You don't need a to cook a stock rom, that is why they are stock ....
If you have HSPL and it boots to the boot loader try flashing a custom ROM, that is compatible with your phone, via USB. OR if you actually want Stock , just download the stock rom for your Phone from your provider and flash it via USB, flashing from SD on the HD2 seems to be hit and miss ....

I have tried it already, it allways hang at 9%, but flashing the radio, and the rom, thru sd can go tbru but hangs on boot at htc white screen, maybe flashing original rom on separate radio and rom can unbricked it, and also removing the spl so that when flashing on sd wound remove hspl

Task29 will get over those bootloader and then stuck problems. Give it a try.

after task29 same still hangs on htc screen

perhaps try mtty instead of task 29? mtty doesnt use an nbh image, or any flash program, it issues the commands direct, so perhaps it will bypass the problem that is making teh flash fail.
Just an idea.

[Q] Stuck at bootloader when trying to flash stock rom

Like the title says, im just stuck at bootloader and instead of booting to the white screen it just stays on bootloader and says "SERIAL".
Ive googled, youtubed, and searched here, and many have the same problem, but i have yet to seen a solution to this.
I have tried android and many custom roms, and now im back on original ROM and everything works great. BUT i have HSPL in my phone and i dont want it for now.
It is a very easy procedure in the guides and should not be a problem, but please how can i get my LEOIMG.nbh to boot from my memorycard?
It is formated FAT32, and i have tried redownload the stock rom and unpacked it with winrar several times, but the result is always the same.
Is there some way to go around this? I Just wanna boot from the memorycard and restore my phone.
FYI, the restore is just for warranty issues.. I just want to be able to go back just to be on the safe side..
Then after that i can try the cooked roms all days
Thanks!
What size is the microSD card? As there has been reports of problems flashing from 16GB cards.
While in bootloader mode, you can plug in the microUSB and the 'Serial' should be replaced by 'USB'. This means that you can run the flashing from the computer (just ignore the requirement for ActiveSync).
Thanks for the quick reply!
I have a 8 GB memorycard.
Just before i read your post i inserted the usbcable and the screen on my htc says "USB".
But how do i uninstall HSPL from my PC in usbmode? Use customRUU and place LEOIMG.nbh in that folder?
If you install either the HTC Stock or your mobile provider's ROM (what ever you need for warranty requirements), they will flash your phone with SPL, ROM and RADIO.
These ROMs are avaiable from your mobile provider's website or via a link in the ROM Section.
Sounds great!
So i just run the original .exe file from my PC when my HTC HD2 is in bootloader screen in USB-mode, correct?
I have alreade flashed with original rom from PC when my phone was online. But then the HSPL did not go away even though my original rom was installed.
I could use alittle help too
when i try to update it stops at 4% tried to flash other energy roms with the same issue. don't know what todo to get past 4%

use the hspl.exe program to remove hspl just like you used it to apply it. just choose a stock spl instead of the hspl.
example, regular hd2, wants to go back to o2 stock everything.
run hspl2, choose 1.66.0000
run the o2 1.72.exe rom over usb.
all done.
if the rom doesn't flash its not the correct stock rom.

At first i used HSPL 3 to install 2.08.0000 HSPL.
But if i run that file again i only have the choice 2.08.0000.
I downloaded a previous version of HSPL, and there i could choose SPL 1.42.0000 wich was my original SPL version before the flash.
Is this a correct way to do this?
I am asking again because even though i now am at the original ROM and Original SPL version the Radio and Protokoll-version differs from the versions when i bought the telephone.
radio and protocol doesn't matter. yes you've done it right. so long as its a stock rom and the spl ends 0000 then it's fine.
Ok thanks!
Then everything is ok now and i am very happy for that, so thanks for all answers!
I can also add that i took my original SD-card (2GB) and put the LEOIMG.nbh on it.
The bootsequence then started ok when holding down volumebutton and power on.
But the result was exactly the same as it was when flashing to stock SPL with HSPL2 utility.
So the booting-problem was memorycard related.. So it seems that even some 8 gb memorymodules have problems.
Just thought you should know.

not sure if you are tmous tho you may want to start with your shipped or test masd 2.02 rom
As far I can remember, all tutorials said that hspl can be just "uninstalled".
The only way to get rid of hspl (and maglr at once) is to flash original rom
BUT FROM SD CARD.
Tutorial how to do that is in the "sticky" (third sticky in this subforum) section.
or better still, finish the process you started. . . apply a rom.
you cant just "apply hspl, apply magldr" and then stop, you gotta enter magldr and flash a wp7/android rom.
also, if you still have the original radio that shipped with your phone, it wont be high enough version to work.
enter bootloader and flash something like radio 2.11.50.x or higher.
This is not an error or fault at all, just plain user failure.
Did you try to flash stock rom? If activesync is not allowing it, then you can try it booting your phone in boot loader mode. But make sure you flash stock rom only.
Alternately you can flash via sd as mentioned by "rtomakov"
Thanks

Flashing stock rom via usb wont remove hspl!
so dear, you need to know this first...magldr will install in rom replacing your wm6.5......so after you do that you need a nand android build or wp7 to use with magldr or if you want wm 6.5, no need to remove hspl, just reflash the stock 1.48 wwe rom for india...search for that in the forum...this will replace the magldr..........just be sure not to flash the new stock 3.14 wwe rom over hspl..it will produce incompatibilities like small memory....if you want 3.14 rom, first flash stock 1.48 wwe, and then using hspl, uninstall hspl (select 1.42spl )...then install 3.14 wwe rom (be sure to flash india specific roms)

Yes a Official ROM will revert SPL but it will only do this if you flash it via SD card it will not revert HSPL if you flash it via USB.

I am not trying to discredit you nbee but educate you. if you flashed a official ROM via USB and had SPL and not HSPL then you must have never had HSPL in the first place as that is one of the reasons for having HSPL. HSPL stands for Hard Secondary Program Loader. The Hard means that it will not get overwritten with SPL (Secondary Program Loader) when flashing, and I quote this straight from the HSPL thread.
- This HSPL will not get overwritten when flashing a full NBH with SPL via RUU.

Hear is a link to the thread if you want to visit it. Also visit my guide I have linked in my sig to get a more complete understanding of SPL and HSPL. The reason why flashing via SD card does overwrite HSPL is you are not using a ROM update utility(RUU) you are using the HD2 itself to flash the ROM and HD2 is only programed to flash everything included in the .nbh file. When you use the ROM update utility it checks your phone first to see what set parameters/protocols matches you HD2 then flashes only what checks out and matches these parameters/protocols. Hope this helps you underrstand why I said to flash via SD card.
Cheers

Hi T-Macgnolia,
You are absolutely right, and really sorry for misunderstanding some basic facts. I have flashed more than one ROMs during last weeks. I tried to call back my remembrances, and I get in the swing of that I have re flashed original ROM with one another original ones. So in fact OSPL was rewritten with an OSPL.
My fault.
Dear isark, the right choose is SD flash as Hi T-Macgnolia said

Need help downgrading to 1.42 SPL from 2.10 SPL

Phone's bootloader info:
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-2.10.0000 8G XE
Also, I think I have the 1024 Leo, bought from T-Mobile with the Green/Red call/hangup buttons.
Can anyone help me with the downgrade?
From the official HSPL thread I read
"It is possible to downgrade to this SPL, by just flashing to an Official ROM
with this SPL version."
Can someone help a noob with this process? I've never flashed b4!
Also, my phone currently won't load and is stuck on the "stick together screen"
cakinlife,
Start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
Out of curiosity, why do you want to downgrade to 1.42 SPL?
After reading some guides, I think I need to downgrade to 1.42 in order to install HSPL don't I?
After that, I want to install android.
EDITTTTT
Hold up, I just continued reading some other stuff and found out I don't need to downgrade.
Problem is my phone gets stuck on the "Stick Together" screen. How do I install HSPL if I can't get phone to load?
Any tips? Thanks

That's correct. With the most recent HSPL4, you can go direct to 2.08.HSPL or 3.03 (2.08 if you wanna go Android)

Has this phone ever booted up? Have you flashed something previously which caused this condition? Radio?
In any case, I'm assuming you can get into bootloader, so you can just try running HSPL4 on your computer with your HD2 in bootloader mode-- that should allow you to install HSPL, and you can see if this rectifies the loading problem and then go from there. Alternatively, you can try starting totally from scratch by installing an appropriate factory/shipped ROM (with proper radio) from the microSD card (see the flashing thread for instructions). If this brings your phone back to a working baseline, then:
1)Flash HSPL
2)Flash your desired custom WinMo ROM and
3)install Android ROM on SD
**OR**2)Flash your desired NAND Android ROM (first taking care of incidentals like MAGLDR, etc-- as per Android flashing instructions)
Here's another instruction thread with numerous videos: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621930
HTH/ Good luck
Thanks RDionysus, I really appreciate all the info.
I'm going to try and go straight to HSPL4 from the bootloader.
I've actually never tried to flash anything, it just all of a sudden stopped booting on me which brought me to wanting to mod it
Going to try your suggestions, tytyty!
Hope it works out. Let us know!
So far I've installed HSPL and flashed the "NRG Engergize rom"
I'm still getting stuck on the bootup, now its stuck on the "NRG Energize" logo instead of the "Stick Together" logo.
I feel like I need to go back to stock to get that working baseline. How do I go about this step?
Should I go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=577717
and download all the files under "Leo 1.48 ROMs" ?

If you have a tmous the ONLY stock roms you can flash are tmous roms from T-Mobile.com or the tmous section here on xda.
Astock rom that is not tmous will destroy your phone.

its actually an executable zip, not really a .exe.
If you rename the extension to .zip, it will open in whatever zip program you have installed, and you will see about 9 files inside, one of which is RUU_Signed.nbh, around 220meg size, its way the biggest file in there, you cant miss it,. , thats the rom(and radio and splash and spl), extract that and rename it, copy it to sd, and enter bootloader. The other files are the program that performs the flash over USB.
Thanks a mil, Im gonna try when i return from classes
So I reflashed the T-mobile rom with success however I still get stuck at the stick together screen even with a fresh install.
Anyone have any tips?
After reviewing the thread, I would consider a strong possibility that there is something wrong with the hardware. But before throwing in the towel, here's what I would try first:
REMOVE the SIM card and any SD card you have in the phone. Perform a hard reset. If you still get hung at the "stick together" screens then try...
RE-FLASH the stock (baseline) rom you obtained earlier, but this time first hook the phone up to your computer and perform a Task 29, then flash, and finally hard reset. Don't skip any steps, and leave out of the phone both your sim card and the microSD card (in case one of them are faulty). If, after the final hard-reset your phone manages to successfully boot up all the way, then insert the cards and see if everything is operational.
Good luck.

[Q] Need help flashing stock rom!

I currently have a MIUI android ROM installed but want to go back to WinMo 6.5 (stock). Now when i try to flash the ROM like i did before, its says on my PC USB Init failed, connection problem. The bootloader screen does say usb. Also when I try to flash trough the MAGLDR flash modus there is USB standing but i cant flash. I've also tried flashing the stock ROM from my SD card as an NBH file but it wont work.. Also repartitioning and all the stuff dont work because they all have te connection problem. I have tried multiple USB cables. Anyone know a solution??
you say that the SD flash doesn't work, can you elaborate a bit more?
explain everything you did, what ROM did you try, if you can give me the whole step by step you tried to SD card flash, including and file name changes etc
SD flash is usually the last resort and if you tried it with a genuine original Stock ROM it should work, albeit it will change the RADIO, SPL and ROM at the same time...
Hello,
I intend to downgrade my hd2 Europe version, from Android with Magldr, to stock Rom,
because of some bootloops i encounter after trying install wp7, so i want to start from scratch and try flashing wp7 or Android again!
I have HSPL 2.08 and i want to flash a Greek Stock Rom
(RUU_Leo_S_HTC_ELL_3.14.482.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship)
OR
(HTC HD2-RUU_Leo_HTC_ELL_1.66.482.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship_2).
My radio is 2.15.50.14.
So far i have made some research and i understand that:
1st. i must flash a stock Rom from SD.
2nd. The hspl will be replaced with stock SPL. Do i need to flash HSPL 3.03, as 3.14 ROMs on HTC HD2 Eu require SPL 3.03.0000 or HSPL 3.03, before flashing stock Rom from SD? What about 1.66 Rom?
The stock SPL version depends from the Rom which i would choose, or will be the same?
after that I just need to run HSPL4, install HSPL2.08 and continue with Magldr as i have done in the past?
Is there something I should be extremely careful so as not I have a fatal problem?
Thanks in advance everyone who will help a confused man!!!

just follow the guide on the relevant ROM that your interested in
but if your playing with WP then use HSPL 2.08
if your flashing a stock ROM via SD as you pointed out it will replace the SLP with the one that comes with that ROM, so it doesn't matter what you do, then you can use HSPL4 to install the required version for the ROM that you want to use. You can use HSPL 4 to revert back to a stock SPL as well, but if you have any doubt at all then just re flash a original stock ROM, you cant go wrong at all then
Well, if i try to flash anything from my pc it says connection error. When I use flasher modus the HD2 freezes and i need to pull out the battery. I also tried flashing the stock ROM from my SD card but that also doesnt work. I use MAGLDR 1.13 and HSPL 2.08 i think. The current ROM is MyMIUI V11.
i managed to install the stock rom but now i cannot install magldr. When i start the installation the hd2 shows bootloader, then goes into the installation screen but after 1 second it flashes back to bootloader.. any help?
are you putting the phone in to the tri coloured bootloader with the word "serial" at the bottom? plug in to a USB port and the word changes to "USB" then install MAGLDR?
just so im clear what you have tried
