have you SuperCID your phone as of yet? Sounds like it is not unlocked.
Try that, and let me know if that makes a difference.

It sounds like the radio rom is corrupted... If you can try to flash the ORIGINAL SHIPPED STOCK ROM on to your hermes... It MIGHT fix the "No GSM" error...
If this doesn't work then you won't be able to use the Hermes as a phone again but you can load other OS's on and use as a PDA....
mikendawn, Super CID WON'T work to repair the radio rom. You seem to think its the be all and end all solution... Unfortunately this isn't the case...
Loading Hard SPL V7 on is as good as Super CIDing your Hermes as all it does is allow you to put other carrier/cooked roms onto your Hermes and allow you to use them.
No, not quite that, I thought his phone wasn't SuperCID. I didn't think it was the end all solution. Just thought it sounded like his phone was CID Locked.

I have Qtek 9100 with IPL 1.01 and SPL 2.20.0001. When I switch on divice, it displeyed color screen and nothing more. I flash it whit many ROM's but IPL/SPL always is the same and did't work normal. How can I resolve the problem. Thanks!
Only with a JTAG device. It's a special device that can access the chips without the need for the phone to be working. But nobody knows which are the JTAG pins so no luck here.
The IPL 1.xx is meant for the G3 DOC chip Wizards and G4 all have IPL/SPL starting at 2.xx.xxxxx. Since IPL is the firt bootloader with information and addresses for SPL and since they don't match you'll never get out of that situation...

Try..
(1) put the phone in bootloader mode
(2) flash it with cingular 1.x radio (search for it)
you should get a normal device in the end

You should
1) Flash only IPL/SPL from g4 (f.e. 2.26.0001) to get your SPL/IPL the same with italian RUU 2.5.2
2) Flash ROM without IPL/SPL italian RUU 2.5.2

I have got O2 Arom.
does anyone know whether my device is equivelent to G3 or G4?? or its completely diff technology that cannot be compared!!!
I know O2 Atom is by Quanta and it uses CPLD (Complex programmble Logic Design!! I hope i remember this right).
this can't be compared at all, totally different technology. there is a whole separate section for the atom. just go to the forum root page and look for the atom.
i tried to install another rom, Hermes_WM6_WWE_vp3G_v3[1].61.0_ATT_Full.rar and Touch_I_interface_beta.zip and crashed. and now, i enter in bootloader, if i want to make super cid it tells me to connect the pda even if is connected. and if i try to install other roms is stuck on 0%

Give more detail about your device, SPL? Radio version? Custom RUU version that you use?
i can't give you more that SPL 2.03 because the rest (RUU, radio) doesn't work. I can't enter in my device (i tried several custom RUU, still nothing, remaing stucked on 0%)
my first SPL was 1.03 but after a try of upgrading ROM it was modifed in 2.03 and i think this is the problem. does anyone knows how to modify it?
how can i downgrade my SPL ?

Same problem here seems like lots of radio's are getting broken now
Happend a few weeks ago and impossible to flash a radio.

Yep...and little help forthcomming.
I can flash a bios, I can flash a radio, I can do just about anything I like.
The PDA functions perfectly.
Just no phone!!
Our local agents are stumped as well.
They now want to replace the main board to get the GSM back!
I'll just hang on a while before I do that.
It seems there is something more going on at the moment, with an increase in dead radios.
Let's first see what the clever people come up with.

If this happened to me I'd at least try to reflash the factory rom that was on the phone. For me it would be oz telstra, but I'd flash WM06 instead of WM05 as I don't know where I'd find it.... Maybe the WIKI, but I wouldn't hold my breathe on that 1.

I just got this phone with this error, the general problem is that it doesnt have SPL It is just on thre colours + white with no informations of SPL, OS, IPL...
1st I tried putting an original T-mobile ROM ( because it is an MDA, and i think it isnt CID unlocked...) on the microSD but with no luck
Then i tried with mtty but nothing, mtty didnt show the USB port..

Hope you have a copy of your SHIPPED STOCK ROM... You need to re-flash that then update your SPL to Hard SPL V7. The Hard SPL you have is an older, less safe version.
If you don't, you may have corrupted the radio rom on your Hermes which means you can install Hard SPL V& but the radio (phone) won't work ever again. Even with the SHIPPED STOCK ROM there's no guarantees...
