mate,
did you try reinstalling the upgrade / downgrade after the reset?
cheers
I am sure the "launch rom" was posted by O2 for this purpose, I cant remember the link for it but O2 hosts it. It was posted to give a recovery solution when an upgrade go's awry.

Ensure that your battery has juice. Remove it and charge separately via cradle battery slot. Once full pop it back in and confirm that the red limit switch is properly closed.
Hit Green+DPad+Red+Power+Reset to get into BootLoader mode. Shove it back into the cradle and flash with the ROM linked below. In case after flashing soft reset does not work attempt hard reset that should do the trick.
After that you can flash your Xda II to your heart's content.

Hi,
I have a G3 Prophet, I did flash it with WM6 before & it worked but now every time i try to flash with [pdaviet] 4.0.0.0.4s_pv or other WM6 roms i get the same freakin error " Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe its in use?"
I tried restarting my activesync & rebooted the pc (winxp), The funny thing is when i try to flash with the NOID WM5 flash it works great.
I also flashed a G4 Prophet & it worked.
Before reflashing...
U need to downgrade to WM5 OEM with e.g : RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID
(Look for on this board )
I had the same problem.

1.When you get to the boot screen, let WM5 start, tap once and do a hard reset.
2.Load WM6.
I just tried that, still no go. ANy other suggestions ?

If you followed exactly what others suggested, it should be okay. Read the Sticky notes on top of the forum and follow EXACTLY word by word.
If you think you have done so but still failed, there is another way to get around the "itsutils.dll in use" problem -- just copy the 2 .cabs (Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab) in the folder of the new ROM, into the PPC phone any directory and run them. then repeat the 2nd step. It will go away. But that is not a clean method.
Hope it helps. Good luck.

[assumption: HardSPL'ed]
Remove the battery from the device to turn it off and put the battery back in but don't turn on the device.
Copy a knonw "working" rom to your SD card and name RAPHIMG.NBH. Place the SD Card in your device.
Hold the Volume Down button and while holding it down, turn the device on. You should enter the Tricolor Bootloader and the NBH file on the SD card will be flashed to your device.
HTH,
You're phone's cdma, right? Flash a stock sprint rom (e.g. if you're on sprint).
not cdma is gsm

Then the procedure I noted should work ... assuming your device is HardSPL'ed.

Good catch ... keep forgetting to ask that question.

Well...
Ir can be caused by many things... It's actually hard to say why... It could be a bad flash, or some allocation issue on you phone...
If you can't flash another ROM right now you can try [I am not saying it will work] to hard reset... Action + Down + Soft Reset and follow on-screen instructions.
Regarding your question about a «good ROM» recommendation... That's up to you. It depends on your preference, a question of personal taste... It depends on what you expect form a ROM... Etc... No answer to that question
In extremis, if you want to be ABSOLUTELY sure about the ROM version you will use, you can always revert to the stock ROM prior to flashing a cooked one...
Good luck.
Cheers.

Try this procedure:
Remove the battery from the device to turn it off and put the battery back in but don't turn on the device; also remove any SD Card - shouldn't be required since you don't have one at the moment. Connect the device to your computer using a USB cable.
Copy a known "working" rom to your computer, you'll also need the Custom Raphael Flash utility. Rename the rom to RUU_SIGNED.NBH.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410761
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448008
Hold the Volume Down button and while holding it down, turn the device on. You should enter the Tricolor Bootloader; after a minute or so, you should see the word "USB" at the bottom of the screen. If not, there is a problem and you will need to use the SD card approach.
Launch the Custom Raphael Flash utility; it should discover your connected device. Proceed as you did before to flash the RUU_SIGNED.NBH.

Yes, you just rename the file and transfer to SD card as hilaireg stated in the first reply. Then just follow the rest of the instructions from there. And there is always this thread on flashing for all reference and answers.
haha thank to all expert...i done it.my little lappy going to life.i flash it to different rom and its going fine ,i think the current rom i use is broken or damage...thanks for your help..
Hi Experts,
I was trying to load a India official ROM on my UK Vodafone HD2, and it now always shows this ROM is not suitable for ur phone, please upgrade the correct ROM. The phone now only shows this message. I tried to load a Custom ROM through SD card. It installs but at the end when I press the reset button, it again displays the same message in RED.
Please help.
A beer from me if you get this one cracked for me.
Regards
Chirag

Try then to flash over SD
1) Prepares your SD (<8GB SD Card)
a) Format your SD by FAT322) Take the "RUU_signed.nbh" from your ship ROM and copy it to the SD card.
3) Rename the "RUU_signed.nbh" to "leoimg.nbh".
4) Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
5) Follow the instructions on your screen.

No problem sir,
When you get the .exe From the ROM; right click on it and select extracting by (WinZip/WinRar/7Zip)
Then you will see a lot of files in it; just take out the "RUU_signed.nbh"
i'll try this, and if it works a beer comes ur way as a thanks from me.
Make attention to Download and use the UK Vodafone ROM!
Edit;
This was the latest one: ROM version:1.72.161.3

can you please tell me the link of W7 with market place running. coz i cant find from last 2 days. And one more thing to ask what should I do with micro sd-card(it is currently working for Android). tahnks a ton bro.
Sorry, its been several months since I used wp7. Market just needs a valid activation code to work, doesn't it? I'm sure there are plenty of threads in the wp7 section., , as for the SD card, wp7 will handle that for you, then once its set up you can follow threads in the wp7 section to unlock the card and let you dual boot android from it.(if that's what you mean)
