i got this htc mega it used to have a "test rom". now the phone had failed a flash and now it is stuck in boot loader.
on the RUU i got error 266: flash write.
on the phone i get " upgrade rom code error"
the phone doesnt seem to be branded with anything, as i mentioned earlier the rom that it had was a test rom.
any help is well appreciated.

Flash your stock ROM from the bootloader again.
What does it say in the bootloader?

it had a none branded test rom. i dont know where it came from. i attemted some stock roms but no go.
bootloader " upgrade rom code error"
in the end my brother decided that he should play with mtty and bricked the phone hahaha.
ehhh...
there is no boot loader now so i guess my problem is solved lol

I would like to know WHERE you found the instructions that said to relock the phone after upgrading to a custom rom and radio.
Also please provide more information in your post...are you upgrading from verizon stock? Are you trying to flash a custom 3.0.x rom with the new 3.35.04 radio?
More Info
Upgraded from stock 2.09 to Titan 2.10 then Titan radio 3.27. All Went well then the relocker!

"Upgrade to 3.35.651.2:
3. If running pre-3.16 code,
>a. run the relocker
(don't worry about getting out of the bootloader - tri-color screen)"
It won't get out of the tri-color bootloader and won't respond to downloads. The computer can't see the phone on the usb port.
You should ignore the name in "re-locker" You don't have to re-lock anything after flashing. Now your best bet is to run olipro's 2.40. It is the new Titan un-locker, then flash your ROM.
The problem you're having is you're trying to flash a 3.0.x rom on your phone and you have a stock bootloader that will only flash/boot verizon signed roms. I'm not sure who wrote that tutorial, but you don't have to relock anything after you unlock (unless you're trying to flash BACK to stock).
Run 2.40-olipro titan unlocker to unlock your phone again so you can run the sprint/htc update. Then cook a verizon 3.0.x rom, or flash the clean rom already cooked.
Wont work now

I do not think he is not going to be able to run 2.4 in from the bootloader screen because it is not signed by VZW. He is going to need a stock VZW RUU, run it in, then he can go forward again.
Right...i kind of assumed he knew this by me posting that 1.06 would only flash/boot signed verizon roms. I guess I shouldnt have assumed.
You need to get the stock verizon rom AND radio...flash them from the bootloader youre in. Once the stock stuff is on there...let the phone boot up. Now you can unlock with 2.4...and run the sprint update once again...and after that...a custom 3.x.x verizon rom.
Do NOT relock after!

Upgrading Radio ROM

Hey u guys, I have 2.60 SPL Olipro (it gave an error when installing it on the 100%, but in bootloader mode its what appears so i guess it is installed ). Either way Im trying to update my Radio ROM and i cant seem do it. Ive got the radio rom file and the custom RUU, although everytime i try to update it gives an error at 7% an the PDA gets stuck in the bootloader and the only solution is to install the orginal HTC ROM. in addition, the phone is not Super CID or something, it is unlocked by factory...
Geez nobody here can tell me how to flash a radio rom? i have superCID, hard spl 2.10... I already have the radio rom i want and a custom ruu, but it always gives me a "flash write" error.

Flashing Error! AHHH!

im not a newby to flashing ive been through my tytn flashing left and right. i just got my fuze about a month ago and ive been reading evaluating all these roms to see which one would be best for me with the least amount of bugs.
i had no issue unlockin my fuze and by doing that i know i can go straight to flashing. but when i go to flash my fuze it gives me a Error Code 244 Device ID....i have no clue and am completely lost. any help?
I'm not familiar with that error code but do you have Olinex's HardSPL? If not download it and flash it to your Fuze, and then you may flash cooked ROMs.
PRETTY POSITIVE I DO BECAUSE I SIM/SECURITY UNLOCKED MY PHONE ETC...
will it hurt to flash hardspl again even if i already have it on here?
Nope, just do the HardSPL again...
read this: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_RUU_Error_Codes
Even though its for the elf the error codes will be the same
also when u enter boot loader, does the top white bar say "security unlocked?"
be very sure you hardspl properly by holding down bottom volume button and soft reset button at the same time. Top left should be 1.90 olinex. if not, you are not hardspl properly.
im going to just reflash hard spl. i know its flashed bcuz i unlocked the phone and thats part of the process. see what happens then. thanks for all the info
no luck. getting the same error 244 invalid device id

That sounds really, really ominous. This is what error 244 says (thanks for the link, Warjcowski, it's an interesting read):
ERROR 244 (Invalid Model ID):
First reason: Your device is not CID unlocked, and the Model ID of your device does not match the Model ID of the ROM. CID unlock your device by flashing a Hard SPL and then try again, or flash a shipped ROM with the correct Model ID.
Second reason: You have the Hard SPL and are trying to flash a shipped ROM (which is attempting to overwrite the SPL). Flash a ROM that does not contain an SPL, or remove the SPL from this shipped ROM (i.e. use NBHextract.exe to grab all the components then rebuild just the OS.nb with HTC ROM Tool).
Third reason: You have the Hard SPL and are trying to flash an older (usually cooked) ROM. Downgrade to a USPL (different from Hard SPL!) using the 'white screen' method and then flash the ROM again.

That doesn't sound good. It makes me think you don't have hard spl. So I did a little poking around, and found this post from a thread that you started (emphasis mine):

In the first post, you said you had a fuze. You don't have a fuze, you've got a Sprint Touch Pro (unless you got rid of it and got a fuze-excuse me if you did). What ROM did you flash to your Touch Pro (probably Energy ROM, wasn't it?)? I'm afraid that you killed your phone.
excellent detective work Farmer Ted. I was going to go check to see all his posts as well to see what device he really had but you were ahead of me lol
i dont think ive killed my phone. im using it noe to reply. lol. i have not flashed any roms and im attempting. but i own fuze now
when you go into bootloader does it say? 1.90oilnex? i know someone said it before but i just want to make sure you have Hard Spl on there properly.
yes it did before i reflashed hardspl again. and it says it now too.....im sooo lost on what to do

Ok, now I'm really confused. In the first post, you say the phone is fine and you're using it to write the post. Maybe you're joking there-honestly, I don't know. But if it's fine, then why are you lost on what to do? Is the phone bricked, or is it fine? You can get into bootloader (I assume so, since you know that hard spl was flashed)? Then just flash your previous ROM back onto the phone off of an sd card.
im confused because i keep gwtting the same error message when i go to flash the rom

Let's head back to the basics again.
What exactly and completely does it say when you go to the bootloader screen?
What is the model number of the device you are trying to flash?
What carrier do you have?
What ROM are you trying to flash?
What method are you using to flash this ROM?
My bootloader shows the following
Security Unlocked
RAPH110
SPL-1.90.Olinex
MicroP-Raph (LED) v13
MicroP-Raph (KEY) v5
PSOC-Raph STAGE_CVT v0x36
I bought my fuze form a corpoate att store.
I have tmobile and have been using my fuze on the tmobile network for about a month now.
I have tried flashing via usb with actie sync. and when it goes to flash it brings up the percentage bar saying it could take ten minutes and just go straight to 100 percent in like 2 seconds then gives me the error invalid device id.
the rom i was attempting was natv v4 for the fuze. then i tried the elite rom as well. no luck same result
received response
Just flash from your SD card assuming you have one.

Help: Htc titan at&t (pi39100) stuk in bootloader

Hi, I need help here. I got an At&t HTC TITAN PI3900 stuck in bootloader mode - When turned off, pressing the power button or plugging the charger or usb would automatically brings the bootloader screen.
Things that I did:
Upgraded to the SPL (2.6?) from the HTC website to fix the unlock code problem re-entering it everytime I reboot.
Forced flash the WP 7.8 via seven-eighter, and everything is just fine.
Tried debranding and installinhg HSPL but all failed:
Goldcard via Y Cable was ok but when trying to flash EU ROM (IMG_Eternity_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.02_Radio_16.23.02.09_A_16.24.00.23_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE) via Goldcard method, it says "NOT ALLOW"
Tried to flash via Goldcard also the Cingular ROM ( IMG_Eternity_Cingular_US_1.10.502.04_Radio_16.23.02.26_A_16.27.00.23_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE) but always fails - OS and RADIO - Internal error or something
At this moment, the phone is still fine and working perfectly
The I flash via RUU (bootloader mode) the stock Cingular ROM same as the above,
( IMG_Eternity_Cingular_US_1.10.502.04_Radio_16.23.02.26_A_16.27.00.23_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE), error came - ERROR [226] FLASH WRITE ERROR
Tried to flash again the 2 ROMS mentioned above a couple of times via RUU, re-downloaded the ROM would still give me the same error. Also tried the TitanAdvancedRUU-V1.0.5, but still the same error.
Now my phone is stucked at bootloader screen. It can't enter also the USB HOST MODE, I don't know why
The bootloader screen says:
PI39100
SPL-2.6.160015.3 (140182)
eMMC SND 15188MB
TOUCH A1(F:81, ID:1. V11, B:F8)
Radio-16.23.02.26A
Serial
APPSBL
IMAGE CRC
FACTORY RESET
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated

There is no mention of SPL205 in any of your steps; had you successfully done that your SPL would be 2.5.160015 not 2.6.160015; it is once you've successfully flashed that step you would proceed to HSPL; however, if you're using the official stock 7.8 you're fine.

Yes I wasn't able to get it to SPL 2.5 that's why I can't proceed to the HSPL procedure, I don't know why I was having a "NOT ALLOW" error when flashing stock Cingular ROM via Goldcard

nada...nope...
I tried pretty much everything. So has Nikola, on this board...
I think some AT&T Titans and their nand memory get shot after trying to HSPL or debrand.
-Which therefore could be linked to a manufacturing problem with the Titan.
---As technically, my other AT&T Titan had no problem whatsoever getting the HSPL installed.
I guess I have to stop trying now Guess we'll be stuck at the official 7.8 for a while not until DFT releases something for us

[Q] My phone won't properly start, what should I do?

I have a XT1527 Moto E, and I wanted to flash the 5.1 rom I found (can't link it, but it's the one called surnia retus in motofirmware.centerit), it is stock firmware and my bootloader is locked so I tried flashing by extracting and flashing the contents one per one. It gave me an error saying preflashing validation error. My phone now won't go further past the fastboot, with the logs saying "version downgraded for boot / failed to validate boot image". To me, it sounds like the phone knows that it's not the official firmware for my specific phone or something.
I'm thinking about unlocking the bootloader and then reflashing the rom, maybe even flashing TWRP, formatting everything and then flashing the rom. I don't know if any of this is possible, and I'm nervous about the phone. What should I do?

You most likely will not be able to unlock the bootloader now, as it relies on a setting in the system itself (which will not boot for you.) You are in a tight spot right now, and you have my sympathies! First off, is your phone carrier branded? Secondly, did you get the error message right away, or did you successfully flash some of the firmware before hitting the error?

I live in Colombia, and every carrier here unlocks their phones, so mine is unlocked and probably uses a generic firmware. The error appeared after I tried flashing one per one, I guess it wrote something, but then the verification failed or something. I had flashed the first file, I think. Please help me, man, I don't know what to do.

I have the same problem in my xt1527 chile
It appears trying to flash the 5.1 to a phone that is bootloader locked and is running the wrong rom for it is an insta-brick. I have yet to see a fix for it. I tried it on a cricket version and it ended up successfully flashing the bootloader and a few other things, but not otheres. That then prevented me from going back to stock because it would require downgrading the bootloader. I sold it online (full disclosure of course) and am buying another one.
