Hi.. i dropped my phone last night by mistake and it gave me an issue with the screen. The screen is not rendering colours properly it is showing yellow patches on it but when i flex the phone or press the bottom part of the phone it works perfectly fine.i thought there might be something loose so i opened the phone myself and tightened the screws and the lock cables but this did not help me as well.Have i damaged the screen or the digitizer?also when i put in the charging cable and move cable up down the color changed to green or sometimes blue
you probably loosened something inside. more to the point, if you touched the screw with the sticker on the warranty is void.
i dont have warranty mate

Hello gurus,
I have spent a few hours first looking around in the wiki for help. None found yet. Please diagnose and help me get my display working so it does not fade when I release finger pressure from the tmobile logo area. To operate the unit constant pressure need be applied to that spot for the display to bleed through. Otherwise it fades to white. Please advise. Thanks. G
I have the same problem, I have to keep it squeezed on the left hand side.. I read a thread about it before and everyone was saying that its a loose/crap connection for the screen..
It sounds like a loose connection in your upper slide. I would recommend finding locating the Wizard Service Manual and following it to dis-assemble your device and "tighten" up that loose connection.
KEEP IN MIND TAKING APART YOUR DEVICE WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY
If you find that it is not a loose connection and that there may be a more serious issue, then I recommend sending your device back to HTC to have it repaired.
EDIT:: Found it:

It's for sure a connector problem. This happened to me 3 months ago. I dropped the phone and it went white. so i dissembled the phone and the film connector that is used to connect the mainboard with the screen was loosen. i put the connector back in place and everything was ok.
Last hour,my optimus just felt from my bathroom(duh)
its about 1meter ,and i am pretty sure there is no water inside (coz the bathroom is pretty clean, and my phone is coated with a protector) sound like a moron
now, whenever i try to boot my phone its only show blackscreen
there is no lovely yellow screen, just black(i already tried vol+home+power)
but i am sure, despite my phone only show black screen its normally boot up(and working)
and that true!!i received a call from my mother lately!(and i can accept tat call)
so,my question is:
is my warranty can clean this mess?
of course i will say to the beloved-smart-service-guy-can-do anything;
"Last night i was playing a game, and suddenly it reboot and my phone only show black screen" #dummyface
No sign of exterior damage? If no then just try to fool the service guy. There's nothing to lose
nah
unluckly i found small scratch near power button
but,is this true tat my PCB is broken?
am i right or am i right???

I think your screen digitizer or lcd is not connected correctly to connecter of display so check that or your lcd has problem..there is no problem of software..just check your display is connected right or your display has peoblem..

most likely hardware not soft
IF YOU BREAK IT SORRY BUT YOU CAN TRY
open up again clean sockets inspect phone for visual damage (near screws edges etc.) to the board
connect screen to board outside of case so you have access to screen socket plug in the charger and gently touch the ribbon/socket when on if no changes try gently bending the board (very gently you do not want to make something loose or even worse snap the thing) see if any effect on display post any findings
|PS its easy to buy faulty screen as they are not transported the way they should be try to replace
Thanks, ill try all advices i hope i can do something with it, cuz she has a few things on it, that she will like to preserve.. and u know.. if she dont get it, will be my fault.. haha Thank so much ! hehe
One morning I woke up and the bottom half of my Samsung galaxy avant (SM-G386T) had a grid of white lines going across it. First time I restarted my phone it went away.
But they keep coming back and now it's more permanent, Sometimes it goes away briefly but they come back. I tried factory resetting. That worked the first time for a few hours but then it came back. and I tried it again and 2nd time there white lines where there during the factory reset.
The lines even show when I turn the phone off and charge the phone. So I believe this means it is w hardware issue
I tried taking the back planel of the phone off. I disconnected and reconnected the lcd connector latch on the left side. But the problem still persists. I haven't pulled up the screen with a suction cup. So Idk if there is a cable that could be loose on the front end or not. But Idk want to go buy suctions cup if I dont need to you.
Should note that I do have a good sturdy rubber case on my phone. but it has hit the floor a few good times.
One other thing that seems to aggravate or sometimes even make the lines go away is putting my phone to sleep and waking it up repeatedly or adjusting my brightness to max.
What do you guys think? is this fixable or do I need to replace the lcd screen.
man its simple
just press the wires of display which are providing it power & ur problem will be gone.
Its due to lack of sufficient current to display!!

What wires are you speaking of exactly. cause like I said I have taken the back off and disconnected and reconnected the LCD flex cable but nothing changed. Are there wires behind the LCD I need to get to? which means I need to removed the screen with a suction cup?
Hi there - I am wondering if I can get some help here.
I had an old working HTC Evo 3D and I use it as a spare phone during travel to use prepaid SIM cards. I wanted to change the complete housing of Evo 3d and purchased a front, middle & back frame from online OEM vendors. As a newbie, I was so excited and started to disassemble the phone and to put into the new housing. All went well till I started to take the LCD and digitizer from the old housing. I made a mistake and ripped the flex cable of the digitizer. I felt very bad and then I decided that I need to order a new digitizer online.
I continued to reassemble the phone with the new housing till I receive my new digitizer. I made sure that I kept the sticky tape in the front housing intact so its easy to take it again. I completed the assembling and when I turned on the phone the LCD was displaying white and black dots like grains. However, I could hear the HTC boot sound the “Quietly Brilliant” sound. At this point, I thought I have damaged the LCD too.
Today, I tired to switch again, I dont see the phone booting-up or hear the boot-up sound or see the white and black grain screen. When I charge the phone, I see the red LED light and then after some time it turns green. I tried all type of resets like power+volume buttons, power+camera button, long press power button. However, I dont think anything is happening.
Now, I am worried if the problem is now with the display or I damaged the motherboard. Does anyone know if the phone wont start if there is a damage to the LCD/digitzer? I am just waiting to know what might be the problem before ordering LCD/digitizer. I am unable to check which part is damaged now.
Thanks in advance!
