Here's a good place to start: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_StrTrk
AFAIK, no free 3rd party SIM unlock solution for the StarTrek unless your seller is willing to contact the telco to get the SIM Unlock code. My seller was kind enough to help me out so I got mine unlocked for free, but at the expense of the seller.
It's not using a standard mini-USB cable. It's proprietary, including the headset as well. If you already have the StarTrek with you, you should be able to tell from the connector on the phone.
i dont have it in my hands yet. it is still in the mail. maybe when i get it i will call up att and see if they want to give me the unlock code. can i flash a radio via the micro sd card?
I just got mine!!!!
I got a Cingular 3125 from eBay new in the box...It had the oldest ROM that they shipped with...I've got it unlocked (thanks to great docs!!!) & flashed with the very great NEoRose 6.1 (very nice!!!)....Looking forward to using this one for quite a while!!

Okay mate - there you go:
1.
Take this guide for CID unlocking your device which is necessary for using custom made ROM's - note that you'll have to do an 'ApplicationUnlock' first (first link over there). AND note that at step (9) you'll have to use/enter your Unique-ID, not the one that's posted there.. else you'll get an error saying sth. like checksum failed or so..
SIM Unlock cannot be done that easy - you should check this topic - especially the last post - maybe this will help you. Unfortunately i don't have any experience on that.
2.
Flashing a new radio is pretty easy - you'll need to AppUnlock and CIDUnlock your phone first.
Next thing is to choose a ROM - i highly recommend WM6.1 Build 5.2.21040 AKU 1.6.0 by Erofich. Flashing this ROM you only have to execute the *.exe file (after App- & CIDUnlock) - mind reading the installation instructions at the first post
3.
Don't know about that - but i guess that's not possible - i wouldn't try it as bluetooth will be disconected during the flashing process.. and flashing unofficial ROM's via SDcard is impossible.
4.
Yes it's micro USB!
Hope this helps a little.
If there are any questions left, feel free to ask
Mister-Maledives your my new best bud. can i flash an official rom via sd card?
also your wrong it is not a standard micro usb plug unless the cable that goes to my lg incite and lg chocolate is a non standard one.
the problem with my startrek is that it has poor reception so i am thinking that flashing a new radio will fix that.
thanks again for all of your help.
I'm pleased to help.
Flashing a standard ROM via SD should not be such a problem. Here you'll find a topic about it.
All official ROM's can be found in Erofich's topic right here.
I never tried flashing (an official ROM) via SDCard. Why don't you want to use USB?
And you are right. The mentioned LG's have definatelly micro usb ports. The one from Startrek seems to be thinner than the original micro usb. Sorry for that.
thanks for the help. i dont want to use usb because i dont own a usb cable. how do i check what radio version i am running? also do the official roms include radios?
Ebay offers cheap USB Data Cables - have a look here..
To check your radio version got to Start > Settings > (0) More > (5) About
But i got no idea if official ROM's include radios.. i think so but maybe asking Erofich would be the best idea.
i called att and got a free unlock code incase anybody is wondering. i am going to try to flash an official rom and hope that it includes a radio.
well i flashed an official rom and it did not have a radio.
do i have to cid unlock to flash just a radio? can i flash just a radio with sd card?

Hi to all, my problem is that I can't enter the bootloader. in other words I can enter it(power+navigation buttom and reset) but i only see the word Serial and v1.01, and when usb is connected I see USB v1.01 , i can't see d2s or any other information and options. I wanted to flash my rom to SD using Multi-Port/USB TTY . I did a search on this forum but no luck so if anybody can give me a hand I'll appriciate it. Ciaoz Mine is XDAII the german verwsion.
Please anybody can give me a step by step info on how to copy the original rom to SD card, I need to change language from german to english and I want to keep the original german rom just in case. Thx
Does it have to be on sd there are other way of doing it which I will be able to talk you through (I think) if you need a hand
Well I was thinking to flash it to the sd in case the phone goes dead and you're out of activesync so the only way of flahsing it will be through SD. But another way of flashing is more than appriciated so I'll be waiting for ur guide.. do u happen to know why I can't see the options in the bootloader? thanks really
1st ... I have no idea why you cant get into the bootloader. On my xda 2 after a cold reboot i just get the serial and then when in the cradle I get usb, from their I dont know what to do. I would class myself as a newbie as well but I can talk you through what I did.
Which rom is it that you want to flash?
The extended rom or the Os rom?
i'm willing to flash the OS rom and not the extended. My version is 1.03.00 Ger and I want to flash to the "Dangaard (Qtek) 1.60" or RUU16006WWE_T-mobile_NL version which is an english one although I heard some people had their phones dead while doing so. I must find a way to back my rom 1st.. Did u do the update urself??
Yes I did the update using a programme called
HimaUpgradeUt.exe
I was originally after flashing the extended rom only, but due to not fully understanding the instructions at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6470&highlight=
I made a mistake and flash the Radio Stack - the OS and the extended rom as well. After this I worked out how to use HimUpgradeUt.exe to flash the extended rom only. I am guessing that if you follow the same procdure for flashing the rom and flash the OS you will get the same results.
However I haven't tried it yet. I am hoping to get the radio rom and the OS rom for O2 xda2 and try it but until them I cant confirm it. I am only guessing that it will work?
So its up to you I have successfully updated the extended rom 4 time but I just dont have the files to do it?
Where did you get you Os file from?
I already tried Multi-Port/USB TTY program , but in the instructions it says"
3. boot the machine into bootloader mode (hold the Power and directional pad , then push reset)
4. Run the rompdate utility, select the comport as "wceusb001" or something like that as the default comport." The problem is that After going into bootloader mode I launched the romupdate utility but in the com-ports I only see com1 and com2 ,there is no wceusb001!!. And where did u see the d2s that I hear about??
I've got the downloads from the forum this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6214&sid=0dad85b97d280219dc51962a01a4997b and the other form here http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cellpoint/tmobilemdaii.html
It seems that we are taking cross purposes here.
Using HimaUpgradeUt.exe you can update the roms using .NBF files,
hence the way in which I updated all 3 of my roms in one go.
Radio.nbf
Ms.nbf
Exteneded Rom.nbf (can’t remember the actual name) it looks like you are using a different up loader or have different files to upload. I can only really help with advice on the process that I followed. I can provide you with the files that I had, if you want it will change your 02 format to I-Mate in English.
Does this help?
well I know we have differnet purposes but we should use the same tool I guess if we followed this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=6470&highlight= and the tool is Multi-Port/USB TTY program to back up rom or extended rom. Please provide me the info to back up the rom no matter if to SD or HD. Thanks for ur time man.
I think that you can try using ositools I will find the link and then post it, but again I am still not sure how you reinstal it afterwards

I am in the same situation with you, have you solved yet?
Serial / USB V1.01
I had the same problem, and I found the cause to be a USB Hub. I found that when I plugged the cradle directly into my PC I managed to load the update without any further problems.
I hope this helps
you have to disable usb or com port in activesync, before trying to connect with mtty, or terminal program.
see http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaBootloader
I've been trying for several months now to unlock my XDA1 Wallaby without success. I've loaded the Special Edition ROM 1.2 on my device and followed the Wiki instructions:
"To use XDAunlock.......tranfer XDAunlock.exe to any directory on your device using the 'Explore' funtion of ActiveSync. Run it and you will be prompted to ask if you really want to unlock, and then it's done".
I loaded the XDAunlock program into the Program Files directory of my device. However, when I click on XDAunlock.exe it gives me 'error getting unlock code'. It all sounds so simple but it just doesn't seem to work and nothing in the instructions relates to this error. Can anyone help. I'm even prepared to call anywhere in the world if someone has the solution.
Thanks
The special edition rom should unlock automatically, the xdaunlock is part of the rom so there is no need to transfer the xdaunlock program to your device. If it doesnt execute xdaunlock on first boot after buring the special edition rom you can run it from the programs list or explore for it. Have you tried a different sim to see if in fact it is unlocked?
Hey, thanks for the quick reply.
I'd already tried what you suggested and it's what I understood should happen but it didn't. It didn't automatically unlock on first boot and I was unable to find it in the Programs list so I loaded XDAunlock directly into my Programs Files directory. I then located it in File Explore and clicked on XDAunlock.exe, which is when I got the error. The reason I'm trying to unlock is that I was formerly a TMobile subscriber and recently got a cheap Motorola when I switched to Cingular. I've tried both SIM cards in the device with the same result. I'm at a loss but want to try everything I can to avoid forking out for a new device.
Which Radio Version do you have?
Stefan
Stefan,
I don't know which version I have but assumed it would be whatever loaded with the Special Edition ROM 1.2. How do I check?
David
Radio Version can be seen via Settings -> System -> Device Information
The Radio Version is independent of the ROM Version.
XDAunlock do only work with special radiostacks together. So there may the problem why it isn't working for you...
Stefan
I'm apparently using Radio version 6.25.02

Stefan, I don't know if you are a beer drinker but I owe you one. Your suggestions, once I changed the Radio version worked like a charm. Now I just have to find the best OS for Cingular here in the US.
Thanks again for your help and don't hesitate to let me know if you get to New York for that beer.
Glad to hear, that your device is well working....
In my opinion, on of the best ROM is the 4.01.12 Version. Its a WM2003 ROM including wmodem to use the Wallaby as modem.
Don´t know if you have already read anything of the ROMkitchen, but there you can include some applications diretcly in the ROM.
YOu can create your own ROM here:
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org
Stefan
PS: Don´t know if i will ever be in New York, but drinking beer sound great. ;-)
So many Things and hardly any experience LOL
tried downloading the special edition rom from The site but It must either be down or not there any more. any one know where I can get it elswhere?
I also have a SIEMENS SX56 with a Simcard from AT&T, bad thing about it is I switched to T-Mobile and now I get a sim Lock SID password box.
Have no clue where to start. Definately needs unlocking.. Now does it make a difference if the T mobile sim card or the AT&T sim are in the PDA?
So many Q's..
Thanks in advance for any assistance
RATTLER1
I tried both links referred to in the thread and they worked. I'm assuming you have a cable connection as the Special ROM is 15+MB and would be a problem to download if not. Other than that, don't know what to suggest other than going back to ATT/Cingular, which I find much better than Tmobile after four years of frustration.
Good luck
Hi there... I bought my T-Mobile Touch Plus from UK a year ago, and have been trying to follow this forum ever since... but have had trouble understanding most of it, due to my limited understand of hardspls, roms, and all that stuff.
The phone has been very disappointing, as I had a much faster and reliable experience on my Magician.
Been to lazy to do anything about it until now...
My phone is still 100% stock standard from T-Mobile UK and its model is a NIKI200.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to make it a half decent phone?
I have also tried to get the official 6.1 OS update... but have been unable to due to my serial number not being right or something. Will it matter if I try upgrading it anyway with those files?
Thanks

1. download the spl files (flash-uspl-niki.zip & sspl-1.16-nike).
2. REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !!
3. connect usb cable
4. copy sspl-1.16-nike.exe to your device and run it (usb cable must be connected!)
5. after a few seconds "USB" appears on the display
6. unplug and replug the usb cable
8. you can now flash the USPL by running ROMUpdateUtility.exe from flash-uspl-niki
9. after installing the uspl the phone will reboot
10. after that you can flash the new HTC rom update.
Download the HTC rom update from the following location:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MX5GHOXC
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a00...831_3_Radio_NikeMR_1_65_29_22_signed_Ship_exe
http://rapidshare.de/files/41219609..._Radio_NikeMR_1.65.29.22_signed_Ship.exe.html
THANKS!! I will give it a go!
Seems a lot better now thanks!
Does that take the network unlock away as well?
Can I now try flashing most of the NIKI100 or NIKI200 roms onto it?
Hi
I recently bought a tg01 in a private sale and it has been flashed with a cooked rom. Most of the time the phone works fine but does suffer from the occasional lockup that requires a switch off to get things running again. One problem that is annoying is I am unable to get the phone to connect to my laptop using either the activesync or mass storage options. When I connect my tg01 to the laptop with a usb cable + mini to micro usb adapter I get no connection at all ? I have tried this on both a windows xp and windows 7 and no connection is possible. I am wondering if flashing back to an original rom from the toshiba website would so;ve this problem for me until a stable cooked rom is available ?
I have downloaded the rom directly from Toshiba's website and it states it is a Orange uk update. Now my tg01 is unlocked and running a o2 sim at the moment, will flashing this image keep the phone unlocked ? I have been told that the phone will remain unlocked but the fact that this upgrade from the Toshiba website states it is a Orange upgrade it worrying me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
About 90% of the TG01 in this forum (including mine) are Orange Unlocked Sim and no one reported having his phone simlocked after flashing
Try to hard reset your phone if you have activesync issues.
Turn it off, and then press Power+Camera+Vol Up at the same time and follow instructions, or goto settings --> system --> mater clean
Hope this helps
Thanks for your reply.
I guess the big question is what is the best rom currently for people in the uk ?

check the rom i'm using
I found it's the best regarding battery life and stability.
you can also flash the original rom, and you can find unbranded original rom in rom development thread
I give up to debrand my mozart, i've tried use the Y cable with differents ROMs, and i didn't had sucess, i've tried all tutorials possibles. All tutorials i've tried I stuck in USB Host bootloader screen, i've tried 3 diferents microSD cards. Please, someone help me, i really will give up...!
I've tried with these roms:

My Y cable: h ttp://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/684/wp000013h.jpg/
Cable looks o.k.
Hi hakmed,
your y-cable looks good.
But, perhaps a stupid question: Did you try it with an Single -Card-Reader and a normal SD-Card? A Multi-Card-Reader doesn't work, as far as i know.
Good luck in debranding, don't kill your phone...

Thanks Oldbadman for the suggestion, but i've used just with a micro-card reader like this: h ttp://img16.imageshack.us/img16/8120/wp000015o.jpg
What do u mean with normal SD-card?
I can give up? Please, someone with a big heart, with a good soul....
I assume you have not downgraded it yet, that is why you are using the Y cable.
You need to first downgrade with an older ROM from your region.
Read the thread mention below, it will send you to another thread where you can download the correct ROM to download to.
Did you push the camera button at the same time as the down volume button and then the power button. To enter USB host mode.
I followed this thread
[TUT]SPL Downgrade from 5.x - RSPL and HSPL - Flash Custom ROM - Trick Marketplce
It worked for me.
I'm not downgraded yet, and I still branded with Orange FR
That's the reason I am trying use the Y cable
I've tried this thread too:

but stuck at 1%, and reboot

dont work
cuz my bootloader is 5.xx
I think my mozart have a halfbrick
Mine was 5.xx. as well
You just need to follow all the steps.
I think it took at least 15minutes to load the first time
Sorry I cannot be of more help.
Have you tried another SD card
try changing Card reader. In my experience, i have used 4 card readers (all are in good shape). 2 microSD card readers, 1 SD card reader, and 1 Multicard reader.
1 used 2 cards. 1 microSD (2gb) and 1 SD card (2gb).
surprisingly, the multicard reader and microSD card worked with my mozart. from SPL 5.12 i was able to downgrade my device's SPL to 1.26.
