There may be some truth to this (although I doubt it)

Are you guys for real? I thought that UK will release it first but nothing really says on the twitter that 2.1 is even ready.
2.1 is scheduled to start on Week 43, which starts on the 24th, but no specific date. That's as real as it gets. Anyone claiming anything before is just straight up lies.

I read in this month's issue of Stuff magazine that a new version of the XDA will be released later this year.
Browsing on internet I found only one link that showed a picture of a xda with a blue back panel and could as well be the original model.
Has anyone heard about this and maybe know where to find more info on this (if O2 will support them for instance) and some specs and maybe photo's?

There will be a new version of the XDA but it's not certain yet which company/ies will be releasing it. I heard some rumours about bluetooth, more memory and a faster processor, I haven't heard anything on SDIO support yet.
Bluetooth would be great, WiFi would be fantastic. Maybe even GPS and a 56K color screen (for the freaks among us to watch movies)?
Anyone know the mail adress/website of HTC who makes them? Have some requests of my own....

If it has the newer Xscale CPU it's very likely it will support SDIO. The SD controller is build-in the CPU and all Xscale CPU's support SDIO.

Ok, first off, getting your electronics info from "Stuff" magazine is like getting steak grilling tips from PETA. Plus all magazines like that are typically posted about two months after they are written, making them pretty useless for new developments.
Secondly, predicting a new XDA is like predicting that the sun will come up tomorrow, that winter will come in a few months, or that the curry I ate today will sting my ass tomorrow. It's obviously going to happen.
It's worthless until they say "on this date a new XDA with these features will be available." And when they can do that, you'll already have read it here two months earlier.

i have a pc pro subscription. They had a review of the new iPaq with pocketPc 2k3. they went on to mention that all the pocket devices will be getting the update. including XDA.
Tomorrow never comes? But we old get older, and hopefully wiser...

Sorry, I wasn't laughing AT you, but WITH you... I posted what I did because many people don't realize just how that publishing process goes--it's very lengthy and full of PR assholes. Those "what's new in electronics" columns are one of my pet peeves. And I'm a gruff asshole by nature anyway, so it came out worse than intended.
Hehe, no harm done. At least you were true about Stuff Magazine and most of it's other companions.

I spoke to T Mobile UK about when the MDA was going to be introduced. They said that it was originally going to be introduced in March but now has been put back to the end of this year (because of techical difficulties?).
I wonder if they are planning to introduce the new unit.

This s the response I received from Carrier Devices regarding the New Qtek (XDA):
"There are plans for a new Qtek device, however I can't give out any official information. It won't be available until the end of the year, but will have Built in Bluetooth, SDIO and be tri-band"

i got a Email the other day that said something about an update on april 25....it said sony is changing the personal space name to something different along with a software update. maybe this is a hint towards the ics update?

This is not about ICS update , in 1stQ Of 2012 , Sony Are Changing PSN, TO SEN (Sony Entertainment NetWork), Playmemories will be replacing Personal Space. And a few, cant remember.

This very much could be from very bad journalism writing/information, but I have read 2 articles already suggesting that the ATT Titan users will receive Tango earlier such as this month or next??? -Probably because of the firmware updates that need to be pushed out along with the software updates. (IMO)
What do other ATT Titan owners think? Bad journalism/false hope?

i've just finished a chat with the german Moto Support team... And i'm very disappointed!
so what happened?
i've registered for chatting and got Stefan as my chat partner.
First thing he did was redirecting to another chat partner... while i was the ONLY ONE chatting to Motorola... 'cause it was 10:01 my chat started... And chat opened at 10:00...
So now i talked to Nicole...
After my first question of how they want to deliver the ICS OTA in Q2 she asked me if i have an unbranded device...
...whyever that was important...
the following facts were given to me while chatting with Nicole:
she has no idea what she's doing
development process is over (maybe)
retail version can't be delivered
she has no idea what she's doing (2nd time)
retail OTA not available because of the carriers
retail OTA can only be delivered while delivering branded OTA's
carriers are adding stuff for a branded ICS now
she has no idea if there's a SOAK test or not
she has no idea what she's doing (3rd time)
support team is responsible for providing information about ICS updates
support team has no information about ICS updates
i no more believe in any official GSM OTA for germany in Q2
... or maybe german chat support members are totally unqualified ...

I suspect that you just got someone with very limited knowledge of the ICS update schedule. We're seeing it happen for members on here so it must be in the pipeline for us non US RAZR owners, the question is when? I'm tempted to flash a non UK leak but am trying to remain patient as I'm sure that we'll have something soon ) Hear your frustration though and feel it too! Hang on in there!

These people are notoriously incapable of fixing anything. Their names are always fakes, since you're communicating with someone in some far off land and you'd be hard pressed to pronounce or even recognize their real name. Their answers are picked from a premade list... it's so bad, it's often assumed they're chat 'bots and not people at all... but they are.
"I am sorry you are having difficulties with your ICS for Motorola Razr today. I will do my best to resolve your question"
These people have no knowledge of updates at all. They're just a buffer zone to skim off problems before they go to phone support. Employees at the retail store level are a better source and you know how much THEY know, right?
The first person you talk to on phone support is barely better. Try to get past this person quickly and politely. When it's clear that they do not know, ask to talk to someone else. That will bring you to tier 2 support and they're the ones that have the most knowledge. But, they're less of them around, so plan on being on hold for awhile. And, when they finally talk to you, it's clear this is the first person who has even a basic clue.
...and they won't be able to answer you about ICS, either. At this point, you've wasted more time than it would have taken to plant an inside made at the Motorola's corporate offices to spy for you.
How many people are still waiting? I backed early in the Kick start campaign. Rarely get a response when I email and when I do it sounds so generic.
Thought all the October Dev editions were supposed to ship by April.

Omate finally sent my fuc**ng watch and guess what...
Those odd crew called Omate really don't know what are they doing...
No CE (FCC for EU), no invoice or any document in box of .
Now my watch is sitting in custom office and will be sent back to China...
They (probably) won't accept Amazon payment invoice because that's not enough.
There's only Roki mentioned and amount, no item, description...nothing..
So...I know you want your watch, I want it too but I gave up and really don't care anymore - it's not worth of all that stress...
Belgium users aslo have problems because there's no CE, customs could even destroy devices - that's practice in whole EU - no CE and confirmation of origin - it'll be destroyed...
Really sad and quite annoying...
