the topaz doesnt have a irda port. wish it did though. loved it on my hermes.

maybe, seems like more hassle than its worth to me. just use bluetooth
i am missing it also, my Axim x51 was also a remote control replacement

actually what the story inside?
It´ll work fine.
You just need to know that the buttons ONLY work for WMP (and HTC player....).
So If you use TCPMP or another player, the remote is useless. You will still get audio though. But if it´s just the audio you want, there are much cheaper solutions that work.

Unfortunately my Vodafone V1605 don't recognize it! I've downloaded and isntaled the RC W100 driver from the official HTC Site, but it don't work with WMP... the answer button don't make any effect...
I use the Schap's Rom 4.31... perhaps i must change the rom?
I've a Wired Remote Controller dopod S1 bought to ebay.
Unfortunatelly my Tytn don't recognize this rc-w100... exist a full working driver for TYTN alias Hermes????
I've downloaded the official driver and i extracted and installed "manually" all the singular cab files!!!!
The results is listed above:
all the Remote_controller_Y-cable_Ax files, the Y-cable_B1_070323 and the Y-cable_E1_070323 and don't works and they produces a blank screen after the reset (so i have made an hard reset everytimes!)
Remote_controller_P1_070316.cab and the Y-cable_HERM1_070316.cab don't make any changes and the rc-w100 isn't recognized at all!
Remote_controller_AT1_070316.cab mute all the sound alsoo if i disconnect the RC-W100
Only with Remote_controller_Y-cable_T1_070316.cab the RC-W100 is recognized as a simple headphone
SO DON'T EXIST A FULL WORKING FUC***NG DRIVER!!!????

E100 Driver cabinets, anyone?
Just got this POS today-when I plugged it in to a stock WM6 TyTN ROM, it didn't do squat-no work at all-no sound to the phones even!
I rooted around and found the remote_controller_Y_cable_T1_070316.cab and dropped it in-now I get headphone sounds at least, but everytime I try to launch the installer It says I have the latest drivers-and I can't seem to catch the thing at the point where I can snap up the cabinets.
Can someone post the other cabinets?

Never mind-I got 'em all by doing an install on my XP laptop with my device disconnected.

Can someone put up the driver for the rc-w100? Couldnt find one on the official site. Tried googling but its nowhere to be found. Bought it on ebay, checked the "compatibility list" and my VOX is there. This kinda sucks.
Try htc music plug-in 1.0, I install it then my rc E-100 worked!But you can't use it with a Y cable.

I flashed my HP 6815 with this ROM and all works fine. However my device, who was pairing with a Plantronics headset, may no longer connect with that device. It's there new setings adjust, or there is some cab file who helps to make that work?

There is a problem it seems with my atom life too as I am getting problem in attaching my Jabra BT headset. Using Current Tranminh's WM 6.1 ROM but everytime I have to re-discover my headset. Don't know whats the problem but I am finding hard to get the solution. It seems it defies its own specs that it has A2DP.
Hope you have paired the device with a passkey of '0000' and set the device as authorized?

When i try to do it phone doesn's find the bluetooth device at all.
With my Atom Life, WM 6.1, that problem doesn't exist, and it finds and pair ups easily with the headset.
first phone i brought with no ir port...is there a way to add one? or is it a hardware thing..or software?

IR Port is a bit old fashioned. It has been replaced by Bluetooth. But I agree that it was useful allowing the use of remote control programs.

i know you can use the wii mote via bluetooth to play our emulators. is it possible to create an app that can utilize the ps3 remote to play our roms. im no Dev so i wouldn't know where to begin to create such an app. i thought it would be cool to see an app like this

i think itd be possible to do it with any of the current gen controllers, but the wii mote app does not work on galaxy because it uses an old version of bluetooth and our phones have a newer version.
How would you pair the controller? I dont think ps3 ones will pair without a usb connection during pairing.

thats the easy part, u can do that by booting off a linux live cd and running a program called sixpair, or WinDS3 on Windows. The hard part is getting the Galaxy S to recognize it

what? How would you do that on your phone? I nkow you can get it working on a pc, but you can PLUG IT IN on your pc. You can't plug it into the phone, and even if you had a cable allowing it, I don't think it has USB host, so it would never see the controller via USB to pair it..
I think he meant that you have to pair the ps3 controller to a pc or something other than a ps3 prior to trying to pair it with the phone. Have seen it discussed in other threads. Relating to his second comment, I am under the assumption that we don't have a proper HID implementation within the bt stack on our phones, hence why we can't connect bt keyboards, mice, etc. At least thats the way I understand it.

yes, you do initial pairing through a PC and put the master address of the bluetooth on the phone. thats how its done for windows mobile thats how itll have to be done for android seeing as how Sony chose to make the pairing over USB instead of wirelessly.

So you must try if your gamepad is compatible with phone -> connect it to phone via usb-otg cable.

Most of third party USB controller uses high electric... You can get PS3 controller if you want for plug and play
