THIS HARDSPL IS ONLY FOR NEON400 AND NOT FOR NIKI
Instructions
-------------
1. connect your NEON400 with your PC by USB cable and boot into Windows Mobile
2. wait until ActiveSync is ready (icon green)
3. run "flash-hardspl.bat" to flash the HardSPL. It will create a backup of your current SPL
(called "spl-backup.bin") and creates a file "check.bin" in subdirectory "1" (for diagnostic purposes)
4. the phone will be rebooted automatically
5. you can now flash any cooked or original rom, splash screen or radio rom
Notes
-------
- if your device is application locked the batch file will run with errors. To app unlock your device
Download PHM Registry Editor - v0.70 from here:
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=31
Copy it to your device and execute it.
Modify this registry key:
HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/0000101B if set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
Reset using power button and try again.
- the HardSPL is based on the SPL v0.28.0000 (Neon_C, Shipped)
- a quick verification for correct installation is to boot into SPL tri-colour bootloader screen. In the top-left corner it should display "0.28.Hard"
- to flash back the stock SPL 0.28.0000 run "flash-stock-0.28.0000.bat"
- to flash your original SPL run "flash-your-backup.bat"

I have reconstructed the original NEON400 Bell and Telus WM6.1 Pro Build 19965.1.2.3 roms from dumps.

With these roms you can easily set up a kitchen for NEON400.

Hey thankyou for making my day! I searched high and low (xda and ppcgeeks) for neon400 threads. Im all giddy that i had the privilige to be a part of the project.
I started cooking for my vogue recently after months of trying out everybody elses roms. I love it! I'm happy my father in law's bell neon needed the factory reset. (although he was pissed to loose his contacts. (i installed pimbackup for him now)

JockyW, I just tried to flash the bell rom with no success but the telus rom will load with no problem.
The bell rom gets stuck at the HTC start page immediately after the phone is turned on.

What did you find out?
hi,
i used your tool....and broke my device..
after the automatc reboot, my device turned off....and now it doesnt react on anything!
the power function is lost, the akku isnt charging, the device isnt starting, just black screen without any led lighting....

You installed the NEON400 hspl on your Niki I assume. The Neon hspl is *not* for Niki and will brick it. For Niki you find my hspl below ...
Connect your Niki to your PC and check if you are prompted to install drivers. If it does, your niki can very likely be unbricked using a modified version of my Frankenkaiser tool.

Hi I have looked through all the threads and cannot find any help can some one help I tried to flash my rom and now the imate is stuck on the bootloaders screen ? Red, Green,Blue with IPL 1.00 and SPL 2.13 but it will not connect via USB to recover. I have tried all the steps shown but with no connection its not working. Thanks in advance and I hope someone can help.

1. try my post @ my signature, since your device had not done HARDSPL,
steps are:-
1. choose your favourite nk.nbf (from new rom) and put in the the folder of my tool ( that you had downloaded to your PC),
2. force Prophet into bootloader manually ------> very very important,
3. plug to PC and you should see the " USB" on the Prophet screen,
4. double click "upgrade.bat" from my lazy tool,
5. wait, and follow the on screen instruction,
6. DONE

That won't work as your tool needs an active sync connection!

follow it, and then after that, dioxdas tool will work.
I did my first flash a few days ago, eventually i had the same problem you have, I downloaded the original rom for my phone from an ftp (forgot the link) and it flashed successfully (no other rom was working!) from bootloaders screen then upgraded back to wm6.1 Hope this helps!
I have a small question for the experts, my IPL is 1.00 and SPL is 2.13, does this mean I have a g3 phone?

thanks to Chainfire, martinitime and many others for testing!
Instructions:
1) download Hard-SPL package from attachment, extract to an empty folder. make sure it's launched from a local drive (not through network drive, etc.)
2) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3) run RaphaelHardSPL-Unsigned_190_1_3.exe,
4) follow steps in the RUU, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
5) it should go to black screen now.
6) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 1.90.OliNex.
NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the volume down button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the volume down button when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe from second attachment to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually. i.e. you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious.
NOTE 3: this is unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs or radio packages. also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, we will soon post a stock SPL downgrade package.
NOTE 4: do not use this RUU for anything other than SPL flashing (i.e. hardspl or stock spl restore)!!! if you want to flash some other rom, then use customruu from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410761

UPDATE: STEP BY STEP HOW TO RETURN TO STOCK SPL - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!
0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. also download the original hardspl from the attachments in this post.
3. run the hardspl exe but do not click anything in RUU yet. just let the hardspl EXE extract the files for flashing.
4. the SPL you want to revert to is a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted hardspl package, overwriting the original NBH file in it!
5. continue with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+6. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen, should now just say 1.90.0000.
that's it.
will hopefull get one in a week or so as my contract is up for renewal on saturday but stocks are non existent at moment or so ive heard they sold out.

yeah, exactly this is why we need testing. it will most probably need extra tweaking, otherwise we would have just posted the file

I am a noob in this area. I am reading the forum for the last days and trying to upgrade my i-mate jamin G3 but i always get stuck...
I started this thread as it involves more than one thread I read, namely
- Windows Mobile 6 Directory For Dummies
- New WM6 Upgrade Guide
- HardSPL guide and files
- Prophet Tools Light: Just the flash! & Prophet Tools: Simplify Flashing--V2.8.3 now up!
- Current upgrade guide for the most ROMs
- LAZYTOOL For all nk.nbf FLASHING + 3 color bootup SOLUTION + (PLEASE READ.........)
- WM 6.5 build 21501 Titanium [ Fixed ] & Fixed CommManager, and other ROMs I tryed...
- ...
so here it goes:
#1# I tryed to run HardSPL an I got an error message like this:
'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard'
so i guess i didn't work...
#2# then I tryed with ProphetTools and after doing the HardSPL it asks (in jamin) to run JumpSPL I click on yes and then I get white screen (in jamin) I click the flash rom and then I get either:
- error 260 or 274 - connection - this sometimes is worked around and got to 208
or/then
- error 208 - file open (and I did put the nk.nbf rom file in ...\Tools (as said on PTL) and also tryed in ...\Utils\Flash)
#3# While in white screen (achieved with PTL) I also tryed ROM 21501 (with its own RUU) and I get 3 colour screen after supposedly successful upgrade...
#4# also tryed lazyTool but got the same 3 colour screen
#5# With the no vendor NVID_RUU (got from lazy tool thread) I got it back to WM5 and working, pitfully i forgot to dump my original rom so now i am stuck in WM5 in English (i at least had it in Portuguese - my native L)...

So any of senior experts plz advice

im a total noob here too but i never encountered the same prob as you have.. i see SPL 2.20 right... so if you want to flash a ROM from here its required that you do HardSPL. i have a G3 device too. you might want to try this... i will try to help as much as i can...
make sure your USB cable/cradle is working perfectly and try to attached it at the back of your PC CPU...
and btw are you using XP or VISTA? coz i use XP...
just RUN HardSPL and let it do its thing... when its done check your SPL again..

I just got another USB cable borrowed and tried the HardSPL you uploaded and it Worked
Actually It gave me the same error message about 'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard' but this time I didn't got the 3colour screen at the end, instead it restarted normally with SPL 2.G3
I am just waiting battery charge reaches 50% to try flashing it

Attached you find all you need to flash cooked ROMs on your Sedna.
This has been on my HDD for quite a long time. I nearly forgot I did this
The package includes:
sspl-1.02mfg-sedna.exe (copy it to your sedna and run it)
HardSPL-1.02-mfg-sedna.nbh (flash it after running the sspl)
CustomRUU.exe (use it to flash the HardSPL)
Once the HardSPL is installed on your device you can flash any ROM.

this forum has got to get big.. it is after all a nice big Toy..the sedna
so ill post my experiences and what i find out along the way.. so people can do it too

procedure...
to install hard spl you must do it this way...or at least i did and it worked for me
1. download the attached files
2. REMOVE SIM and SD CARDS !!
3. connect usb cable
4. copy sspl-xxxxxx.exe to your device and run it (usb cable must be connected!)
5. after a few seconds "USB" appears on the display
6. unplug and replug the usb cable
(OPTIONAL, better to skip it! step 7. Have a cigarette. If you dont smoke have a cup of tea)
8. you can now flash the hardspl-xxxxxx.nbh by running CustomRUU.exe. make sure hard spl and custom are in same folder
9. after installing the hardspl you can flash any rom
i did these exactly and it worked for me... when i go into bootloader it says SPL-1.02.HARD ... YIPeee!
to get to bootloader its in this forum somewhere..

im no expert but id say so...just keep the radio from a sedna rom.. it has the drivers i think... and port only a wm5 OS.nb

no never have, all new to me, would be very greatfull if someone fancyied building one for me

but i like to know how other people got on with theirs .. where they suceeded and failed so i can avoid pitfalls and get my jobs done right...

HELLO, Please anyone help me, I have a HTC P6500, I want to flash it that means current version is windows mobile 6 professional. My product is Orange UK,,,,,I have tried All ROM version but I have failed I have used all types of manhoods. When I click ROM update after going 5% flashing a message is seeing that is your phone can't supported tis software I want to use (Duttys_2.5_5.23144.5.3.10_3.14_HD2_ML_Family_ROM_(V6)_ITA.zipx)..Please give me a ROM software link I mean Italian language or New version Link

hi guys n gals,this is my first atempt to do this procedure on my sedna100,i followed instruction to unplug and replug back in,my screen is red-green-blue and whitewith usb in the white section its been like that for a wee while now and not syncing back up,can someone pls help...vrey much appreciated

Trying to flash hard spl onto p6500 so that I can flash the new ROM. CustomRUU keeps failing with Error 262. Restarting the process doesnt work.
My device is stuck on the 4 colour screen with serial/usb title.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have a lot of devices to do, so need to get the first one working first.

- a quick verification for correct installation is to boot into SPL tri-colour bootloader screen (keep volume down pressed while you turn on or reset). In the top-left corner it should display "1.28.Hard"
- to flash back the stock SPL 1.28.0000 run "flash-stock-1.28.0000.bat"
- to flash your original SPL run "flash-your-backup.bat"
- if the installation fails try again on another PC and make sure you logged in as administrator or as user with administrator rights. Alternatively run flash-hardspl.bat as administrator. If it still doesn't work look up this registry key in the phone:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\EXT_FLASHDRV]
Change the value "Dll" from "OEM_FLASHDRV.dll" to "OEM_FLASHDRVXXX.dll" and reboot the device. After rebooting into WM and after activesync is ready run flash-hardspl.bat . Check in tricolour bootloader screen if it is installed and then boot again into WM and change the registry value back to its old value.
If it still doesn't work try to flash an older version of the official rom available for your model. If that doesn't help then create a Goldcard and flash the WWE-Europe rom. A Goldcard can be created with PSAS. This tool will cost you a few bucks but it's worth each and every penny (hopefully you still have a few pennies left for a donation )

That's the so-called region protection which HTC introduced for roms for some regions (in particular russian and asian roms). They only run on devices sold for the same region.
Backup your current rom as explained here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5885171&postcount=28
and upload Part00, Part01 and Part02 to mediafire or sendspace
PM me the link when you are done.

When doing HSPL , just do the instructions , and the phone remains the same right ?! no programs deleted and no files missing ye ?
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.. but it's still showing 1.28.0000 in my boot loader... I've tried it from Vista and from XP with same results:

I've verified that :
-HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/0000101B = 1
-HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001001 = 1
Anything more I can test?
The loader screen is exactly the same as the shot in first post except for the 0000 instead of HARD, so I guess the modelid is the same one...

edit: I've tried to load the SPA ROM and it still says Invalid vendor ID.
Another quick question, does the phone have to be sim unlocked first?
