After trying to rebuild a ROM (NAFT's v3.0) by adding rilphone.dll file to it. Everything went well when I did it with NAFT's v2.3, but when I tried it on v3.0, my phone just stop at the AT&T World Phone screen... I did a hard reset by Pressing Volume Down + Enter + soft reset, but it still stuck at the AT&T screen.
I can still go into the boot screen, but I dont' know what I can do now.
Please help.
IS there a way to load a new ROM from the Bootscreen?
Load the ROM NBH file to your SD Card under the name RAPHIMG.NBH
Enter the Boot Screen and it should start Flashing the ROM.
Enter bootloader, plug the usb cord in, wait for usb to show up on the tri color screen, flash different rom.
Alternatively, you could enter bootloader and follow the directions for flashing from SD card.
Search for it.
Next reply will probably be by someone telling you to search for these questions first, and then someone will make a comment about your somewhat simple question for someone with your post count, and then a mod will say 'redundant thread closed'.
Good luck.
Copy a ROM to your root of your SD card /Storage Card. Rename the ROM file RAPHIMG.nbh
Then go to the bootloader. Should ask you to flash the ROM. Press the power button to begin flashing.
You could also try flashing the Stock ROM that came with you device via your pc with your device in the bootloader. Hook your device up to your pc in the bootloader it will say Serial or USB. If it's USB you should be able to flash as normal.
just like fox, ATW and navy said..
whenever u run into an issue like that..flash from ur SD
80% of the time it works.
ive been in ur situation before..its pretty ****ty..but u can bounce back real quick

I follow the first advice... put it in boot screen and reflash the new ROM... hope this will work, crossing my fingers... Thanks guys for the very quick reply... it's flashing as we speak.
It seems to be working now... thanks guys.
Got so scared... I must give up the Call Display project... sounds too dangerous
same reason why i stopped messsing with the dialers on M2D
one to many things went wrong and i gave that up real quick..
but what ive learned..over time..
theres always a FIX..just gotta look for it.

It wasn't easy to search went you find out that you've just lost $500 because of a stupid step you did
However, I tried to manage myself to search through the forum for the words "Brick" "Unbrick" and "Flash ROM through Storage Card"... and I thought the world was ending, so I go for the last hope by posting a help thread
Thank and I love you all

hello, try to put it into bootloader and then try to flash a different rom, might b a dump question, but you have installed hard spl?
lupe
yes i have installed the HARDSPL ,but i dont know how to go bootloader,
when i press enter, vol down and reset it comes to a 3-4 color screen but immediately jumps to a white screen and asks me to reset all data (vol up) or cancel (vol down)
btw, i've put a rom on my sd card but nothing happend !
oh man.. pff
maybe you have to rename this rom to RAPHIMG.nbh
Volume down and reset (without the enter) will get you into Bootloader screen. From there is should pick up the ROM on the SD card and ask you if you want to flash.
thnx for the tips bro's.
i did as you said (vol down and reset without enter)
and it asked me to load the image by pushing the enter button and i did.
now its about 15-20min that im waiting and still is on the 3color screen and nothing moves or comes or goes...
is it normal?
finally done. back to normal
oh im so happy , thnx for the help.

glad to here its working again. could you please post exactly what you did as others might find themselves in this same spot, if they know what you did to fix it, it will save them time and also keep them from having to start a new thread.
thanks
Lupe
ya my problem was as i mentiond before i installed a CDMA version(USA VERSION locked on a carrier i think) , because the roms that were cooked are amazing, beautiful and dynamic ... but i didnt know that its not compatible with a normal TP and my phone after installation hanged just on the BIOS screen...nothing goes, nothing comes...i thought i've bricked my phone !
but after your advises i put one of the GSM roms on the SD card and changed the name of ruu_signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh and VOL DOWN + SOFT RESEST to go to the bootloader menu, followed the instructions and finally fixed the problem and installed the right version.
but one thing that i DONT understand is why these beautiful roms are ONLY for CDMA version and not compatible with normal TP's???
thnx for the sharing of your experience with others
I was going to AT&t to try to get a replacement because the keyboard was very loose so I was flashing everything back after flashing the rom back I was flashing the stock hard spl but instead of replacing the nbh file I just put the file on my storage card and flashed it (VERY STUPID)
When I turn my phone on I get the tricolor screen and a message that says: Upgrade ROM code error Please try agian =
and nothing happens I tried hard reseting it but nothing happens, I can't get past that screen, I also tried flashing a new rom through the storage card method since I can't connect with Active Sync
Please help me , I just got my phone in November and I don't want to loose it, I would like to see what help I can get before going thought ATT customer service and telling them I didn't do anything and that it just happened by itself
Thanks to any people who respond

if you can get to the boot loader screen you can probably flash any rom. simply rename the rom file to RAPHIMG.nbh and place it on your memory card, hold volume down + reset with stylus. you should be set. good luck.
does the bootloader still show the olinex 1.90

Have you tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=467141
try flashing hard-spl once again. if it works your saved. as far as i know the people over at att only check for water mark at least in my place the y do. good luck
I found that it was not possible to flash the HardSPL from tri-colour screen.
It only worked for me when windows mobile was fully booted. When you start the HardSPL RUU the phone's screen will just go black, and will return when the update is completed.
I would try connecting the phone while in tri-colour mode, then running the original rom RUU on the PC and seeing if it works. If it gets to the stage where the loading bar shows up on the phone you should be ok.
Once the rom is loaded, start your windows mobile, connect to the PC, and run the RUU for HardSPL.
Best of luck to you!
Thanks for your guys responses I have successfully recovered my phone, I just flashed the original ATT rom from ruu
Very glad that you found solution to fix that problem, because it could happend to any one. Especially after I was thinking to flash everything back to att stock because of my usb exit is getting loose.

hello folks,
first off thanks to all the people who help make this forum better and better.
have used you're help a few times especially trying to flash a rom. but now there's a problem... I've installed artemis Rom a couple of times but I wanted the newest so I've downloaded it, flashed my hd2 with task29 like always. pressed vol. down button it restarted until white boot screen. ok, possible, so I reset it and press vol. down again. but still white boot screen. after trying it for 70(!) times. I used the forum. saw that maybe hooking it up to pc and starting custom rom .exe should work. but no. wont even start when hooked to a computer. so please help!
Info:
Cotulla hspl 1.42.00
Task29 by dooloop performed( got stuck after that)
Rom Artemis. 31.5 (current) 35.1 (wanted to install.
Thanks In Advance

Two possibility's;
Tray to do a hard reset,
Ore tray to install Stock Rom!
tried hard reset. (pulled out battery waited 20 sec. then put it back in. pressed vol. down and power button.) didn't work for 30 times...
have put leoimg.nbh on sd card. but can't get to the tri-colour bootloader so can't install anything...
Thanks for you quick response by the way.
If I get into bootloader there should be no problem but I can't get there :S
I'm out off Idea; tray to send Sir Sternas a PM with your question, maybe he get some Ideas; ore tray to ask this question on the Artemis Thread, there are also helpful peoples out there!
Edit; I just add your question on the Artemis thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8450678#post8450678
you haven't made hard reset. if you wont to do hard reset you have to press both volume buttons and then pres power buton ( or press red button near batery ).
also try to make a goldimage ( search the forum ).

As Luka1111 said, you haven't done a hard reset. Check this out:

Dmm;
That I didn't see/read it correctly the way he did a hard reset??
I think it is HSPL 1.42 or an old RADIO-ROM.
System specs for Artemis are SPL 1.66 or above and RADIO 2.07.51.22_2 or above.
Install newest Stock ROM with the mentioned versions or flash HSPL and RADIO manually.
Best regards
Uli
Sorry, have not read you can't access tricolor bootloader. Have you tried without SIM and SD? If not try to flash HSPL and RADIO without SIM and SD.

What´s the size of your SD-Card? Flashing from SD works only with max. 8 GB - Card, 16 GB or more won´t work! (Own experience!)
Can you connect your device to ActiveSync? Or otherwise stated: What happens when you connect your device to your PC? Does ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center even startup?
BTW, what happens when you start your device now? Does it hang or just load your old Artemis version??

Hi Uli,
the poor man cannot enter bootloader mode and, as I understand from his posts, not connect to his PC. So how can he flash HSPL and/or Radio? There must be something fundamentally wrong with his device, but I also had a similar problem a few weeks ago and, although it took a lot of time, I managed to get it to work again.
BTW, as I already mentioned SPL 1.42 is not the problem.

Hey Kuzibri, You are absoluteley right. I get no connection true active sync or anything. I'm pretty sure there's something really wrong here. never had this problem before. btw I've mistaken with
my spl version. it's the one Sir Sternas recommended. Spl 1.66 HSPL.
I'm Really confused right now. and Pissed off at the same time...
I mean I loved my HD2 with Artemis Rom close to beeing perfect.( installed Igo8 witch right before I went on holliday, stopped working but mannaged to get TomTom navi to work ) then suddenly my answer button stopped working. so I figured let's install a new Version of Artemis rom. I backed up all my files using microsoft my phone. then used task29. done. So I tried to get to the bootloader.... Nothing. tried attatching it to the pc and hoping it would start if I pressed the custom rom .exe (Read somewhere id might work) Nothing not even a blank screen for startup. now I've got nothing else I can think of. please, U guys have given me so much good suggestions.
Thank you all for your time and your efforts to help me solve this issue.

Hey guys,
maybe you haven't read my whole posting: Have you tried to get access to tricolor bootloader without pluged in SIM and SD?
If you had trouble with your answer button before flashing, is it possible your volume button is also without function? Therefore it seems to be a hardware problem.
Sorry, if this is not the answer you would like to read, but the advise to test without pluged in SIM and SD is my last. Entering bootloader is a basic system feature, as far as I know.
Best regards,
Uli

thanks for your efforts though..

As I already mentioned, this poor guy has a major problem with his device, which seems to be hardware related (either volume down button does not work or the on/off key). After having extensive contact with him by phone, the only solution seems to be to bring it back to the store to let it repair. Unfortunately, he will have a great chance to loose his warranty, because HTC probably will be able to found that there is another ROM installed. Whish Maarten good luck with his problem!! Also very sorry I could not help you to solve your problem. I'm personally very disappointed by that!

Hi,
I was running android from my sd card but now wanted to go the NAND way. I installed HardSPL3 to 2.08 and then flashed MAGDLR to the phone. Everything was fine up to here.
Now the problem bit ....... The call button on my HD2 is depressed(I must have sat on it at some point), however it still worked. When I get to the option screen in MAGDLR and go down to 'flash from usb', the call button does not work, so I can navigate up and down but can't select anything!
I'm stuck in MAGDLR ......... Please help!
......one last thing, if I were to have the fault repaired what am I looking at cost wise.
Any help greatly appreciated

Try removing MAGDLR by flashing your official rom from SDcard. This should remove MAGDLR and get you back to WM.

If you download and flash the official ROM for your HD2 you can flash it via bootloader. While your phone is off press and hold down the volume down button. Connect your phone via USB cable and wait until you see USB in the white bar of tbe bootloader screen and your computer to show it recognizes ths phone. Right click the ROM package and click run az adminostrator. The ROM should flash and remove MAGLDR, bit it has to be an official ROM as a custom will not remove MAGLDR. After flashing is done put phone back into bootloder to check SPL version. You want the SPL of the ROM you flashed. If it is not righr download HSPL 4 and use it to set the correct SPL, hint you want the SPL x.xx.0000 not SPL x.xx HSPL.
If you want to just to make sure flash the official ROM via SD card and it should remove MAGLDR, CWM, and HSPL if house have them. Go here to learn how to do this.
what happens if your down volume button doesnt work. is there any way to flash back to your old rom using magdlr? my call button still works but every time i put it on usb flash and try to install the original rom it doesnt seem to work
