I noticed since the first day that I got my Sprint Htc Hero 2 days ago that there is some crackling coming from the speaker that I hold up to my ear. Everyone that I talk to can hear my fine and I can hear them fine as well but there's a faint crackling that's annoying me like crazy. I'm wondering if I have a defective phone. I'm planning on taking it to a Sprint store tomorrow to see if I may need to get it swapped for another one. Anyone else have this problem?
Problem Resolved
Today I went to a Sprint store to have the phone swapped for a brand new one. Fortunately with relatively minor problems I was able to get it swapped for a brand new one. I didn't find anyone else posting about this problem online so it must have just been a fluke. Oh well, I def love the Sprint Htc Hero and hope not to have any problems with this one because I'm not going to exchange it a 3rd time. If that happens I will be going to something else.

Quick question guys,
I just rang my local T-Mobile store to see what their pricing is going to be on the SGS2 and i was told they still have no idea... I have a contract with them that i'm using in my SGS2 i picked up from Phones 4 u last week. I wanted it sooner rather than later so i could get a good idea of the phones performance and still have the option to return within the 14 days if i wasn't happy or if T-Mobile can do me a better deal.
the guy on the phone said that he'd heard a lot of Phones 4 u's SGS2's have been returned due to issues with the device shutting down after a couple of days usage, becoming near inopperable... When i told him i'd had no such issues, he told me that it was because i'd only had mine since the 27th.... i told him that as far as i was aware it was only available from the 26th at the earliest...
Anyways, this seems like dirty tactics to me, has anyone else heard of such reports?? As far as my device is concerned its been flawless, and i'm certain that if this was happening we'd have heard of it on here, if not from bloggers and reviewers...
the phone call really p*ssed me off, almost to the point where i'm thinking of telling t-mobile to stick it and switching to the new Orange sim i have...

Sales tactics never cease to amaze me.
The majority of early adopters are on here, and there has not been a single report of malfunction
Jumping from t-mobile to orange, is like choosing between 6 and half a dozen (same company)
Move over to 3 or vodafone and enjoy high speed data (instead of the t-mobile 300 kbps limit)
No issue with mine and I got it on the 26th from p4u.
yeah i couldn't find anything of it, and as i said to him, most early adopters are going to be people like me, who actively use forums and follow pre/reviews etc...
i realise they have/are merging, but i really wanted to get a better deal upgrading, but tbh it was the guys cocky know-it-all attitude that really got me, i'm a huge believer in quality customer service, and when i originally questioned Phones 4 U as to why i should choose them over T-Mobile direct, i actually got a good 'honest' sales pitch, not a cheap-ass shot at the competition...
The T-Mobile guy even tried to tell me that the reason they aren't stocking it yet, and still not for at least a week, is due to the device having faulty software and told me to expect problems with my device over the comming few days...
Hope everyone else is loving their soon to be faulty SGS2's as much as i am!!!
Typical sales bull****. If there really is a common issue, its sure going to get noticed and logged onto forums. Unless its Apple, in which case the laws of fashion step in.
Has anyone taken their lte to sprint for the bluetooth issue after the 14 day window. I'm on 15 and cant go until sunday, just wondering since its possibly defective if they'll swap it for a new one or if I'll get stuck with a refurb. We just paired it with her car yesterday and noticed its junk. thanks.
Not Bluetooth related! My Bluetooth works fine
Just had mine replaced last Friday with a new one!
You should exchange it now...Might get a new one like me.
On other threads people reported of getting new replacements also.
I'm glad that I found this great forum! I'm due for an AT&T upgrade now and I have a few questions.
Is the call quality good? I read in some of the reviews that the call sounds a bid muffled. Is that true?
How is the reception?
AT&T is currently selling it for 199 while Amazon and BestBuy sell them for $99. I love Amazon, but since I want to get it from a store where I can test the phone myself, BestBuy is my choice now. I assume when I get the phone at BestBuy, I can test the call quality in the store itself and ask for another phone if the call quality is not good. Is that possible?
Is BestBuy a good choice? I read horror stories in the internet about BestBuy's bad customer service when it comes to returns or replacments of phones.
What are your suggestions?
I apologize for too many questions. Thanks in advance.
I got my phone from BB and wasn't able to test it. I had to get it unboxed but I ended up loving everything about it.
Buying from them would be your best bet because I believe it's either a 2 week or 4 week grace period where you can return the phone if you hate it.
Which you probably won't. (;
In terms of quality, none of my calls have been muffled. Everything is pretty clear aside from being held on hold for 20 minutes and that crappy music. It goes in and down but I assume that's just because it's a little dodgy because its basically being forwarded through the phone.
I bought my phone from BB as well, though there is an AT&T store across the street where I played with it on a prior couple of visits. I've been impressed with the call quality - better than my old I777 GS2, with reception similar to my GS2. My wife has an iphone 4S. Trying to get her to upgrade, but she doesn't like change - probably the reason she is still with me .

Yeah, compared to my old phone (Sony Xperia X10) the call quality is amazing.
I have not had muffled calls, and in fact the calls are really loud, I can hear the speaker with the phone set down if the room isn't too loud.
You can turn down the in-call volume though if you think it is too loud.
And I would suggest BestBuy.com because of THIS offer. Though, if you buy it in the store they should be able to match the offer.
See THIS thread for more information.
But I highly recommend this phone.
Get it from Best Buy for 100 less than AT&T

So I'll keep it short. Just got my phone yesterday, really like it, except for one major thing...it doesn't have any sort of communication with my sony car stereo. This isn't an old stereo either. Maybe a year old, maybe 2 years out on the market. It had no issues with my htc, or my girlfriends htc, or my friends samsung, but of course my new awesome phone that I love decides it wants nothing to do with my car. Can someone give me some ideas as to how to fix this? I put both into pairing "discovery" mode and neither saw the other one. Am I doomed to going back to the store and paying a restocking fee?
Hello
I bought a f1 from gearbest over a week ago and every seems to run great on it apart from the other day when I got a call and could not hear them, in the end I had to switch to speakerphone in able to hear them.
Im not 100% on this but I think I made a call on it about 5 days ago and the earpiece worked no problem then.
I done a quick search and found someone had the same issue but said that the issue just resolved itself 2 weeks later.
I'm thinking it could be a software problem as i have had a few wireless updates but am unsure where to download a previous version to roll back to.
I have contacted gearbest about this and they said that I could return for either a refund or exchange but I don't think they pay for shipping which will be an added expense to me. Im unsure what to do.
Please help....
