hey every body i have an prophet and its cant connect on the pc using activsync 4.5 or 4.2 also 4.1?? cuz i wanna to make an upgrade but (usb not rycognized) is appear every time i connect it so i cant cuz of this problem.
any one help me plz i need help so much

When I bought my Prophet (2nd hand) it was as a sh*t....and I decided to change / upgrade the ROM. After this it was impossible to connect to activesync and.......tachan!!! it was the usb cable!!! there are some usb cables unable to connect some devices (as my bluetooth GPS) and I changed the cable....all perfect!
Maybe is this your problem. If it is not the answer maybe you can try to change the ROM and try and try....

I have the tmobile pocket pc 2003 but when i connect it to my pc it doesn't detect it... i don't know wat to do... i need it to connect so i can unlock it.. well any advice will help....
how do you plan to unlock it through the PC ??
It's enough to copy xdaunlock.exe to your device and run it ... unless you have RSU 6.2x whicj will require you to down grade it first.

i lost the cd's dat came with my tmobile pocket pc and i need to put the special edition rom... but i have the activesync software and outlook but it still won't connect through activesync... wat am i supposed to do? i can't just use the unlocker program b/c it's rom version 4.01.16 ENG... please help...

Try downloading the newest version of Active Sync (3.7.1). Than synchronizing should work with your Device....

i do have the newest version of active sync... and during the setup when it tries to detect my pocket pc it says dat there is nothing connected... i don't know wats wrong.. it works on my friends computer...

it's ME and it was working on a XP but my laptop that had XP is not working so i can't use it.. i wasn't able to unlock it with my other laptop before it broke so can anyone tell me if i can fix the usb problem or if it's a different problem?

if your computer doen't recognize your pocket pc device for some reason, you can go to control panel select user accounts and create a new user. Then restart your computer with new user name. Try and let me know if it solve your problem.
The problem is in the cable .

I upgraded to WM5 but wanted to downgrade to WM2003. But halfways the downgrade the PDA hung. The only thing I can see in the screen is Serial at the top and v1.06 at the bottom. When I put the PDA in the cradle, Serial changes into USB. When I try to install firmware from a ROM, after a while I get an Error 101: Connection Error. I think that in some way the connection cannot be esthablished between cradle (PDA) and the computer.
Trying a soft or a hard reset doesn''t seem to do anything.
Can anyone help?

HOLD DOWN UR POWER BUTTON+RESET (pin at bottom)..u will see 1.06 or what ever ur bootloader version is at bottom and at top u will see SERIAL..when u connect it to USB it will change to USB....and VOILA !!!

until now, there's no way to resolve this problem,
the lucky if we can connect to PC,
i think its the connector problem,
maybe using a new sync cable rather then the cradle then
the cradle was always hit or miss for me
but i still had my wallaby cradle which always worked

I have tried about 3 different cables and the cradle one.
and so tried to 3 different PC's to connect and got same error

From what I've seen so far problems can be caused by:
1. A firewall needs configuring or temporary disabling.
2. The usb connection shouldn't be through a hub but straight to the usb on the motherboard.
3. Dubious connection to the cradle.

i have modding motorola like e398, e1, e2, L7, v3i etc before
i never use USB-hub, i have 8 port USB straight to motherboard,

I have a cingular wizard with WM6 TNT 1933 (Build 18533.0.7.0) w/ TouchFlo. My battery recently died (thought it was bricked for a while, then tested the battery and bought a new one). My wizard won't connect to activesync through a usb cable(I have the advanced network checked OFF), and I don't have a bluetooth adaptor on this laptop. I have wifi here. First off I want a different OS because this one is too loaded and there isn't enough free memory, a bunch of apps I don't need. Also I'm wondering if a new OS will let me connect to activesync. Is there anyway to load one onto there, or am I just F'd?

im sure that sktools had a repair activesync option then you can flash whatever

However ROM flashing must be done by direct USB connection, you didn't read the question carefully.
If you start RUU and plug the USB to your computer, the RUU screen on your wizard should display USB. If this is the case, you can run RUU directly.
If that doesn't work, try it on a different computer.
what about flashing a new rom via bootloader? have u tried that?

I know this is an old thread, but it came up when I searched this problem. I didn't find a lot of info easily, so I just tried a few things.
Problem: Cannot connect to ActiveSync because phone boots into Windows 6.5 beta and is locked at the screen saying the trial is over. When connecting it to the computer, the computer detected a device but ActiveSync could not connect.
Solution: Remove battery from phone and re-insert. Turn on while holding Volume Down button to get into serial mode. When you plug the phone into the computer in this mode, it should switch to USB mode. This allowed me to run RaphaelWrapper and then repeat the Volume Down boot once complete and reconnect to load the RUU for the AT&T stock OS.
If your phone does not switch from Serial Mode to USB Mode when connecting via USB, there is most likely a problem with the phone's USB port or a more serious problem than described above.

1.I noticed that the phone won't connect anymore to the pc trough active sync or wm5torarge
so
2.I tought it can be some problem with active sync and i reinstalled it but again no connection
3.I hard reseted the device..and after that the phone wasn't having sound and when it had the sound was going very fast and at a low volume
i'm using windows professional 6.1 v2 of erofich
the cable is ok because the charging light turns on when i connect the device
and i can't reflash cause i can't copy spl files to jump in bootloader mode
anybody can help?
