[Q] Which ROM is the bast for your battery? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My battery can be use only 1/2 day (from 1-2 days) after I put android ROM into my phone.
Thank you very much.
--------------------------------------
Sorry, bast=best

My favorite is mccmjoon76 build 2.5 with 2.14 Radio Rom & VBNROM Reloaded, michyprima's r11 AXI.
Battery lasts 35-40 h in normal use. (30 min Nav, 30 min surfing, twitter, email, mms, 20 min games, double checking time every hour
Set CPU settings: 998 max -> 245 min conservativ.
screen off: 576 max -> 254 min
screen brightnes about 30%
i think in these settings the device consumes less energy than with stock WM 6.5

[Q] Ultimate setCPU settings for HD2

Hi!
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the best setCPU settings for HD2, with respect to battery life and stability(no lag), are?
I've been searching for the answer on many forums but haven't been able to find a definite answer.
Thanks for your thoughts and recommendations!
Personally, I don't see the need for setCPU. I get no more than 7mA drainage per minute when in standby and my phone is already as fast as I'll ever need it to be. Am I missing something? I can easily get 30+ hours out of my phone with moderate to heavy usage.
Oh, I've had these same battery results on Shubcraft, SuperHD2, Hyperdroid, Bangsters, and the new Desire HD ROM.
Chuckydroid ROM
2.12 Radio
Stock 16gb microsd
Max to 245
Min to 245
That will guarantee long battery life
You really should search tho

I agree with alpinestars
i think ondemand is bit buggy the kernel dont choose the right Scall
sometime its choose 1000mhz with 20% cpu used that is wasting
my setting in adv
Up Threshold 55
down "" 50
freq step 20%
screen off
245-384 interactive
battery 1.5%ph [4 hours test]
its might be laggy a bit from idling to full using like watching movie
but its should stop after 100ms berrly noticeable
Question
Ok BIGGGG newbie question i know but i got to ask this lol, what do you mean by governor=interactive? I mean i know how to use setCPU been using it for a while now but...i don't seam to have that scaling.
I'm using setCPU 2.0.3 full version.
is there a kernel with higher max clockrate than 1190 ??

That i know No there is not, its the higher safe clockrate of the HD2. Higher is trying to make your phone a fryed egg lololol
I dont see Interactive on my SetCPU, I see:
Conservative
Ondemand
PowerSave
Userspace
Performance
Do I have a different version?

What kernel and Android are you running? Some Android build has interactive while others don't.

making a fryed egg out of this crap would be the best thing i do
I have an easier solution.
Just send it to me and I'll send you a fried egg --postage paid.

Seen pics of a Milestone @1400
now thats crazy as they begin with a 600Mhz
I found that 245max 245 min setting in screen off is not a good setting
i use 576 max/min in screen off makes a result that only 1% drop in 75 min
i test it last night when i sleep hehe (average 3-7 ma)
Try these settings I posted in the thread "If you're using setcpu, try these profiles."
Tomorrow I am going to test a set up I just made. It should be called the Step Setup.
The purpose of this setup is to trying to keep the phone running smooth while being proportional and saving battery. This is my first attempt so I will be tweaking it as I test it and receive input.
Keeping the same priority settings as I have listed is crucial because if the order is out of place it will not downclock at the right time.
Here are the settings:
Main - Max:1036 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive (set on boot checked)
Profiles
Screen off - Max:245 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority:100
Battery<10 - Max:384 Min:245 Scaling: Interactive Priority 75
Battery<15 - Max:422 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 70
Battery<20 - Max:499 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 65
Battery<30 - Max:576 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 55
Battery<40 - Max:614 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 45
Battery<50 - Max:652 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 35
Battery<75 - Max:768 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 10
Battery<85 - Max:883 Min:245 Scaling:Interactive Priority 0
Advanced - Min Sample Rate:20000
This should be speedy and give great battery life. If your kernel doesn't allow Interactive scaling try setting everything to On Demand and in the advanced tab set the Up Threshold to 30.
EDIT: Using this with a combination of the VBN Android Rom has achieved some insane battery life. Yesterday I listened to music for a majority of the day, on and off, using the internet a few times and texting and when I went to bed the battery was around 30%, and that was around 12 hours of having my phone on me. My battery is old and has been charged a lot, a new battery or extended battery would provide crazy results.

My mini pro reboots by itself!! :-(

hello to everyone. I have a problem with my device. When I am running apps such as facebook, after 5 minutes of usage or after 10 15 minutes, the screen freezes, I cant press anything and after 8-10 seconds the phone reboots by itself:-(. I cant find the reason. Here are my device settings
CPU Settings:
Governors: ONDEMAND
Min CPU Freq: 122 MHz
Max CPU Freq: 691 MHz (i was using 729 I thought reducing this one, would fix my problem.)
About my phone:
Kernel Version: 2. 6. 29. [email protected] 1
Mod Version: Froyo MiniCM/CMv6 Hybrid by slade87 and owain94. v6.0
Where is the problem???
any background apps running?
you are using really outdated rom, probably you will have better overclocking possibilities with newer roms and kernels.
and try returning to default cpu values and see if it reboots.

Q ] Battery life!!!

Hello,can anyone tell me how longer last your battery life with normal usage?
i've tried everything but my battery last less than 2h in normal usage, and not to be able to unplug the charger is pain in the head
Am using MiniCM7 by nobodyatall!
Thanks in advance : ]

Mine used to last about 4 days on stock rom, playing with nAa's kernel kind of buggered it up for me, so i'm not using that anymore. I've got my battery back to about 2 days now, but it's very erratic.
But that doesn't happen to everyone, so i'm not sure where the problem is with that.

Check what is hogging ur battery. The time the screen is on is what hogs battery the most, but in ur case is very extreme.
Did this happen right after u flashed the rom? or after a few days?
Try a full wipe and reinstall it. If problem still persist try a different rom.
If still no solution then most probably ur battery is dying on u. Best if u can test with a spare batt to cross out battery problem.
mine in standby (with 3g enabled all time) goes between 18 to 27 hours, depends of the signal strength and signal fluctuations
using it, (with 3g enable all time) goes between 4 to 6 hours depends on what I was doing and if I was static or on the move.

On my X10mini depends how often I use it.
- 3,5hours of hard playing (from max to absolutely depleting the bat)
- 12 - 16 hours of normal using (internet, sms, calling, gprs still enabled)
- 2 days standby (with few sms, some calls...)
Latest minicm7 with latest nAa kernel, cpu smartassv2 122 - 600 (now at 691), swap partition 200MB, brightness about 25% - 50%...
i'm running MiniCM9-3.0.3 with the nAa-ics-04 kernel on my mini pro and the bat lasts ~10hours by normal usage (sms, calls, a LOT of twitter, g+)..
before i had minicm7 with stockkernel and the bat lasts ~6 hours.. after deleting the facebook app it lasts ~8 hours.. (the fb app used nearly 20% bat and i haven't used it..)
try to delete all apps you don't use..
sorry for my english.. i'm not a native speaker =P
On my battery stat page. Display is always at the top, somewhere around 60% :S brightness is set to Auto and I barely ever use phone in bright light. Display off time is set to 30 secs, but i cant make it any less. I need it to be this much. The whole battery timing is around 18 to 24 hous in normal usage. Dunno how long standby should be, never tried. Using MiniCM7.

I would change this from <91% to <71% or something around that value. The phone has really good battery life so i think cutting the frequency that fast wouldn't make much of a difference

[ROOT] Change CPU temp. limits ("Manage" overheating) (Updated 10/11/15)

**** Update 25/1/2015 Add No Aggresive 2.0 Mod
By FirstMn
This "mod" help can you with CPU Overheating in Sony Xperia M4 Aqua, but remember!
1) You are installing it, and its your choose. That mean you bear full reposinbility for your machine. I dont have any duty or reposinbility to your device.
2) If phone, or parts of phone (sd Card, SIM, CPU,..) will break, read 1)
3) My work you can share, copy, edit, link. But if you write me as default creator, it will be good.
What is best? For gaming it is Performancefriendly.
For lower heating it is MinimumOverheating.
Other mods are things like experiments..

---- Types of mods
----
1) 26.1.A.2.167_Original (MOST STABLE)
In short: Original settings from Sony
Original CPU managing from system. Useful if you won't backup original files or not like these mods.
CPU temperature range -> CPU clock:
Original:
.SMALL cores (up to 1.1 GHz)
65 - 70*C -> 1136 MHz
72 - 77*C -> 800 MHz
75 - 80*C -> 800 MHz
79 - 83*C -> 499 MHz
85 - 95*C -> 200 MHz
.BIG cores (up to 1.5 GHz)
60 - 70*C -> 1136 MHz
72 - 77*C -> 960 MHz
76 - 81*C -> 800 MHz
79 - 84*C -> 533 MHz
85 - 95*C -> 400 MHz
GPU temperature range -> GPU clock:
Original:
55 - 60*C -> 400 MHz
70 - 75*C -> 220 MHz
#Original ranges and clocks is written in all your files. It is not easyiest way to open these two files in your /system/etc
---
---
2) Performance friendly (STABLE)
In short: High performance stay for longer time, but phone gets hot.
Max. CPU temperature is 90*C, more is starting to clock down, when 93*C, it will clock to 400 and 200 MHz(Minimum CPU clock)
For me, it never go over 90*C.
In original i had max. 80*C, this allow +10*C. No.t too much, but i dont want burn my CPU, but if you want, you can set it to more than 90*C, it is your phone ...
GPU temperature is 80*C max. , when 82*C, it will drop to 200 MHz clock,
Original was max. 75*C.( I dont want experiment.. )
CPU temperature range -> CPU clock:
Lower than 90*C -> 1453 MHz
90 - 90,5*C -> 200 MHz (6 Cores)
91 - 91,5*C -> 1133 MHz
92 - 92,5*C -> 800 MHz
93 - 93,5*C -> 533 MHz
94 - 95*C -> 400 MHz
Core shutdowning changed only in 1.st stage, other are original
GPU temperature range -> GPU clock:
Lower than 80*C -> 550 MHz
80 - 81*C -> 400 MHz
81,5 - 82*C -> 220 MHz
---
---
3) Minimum overheating (STABLE)
In short: Lower overheating, but still good performace
This you select if you dont like phone to be hot.
Phone can't go over 70/71*C, that is 10*C under default.The phone is warm, but not hot, it only heating (for me).Here is another system than high performance, when goes "hot" (65*C), system set CPU clock to lowest what can, and every one stage it shuts one CPU core (in last is turned on only one). Dont panic, CPU stay long time middle 65-68*C.
CPU temperature -> CPU clock:
Lower than 65*C -> 1459 MHz (8 Cores)
65 - 67*C -> 200 MHz (8 Cores)
68 - 70*C -> 200 MHz (6 Cores)
71 - 73*C -> 200 MHz (4 Cores)
74 - 77*C -> 200 MHz (2 Cores)
80 - 81*C -> 200 MHz (1 Core)
GPU temperature -> GPU clock:
Lower than 55*C -> 550 MHz
55 - 60*C -> 400 MHz
60 - 62*C -> 220 MHz
---
---
4) No aggresive (DANGEROUS!!!)
In short: Minimum limiting CPU temp.. Phone hot but fast. But dangerous !!!!!!!!!!!
I set limit to 120*C, but i mean its have in build protection for prevent damage and its lowering temperature in 100-110*C. But i warning you is dangerous !!!!!!. When goes too hot, phone will automatically fast shutdown ! (Fast shutdown = Same if you use power button in microsd slot)
CPU temperature -> CPU clock:
Lower than 100-110*C -> 1459 MHz
Higher than 100-110*C -> Auto by system default
110 - 115 *C -> 220 MHz (1 Core)
Higher than 115-120*C -> Shutdown device
GPU temperature -> GPU clock:
Lower than 89*C -> 550 MHz
Higher than 90*C -> 220 MHz
No Aggresive 2.0 (STABLE)
In short: If you need maximum perfomance, you will have ! But if you dont want, you will cold.
Fixing this problems with first No Aggresive:
1) Warm-Hot in normal situations:
Not warm-hot phone in normal situations now - when browsing web, switching between apps, messenger, facebook, and other. Phone was heated, not much.
2) Some lag when really overheated:
Faster cool down when in high temp, and more little lag.
You get performace when you really need ! You wont be on low clock when playing games - when you need maximum perfomance, you will have it.
CPU temperature -> CPU clock:
to 45*C -> 1459MHz (Big) 1113MHz (Little)
45-60*C -> 400MHz (Big) 249MHz (Little)
60-104*C -> 1459MHz (Big) 1113MHz (Little)
104*C -> 200MHz (All)
115-120*C -> Shutdown device; Not really reachable. Never reached more than 105*C
GPU temperature -> GPU clock:
Lower than 90*C -> 550 MHz
Higher than 90*C -> 220 MHz
---
---
5) Very aggresive (UNSTABLE!!!)
In short: Really minimum overheating what phone can, but low performance and unstable.
CPU wont go over 55*C in maximum load, that is good and phone is little warm.Totally inappropriate for hard gaming, but for normal use is good.
Tested with interactive CPU goovernor !
Highly recommened do not use performance goovernor !
In phone startup few minutes phone bit lagging, but after few minutes it will ok.In long time maximum cpu frequency and load phone can lag and cause restart.
If you are using phone for basic things, like Chrome, FB, Office, Phone, etc. Its good. But for hard use try another one mod. Minimum Overheating is better and more stable.
CPU temperature -> CPU clock:
Lower than 50*C -> 1459 MHz
Higher than 50*C -> 200 MHz (1 Core)
GPU temperature -> GPU clock:
(As default Sony settings)
Lower than 55*C -> 550 MHz
55 - 60*C -> 400 MHz
60 - 62*C -> 220 MHz
----
----
6) 26.1.A.2.167_Custom (STABLE)
In short: Modifed default sony settings, more effective with minimum lagging !
Used same system as in Minimum Overheating, when reach "limit", turn on all cores (except 1) and clock to 200 MHz. It very fast cool down !
CPU temperature range -> CPU clock:
60 - 70*C -> 1459 MHz
72 - 77*C -> 1459 MHz
76 - 79*C -> 1459 MHz
80 - 81*C -> 200 MHz (1 Core)
81 - 95*C -> 200 MHz (1 Core)
GPU temperature range -> GPU clock:
Lower than 65*C -> 550 MHz
Higher than 65*C -> 220 MHz

---- Using in real life
Mods are tested with max cpu load, wich my finish is know what is highest temperature of phone with using mod. But for testing in real life need loger time for test.
No Aggresive:
I am using a week No Aggresive mod wich mean phone doing maximum what can, but with more, and really more overheating. But phone alive. Camera app never shutdown! Phone is full time in max frequency (performance goovernor), but in using you feel phone is bit more warm, when playing is hot. Phone never shutdown beacause overheating. If you are like good performace, its good to try this. But dont let phone to be (very) long time in maximum load, max cpu load with camera app and flashlight, its dead combination.(If you do it, then phone go over 100*C,and phone is too hot to touch, but who it doing normally in real use?)
I personally this mod like most, i bought phone with good performace and i knew its is overheating, and dont mind its hot.
Very aggresive:
All important things are in mod title. Its only for basic using, and high cpu load, mean phone will freeze and restart (yes, it did me). If you play with it, good luck with low fps and next freeze. Basic using mean Using Chrome, Phone, SMS, FB. Im not saying dont play videos and dont use camera, it can /and cant lag too, i cant warrant you it, i used camera and YT a lot and all was ok.
26.1.A.2.167_Original
No comment.. This you have if you not modifed it..
Minimum Overheating
I like it. And if you dont like hot phone, but still want play games and use phone a lot, try this. But all is time. In No Aggresive phone never slow down, but temperature is normal 50 - 90*C, when i writing this, phone was 50-55*C. And here we have limit 65-67*C. Its good for gaming not perfect. The clock down from 1.4GHz to 200MHz if you reach 67*C it do for low than one second, and in second is back on maximum. But long time playing it will do more and more frequently.
Minimum Overheating or VeryAggresive? MinimumOverheating better. It is stable and never freeze phone, or lag when using Higher load. (As i say, temperature is 50-90*C in No Aggresive, and Very Aggresive have limit in 50*C.)But phone is warm. Not hot, not too hot to touch, but warm.
Performance Friendly
It lowering cpu clock in 90*C, what in No Aggresive is 50 - 90 is average. As in name, this give you more performance but too more temperature. For gaming, hard and normal use is good. But why i prefer No Aggresive? Beacause when goes to 90*C, phone clock down, and for little time slow down, as in Minimum Overheating. But in No Aggresive is risk to damage device (but i really dont know what this phone can withstand, and i dont want try it), where in Performance Friendly no..
This mod is best for gaming, more better than No Aggresive..
26.1.A.2.167_Custom
To test
No Aggresive 2.0
Really like and using this mod. Prefering before NoAggresive beacause better control When reach high temperatures and gain performance only When you need. Phone stay cold long time (OK, not cold ,but not warm, normal temperature..) and When i start play WoT or RR3 , in first seconds can lag (bit), but its good after that. Phone heat up very much, but can play unlimited time (until battery need charge), but phone will hot.I must inform you i tested it on AOSGP 1.1 ,not in stock ROM (as others). But i think it wont make a sense

I dont like laggy Asphalt or GTAs, im setting performance goovernor before playing, and it become hot in minutes..
Thank you! I will test it. For now i have only a problem: my phone randomly reboot. I not think its because of battery removed and reinserted, all connectors are ok! I will try minimum overheating and then maximum performances...
Random reboots
I had too random reboots and app crash, i had firmware. 128 Commerical and Journalists, now updated to. 167 and all ok.Good is do LogCat if you have Root and read.. Or send to developers what know it..
hi..! i like your tweak and I appreciate your work. but, I have a small question and am in need of some help. could you please explain me what the numbers mean? i could understand the file partially but to do tweaking by myself... I can't understand exactly how to command a core shutdown.
I am really interested to modify the cpu core behaviour to the temps. i bought this phone indeed to do this and use it without overheating (thanks to you). if you could kindly help, I will do the tweaking according to my likings and will post them to you.
could you kindly do that? please?
thanks in advance
I did what i can
1) Example:
[TUL_8936_NORMAL_BIG_CORE0]
algo_type monitor
sensor tsens_tz_sensor5
sampling 1000
thresholds 50000 60000 70000 90000 100000
thresholds_clr 40000 55000 60000 80000 90000
actions cluster0 cluster0 cluster0 cluster0 cluster0
action_info 1113600 800000 800000 533333 400000
2)What is what:
[TUL_8936_NORMAL_BIG_CORE0]
-- its like title..
algo_type monitor
-- do not modify it..
sensor tsens_tz_sensor5
-- senzor name
-- you can check senzor names in Aida64 or other apps
-- you can change it
-- when temperature in this senzor will reach thresold, or go over, action will trigger
sampling 1000
-- dont modify..
thresholds 50000 60000 70000 90000 100000
-- my favourite thresolds,(=limits)
-- limits are separated with space (50000 60000)
-- limits are in Celsius units (°C)
-- limits are in 1*1000 units, that mean 1°C = 1000. Example: 50000 is 50°C
-- when is this reached, action will started/did
thresholds_clr 40000 55000 60000 80000 90000
-- same as up
-- it is start of limit
actions cluster0 cluster0 cluster0 cluster0 cluster0
-- name of the action (what phone will do)
-- you can change it, names of actions are down
-- actions is knotted to action_info
-- if actions are more than 1, they are separated with + (Ex. Cluster0+Hotplug0+Hotplug1)
--: cluster0, cluster1
-- it will change cpu clock to every 4 cores
-- cluster0 is for .BIG cores , cluster1 for .LITTLE
--: hotplug0 , hotplug1 , hotplug2 , hotplug3 , etc.
-- it will turn on or off core (number at end mean number of core - ex. hotplug0 manage core0)
--: gpu
-- it will change gpu clock
--: s_cam, battery
-- i dont know , sorry
action_info 1113600 800000 800000 533333 400000
-- details of action
-- if actions are more than 1, you can separate it with + (Ex. 1113600+0)
-- here is CPU clock , in Hz (400000 = 400 000Hz = 400MHz)
--: if action is cluster0
-- then here you write CPU clock in Hz (as written up
--: if action is hotplug0, hotplug1, etc.
-- then here you write number 0 or 1.
-- 0 mean CPU Core will Turned On
-- 1 mean CPU Core will Turned Off
--: if action is gpu
-- then here you write GPU clock in Hz
Hello:
I used the "PowerSaving" method mentioned in this post, also I tryed whit ROM Toolbox Pro, to force the CPU stay in 200 MHz all the time.
But it stills overheat like hell: 70ºC when screen is on and 45ºC when screen is off.
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks in adivice
Personally, the first firmware OTA update i had for my 2306 fixed overheating. But why not try Coolify? Seems safer
Question: does this work on 26.1.A.3.111?
Coding is the same as 26.1.A.2.167, just change a few values on 26.1.A.3.111. Default 26.1.A.3.111 seems to have better overheat handling than 26.1.A.2.167.
Gonna backup originals and use MinimumOverheating, see how it goes.

I change the governor to performance and it does not decrease the frequencies until I reach the temperature that establishes the configuration in this case (performancefriendly)
