Root for Gratia?

Will Root, and when?
As of right now, I don't think anyone has done it. Us Aria users were able to use unrevoked--hopefully support for the Gratia will come soon.
Here is a previous thread--maybe you can work with them to get it rooted?

The current HBOOT on the newer HTC phones is the issue. Until another exploit is discovered, a permanent rooting solution is not yet available. The Unrevoked team made this tweet recently so maybe hope is on the horizon:

So with Root silence...

Second thread, second post, same answer. There is no documented method for rooting a Gratia that was shipped with Android 2.2.
Ok, thanx!

The kernel source code is not the key to rooting a device. The bootloader is locked down and has closed a hole that was previously used to exploit and root the device. The source code that was released today does not include the bootloader code.

Ok..so I think root for Gratia will never arrive. Bootloader surely has another hole but we need someone who find it out.

There are several current HTC devices that have the same issue, not just the Gratia/Aria and there are several devs in the HTC community that are looking for a new exploit. Hopefully it will only be a matter of time...
Must sux to have stock froyo since last year and not be able to root. I just got my jap aria last month and barely keeping it together with out the root.
I'm interested in rooting my Gratia too
Permanent root is impossible now, but temporary root is possible via Visionary+ R14 (Tested)

Thanks for the confirmation. I also thought temp root should be possible and that will allow you to run most of the apps that need root access.
Temporary root really works? How many people tried it?
I'm really afraid of brick...
sorry for my english

This is a very old thread. It's possible to software S-OFF the Gratia now, which includes the ability to permanently root.

Does one click root work for stock ics?

i just got my amaze yesterday, i installed the official ics OTA this morning, and now i want to root it. Does the one click root program work for the Amaze while it is on stock ics or would i have to downgrade?
I'm not sure, Look for hasoons all in one tool in the dev section. Has recoveries root and another one specifically for s off. You will find you will use his tool if you flash constantly

Hasoons tool wouldnt work for me when i updated to the WIND ICS OTA, i had to find the sudo package and install it via recovery. it did work for me in gingerbread.. just a heads up..
No one click. Read the stickies... Learn about unlocking bootloaders, 4 ext recovery, flashing superuser in recovery, and supercid. It's all rather simple. PLENTY of threads about it.

That one click does not work. It only works on GB 1.36. The exploit was fixed in 1.43 GB and newer.

It might help you if you took the time reading the Amaze 4G Bible.
We recommend every newbie to read it. It provides a lot of useful info.
After reading it and understanding how rooting is done on the amaze, come back.

From what I have read there is not 1 for our phones yet, but HTC just released 1 for the Developer Edition only.
nope
wouldnt mind doing a fresh RUU install either
So how are RUUs acquired?
People in the HTC developer program used to have access to them and leak them to us. But lately htc has been cracking down on that.
