Recently again zguiłem phone (TyTN II) :-(
Therefore, I wonder if there is any soft that sends GPS position but on demand (eg, SMS messages about appropriate content). Maybe someone knows so soft?

Hi,
Does anyone heard about S/W showing this information?
I tried to get it from the trace logger with trace viewer (more info here:
http://www.xda-developers.com/tracelogview/) and I tried to find it with the AtDbg (AT command viewer, in windows directory), but nothing...
It is important for me... I have it on my Nokia 7650, (from here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/7650-soft/files/Apps/Net Monitor 7650.zip), and I want to compare, to compare the RF behavior.

Ok this is what I've got so far.
There is no software at the moment that can display such info on the
background screen. The reason is because every developer is having
a spasm trying to get the microsoft SMS API to function correctly.
You can turn on the CELL INFO, by using the cell broadcasting feature
located in your phone, however the channels to receive is purely
depending where you are living. In Australia the channel is 50.
However after a while you will get so sick of the delivery method, which
is by SMS. There are people trying to write a software to take this
SMS and display it in a application on the background screen. However
Mircosoft SMS API only allows ONE application to receive SMS messages.
If other applications try to call the function openSms, it will return a failure
code informing that the handler is already currently used. I have tried
to unhook the MS SMS reciver software, however then I am confronted
with the issue of writing the entire software again to store the SMS messages. I do not know how Paragon did it with their SMS name software, but they seem to have more of a clue then I do, they are probablly the best to ask and I wish they would provide the source code
for that free software.
Does this cell broadcast cost the normal SMS charge?
Or is this just how the information is received, in SMS format?
Thanks.
Cell Broadcast is free of charge to receive.
On 'normal' phones the CB messages are usually shown on your main-display as a ticker-tape.
On the XDA / MDA the messages are treated as incoming SMS, which is a bit awkward as for some CB services, you receive a new message every 30 seconds . . .

Has anyone been able to get this to work w/ their hermes? i've heard of a few for WM5..but im using wm6. My problem is that when a call is coming in, the cityID screen is the backround, im assuming showing me what I want to see, but the stock "incoming call" screen keeps showing up, which is covering what i would be seeing from cityID..hmm any help?
Has there been any development with this on the Hermes? I used to try it on the Palm Treo 750 and my gripe with this application is that the data connection cannot reconnect and I would either have to uninstall CityID or soft reset to re-connect to the internet, which was very frustrating. Was wondering if anyone has tried it with Windows Mobile 6, and specifically with the Black Satin ROM.
I need CityID cab file
Can any body email me the CityID cab file to my email id [email protected]
So this is my idea, but i didn't find any solution.
I've got an old XDA Orbit and I would like to build it into my car. I would like to localize it anytime. So I need a tool that response with a SMS (including GPS data) on a request of my current phone. I used FindMe, but its always keeps the GPS on. Is there any tool like FindMe that activates the GPS on request, waits for fixing, sends the SMS and turns the GPS off?
thanks 4 helpin'

I use this:
Astrolabe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523183
"Description
Use your PDA to acquire your GPS position and send it through an SMS.
The GPS position is update every 5 seconds (in order to conserve energy).
SMSs can be sent automatically at regular time intervals."
and
Sentinel http://www.bolognini.it/swpc/whereis/index.html
Sentinel Transmit the GPS coordinates via text message by activating
"inviando al telefono l'sms "ignaz# gps" il telefono rispode al mittente con le posizioni gps se trovate"
"the phone by sending the SMS "Ignaz # gps"the phone responds to the sender with the GPS positions if found"
google translate
good idea. but I just want to recieve only one SMS. Not an intervalled flood
Send one SMS from phone a to phone b, recieve one SMS from phone b to phone a.

No idea for building an SMS in XDA Orbit but I am searching about it.. I will tell it to you if I got an idea..
It works. There is just one question left: Does someone know an "app" that can send me a sms when the battery status is under a specific level (maybe 10%)... ?
Hello!
Someone knows how can i set my actual gps position to any contact?
example:
im in your house, and i want to set de adress to your contact im my phone. but does not edit the contact position and write by hand, any applications that take the current position and set as your home address.
thanks
Hi,
I found that after a recent ROM upgrade (on my Galaxy S5) that I was no longer seeing text messages presented on the dash display of my BMW - this had previously been working. After some reading in various XDA threads and (primarily) BMW forums I discovered that someone else had resolved their issues via deleting all existing text messages and re-pairing with the car. This also worked for me...but I then restored all my backed-up SMS messages and I *think* (TBC) that it's stopped working again.
Rather than simply delete them all again, can anyone advise on available apps or debug capability which look into the operation of the bluetooth MAPI protocol which I believe is used to transfer the SMS messages to the car. I suspect that either the car or phone is somewhere maintaining an index of messages which have already been transferred and this may need to be reset.
Of course, I could just archive the messages and avoid this all!
TIA - longshot I know!
