do you have amons recovery image?
Sent from my Eris using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk

I have a recovery image that is a 1.5 image not sure if it is the one you refer to however.

Anyone know?

power down the phone. then hold volume up + power. if you see a green menu with different options, then you have a recovery mode installed.

yes, i do have recovery mode installed

All roms in the development section are all currently up to date with the newest kernels that offer overclock and some also have the newest 2.1 update which is v3 you just have to read the original post on each rom and the dev will have up all the information of what comes with the roms

Synergy r345; anyone get wifi working?

Sorry I'm new so was wondering if anyone could relay or respond. I can't seem to get any wifi tethering to work on Synergy r345.
Same...I was wanting to use the synergy ROM but after I flashed USB tethering was not working and neither was the hotspot it said I was not subscribed.
I am using Steel's ROM for now.
are you guys using cwm 4.0.1.4 recovery

using TWRP
using cwm cuz i have no other choice (htc official root) and wifi is borked.
can someone confirm changes to the new Synergy release?... is the 3G/4G notification gone? Also no settings access in the notification dropdown?
Your different things may not work if you are using a 2.3.3 ROM with a device that got the new OTA. Also 2.3.4 ROMs only work with the new kernels or stuff won't work.

Did you unlock with the HTC unlock? If so I do not think its allowing to flash a kernel. It appears to flash but it doesn't. Is the rom you're trying to flash a 2.3 rom? If so try flashing a kernel and seeing in settings if it actually changed. (If you used HTC to unlock that is) wifi was borked on my buddy's phone (used HTC unlock) with any 2.3 rom.

no, I used revolution for the unlock... I'm just guessing it's the new 2.3.4 I'll just wait it out a week or 2 and see what happens.
Ditto here. Flashed Synergy earlier today, and no wifi (specifically WPA2). It acts like it's going to connect and then just drops. I've tried the "gingerjane" kernel and Dream Kernel, and none work (and I did verify in the Settings that the kernel had properly been installed). I've even tried flashing different radios just for kicks.
This sucks
Flash the newest Synergy build, both wifi and usb tethering are working now. You will have to be familiar with svn, there is a guide on the second post I believe. Or you can wait for somebody to upload the revision 381. Then you can grab it and flash away.

From Group to GB

So I may be totally out of the loop or just getting old. I am running a rooted froyo and want to bump it to Gingerbread. The new release seems exciting... but I can't find any guides to go from froyo to GB... Can anyone help me out or is it a lot simpler than I think... I know I have to flash the radio maybe and then the Rom?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Since you didn't say which froyo you were coming from and some radios work on both froyo and gb download a gb radio and flash that in hboot first. Now download newest "rooted" version in general section, flash in recovery after a full wipe of data, cache, davlik since so much is updated.

Guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220484
very simple process, read the sections on flashing ROMs and radios, then it should take all of 20 minutes to actually do
note: if flashing the stock S-on, that's called and RUU, read the appropriate section of the guide and CHECK MD5 SUMS!!!
Yup will do thanks! I'm running 1.8.6 das bamf right now... I think its about time to upgrade this weekend

Questions and concerns. Important.

I am new.to my resound I came from a droid x. That is not a good rooting phone. I just flashed icsprerooted. It isnt rooted. It flashed successfully. I went in amon ra and tried the built in root install. Didn't work. I tried installing superuser.zip. didn't work. And now I noticed that for some reason the slow motoin camera is much darker than the regular.camera. is this normal. And can someone explain what changing kernelsdoes and the advantages are. Will thank good posts.

Which ICS build did you install? Got a link to it?
There's a post here about rooting the latest leak that says use this version of SU - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22680227&postcount=1036
As for kernels, stick with the stock one for ICS, there isn't really much of a selection besides SebastianFM's overclock kernels because the ICS kernel source code has not been released yet.

CM10 4.1JB to new OTA and a stock rooted/

Hey Guys,
I'm kinda lost and haven't found anything the forum that remotely resembles my problem.
I have a rooted EVO 4G LTE with CM10 JB 4.1. I'm sick of the ****ty camera picture quality and constant freezing while taking pictures (just freezes then the phone reboots) so i'm trying to go to a more of a stock rom that I'll just customize with launchers etc.
My question is, since I can't update the OTA from the rom, do i need to flash the new kernel and the stock rooted rom and if so what order? The other question I had if I do need to install the new kernel does it have to be in the root of the internal SD or external SD?
I tried flashing some of the newer stock rooted roms and none of them would work. I would get the message (bad) when trying to update through recovery. I thought at first that just meant a corrupted zip file but when trying 3 different roms that all said the same thing I thought maybe it could be because the kernel is different then what I have.
At any rate, if anyone could help with a link to some kind of guide (if anyone knows of one) or just some general directions that would be insanely helpful.
Thanks for any help offered!
Download the Rom of your choice. Pull the boot img from that Rom. That is the kernel you need to flash. The fact that your asking this question I would reccomend using the app " flash image gui". You can flash the boot img from your current Rom then immediately boot into recovery and flash the Rom.

Haha, yeah. Thanks! I like to dabble but I wouldn't call myself any kind of pro. I just wasn't sure if the rom would stay stable if I updated the kernel will still in the OS. Anyways, thanks again! :good:
Hey man I didn't wanna come off like I'm some kind of expert cause I know enough to get myself in trouble that's about it, but I have some expierence with a s-on device.
If your not sure just read some more. A good thread is "don't panic" in the Q&A section.
You should be fine tho
good luck

[Q] back again

ok so last week i was on here saying that i was having problems flashing roms to my phone. found out that because im s-on (also my hboot is 2.09) most roms i have to flash the kernal. so i was told to get the app flash image gui. i got it, flashed the kernal, it worked, but...... after the rom loaded my touch didnt work. i couldnt unlock the phone at all. so i went back to the previous rom. i tried another rom using the flash image gui and it did the same thing. it was as if the touch imput was gone. any reason why this happened? something i did wrong? thanks
What ROM did you flash and what version of TWRP are you on? If you took the latest OTA to software version 3.16 then you also got an update to the touch panel. Unless you get S-off and downgrade the touch panel, you have to use 3.16 ROM's and TWRP 2.4+.

the rom is jewel_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.0.1_20130401-180210.zip im using the TWRP 2.4 but flashing to 2.5 now
Like fin said, if you had the 3.16 ota on your device, the new touch panel drivers won't allow you to use PAC, you can't use anything but 3.16 based sense ROMs. You really will need to get s-off to enjoy your device. Good luck.
