Im using O2 Zinc.
When I up rom, I thought it's ok. But when the process bar completed at 100%, the install Wizard stopped. I had waiting for .... more than 1 hour but..... Its still "doin' nothing".
Can any one help me to repair it???

You can usually recover from a bad flash by doing a hard reset. At the very least, you should be able to get it back to bootloader mode.
If hard reset works, great. Just remember to charge your battery fully before flashing again. If hard reset at least gets you to the bootloader screen (tricolor, shows IPL/SPL, and when USB is attached, shows that), turn the phone OFF, charge the battery fully (preferably on an AC charger), and then try to flash it.
If none of these work, I have to ask you some potentially embarrassing questions, like: Did you use HardSPL or SoftSPL? Are you abso-friggin-lutely sure you have a G4? What ROM are you trying to load (and does it have IPL/SPL included)? What condition is the battery in? Have you ever had problems with the USB connector? Did you try flashing via bluetooth, Wifi, or some other method that has been strongly recommended against?
One last check: Wizards are also known as: Also known as Qtek 9100 / I-mate K-JAM / MDA Vario / O2 XDA Mini S / SPV M3000 / Cingular 8125 / T-Mobile MDA / Dopod 838 / VPA compact II
(...notice there's no Zinc in this list? Making you nervous? It would me!)
Open your battery compartment, and tell us what the model number is...it'll be under the battery, right above the FCC ID number and the SKU symbol. For example, mine is WIZA100.

I got an SPV M1000 locked to orange, unlocked it and it works fine. I though I would unhide then unlock extended rom, remove all extended rom, then replace with an O2 extended rom that I had backed up on my pc. I made sure that I relocked and rehid the extended rom after this, when hard reset it does everything ok, then the screen dims as if the battery is being disconnected, simialr to a hard reset where the screen becomes dimmer and dimmer but the light stays on. Any idea why. Basically I just want it to be an O2 phone, anybody got any ideas as to the best rom and extended version to use??
From what I can remeber when I did just the opposite to you (PAYG Orange sets up so easily, but not so on O2), and the M1000 has an earlier ROM than the XDA II. There could be incomptabilities between the programs in ExtROM and the base OS.
Unfortunately this would mean that you might need to reflash the whole device. As you need to re-install everything, it is a bind doing this - especially as you need to get the operator code right as well.
Always assuming that your m1000 doesn't have another issue, you may have to bit the bullet.

I have been stupid and once getting my MDA Vario II in the post I ran a sim unlocker from www.buzzdev.com been impatient I ran this through and it crashed at 90%. I then read further that this unlock was not actually for this phone. ( i know I'm and idiot, still kicking myself about this)
Anyway the phone now hangs on the windows mobile splash screen. I've tried getting the sim unlocker from www.imei-checker.co.uk but when entering the stage of pressing the (ok, power, and soft reset) button I can't get the usb signal to come up at the bottom of the tri colour screen to enable me to run the app.
Can anyone give me some pointers to get me out of the stupid mess I've got myself into. I'm sucessfully running the I-mate K-JAM ROM on the MDA Vario and have just upgraded to the VARIO II but have stuffed things up big time.

You used the HTC Universal unlocker and the radio part of your device is trahsed.

You can still boot the device, but GSM will not work because radio is broken.
In order to fix it, try using the "flash from microSD card" method, described in this post:

Which CID does the Vario II have? You should use a NBH with the same CID, but t-mob hasn't released any updates yet... so, try using the TyTN rom, the CID is "QTEK_001" and let me know if it works, otherwise you'll have to wait for a NBH with your CID.

HTC ended up replacing my device as even they couldn't get it to flash over JTAG after someone else had run the 'universal' bootloader.....
To start the device, do a hard reset then soft reset rather than press spacebar to reboot afterwards.
EDIT - I've had trouble with ime-check's unlokcer as well, with a working m3100 - try a different P.C to run it on.

Sorry to hear but I think your phone is bricked. If lights illuminates without the battery when charger is plugged in, its bricked. Your only choice, in my opinion, is to get another mainboard and swap it in.

Actually, lokiwiz 0.3 just added the ability to SIM-unlock your G4. not CID, for that you still need to go the imei-check.co.uk
I try to put AP DUAL 3.0 ROM on my AMEO with sim unlock.
Probably was CID locked, and so it was impossible to install this ROM, but here what happened....
When The Firmware Flasher rebooted the device at the first step when i pressed UPGRADE BUTTON my ATHENA died... no power at all..
I think at this passage the flashing process was not started at all, infact i did not see the tre coloured bar of the bootloader... IT DIED !!
It is impossible to power on, i try to plug the AC and no orange light...i i pull of the battery and insert the AC plug the red light is OK.....
What happens ?
Is there a way to recover my NEW DEVICE ?

So did it start step 1 at all? Did u try a soft reset on the device to see if that would boot it back up?
Try running the unlocker anyway. You might be surprised

See if you can get to the bootloader, what happened was that you used an older version and I'm assuming you got the x7501 which almost always is bricked when used with the older version of oli unlocker. I don't understand why they can't remove or re-label that old package, what's wrong with doing it???? Maybe less people would brick their device.

I did not use oil unlocker... i only try to flash with the ROM i say before, and my AMEO stops working before starting the flashing process.
Now my athena is died: without the battery i try to connect to ac cable and the red led lights up....when i insert the battery the red led lights off, i cannot enter into the bootloader because the ameo doesnt power on at all...
Please is there any solutions to this problem ??? It is very strange that the AMEO stop working ....before starting the flash process... infact when i push the UPGRADE button of the ROM flashing program, the ameo rebooted and died before starting the flashing process > i.e before the three coloured bars of the bootloader starts...

Ok but the unlocker told me : Athena must be connceted with activesync...mine is died..only red led without battery or no led with battery inserted.....so i do not understand how the unlocker could work..... What unlocker do i download ???
In fact.. i try a nothing... the unlocker works only if the athena is recognized...so only if it is power up....but mine is dead only red led without battery....no led with battery instead...
It seems impossible that a simple flashing destroy the unit !!!!

OK I contact HTC the told me to send the PDA to T-MOBILE CENTER to be repaired in warranty....but i leave in italy so i cannot send the pda in england...

Simple solution:
Remove battery.
Wait one hour.
Replace battery.
All is fine
No need to send back to HTC

Hello to everyone. I am newb here. I need a great men to help fix my phone. I got a Cingular 8125 G4 CID-locked but sim-unlocked device. Prior to upgrading, it finely works in a Cingular Official ROM and WM5. Now I decide to put some more interesting rom - a AKU 2.3 rom (if i am not mistaken this is a Wizard Love Rom). It was upgraded successfully. Then I flashed another rom which I am not familiar with the content. Unfortunately didn't go right this time. Now I am stuck with RGB screen. I even use shelltool in RGB screen (even knowing not to work in this kind of mode). In the middle of the process, the device turns off and shelltool hang, never show progress. I pull out the usb cable from the device. Then when I turn on the unit it gives me the RGB screen showing IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 with no splash screen, OS and GSM. I tried flashing different rom which I know is safe for G4 CID-locked device but no luck at all. I can get through 96% and the device turns off automatically and return to blinking RGB screen with on and off usb connection. Did I bricked my device? Please help revive my Wizard 100. Thank you in advance.
Nopes ! your phone is not bricked,as long as it gets into Bootloaders (RGB screen) its safe.
Download official cingular stock rom and flash in Bootloaders to recover or flash wizard_love rom.After recovering,don't use shelltool,its risky and old method,now a much better method is available.Either upgrade through 'SoftSPL or HardSPL'.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. I did all that, download the cingular official rom from the link I got from xda forum and wizard love rom and flashed it but no luck at all. It gives me the same problem. When doing the upgrading the phone restart at 96% and reboot itself showing different error every upgrading attempt. What I only got in bootloader screen is the IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 no OS and GSM (Radio Rom). Maybe I got a corrupted file in my phone. Or just my battery. I tried wall charging but no good. Should I buy a new one or try my luck again. BTW, the error message appeared during upgrading are 274, 302 and 260. The first two seems to be serious matter. Please help me.
Probably,the battery is the culprit here,if its not fully charged or not having enough juice,it won't complete the flash,there are many comm errors due to weak battery,try to get it charged and then try.
How many hours just to have a fully charge battery using wallcharging?
Or maybe my battery needs to be replace. FYI it's 1 yr and 8 mos old now.
My Wizard was revived this time. The problem was the dead battery. I bought a new one and everthing goes fine when I flash the Official Cingualr Rom. Thanks to zabardast_1 and the gurus here in the forum.
