were can i buy it???!!!!!!

very intresting, shame it doesnt support DVB-T just yet

i want i want !! too bad no DVB-T support yet.

Looks awesome, but at the moment this seems to be targeted mostly for Korean market, since the availability of DAB/T signal around the world is usually still in test phase and located mostly only in large cities.
If they can pull of similar device with DVB, I'm guessing they would rock the world for owners of Touch HD, Omnia, X1 etc.

TV
The one for EU market is under develpment. I'm running a test case for now and is doing well. I keep you informed.

Does it work on DVB? Any info is appreciated!

hi,
is there any estimation on price? because it seems to be a very intresting solution and instead of a small lcd..I would buy such accessory... so it depends on the price

Guys,
This one does not support DVBT but it has internal antenna.

The Anti-Anti-AP ROM version 5 - All That Anda Bagga Chips - Gold Plated Edition

I am here from the future to announce the Anti-Anti-AP ROM. It supports features not even imagined yet by HTC engineers, will destroy the Anti-AP ROM (even the german edition) and restore AP4 to its rightful place in the Universe as the ROM that changed the world.
Let me put it this way, if AP4 is not released, the world becomes a very dark and different place within 10 years. It all starts with the launch of a spy satellite running Windows Mobile and the Anti-AP ROM. A bug in a hacked up vueflo causes the thing to veer off course, utlimately resulting in a giant asteroid heading right for HTC headquarters in Taiwan... I'll spare you the details, suffice to say the Anti-AP rom will spell the end of our freedom, living in the shadows, hunted for sport by cyborgs designed by rogue scientists using the iPhone SDK 9.0. Ever try too outrun something with neutron lasers, nuclear hoverjets and Google Maps? You won't get far.
Immediately all must install:
Commander Olipro Athena Hard SPL variant 9 brainwave unlock thought pattern mechanism (alpha release)
PK AP ver 1.E+47 ROM
which includes support for:
Bluetooth 8.1
Playstation 9
VueFlo Quantum Edition
Slide2Unlock .99 (some things never change)
It can even run a ripped DVD of 'Big Mamas House' at close to an acceptable frame rate using CorePlayer 12 by BetaGeezer on the Imageon holochip (with acceleration turned off of course)
I leave you with this thumb drive based on the USB9 specification. Do it before it's too late...
lol. u guys come up with the best stuff. this is probably the best community i have been a part of. after giving the rom some testing with the bt while in work today i believe it is stable in 19202. this is very good news for everyone. i will need to send this rom to nikhil and ltxda to make sure. overall the rom seems to be even better than the 19181 build. i need to get the new build to everyone asap. the rom should be not too far off....

Believe me, EXCALIBUR (T-Mobile DASH, HTC S620) with the new Kavana's WM 6.1 ROM, opera MINI 4, External BT GPS and few tweaks is a STRONG competitor
I know, it seems foolish, but full kb, one hand use, landscape screen with the new sliding panel media interface... small. It is a young, sexy, lady compared with a famous porn actress: hard to chose every evening....
I choose BOTH !!!!!

lol. tell u the truth though. i like the new version of the excalibur but everytime i touch a non touch screen phone.... my fingers goes for the screen anyway. its too weard. i might stray soon from htc and get the LG Vu from AT&T because of the mediaflo tv service coming soon. thats unless i get word of a htc phone that does the tv service too
no worries. i'll probably find the service overrated, will have the phone, and return it the next day if i do keep it then it'll be just for the tv service and will use athena and polaris for rest. i do highly doubt i'll keep it though. im too used to htc phones

Help me pick a rom!

I really have a hard time trying to differenciate between all these alpha/beta honeycombs. Im currently running vegan-tab RC1 and have no problems using CWM to get around roms.
Im still on 1.1, but what bennies do i get for updating to 1.2?
also, looking for a rom that has maximum support for BT keyboard, and mouse, USH Host media support, and the docking station.
Anyone wanna help me out and point me to the next Rom of Choice?
Im trying to keep myself from buying an Asus!!

No.......................
wait for the new Archos tablets...
thats my opinion
I love my gtablet but viewsonic has pretty much dropped support so youre not going to get much past Gingerbread unless some Devs have some serious breakthroughs
by that time though the new archos tabs will be out and who doesnt want a dual core 1.5GHz tablet running honeycomb??
It depends upon what you want. Personally, I stick with Cyanogen 7.0.3 because it runs Netflix and Hulu+. It is a little slow, but if you limit the number of apps you install, it works well.

Umm, hate to be the one to break it to you, but there are already several HC ROMs available. I'm running VEGAnComb on my G-Tablet, and it's very stable.
With that said, the ASUS Transformer and the Acer Iconia are both pretty darn slick, and way better than the G-Tablet out of the box. I bought my G-Tab just before the big price drop, so the Transformer is only about $20 more than what I paid for my tablet.

true but none of the roms have flash working properly and have their limitations compared to gingerbread
right now this goes for almost every version of HC out there on every tablet though so its understandable
as soon as netflix and hulu start working on a HC rom Im moving to HC
until then im sticking with CM7
Im trying to get vegantab working again with hulu and netflix, if I can do that and get a good zip file I will share and would definitely recommend using Vegan-Tab Ginger Edition... best ROM so far imo

Actually, you need to check the Bottle of Smoke and Flashback threads. Flash is working in the latest Opera.
ive checked out the threads and i thought it was flash in any browser.
so is it only in the stock browser that its not working right?
I also know you cant play HD youtube vids and other HD vids which I can do with CM7...
and still no netflix
The ASUS Transformer is cool, but it is not a compelling upgrade from a G-Tablet.
Both are 1GHz Tegra 2's. I have the Malata Dock and a Mini-USB keyboard, so essentially I have everything the Transformer has. (I have Wired Ethernet, which AFAIK even the Transformer with the Keyboard Dock does not).
If you want Honeycomb just to say you have Honeycomb, there are several HC firmwares on this forum.
If you want a FW that works, and has many Tablet/HC features, there are plenty of those, including a Cyanogen 7.1.0 official release that's just around the corner.
I'm not knocking the ASUS. It's really, really nice, and probably the coolest computing device out there right now. But unless you really just have too much money in your pocket, it's just not different enough to warrant being called an upgrade from a G-Tablet IMHO.
Thats what I was thinking until I got the Asus Things the gtablet will never have
-decent screen
-1gb ram
-gps
Plus HC is stable out of the box I never got it stable with the alphas. While I had some froyo builds that were fairly stable it was still less stable than the ASUS.
True, but you paid much, much more than I did for my gtab. My Lexus is also much nicer than a Toyota.
Only because its the 32GB model I returned a present at Fry's and had $108 credit. Plus whatever the gtablet sells for. So it cost about $300. Would have been $200 for the 16GB model. It cost me $400 for the gtablet.

Think about it this way. The Japanese people don't buy any car that's not Japanese made. That's why American companies can't sell in Japan. And it's a pretty darn big market over there.
Americans, on the other hand, are dumbasses that would rather buy foreign cars because they hate America. They go out and buy drugs to pocket those foreign drug lords. Heck, they don't even vote.
My philosophy is simple. I live in America. I'm an American citizen. My siblings and I are all engineers working for American engineering firms building everything from bridges to construction machineries to softwares that run them. I live and work here. And I love my fellow Americans. Why on Earth would I want to put my hard earned money in the pockets of foreigners who hate America?
Sure, I buy foreign stuff, but only insignificant things like my nephew's toys and the gtab. I find it sad that nowadays it's so goddamn hard to find computer parts not made in China... the same Chinese that regularly hack into our systems to steal technology.

Future of Tablet Gaming

So, I bit the bullet and bought a Prime, I had talked myself out of it about 9 million times, was going to buy a used one from chin-a-ling (sorry mate) but my fiancee pushed me, and pushed me and I finally bought one... I am in love.
But the title says it all, I am wondering what the future is going to be. My hope is to end up being able to play Portal on this thing one day. With the fact that Bethesda has mentioned possible tablet ports of older titles, Valve has always been one to examine all unique possibilities. It would be incredible to be Chell running through the hall way, aiming and then tapping where I want the portal
Anyways, what does everyone else think? Looking forward to seeing what the major companies might do? Games you hope to see ported or even developed as a standalone counterpart from your favorite series?

I think tablet gaming especially on iOS has a bright future. Some of iOS's best exclusives have trickled their way to Android. But there is still a lot to be desired on the Android platform as far as games go. Currently EPIC is making fantastic games for iOS through ChAIR Entertainment. Hopefully they will one day embrace Android.
Well ios has infinity blade and usually gets games a bit earlier. That's about it IMHO.
Android has amazing emulators and most importantly full gamepad support.
There are also some really nice looking tegra3 exclusives coming. Definately infinity blade lvl of graphics.
I'd say the future is bright. Me personally I'm hoping for point and click adventures getting big on tablets. They perfect for touch control.
Gaming on tablets and Prime will be SICK! Just watch. Already amazed at the types of games I'm playing already. And I don't play b.s. ones like angry birds or whatever. Lol hardcore gamer here.
I used to be a hardcore gamer before I joined the Navy but after I got out I haven't had time with school, but I am a huge Portal/Half Life Fan, as well as a few of the other artsy FPS games e.g. Mirrors Edge. I KNOW the Tegra 3 can handle it, it is a matter of whether or not the big guys will believe in the future of tablet/mobile gaming. It is a growing segment of serious gamers, and I think that tablet ownership would increase as games become more innovative/complex.

And it works like a charm. It never ceases to amaze me that the first time I played day of the tentacle I had to clear my 40MB(!) hdd before I could install it, was supplied om an enormous amount of floppy disks, took ages to install and now I can play it on a apparatus small enough to fit in my pocket (in case of my galaxy nexus)...
They need to bring the Broken sword series to Android. I have both games on Ipad n loved them. Like a touch point n click. Graphics n storyline is very good.

There's an app or method to get apps not available in your area or whatever. I forgot what it was. I would think as long as you have a decent to fast internet connection, Onlive should work fine for you. Plus its a free app so technically someone could upload the free apk for you to use. Worth a shot.

Buying a Sony Tablet S finally!!!

Hello everyone!
I finally saved enough to buy a tablet and after about a week of reading reviews and watching feature videos, I made up my mind to go for the Sony Tablet S (3G +WiFi) (Model:SGPT113IN). This is my first foray into the android world. I wouldn't root it immediately. I need to get a little bit familiar with all the slang and technical terms used around here. I can see though, that a senior member, Condi,is doing a great job. My hats off to him.
True this tablet is not the best. There never will be the best tablet! Not even the so called great iPad and Samsung families don't deserve that title. There is always something lacking, something too low, some features too less....but given all the facilities in this neat tablet like:
SD Card - fine with me...doesn't bother me.
USB Host - a plus point for me!
WiFi - Can't live without it Don't need to be a 100Mbps or something more....highest achievable speed for our OFC is 2 Mbps.
Bluetooth - Won't be using much except for sending few jpeg files rarely) 3G (yay!)
The Design - Cool and stands out a lot in the mad world of tablets. Btw, I am really fed up of all the similar and boring plain looking tablets out there
GPS - I don't exactly know whether it is an AGPS (Assisted GPS) which needs 3G data or the real GPS hardware (not needing data connectivity)
The Size - 9.4' (1280 x 800) is somewhere in the sweet spot for me. Not too big...not too small.
The IR Blaster - the scale tipper in my decision making.
The Sound - Stereo (yay!) if you are thinking the sound is too low....let me say that it is for my personal use...don't intend to use it in parties
The Battery - Long charging time and short Battery life doesn't bother me as I am not living inside a cave. Not traveling much either.
Memory, Processor & Multitasking Performance - Suits me fine...I am not expecting it to perform like a workstation or a Core i7 CPU machine. I will use it mainly for social apps, light browsing, listening to audiobooks/music on my way to and from my office. A little bit of games/entertainment/educational app my wife and my daughter can play/use during weekends.
These are just from my point of view...my two cents...hope i have not offended any samsung/apple fan. Leave comments and share your thoughts please!!

Yeah...I have thought about it too.
But the price is about more than double...
Rs. 19,990 for Sony Tablet S and Rs. 46,990 for Xperia Tab Z
That was too much for me...
I wouldnt recommend the STS to anyone. Or the XTS, you can get much better tablets for teh same money atm.

The Sony Tablet S is a nice tablet. I own four of them, one of them owned since the first week the tablet was released to market and I have had no hardware or software problems with any of them. One of them I use at work in an industrial environment and two of them are used by my 2 and 4 year-old granddaughters, so I am sure you can imagine the abuse these tablets receive. All of them are running Android 4.0.3r5a rooted, which has proven to be a fairly stable and trouble-free release of Android. I do not foresee Sony releasing anymore firmware updates for the STS, but then again, my tablets perform well and do what they were specified to do, so are any updates really necessary? No, not in my opinion. So, if you know what the STS can and cannot do, and you feel it will meet your needs, then I say buy it.
I also own a Sony Xperia Tablet Z. The XTZ display-wise and performance-wise is a better tablet than the STS; however, hardware-wise it fails in comparison with the STS when it comes to port access and ruggedness. The XTZ is a dainty tablet, the STS is a manly tablet.

Hi Cat McGowan!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts....It means a lot with all the hype going on that this STS is costly and have no future since it will not support newer android versions.
You have made me really stand steadfast and want to own it all the more!
I have two laptops, a PC (all Core i7 processors)....if i needed any horse-powered work done, I have those.
The STS will just be a take-a-break device while lazying on the couch or bed with a movie or two and some light entertainments/games or when I am commuting.
I must admire you for owning 4 STSs!!!!!

Yeah...you are right.
But as I have said, the upgrading (to JB) is not an issue with me. I believe it gives me all I want plus something which is rare on other devices - the IR Blaster feature. Maybe Samsung has got it in the new devices but they costs too much.
For me, though it may be an average device with average component/hardware with average performance with no future support/update/upgrade, it has all that I need in one neat package.
Thanks for your concern though....cheers!!!
so so sad....
Today I heard the sad news that the Sony Tablet S is not available anymore in India.
What a bummer....I was so looking forward to it.
Just when I saved enough for it, and after all the questions and video reviews, it has all been for naught.
Can somebody please give me a list of tablets which has IR Blaster/Infrared feature please?
Thanks in advance.

What a bummer....I was so looking forward to it.
Just when I saved enough for it, and after all the questions and video reviews, it has all been for naught.
Can somebody please give me a list of tablets which has IR Blaster/Infrared feature please?
Thanks in advance.

I did some googling...and I have narrowed my search down to either:
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8000 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (P5220)...what do you say to these?
Anyway, I would gladly go up to $620 USD provided it has 3G + WiFi + Infrared + expandable memory (SD or MicroSD)
eagerly waiting to hear from you.
thanks again for your concern:good:

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 since it is the latest.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I was leaning more toward the Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-8000 though.
Yeah, the cpu for the new Tab 3 is Atom, the first among tablets to have this.
But the Note 10.1 is not so old and i've heard only great comments and reviews from xda here.
Let me refresh my mind for a few days and make the final decision.
Thanks so much for your help and concern.

Yeah it can be a bit difficult deciding between 2 good devices.
It is either the Atom processor or the S-Pen.
The S-Pen seems pretty awesome but in the same time the Atom processor will give it a ultimate boost in performance.

You know what...these companies just toy with us.
You will not find any device with all the good/best features.
They will add a particular feature to one model/device only, and another new feature to a different model/device.
Everyone would be happy if they put all their eggs in one basket!!
Do not get the Tablet S it will put you off Android tablets for life.
Get a Nexus 7 instead - Old or New. 4.3. on the old N7 really flies.

Thanks for the concern and insight.
Anyway, I've just place an order for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-N8000 for Rs.36000 INR (about $591.73 USD)
Thanks everyone for all your help in making the decision.
I guess I will now be active in the GT-N8000 forum now...see you all there!:highfive::highfive::highfive:
The sony tablet S was the worst decision I made.
The sdcard handling still sucks. No custom roms possible. Sony refuses to update it at all. And so on. Ill never ever again buy a android product produced by sony!

[Q] MediaTek MT8389 Tablets ROM Development??

Hi guys! I noticed there are no threads here about cheap tablets with the quad core MT8389 chip. Tabs with this CPU have more phone features than those running on Rockchip or Allwinner. For instance, this tab called Freelander PX2 has 3G and GPS. Most of all, it is dual SIM! You can see the full specs here: http://www.chinatabletreview.com/freelander-px2
Now I do not see many tablets with these 3 features combined. But I'm pretty sure this tab may have some bugs and as with most Chinese tablets, support for firmware updates could be a problem. I just hope there are already people who have developed ROMs for these tablets. Are there any? If not, maybe we should pay more attention to these tabs...
For the $155 they're charging, the HiSense Sero 7 Pro is a better buy at $129. Higher res screen (1280x800), same quad core CPU. HiSense has 5 point multi touch though (vs 10 point on the PX2). The built in 3G is a bit moot because the bands will mostly get you 2G EDGE data on any GSM carrier in the U.S (although the 850 band might get you 3G on AT&T in *some * areas where they have 3G on 850).
Thanks for the info LordLugard! HiSense Sero 7 Pro looks good with that price. Surely a great buy!
Do you own a HiSense Sero 7 Pro tablet LordLugard? Could you give us a short review of that tab?
I don't own one but reviews are all over the web and very positive. Just go a general Google search.
Here are a few:

Great find!

Great find LordLugard! I bought the Freelander PX2 a week back from Aliexpress because I thought they would have it cheap if anything. It's a 155USD shipped with DHL and it works like a dream. Only problem is the screen! If the HiSense Sero 7 is good, it'll be evem better with a lower price and better screen!
I would love to try out the HiSense Sero 7 Pro! Any clue where you can get them?
Everything works as spec-ed out. Only thing is that althought it seems to have a proximity or light sensor it isn't working or supported yet. Other than that it's great.
It is root-able with "Framaroot-1.6.0.apk" from an xda thread
And the manufacturer supposedly provides the stock firmware (not confirmed though)
The Sero 7 Pro looks PERFECT!
Edit! Any idea if they will be available for international customers? I would love to get a couple!

Unfortunately the Hisense Sero 7 Pro is exclusive to WalMart stores in the U.S (I notice you're in Singapore) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hisense-Sero-7-Pro-7-Tablet-Quad-Core-Processor-with-8GB-Memory/24805142. But i'll wager they might be available on eBay or thereabouts.
A general eBay search comes up with this http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...C0&_nkw=hisense+sero+7+pro&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Good luck.

Thanks LordLugard! Yea it seems like it Perhaps I could get someone to ship it over for me too! Yes they do! Thanks again Sometimes it's better to use ebay's main site rather than the respective countrys' to get all the items. Perhaps use a mail forwarding service in the US. Thanks again man! Quick reply too! It's 0730 here in Singapore
Noticed the Sero 7 Pro has no inbuilt SIM slots for 3G. The PX2 has Dual SIM (not that I even use them) and has call function too, being a phablet. But the Sero 7 Pro seems to be rock solid with NFC, HD screen (at least 720p!), dual speakers, 4000mAh (PX2 3200mAh) and most importantly would be its ability to attract developers and has support. I see updates that HiSense will bring Android 4.3 in too!
I forgot to mention the Freelander PX2 only has 5 point multi touch. If any sources say otherwise that's fake specs!
Thanks for the input guys! HiSense Sero 7 Pro is definitely a keeper. Are there any other MT8389 tablets that are noteworthy?

I bought this tablet after comparing it with other Chinese tablets/phablets. I'd say if your budget is about 160USD shipped then this 7" Phablet is the perfect choice. The specs are as listed and feels true to them. It is a very speedy tablet. Processing wise as well as surfing with Wifi or 3G. I went to look for ways to root it. xda forum has a method and it works with the Freelander PX2.
Only relative cons are well its screen which isn't at least 720p for HD videos and the screen is slightly white-ish regarding its contrast. Something I've seen on alot of reviews for Chinese screens. Nothing major but just to know. I will see if I can get screenshots of benchmarks I've done (Antutu, Vellamo, 3DMark, Quadrant). The speaker is a just a little softer than brand names. Of course the important point is that you get what you paid for and I'd say the Freelander PX2 has every buck squeezed out for the best fit of hardware
One teeny weeny itch is perhaps its Processor which states MTK8389. On every benchmarking app it too shows the specs are all in order. Except for CPU Identifier app from Play Store as well as when you plug it in to your pc/laptop it shows it as MTK65xx. Nothing to go crazy over but for those who're really picky, it might bug you. Nevertheless it's extremely speedy. I'm really happy with it. I think if you tried it you would get one for yourself. I got one for myself and everyone wants one Cheap and definitely good.
Just dont expect (serious) development on this Mediatek SoC.
Mediatek uses alot of Closed Sources..
All the last SoC Sources (MT6575, MT6577; MT6589, etc) are missing those important sources, and without it, theres no way to compile an fully working kernel, or compile an rom from source.
So, think better before buying...

Thanks superdragonpt for that insight! Nevertheless I must say without development the Freelancer PX2 does meet the needs of budget users. I would love for yhr HiSense Sero 7 Pro to be available internationally but the price would probably be higher.
Really depends on your uses. For a 155USD DHL Shipped you cannot go wrong.
Budget users would love it.

Hi felix.chia! Sorry to hear about your hospitalization. No worries because your review at slatedroid is very informative. Sorry too that I asked for your impressions, again. I didn't know it was you.
Anyway, get well soon! I hope Freelander PX2 will take good care of you while you're there!
The HiSense Sero 7 Pro seems to only support Bluetooth 3.0, however, while the MT8389 tabs should have Bluetooth 4.0.
Do you guys know if the MT8389 tablets support Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, though? They don't run Android 4.3 (which is when BLE support was introduced), but in some places around the web, the 8389 tablets claim to support Bluetooth Low Energy.

I'm not sure about BLE. Maybe we'll have to wait until these tabs run on Android 4.3.
I own the 3 of them Hisence, the freelander and the HD-89 with the MTK8389
Why I own the 3 of them? by mistake First I got the Hisence from Walmart with a 2 years protection plan and i need a cheap plan cell phone as well So I end up looking for one and ebaying a bit i found the freelander. Mean time the Hisence burned the battery so it was send for repairs and been a month and not returns of the Hisence. I was happy with my cell phone plan net10 good data speed, good coverage area, again found the Freelander 7" phablet. but I got disappointed because the volume was so low and was not taking the battery charge, try it to get my money back or an exchange, It was a total frustration, I almost put it in the trash can; one day I went to the attic and by a chance saw a Motorola cable and charger. Decided to give the Freelander a try and it began to chargeeee. But I already ebaying a bit and found the MTK8389 and I end up buying because in my work, I need one fast. Impress with the delivering, It worked good out of the box, The ATT net10 sim card worked super fine just added data networks and I got a very fast. Still I have plans for the other tablets, my family plan on Net10 will use them following that afeter the fullcharge in the Freelander all its failures dessapeared. Hisence has a HDMI and just a 5MP rear camera and not cell phone abilities. the other 2 will do very well as the monstrous smart phone in the market for just 200 bucks. The HD-89 Mini 3G has an 8mp camera that i need for my work, and impresive movie palying. Have not test its HDMI functions yet. so far so good. I may try to do some rooting later.
