I'm going on my hols next week and I'm looking at this folding keyboard to use while I'm away, but I just thought I had better ask for your opinions on this keyboard. Basically, I just wanted to know if it will work with the HTC Touch HD?

Are you serious? I think the name of the product speaks for itself.
Yeah, I was actually being serious was because i'm on a tight budget and it looked pretty much the same as the freedom bluetooth keyboard "http://www.moguldepot.com/freedom-universal-bluetooth-keyboard/14A42A229.htm" which supports both HID and SPProfiles, but obviously I'm wrong or is there some sort of driver out there? Sorry but I'm a bit of a noob with these kinda things.

This keyboard has just arrived, at first glance I though I had no hope of getting this working. Anyways, the first thing I did was run the instasllation disc WITHOUT my touch HD being synced with the computer, this cause the installation .exe to be extracted to "C:\program files\microsoft activesync\palm HID keyboard" I manually copied that .cab file to my phone where I ran it, it succesfully installed I then opened the driver on the device and held the sync key on the keyboard to no avil they didn't pair. I did a soft reset of my device and it tried again... -jump for joy- it worked!! I have this keyboard. When the HID driver is open I first put the keyboard in HID-mode (switch to the right). Then I tick the "active driver" box in the driver and directly after that I hold the B button on the top left of the keyboard until the driver responds with "connection" and the blinking led on the keyboard goes out.

Hey guys, anybody using a bluetooth keyboard with their StarTrk? Any recommendations?
I'm going away for a few days next week and would rather keep track of my emails using emoze and a BT keyboard than bring my chunky laptop. I'm still getting used to T9 (ie. I'm slow!) so using the keypad isn't really an option.

I dont use it much but I have good experiences. Everything works, even the softkeys (Left key = Ctrl + Tab, Right key = Ctrl + X, I note it because in manual for Windows Mobile are mentioned different keys). Driver works, input in all applications. I have no problem with any program (use mostly mail, IM, web...).
The only thing what is pissing me off is that you have to generate unlock code for driver on your phone (is on their web), after this you cannot use generate and use this keyboard on any other device (which use drivers (can be used HID, bud some functions are left)). You can get one more code via their support, but other codes are required to buy... They want about £17. Thats really sad.

Just one thing I forgot to say... Because of the clamshell design of the phone, you cant put Qtek on the built-in holder (as you can see Blackberry on the previous link) because Qtek is too tall and heavy so you have to have them somewhere next to the keyboard.

i use this, it's a lovely keyboard, and with the right drivers is massively configurable ie. have the alt+fn+1 keys open any app/shortcut, aswell as the standard function buttons for word, excel, messaging, calendar etc.
it's bluetooth, took me a while to find decent drivers for it - although there are a few that work fairly well. if you get one, let me know and i'll post the drivers for ya, save trawling again.

small cheap bluetooth keyboard
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a keyboard layout that has the letters in their "normal" places. I've tried a number of keyboard apps and none of them are laid out like a real keyboard.
While I'm at it, is there anyway to disable what I can only presume is "error correcting" that sometimes doesn't type a letter I press? I'll be typing a word like "well" and it will pop up the little preview on the keyboard as I type w and e, but only e will show up, presumably because it assumed that the w was a mi****. I've disabled all the obvious settings under keyboards in Settings. Perhaps it's a touchscreen thing, however, I'll look into it.
Also, with VEGAn 5.1, it's no longer acting correctly when connected to the PC via USB. It will appear to act correctly until I try to transfer a file at which point the PC hangs up and the connection is severed and the button on the gtab returns to "Turn On File Sharing". Not a deal breaker, but a bit annoying since now I have to transfer files via my micro sd card.
What is a normal keyboard for you ?

It changes minimally for most countries using roman characters. But yes, a US or UK keyboard would do the trick. I don't care if backspace or shift or whatever are in odd places, that I can get used to, but I can't seem to find a keyboard that has the three main rows of keys offset in the standard manner. I realize this is undoubtedly a side effect of android 2.2/.3 being a phone OS on a tablet, but I would hope that there would be a real keyboard somewhere. Maybe I'll need to look into what's involved in making a keyboard app.

I suggest you keep trying with the Tnt Western keyboard that is stock on it.
I had never used a touch keyboard before and used the stock kb for the first
time. Since then, I have used a few others that got installed in place of the
stock kb.
I like the spread out letters and the split let's my long thumb also do the "thumb"
thing. I also like the .com and @ and other extra things it automagically brings
up when you need them.
Who knows? It may grow on you!!!

Not an expert on this, but yes, I'm pretty sure there is. You might search in the
forums -- this is not the first time someone has asked this. And yes, you might
also use Root Explorer or one of the other file managers to find it on the G-Tablet.

I have the Apple Keyboard from my iMac and I would like to use it with my TF. It connects but after that nothing happens. Is there any way to make it work?
(One more thing: it has a Portuguese layout...)
To the ones saying I should buy the keyboard dock: I run the whole Lisbon (capital) and there isn't a single one for sale.

Your post is too vague to really start troubleshooting. Is the keyboard USB or Bluetooth? I'm assuming Bluetooth because you stated you don't have the dock which has the USB port...
So assuming you are using bluetooth:
Once you pair/connect the keyboard up, you have to MANUALLY select it from your list of keyboards so the OS knows what to get input from.
Apple is also known for using proprietary protocols to make things work so they don't work on other equipment. A keyboard shouldn't be difficult to work with.

Then it didn't sync properly. You may have to go into Bluetooth settings and select additional profiles. It should list a HID device or something... and be listed in your keyboard list..
Another thing, sometimes when new keyboards are installed, you have to go to language and input and enable it before it'll appear in the list.

I've checked Language and Input, it isn't there. It recognizes it as a keyboard and has the Input Method profile activated.

I have seen previous posts on this and the Apple keyboard and mouse will probably not work. Apple has changed something in the Bluetooth protocol so it wont be recognized as a 100% compatible Bluetooth device. That is why it will only work on a Mac or a in Windows with the Apple boot camp drivers.
is it possible that the keyboard still thinks it is paired to the Computer and therefore may not pair with another machine. This is just from research I did when trying to make the keyboard work with my Windows 7 PC. I tested it on work windows PC, then it wouldn't pair with Home windows PC. I took out batteries for a few mins then it worked with correct drivers.
try unpair the keyboard from Computer just to see if it will pair to the Transformer. in the long term this may not be suitable for you if you want to use with your PC and Tablet....
Ultimately, as mentioned above, it may need further driver support that is not available for the Transformer,

I tried using the Apple Keyboard myself via Bluetooth on both the Motorola Xoom and the Asus TF.....both gave exactly the same symptoms as the OP described.
You can get as far as selecting the passphrase/keycode in order to pair it and it's all looking rosy at that point but then......nothing.
I'm sure Apple has gimped it so you can only use it with their own hardware. Yet another reason why I won't use their kit. I want to choose what I do with the kit I own, not what Apple want to do with the kit I own. Frustrating at times.
Just got mine today, and am liking it so far. Few small issues I've run into tho:
The placement of the power button is exactly where I hold the device when I've got it folded to tablet mode and am using in in Portrait orientation and it's plugged in. (Quickly discovered this trying to set the device up while charging after first getting it! If it's not charging, I can easily hold the side with the power key at the top, but when it's charging, I prefer to hold it with the charging cable coming out the top.)
There's no way (that I've found) to set the keyboard, onscreen or Halo, to dvorak. I can readily enough install a different onscreen keyboard (switched it to gboard, in fact), but I'd expected to be able to remap the Halo keyboard readily as well. This might be a deal breaker for me, I'm not sure yet.

Halokeyboard supports only one touchpoint. I just want to play Dos games using emulator like dosbox but because of this limit I can't play my vintage games.
the Basic software Note Saver is definitely too limited, some better native software will be welcome. the second webcam on the keyboard side is useless,
I'd like a bordless larger screen for the same tablet size ,
coming from remix os i must say they handled the windowing alot better. for example every application can be windowed and every window can be resized. Although pen input on non-full screen applications can be unpredictable e.g. touch point offset so i can see why lenovo adopted a stricter windowing policy. hopefully nougat will improve functionality.
Not being able to change the default app
I've got 2 of these in the house, I use the Android one and the wife has the windows variant. Both are flawed in their own way, Notesaver on Android is awful, looks fine when writing but pixellates horribly when exporting and Windows cannot take notes when the screen is off, which I use a lot on the Android version. I'd love to be able to change the default app that the hardware button launches to Onenote (or even Squid or Inkredible). I realise this would probably kill the screen-off writing which is very handy but currently we have 2 very similar tablets, that can't even share notes between them without major issues.
Netflix offline isn't compatible... It's Android... How is it different than a 2 yr old $hit$ung 10in android tablet... ?

I bought the Pixel C and the Yoga Book as I couldn't decide on one or the other. I decided on the Yoga Book but not being able to use a gamepad, no ethernet support, and it's inability to fit in my awesome tablet holder w/bt keyboard is really starting to bug me.
I still have the Pixel C sitting in a box ready to be sent. Now I'm having second thoughts. Should I send back the Yoga in favor of the Pixel C?

The Halo keyboard is mostly okay for me, though it's never going to replace a proper laptop for typing (I'd hate to try to write a long report with it), but the thing I dislike most about it is the touchpad. It's pretty terrible, so I rarely use it. It's also much too close to the spacebar so it's very easy to accidentaly touch the touchpad while typing and move the cursor somewhere where you don't want it to be.
I cant figure out how to run a proper linux distribution (assuming it's possible). Can't even find a way to boot from USB (if any succeeds please let me know :crying: ) .
I'm getting random reboots all of a sudden on my Android model. It used to do this with an older update, but stopped when I installed the Dec 9 update until today.
Anyone else seeing the same?

Can confirm, but for me it got better - I think when installing the December update.
I've discovered a new problem-my password manager, Lastpass, which ties into the accessibility settings to work, keeps getting disabled! (android version)

I was getting the same problem too. A question in the Lastpass FAQ suggested disabling battery optimization for the app, which seems to be working so far. Hopefully it'll stick.

I like mine alot except that the left top corner tablet portion's pressure and touch is really really bad And there are couple areas (around f keys) where things get slightly wobbly when drawing.
Btw do not get me wrong but people who use online password managers must be out of there minds!!! They were already hacked, I cant believe that no lessons got learned there ;( Use whatever you want but saving your passwords to cloud just defats the whole purpose of security.

While I agree there's a certain amount of risk with services such as LastPass. Using a strong password and two factor authentication goes some way to mitigating this. I use LastPass and have it configured so only my devices can access my account, any other device is automatically rejected. Plus each time I do log in on my authorized devices, I still need to grant access using an authentication app on my phone. You can also encrypt individual accounts within LastPass using a separate password. So even if your account was compromised, these login details would not be visible.
No two finger scrolling on the touchpad, and the scrolling solution they use is bad because you can't continuously scroll with it
Minor annoyance is if you're trying to do a capital letter you have to hold shift like a traditional keyboard and not like on a Android on screen keyboard.

I think you must have done something wrong. because bluetooth gamepads also works with mine. I'm using a Steel series free with good results
