Hi
My S740 on Orange has an issue:
I use "HTC Home" as my default display, all very nice until I get an email (got the send/receive set to do it every 30 mins or so).
If I get 1 email, the display on HTC Home says I have 2. If I get 2 emails, HTC Home says 4 etc
Two ways of getting the display on HTC Home set to correctly display the number of unread emails - restart the phone, or change to another "Home screen layout", and then back to HTC Home again.
Works OK... until you get another email.
Anyone else get this? Anyone else know a permanent solution?
Cheers
Craig

I have a T-Mobile HTC HD2 1024 purchased on August 8th, 2010, it has all the new updates and stock ROM. I am having one issue with the device that really aggravates me. While I am in the Windows Mobile stock ROM and am receiving an SMS/ MMS message, the phone will freeze in whatever I am doing for about three seconds until it vibrates and alerts me that the message has been received. If I am not doing anything and the screen is off and I receive a text, the phone's screen will turn on, onto the lock screen for about 5-6 seconds before it alerts me that the text has been received. Does everybody have this problem and is there any way to fix it? Thanks upfront.
it's a known issue. it's HTCs stupid Messaging app. The only fixes are to either regularly delete all your texts (temp until it gets full again) or to disable HTC Messaging.
ok i have had several different android phones in the last few months and ive experienced this on all of them. whenever i receive a mms it always plays as a slide show. its always a 20s slide show and the first 10s is a blank black screen and then the second 10 is the picture. i can save and view the picture like any picture in my gallery. is there some way to disable it? i have tried different text replacements like go sms and handcent and they are still all the same. it doesnt matter what phone it came from. even when i send one it sends as a slideshow on my phone but just shows up as a picture on my gfs phone(iphone 3gs). i currently have a galaxy s ii but i have had a streak 5, atrix, and an inspire 4g. any help is appreciated
I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I've got my work's Google Apps account setup as an Exchange ActiveSync connection. This worked pretty good on my OG EVO but at the moment it's not working well at all with my new EVO 4G LTE.
I'm not getting the email notifications in my status bar even though its enabled and push notifications aren't working at all. They seem to be working well with the GMail application but not with the HTC mail app.
I've been messing around with it for some time now. Background:
Refresh on open is DISABLED.
Set to Push mail
A manual refresh works just fine.
All notifications are enabled (Email notifications, Notifcation sound, Notificaton vibrate).
Wifi is set to Best Wi-Fi performance.
I'm pulling like 10Mb/s on my Wifis but not getting notifications in the status bar or the vibrate/sound.
I DO get notifications in the widget (across that bottom bar) when there is email but it's not timely at all... usually until I manually refresh.
EDIT: I do get other notifications just fine (Facebook for example).
EDIT 2: Doesn't seem to matter if I'm on 3G or WiFi so I don't think that's the issue.
Im getting my notifications.
Open the HTC mail app.
when your on your email that you want to change click the 3 button Menu then click Settings
In Settings click on Notification Settings.
Make sure you have all 3 of them checked.
ON a side note my yahoo mail app and gmail app dont always notify me like they did on previous devices.
I have my HTC mail app set to check mail every 30 minutes for several key email accounts and at times thats the only notification i have that i even got mail.
Other times gmail app and yahooo mail app actually work like they should..
hope they fix it soon.
I was skiing this past weekend and we found an iphone 5 on the slopes. We turned the phone on and a message appeared on the screen saying this phone is lost and if found please call number XXX-XXX-XXXX.
Which we did and the person got their phone back.
Is there an app similar to this for the Android? I know not everyone would return the phone but just in case it would be nice to have a message appear on it and track the phone too.
Thanks

Click to collapse
Go to
Settings -> My Device -> Lock Screen -> Lock Screen Widgets -> Clock or Personal Message
Select personal message and input your message.
Mine says "Reward ***-***-****"
You could also just edit your lockscreen wall paper and overlay text on it so you don't have to delete the clock...
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
I guess you could do that..
Mine still has a clock, just a digital clock.
Hello everyone,
So, when I use Verizon's voice mail app and play back a message the screen goes black and I can not wake it back up. Double tap does not work, power button does not work until the complete message has played. That can get really old if you have a 3 minute message of silence. Anyway I was wondering if any of you ran into this and had a way to fix it. or a better voice mail app.
I think this might have some conflict with Android Wear, but I'm not sure.
Thanks!
