***
More information is always better...
After wmdc is connected I run RUUWrapper.exe
I check Force using SSPL and go through the prompts...
Code:
From:
Image Version : 3.62.502.3
To:
Hard-SPL-2.10
The device goes to the SSPL as opposed to the SPL, I think, and displays this:
Code:
HERM100
IPL-SSPL
HERM100
SPL-1.09.ds
Then the pc prompts 'Verifying ...'
The device stays one the bootloader screen, and then the pc prompts:
Code:
ERROR[260] UPDATE ERROR
When I soft reset the device, it comes up to the today screen, and going to the bootloader displays this:
Code:
HERM100
IPL-1.04
HERM100
SPL-2.03
OK, I think I know what's going on.
I thought that I had gone through installing the vista x64 drivers from the guide but I hadn't. It doesn't matter much though as vista x64 really doesn't like unsigned drivers. I've not been able to get past that. So the issue was that vista x64 can't sync with hermes in bootloader mode. OK, fine, I guess that I'll be working with XP. Why oh why did I decide to try vista x64...
Has anyone else found a solution to this?

Id stay clear of vista when trying to do flashing stuff....it REALLY just messes with all aspects of the process, regardless of if the WMDC is up to date.
Best thing to do is to get 32bit XP fired up and use that its just so much easier and everything else you use wont have to be patched/tweaked to behave on XP. LOL my vista config guide should really be a sly 'Uninstall vista, format and install XP SP2......guide'.
when you ran the SIM/CID unlocker, did you run it from your Storage card or did you use your usb to install? i think i had a similar issue. it would always give me the error 260. First, i sim/cid unlock my phone via storage card and it said unlocked and everything, but it still gave me the error 260. then i decided to just try to SIM/CID unlock via USB and when i did that, i didn't get the error 260 but instead it updated to Hardspl v7. hope that makes sense.

Thank you both for the responses. I ended up going home and flashing on my xp machine. Our new work machines are 64bit and I had several options for os, and silly me, I thought vista x64 sounded like a good idea. It's been a challenge.
Anywho, hardspl is installed! I also flashed the black 3.0 wm6 rom, though my keymapping is strange for the additional key functions. I'm off to research an answer on that. Thanks!
Would it be possible to install virutal PC on vista 64-bit and just run a virtual instance of 32-bit xp? I guess my real question is whether it is possible to flash the phone from a virtual pc.
-thanks.
hi,
Yes, it is possivel , i do it, i recomend you using VMware soft, because virtual pc doen't have USB support.

Vista 64? Olipro?

I've been trying to figure this out... is it possible to run Olipro 2.4 on Vista 64? I keep getting error messages that it does not work, but am I missing something?
Hi jondixon:
In my experience, I recommend you to update your HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 only under Windows XP-SP2 with Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5
I run my HTC MOGUL PPC-6800 under Windows Vista-64 bits-SP1 with Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1.6965 but it's only for Sync with Outlook 2007
TecMan
SPRINT HTC MOGUL PPC-6800
ROM version: dcd 3.0.1
Radio version: 3.35.04
SPL-2.40.Olipro
While I do prefer XP for flashing, I have used Vista Ultimate x64 without any issues to do so as well.
I'm using Vista 64 Ultimate and I've updated my phone numberous times. Succesful every time.
I'm using Vista 64 Ultimate and olipro wouldn't even run. Why?
Same thing here. Vista Ultimate X64. cant use olipro, had to do it on my work pc which is xp 32 bit. but other flashing is no problem at all.
it is because the sleep4 command is 16bit which is not allowed to to run on 64 bit os
just edit the cmd file in a text editor and replace sleep4 with pause
now it will pause when it runs which means you have to hit enter to continue which should be enough a delay
i just did this exact same thing tonight without issue
Wow MrTek.. that worked...
But i had already done it on an XP32 system before I read your siguestion... damn... i could have not botherd the neighbor for his PC afterall.....
Yeah i wish someone would rewrite sleep4 in x32.....
Also.. its not that its "not allowed" its that its totally UNABLE to... due to the x64 CIA (figure it out urself..)

Just wanted to say, this worked for me as well. I was able to install Olipro 2.40 from Vista 64-bit with this work around.
you should unlock under XP/activesync. Flashing on vista x64 is fine, works great, but I didnt try very hard to run the unlocker under vista when I had an XP machine to install activesync on once and never touch my mogul with again.
On second thought, adjust the .bat as instructed above and dont worry about it. As I said, didnt try very hard.

For the utils we use, Vista 32 is fine.
flash numerous times with vista home premium no probs at all
how do you edit the cmd file in a text editor. can i please have step by step instructions.
My laptop is XP and desktop 64 for situations like this. I actually did ALL of my flashing via my laptop, didn't know until this thread I could still do it with 64.
Why not just run NueTools SPL Unlocker? Then you can get it all done from the phone and not having to worry about Vista or XP or whatever else...

AWESOME!!! Thanks for the help... I think I just successfully unlocked my alltel Vogue on Windows Vista 64! Did exactly what MrTek suggested... Alot of "hit any key to continue..." but it worked! I might have the same roaming problem that many people experience but hopefully I can fix that. Thanks a bunch! Now for some ROM cooking...
UPDATE: Solved the roaming issue by updating my prl (preferred roaming list)...
1. Dial *228
2. Hit option 3
3. Wait for phone to program and restart.
(I believe this can only be done while on an Alltel tower, or whichever carrier you happen to use.)

Probs upgrading Qtek2020

I run Vista and have "upgraded" the USB Drivers and followed the guide that should enable you to upgrade your devise in Vista as described elsewhere on this forum.
I put my Qtek in BootLoader Mode, put it in the crade and checked that the writing changes from Serial to USB and execute the HimaUpgradeUT_noID.exe from the [titipan.net]Hima - Helmi AKU3.5 ROM SP2.
After a while I get a "Cant Connect " error.
Now heres the "fun" part. If I just execute the file without going into Bootloader I get as far as the "Upgrading your Device" Screen. After a couple of minuts without anything happening I get the "Error 101".
Am I doing something wrong here or do I need additional Upgrading of Vista to be able to upgrade my device from WM2003 to WM5?
you can search around the forum for upgrading using vista as things with vista seem to work differently then xp
or you can try and get access to an xp pc to upgrade with

Hi,
You should flash it from Win XP since flashing from Vista is not (yet?) supported.
