Any news or updates on a TV-out function yet??
in ebay there is a power seller that say "For HTC Touch HD T8282 RCA TV Video Out AV Cable Lead". Is it true?
h*tp://cgi.ebay.com/For-HTC-Touch-HD-T8282-RCA-TV-Video-Out-AV-Cable-Lead_W0QQitemZ270330392815QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mo%20bilePhones_MobilePhoneAccesories_MobilePhoneDataCa%20bles_JN?hash=item270330392815&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1%20177
be carefull with what you buy on ebay, most times the sellers dont know if it work on the phone, i bought headphones for HD, but they were extUSB, and some people already here asked HTC, no audio control on ExtUSB, my luck was the seller... he made me a discount on shield. "HTC Touch" diamond has tv-out, doesnt mean that all the htc touch will have, wait for somebody crack the "TV out" the HD.
2 guys buy it let see what the feedback will be
I received my htc touch hd some days ago and I really like it.
But I just saw that the HTC Touch pro has a TV out and the hd not. That's really strange ...
Tv out is the only thing missing on the HD. I would really love it. I could put some divx on my phone when going on vacations and simply plug my phone in the tv of any hotel in the world to enjoy movies.
According to some sites, the HD won't be able to tv out ...
Maybe you guys know if there will be a soon a new HTC phone like the touch HD supporting tv out ?
The touch pro is good but the screen is small and it weights 30 g more than the touch hd. And I don't want to change my HD I just begin to enjoy it

That would be for the Touch Pro
The Touch HD does NOT have TV out abilities beyond that of a usb storage device your TV may support
Put your HD in storage mass, connect it with the original usb wire to your TV or dvd recorder ( need an usb port ) . You'll see your pictures,mp3,video files on your tv screen .
answer of HTC
Here is the answer of HTC concerning the tv out :
Dear ****, the reason why the HTC Touch Pro has got the TV function is because it has also got the TV Out exit. It is not possible to have the same functionality with the Touch HD because it is not possible to connect a cable from your device to a display.
Yes that's right, but you can use your HD as a simple usb key, connect it to your LCD TV or DVD Recorder and you'll see the files .

I WOULDNT BE CONCERNED WITH THE SCREEN SIZE IF YOUR GONNA USE TV OUT ANYWAY. PLUS THE TP HAS KEYBOARD, AND FLASHLIGHT. THE BEST 2 FEATURES ON ANY PHONE. I WOULD IMAGINE A COOK WOULD NEED TO BAKE UP A HYBRID BUILD ROM TO GET TV OUT TO SEND VIDEO, THEN JUST BUY YOU COMM 3.5MM TO STEREO RCA FOR SOUND. JUST MY THOUGHT.
HD is disign more for multi-media, but don't support for TV.
What the Fxck the HTC disigner doing.
after i bought my HD only realise this.
for hardware HD is not not much defferent then thouch Pro.
so HD sure can TV out put just need software or driver to make it work only !
Ok if thats true, Howcome you can use my mobiler on your pc and view, control play with your phone from desktop? If it had no tv out capabilities sureley it wouldnt display?
any new for the TV out ??
Anyone find anything cheaper
There was a device for the Sony Ericsson P900, which was a scart plug with a bluetooth dongle attatched, i never owned one but IIRC they claimed it could be used to display pictures and video.
There are a number of wireless scart leads..? The blackstone (as already noted) can display via wifi to a PC...
The only way is with something like this:

I think that cradle that he has pictured is actually a Diamond cradle with the plastic insert removed so the HD will fit.
For me it looks like this one: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/212118340/KiDiGi_Deluxe_Desktop_Cradle_for_HTC.html
But didnt find a shop in germany/switzerland which sells it.
Hope to find one of these (or equivalent ones) soon.

Your correct.
The insert has been removed - actually pretty dangerous as your likely to damage either the cradle or the HD - suitable only for a quick photo as you effectively ballancing the phone on the cradle with no support?
The usb port on the bottom of the HD DOES NOT support audio (cradle speakers OR usb headset) which for me is very dissapointing nor does the port support the TV Out function that you get with the Pro - the port is for charging and data only so looks like HTC will either bring out a completely new cradle OR you'll have to go with a 3rd party solution (Expansys already have one for pre-order listed here under accessories?)
I have the HD (collected from HandTec on Thursday) - I also have the Diamond and the Pro and so have been comparing them constantly for a few days now.
My conclusion so far for what its worth - the HD is NOT an upgrade from the Pro or Diamond - it is in fact a very different phone and should be considdered in its own right and not compared. As a business user - stick with the Pro - for general phone use - go for the diamond - for entertainment on the move - the HD "may" be the phone for you? I'll be sticking with my Pro for general business use and will continue to work on the HD for now....
Hope this helps......

The DELUXE looks very nice
On the deluxe image above, is that a large door/flap that opens up? Is that to support the HD so it leans on the door otherwise there is nothing to accidentalyy prevent the hd forcefully pushed backwards and thus damaging the usb connector or phone.
Is there any news about the official HTC Touch HD cradle?
Hope to be able to get it soon.

i bought a nice cradle for my TyTN a few years ago, it fit snuggly. Trouble I had with it, was it didnt always fit the little usb slot first time, it'd hit the edges and envariably start to chip away around the paint.
With all the people with chipped paint issues i'm already paranoid enough, i'm not sure I am going to get a usb cradle.
audio out
Do any of these cradles come with 3.5mm audio jacks built into them?
Hello all just joined, im also looking for accessories for the touch hd i just acquired, found this holder which looks good as it has a built in fm transmitter, i have used a fm transmitter on htc p3300 and it works a treat. im now looking for a docking station that will charge the phone plus i can play music through its built in speakers (dock speakers) any ideas anyone cheers all jez
http://www.usbfever.com/index_eproduct_view.php?products_id=1020
Do you have this? Or does anybody have it? I would like to ask how the audio is fed into the fm transmitter as we know that the HTC Touch HD audio output is on top (3.5 mm audio jack). Many ppl confirmed that the mini-USB port (HTC specific) does not output any audio like the other HTC models.
Does this cradle have another audio cable then to plug to the top of the device? How it looks like?
hello i will email them to find out as im interested in buying one if it works as well as the transmitter i have on my orbit. touch hd arrived today just waiting for the battery to charge. these phones are now free on contract for £35 a month

As the extUSB of the HD does not support any audio output, I don't think that any of these solutions will work.
Yes those solutions which use miniusb of HD will not work. It has to use 3.5mm audio plug in order to work.
Isn't it true that you can use the extUSB for audio with an 3,5 mm to usb adapter ?
Maybe it has one built in? Just hoping for it cause it looks good. Wondering what it would do when using a headset for callimg at the same time tough.

Indeed, it is *not* true.
Most HTC ExtUSB ports have the audio but *not* the Touch HD. If you connect audio via ExtUSB, you get a dialog screen saying that the Touch HD *does not* support USB based headsets. Also the radio will not play (ie, it is also not an antenna)
Most likely it is because the chipset has only one free audio channel and it is already diverted to the top connector. Why they still bothered to put in a sensor-readout so it detects you tried to put in a audio headset is beyond me. (maybe I are mistaken and the non-working ExtUSB audio is a software issue only)
Anyway, all those eBay sellers probably made the mistake of seeing a ExtUSB port on the Touch HD and then assumed their product would work.
fm transmitter cradle plus tomtom etc
Well I received this item http://www.usbfever.com/index_eprodu...oducts_id=1020 and as suspected it doe not work. I have also tried the fm transmitter that fits my p3300 same as kokkie and yes you guessed that does not work. So we need a cradle that has a 3.5mm headphone socket to be able to use the fm transmitter feature. As I research different things for this phone I have realised HTC have made a big mistake taking away the universal capabilities of this phone’s mini usb socket. I have also noticed a few features that have stopped working hopefully this will be fixed with a soft reset. TomTom navigator 7 works a treat with the feature to swap maps from Europe to USA/Canada working a treat. Which will be needed when I go to Canada for 3 months snowboarding here http://www.bigwhite.com/ amongst 3 other resorts, as I use this phone more and try to add software and hardware to it I will keep this forum up to date. Krusell’s leather case fits a treat but the fold over flap is a pain as it folds down and not over the top like their p3300 case, only a small thing but they are all starting to add up. Apart from that it’s a cracking phone
i have this item it's not working...device gives wrong..HD not use mini usb for spekear,headset...it's garbage.
i don't understand...why does sell this item.....
hd fm cradle
The makers who produce the fm cradles and the vendors who sell these fm cradles assumed that because the HD has a mini usb port it would support audio out so rushed out production of the cradles and are now realising there mistakes. I have been fortunate, as the vendors I purchased from http://www.usbfever.com/ have agreed to send me the Revised Version from their supplier when it becomes available in 2/3 weeks time.
Well after some time of waiting www.usbfever.com got the new fm cradle through. They tested it and reported back to me saying they were not happy with the quality and offered me a refund or exchange so I opted for the exchange. Just hope that some one will produce an fm transmitter cradle as good as the fm transmitter on this mp3 player www.netac.com/productshow.php?id=82&typeid=46 it has rave reviews

Please do! This looks like exactly what i need but i want to know how well it works before ordering it.
The main thing i want to know is if the device will allow MHL/hmdi AND usb functionality at the same time. Id like to use the note 3 with my Atrix Lapdock and this looks like it would be a start.

I like the look of this thing and seems capable enough, but I hate the idea of anything like that connected directly to the phone that way. I have looked for micro usb 3.0 and micro usb 2.0 extension cables but i'm not finding much. And what I am finding is kinda pricey. Amazon has two, but reviews on one are iffy and there are none on the other. I did find this site http://www.usbfirewire.com/uextendmicrob.html , but i'm not sure these would work with the desktop dock kit.
Might someone have hands on experience with a < 6" extension cable (either male to male or male to female) that would work with this? Thanks.
I also found a coupon code for 30% off brando products, but I can't see where to apply it on their site or the worldpay site when you check out. Anyone have any idea how to apply a code for them?

Desktop Dock Connection Kit
Hi everyone. I just recived my dock.
Unfortunately is MHL 1.1, so all you will have is 1280x720px on the screen. Also it lacks 5.1 sound support (al these features from MHL 2.0).
Works well, but you will see more detailed graphics on the Note III 5,7 inches screen rather than on an 46 inches TV Screen.
OTG Works nice (surprisingly, when you connect a keyboard thru USB, the note screen atomatically tunrs off to save battery and prevent overheating, very nice "hidden" feature from Samsung).
The construction looks cheap, the plastic hasn't nice finishing, but nothing too remarkable. The usb female plugs are tight as ****, so be careful when extracting dongles (specially the cheap ones) because you will left the half of the male conector inside the dock.
Feel free to ask any question or test to make.
Regards

Yeah, I found that one after making the thread. Currently listed for less than $30, too.
Personally, it's more than I want to spend and I don't like that it requires a separate power supply, but it's probably a more robust solution. There are knockoffs on eBay (possibly of inferior quality) for about $17: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1080P-HDMI-...ractor-Converter-Audio-Splitter-/271802547143

Found it for $9 on Amazon with free shipping (Prime)...should be easy to return if it doesn't work, too: http://www.amazon.com/Phantom-YoYo-PCM2704-Coaxial-Raspberry/dp/B00J5NCVZA/
I'll report back and write a review if it works!
Yeah, I found that one after making the thread. Currently listed for less than $30, too.
Personally, it's more than I want to spend and I don't like that it requires a separate power supply, but it's probably a more robust solution. I saw there are 2 version
a version with hdmi 1.3 and another with hdmi 1.4 and ARC...
with hdmi v1.3 is a bit cheaper, but I really don't know about the differences...
this is the only way I have with an old FullHD LCD TV to play 5.1 with my old DTS/DD 5.1 Kenwood receiver
I'm a little sceptic about the usb audio converter

No need to be! Got it today and it works perfectly. The blue LED is kind of bright and I wish it had an enclosure (eBay has plenty in an aluminum enclosure, but no empty ones AFAIK), but it looks like any board with the PCM2704 chip will do the trick. Not bad for $7-8.

Well, this is getting a little beyond me, but I'll tell what what I think this chipset/adapter does and does not do. Feel free to correct me, as I may not understand it very well.
PCM is the uncompressed form that all digital audio takes. DD and DTS are compressed, lossy formats that require decoders to decompress (DD TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are the lossless varieties). I have no idea what the NP can output via USB, but this card handles only PCM audio (most cheap converters only handle PCM due to the high DD/DTS licensing fees).
Uncompressed PCM takes up quite a bit of bandwidth and I'm pretty sure that optical and coax connections are limited to 2.0 or 2.1 PCM data, so I'm pretty sure this card only spits out 2.0 or 2.1. Which is fine, since my soundbar is only a 2.1 system and I want to use this specifically with Pandora and other audio apps so that I can stream without leaving the TV on all day (which I have to do if I run the audio through HDMI). If you're looking for a higher-end audio card that supports audio encoding/compression (or, rather, will pass compressed audio through to your receiver/soundbar/TV/whatever), the HDMI audio extractor is likely your best bet.
The Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro II USB Sound Card/Digital Adapter is known to be compatible with the Shield TV. It was plug and play for the user in the following YouTube video and he uses it with his sound bar, search:
"The Best Way to Add Optical Audio Out to Nvidia Shield TV Console"
Amazon is Temporarily sold out but I think you can get them from Turtle Beach.
I just got the Rosewill BK-700 Bluetooth keyboard with built-in Touch Pad to use...

it works well and is a nice option for those wanting to add a keyboard.

Any logitech keyboard or mouse or both with the unifying connector will work, but youll need the micro usb male to standard usb female adapter. te adapter is mega useful besides just this IMHO

I use the Samsung Bluetooth keyboard (the blue aluminum one) & S-Mouse & its about replaced my laptop completely... hell, its about replaced my PC, too!!!
....What i cant seem to find is a stylus!! I have a Note5, N-10.1, & the NotePro (12.2") ----I'm a graphic designer-- and I'm used to the S-pens and how amazing the artwork is that comes from using them.. I know there HAS to be a bluetooth version, or even a thin-enough capacitive stylus would do the trick.. I can create some amazing stuff with the cheap-o stylus i bought the same day as the tablet, but there's better ---i know it!! ...any ideas? ...PS, i've tried to sneak-open or even ask an employee to let me try some out at the store, but they never let me or i'm unable to do it myself without their help.. i've bought a few bluetooth digitized stylii and they didn't seem to want to work on it .......i'm tired of making returns.. lol!
BT keyboard, $77 on Amazon (this is cheap compared to in-stores when i bought it, but I price-matched with amazon @ BestBuy for $30-off!): https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EE-B...24&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+bluetooth+keyboard
Samsung S-Action Mouse, $23 now on Amazon vs. 39 @ Fry's... https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Mous..._SR160,160_&psc=1&refRID=M98MXVSCHHF9MCMVHMG3

I bought a Samsung capacitive stylus (from this site fonejoy.com/genuine-samsung-t365-galaxy-tab-active-stylus-pen-gh98-34603a.html ) with the intention of using it on the Galaxy View. However, it doesn't work on Galaxy View. It's mind boggling because this stylus comes with the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active and is supposedly an ordinary capacitive stylus (source: sammobile.com/2014/09/25/samsung-galaxy-tab-active-hands-on ) . Does a capacitive stylus work on the Galaxy View???
