I am very happy that the members here are so helpful.
I have an I-mate JASJAM(it was never locked, sold unlocked by the manufacture). Now I want to upgrade the default WM5 to WM6/WM6.5. SO I request u to plz suggest me the easiest and safest way(step-by-step process) to upgrade my jasjam without bricking it and what english-based rom(fast & stable) will be best for me @ the first time.
Although I read the flashing threads many times but I seems to be confused due to many members here have Bricking problem even after following the tutorials. This Jasjam is precious to me(someone gifted. ) and I don't want to loose it. And one thing more I need simple Roms like the default WM5(not with so many addons but must be fast & stable). I have downloaded PDACorner Pro v25, how's it?
Bootloader ver is 1.04
Reason for upgrading : To use Wifi ICS and for more storage(6gb/+)

There were many wiki named 'how to flash my hermes'. This is a link to one of them :

this link explained ways to flash your phone but the SDCard seems to be the best one. I flash my SPV M3100 with SDCard 3 times following this wiki.
Another one where it's clearly explained that your bootloader (1.04) allow you to flash with any Tytn custom ROM because this version doesn't verify rom CID :

If you go to the Hermes (TyTn) Wiki (here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes) then look down the page for Upgrading problems you should find all that you need and lots that halp with your problems. People will help you on this site but you are (reasonably) expected to have searched the forum for advice already offered that has helped others in your situation.
I have to say (as will others!) that you should have put Hard SPL on first before upgrading (I assume that you have bricked it through attempting to upgrade the OS ROM). Read the Wiki advice, search for those that have had similar problems and then, if you still need help then I'd suggest that you post your questions (with as many details as you can) back here - in your post.

Not Realy! I have read the wiki and all usefull threads 2 days before!
1. There are different updateways in different foren, threads and wikis and all are for G3. Some users, which have a G4 model write that you have to notice a few points, but the answers are not very clearly.
2. In the german XDA forum they tell me that I can use every prophet rom! BUT: In the wiki is written that the G3 and G4 devices have different hardware! So it is very illegitimate that I can use the same rom!
Please help me! In my statement you can see that I'm very careful because I don't want to brick it!

I've got the same problem. This forum is great, no doubt, but it's a MESS. I couldn't find a clear answer regarding flashing a CID LOCKED G4 Prophet.
Can I flash radio roms ? What about extrom ? Can I just flash Gullums Touch VII right away after flashing NVID rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310452 ? Can I even flash this NVID rom to CID LOCKED G4 ?
Lots of questions and for every one I can find 20 different answers, so I'm pretty confused. Maybe someone with the patience can clarify all of that, we don't want to brick our precious Prophets.

OK i see your Problem!
You can Flash all Roms with the NVID Flashtool. You can only Flash Roms with this tool, if no IPL and SPL is included! WM6 Roms use too ways to Flash it. Read the Threads about this WM6 Roms ... you need only to start the Update.bat or simulare bat file ... possible a NVID Flashtool. Some Roms have two bat files for G3 or G4 Device. Use the right! Radio Roms use everytime the NVID Flashtool and work everytime with locked devices.
You dont need the Shelltool way ... this is more Hardcore for develope.

My G4 runs WM6 now!
After again 5 hours investigation I know that you CAN'T kill your device with the prophet roms! When all people say "the device is bricked" they don't mean that nothing happens! They say "bricked" if the ppc stuck on the SPL/ISP screen or the bootloader. And both can be fixed with a RUU update like Prophet_PV_Temp or the original O2 rom!

For Up/Downgrading to Aku 2.2 (WM5)
Second: PV_4.0.0.0.6_Touch
The Real WM6 Rom
-Download and extract!
-Start "ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4", which install Aku2.2
#wait 10 minutes, your ppc restart automatically
-After the PPC is fully started, you install first "Cert_SPCS" and then "EnableRapi" (you can find the two files in PV_4.0.0.0.6_Touch)
#wait 1 minute and restart your device
-Now you can update your Rom with "Upgrade_Rom"
#wait ~15 minutes
-Hardreset your device! IMPORTANT!!!
Welcome to your new WM6 installation!
If your device stuck at the ISP/SPL screen (loading more than ~5 minutes), go into bootloader (camera + reset) and start again with upgrading to Aku2.2

There is olny one information about G4:
It is not possible to upgrade from a G3 model to a G4 model through software, as the DOC is a piece of Hardware.

Dear All,
I have read so many treats for upgrading (New Method).
I am not expert in this.
I have upgraded my Neo form WM5.0 to WM6.0 ,now on Transformation 1.1.
As after reading so many treats seem so many user are seem to be confusing to use new upgrade metho.
As others are doing in a click need to admit on their understanding.
Can any one answer on some of my question ?
I am sure this will help in removing my as well as others doughts.
1, For Hard SPL.
After Hard SPL is my current operating (Transformation 1.1 WM6) will remains the same or only which colour screen will apear on it and I have to update withs some WM Rome.
2, If Hard SPL donsent affect the existing rom.
Then after doing Hard SPL i just need to restart my Neo --> connect to PC
Through Active Syn. and need to exectue ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe from the folder with the ROM.Thats it new WM will be update on my Neo.
3, If I had Hard SPL once,
I read that once you have Hard SPL then no need to do it again,
does it mean once i have done Hard SPL then for any WM i just need to run WM rom that it no need for any Hard SPL.
I am dam sure all Great Gurus of this form is dong or else playing with all this upgradation process for WM 6/6.1.
All of us who are confuse on this new upgradation process will be really thankfull if some one just post some documents with sceeen shots for complete process form beging till the end to WM 6/6.1.
I know all those information are avilable on this form, also tried to read as much as i can but got confuse.

Your questions are a bit difficult to understand, but hee.. not everybody is educated in the English language...
I think I did get your point, so I'm trying to answer your questions:
1) HardSPL doesn't affect your OS, it only replaces the standard SPL. This makes it possible to flash any ROM with the RUU instead of only the Vendors release. Keep in mind that this universal ROM has to be in a nk.nbf format.
2) I did answer that question in point 1: Yes after a succesfull installation of HardSPL (you can check the systeminfo at startup) the only thing you have to do when you want to upgrade is to put the nk.nbf of your desired ROM together with the RUU-package and run the RUU when your device is connected through ActiveSync.
3) HardSPL stays resident, that means that you only have to execute that step once. Keep in mind though that most official ROM's install a complete firmware-package: OS, Splash, GSM and SPL. If you install such a ROM the included SPL will overwrite HardSPL. No big deal, but you have to install it again when you want to flash a homecooked ROM again.

I have a quick question, I didn't see it anywhere so thought I'd ask:
I'm going to be buying a locked 8525 and I want unlock it so I can use with T-Mobile and I want to upgrade the ROM to one of the many ROMs available here.
My question is: is there a particular order this must be done? Can I upgrade the ROM then unlock? Do I have to unlock, then do ROM? Or will upgrading the ROM unlock for me?
Just wanted to check if there one's a certain way, or if anyone else was in a similar situation.

Be a good idea after unlocking to check your SPL again because I'm pretty sure you downgrade it to SPL 1.40. This culd problems if you then try to refash thinking you've got Hard SPL ver 7 (SPL : 2.10 Olipro) installed. Cheers..

The last days I was reading a lot of posts, in order to get more information about this device and the options that i can have using a cooked rom.
But still have some questions, so please be pacient with me.
I have an 7500 with WM5 original rom portuguese language.
I understood that if I want to upgrade with AP5beta I need first to update the radio and then the SPL ( the SPL version will depend on the cooked rom ).
I will not need to unblock it, because it works with different sims.
Also for what I understood once I use the SPL3.5 I can not use anymore original roms ( or downgrade ). Is this correct?
If I upgrade my 7500 with the original WM6 roms, can I later use cooked rom's?
Does anyone, that have used only original rom's, noticed any difference between WM5 and WM6?

Welcome to the forum.
I noted your other post and it seems you are keen to play with your phone.
Sometimes when you do this , things go wrong , occasionally to the exent that it can't be fixed !
Most of the time , the mistakes have been made before, so if you are inexperienced, seek a friend to guide you or look and search on this forum before you do anything rash.
I would sugest first reading the wiki and asking questions showing you have done this first

After this I would suggest learning how to backup and restore data , before attempting to install the various program cabs.
When you are comfortable with this learn how to do a hard reset and reinstall your programs/data etc.
Next I would suggest that you find a copy of your original rom just in case you have to revert to it.
Next try an official Rom.
Along the way , I am sure you will make a mistake , but this is how most people learn how to fix their own problems.
By this time you will understand why you still have to use the athena unlocker

This should give you hours of enjoyment/frustration and along the way you may even learn the pros and cons of the various roms which , in the end are very subjective and depend on personal preference.

Ok, I understand that once I upgrade with a cooked rom based on SPL3.5 I can't go back to original rom's, neither to rom's using SPL1.2
So it means that is a "one go direction".
But what about upgrade to original WM6 and then if I want go to cooked rom's. Is that posible?
Sorry but I don't have this clear after reading your links.
Probably the best to do is going directly to an original rom, but of course if doing that doesn't give me the option of using cooked rom's I must be sure on what direction I must go.

No problem. Upgrade your ATHENA to official WM6 and AFTER you can choose to install the Athena WRAPPER and the cooked ROMs!
