Why not? This is the app section, where the community is welcome to share, discuss, and post apps of their likings on or off market so long that its not warez.
Is that a problem for you? I mean really, just because it's old to you doesn't mean its not new to someone else, and some people search the internet before searching the market for new and cool apps.

1: You read my post to yourself in a tone that I wasn't using. That's understandable, I didn't put a little emoticon at the end. It's impossible to translate tone over text.
2: Some people might feel uncomfortable side loading apps from unknown sources. Rather than posting the QR code so people could view the application's security access, you posted mirrors. It's not entirely irrational for someone to question whether or not the application has been modified to allow malicious activity. I see that you posted a link to another page that has the QR code, but wouldn't it have been enough to post just the QR without numerous mirrors?
If you're the developer or are affiliated with Bejoy Mobile, then it would make a lot more sense. Their site seems to be down.

QR codes can be easier I suppose. But don't they require camera? Barcode scanner? I know people who's camera don't work, and some people, like my wife, don't know anything about apps like barcode scanner and wouldn't know what to do with it if they had it. Almost everyone, is familiar with links and mirrors, and as anything else you download from the internet...you download at your own risk. So I'm not obligated to edit my postings according to personal security of peace in mind to the anonymous viewers as to whether or the not the app has been modified in any malicious way.
As far as your posting, I did not read it in any type of tone at all, You asked a question & I answered. Simple as that. Maybe my answer carried a tone that disturbed you, if so, I apoligize...heres a few smiley's to lighten the mood--

It was the "" that implied that you were being defensive.
You can't say that "almost everyone" is familiar with links and mirrors (or installing non-market apps for that matter. If they're on AT&T, they can't do that unless they root their phone or use ADB).
When I bought a Vibrant at the T-Mobile store, it came with a little pamphlet suggesting applications, one of them was the barcode scanner. It explained what it was for and how to use it. A customer can always call or visit the store where they purchased their phone to ask questions like, "I saw a cool paint program on a discussion forum with a funny little code. How do I install that?"
But - and again this is an assumption, much like the one you made about almost everyone being familiar with download mirrors - if they're perusing a developer's forum, there's a good chance they at least know what a QR code is.
I would imagine that the average user would feel more comfortable seeing the application in the Android Market along with all the other ones, with all of the application's security access explained to them. Do you really believe there are people who wouldn't question something on a random download site plastered with ads and other visual spam?
Also, why would you flat-out refuse to edit your post to make people feel safer about downloading an application that you wanted to share? Ignoring the fact that I never even suggested that you edit your post (that's why I posted the QR code myself) it's just weird that you wouldn't.

Keyword "ALMOST".. I never said everyone... I said "ALMOST" which means the percentage of those that do is higher than the percentage of those that don't.

Anything else?
@horrorwolf: I'm not trolling. If I was trolling, I would be purposely trying to get a rise out of people by being offensive or rude. I'm merely suggesting that there are better, safer, and more reliable ways to refer an application to the public.
The manner of "Klyentel"'s responses are just kind of stupid. It's weird that he would be so uppity about this. Even in his last post, he's arguing with me. If he developed an application and wanted it on the market, he would have to outline the application's security access. If he didn't, or lied about it, it would be taken down. I just don't understand why someone would go through the trouble of uploading a market app to several random mirrors and then posting them here unless they modified it in some way (either with different icons, widgets, or with malicious script)
@Klyentel: No, nothing else from me. Clearly, you are infallible. Enjoy going through life a self-absorbed jackass.

No need for the name calling stranger. If thats what you wanted to know all you had to do was ask:
I didn't upload the app first of all some one else did, I don't host apps, and I don't use any of those crappy mirrors, I have my own mirror site, check my sig. I just simply re-posted these mirrors from somewhere else, for others to use.
Secondly, the benefit is the user can have a copy of the apk on their computer to use for their own reasons, or share with someone else for that matter.
This is my topic, my thread. So of course I will respond to every thing you say. Like it or not. Over and out.
no longer available on market, anybody know how and why?

Hey everyone,
Some of you may know me from some of the programs I have made, to others I may be a whole new name. In any case, I am CycloneZephyrxz7, a developer and co-founder to Chicken-Egg Solutions. My friend and I conceived the idea: "People want programs, but can't code ... We can code, but can't think of ideas ... Lets mix it up!" and then came our project "Chicken-Egg Solutions"
Currently, we are employed in making a website for an up-and-coming Musician, and have a few more sites on the negotiating table.
BUT I AM SORRY ... this post is NOT ADVERTISING, I am just giving a little background.
Take the top like a Resume of sorts, to see if you all are in support of this idea of Continuing the XDA-Marketplace.
I spoke with my friend (the web-development expert of the two of us) to see if he would be up to making this, and taking on the now cancelled project. He said "If people are interested, then sure". So Please Please vote in the Poll and tell me if you would like to see this project resurrected! He and I are very devoted, and if we were to take on the project, we would sure be able to pump out results and updates [he being the web-developer, and I being the mobile and PC developer]
So yeah, if the polls turn out good, then we will have a new project, and XDA will have an organized application/hack/improvement repository!
After a long conversation, and reviewing some basic ideas of how we would attack such a project, my friend and I agreed:
We Will Ressurect the XDA-Marketplace and Make it Our Project!
We are going to start working on the website in the coming week. This is the plan of action we have decided to take:
Step 1: Conceptualization
In this stage of the creation of the new XDA-Marketplace, my friend and I will draw up designs for a functional, simple, yet feature-rich website. We will consider everything from ease of coding, to ease of use, to organization in the future. Our goal at this point is to generate the idea of a 'perfect' website that will accommodate all the needs we for-see the Marketplace needing the in Future
Step 2: Images ► Code
At this point, we will move on to taking our concept ideas, and making the code that will make them work. This process will take by far the longest time, but it will also be when the website goes live. During this stage, it will be accessible to the public [or maybe a private group of testers?] We will often update the code, expand on features, and finalize the website. It is here that Bug Reports are crucial, as we don't want to end up fixing one component that breaks everything else.
Step 3: Advertisement and Rallying
I know that advertising is generally against Forum rules, but the point of this advertising will be to make the XDA-Marketplace more popular. The more popular it is, the more applications that are submitted to the website, the more users can get. We will probably go about this by contacting developers on the website, and across the web, asking them to join and submit their applications. Of course, applications my friend and I make will go on the website [no more special than anybody elses ] This stage will continue on indefinitely, but we will proceed to Step 4 after we gain a little bit of attention.
Step 4: Portability
It is here, once the website has gathered a bit of popularity, that I will work on making the Mobile Application(s) that will allow even more Ease of Use for end-users. This will not simply be a browser that loads a website, no. It will connect to the internet and download the corresponding data, and parse it on the phone itself, to keep the speed of the website at its maximum.
Step 5: Additional Features
It is here that we mainly visualize making an API. This API will serve the purpose of allowing other developers to make client applications that can access the XDA-Marketplace via a Phone [and Maybe a PC]. The main API feature we will make sure to implement is a Version checker. Going along with what I had mentioned about making the site Update-Friendly, this API method would allow programs to be able to remind users [with consent for data usage] that there is an Urgent/Suggested/Minor/Beta/Alpha/etc. Update available. We may possibly expand this to include donations linked to the XDA-Marketplace, and other features we put on the website itself.
Step 6: Improvement and Development
Now the wheels of production will slow down immensely. Here we will concentrate on what can become of the Marketplace, now that we have made it into a large entity. We will have a suggestion form allowing users to give us ideas towards improvement.
As you can see, there is a lot to be done with this Marketplace, and my friend and I prefer to start from scratch. We own a portion of server and a set amount of Bandwidth, along with a domain ... however, if this is to benefit the whole XDA community, what we have will not cut it. Until the website goes live and public, it will be hosted on our website in an area restricted to Privileged users only [to conserve bandwidth]. Eventually, however, we will need to upgrade to Unlimited space and Bandwidth to accomodate for new files, new users, and common visitors. We will also probably want to buy a Domain Name in order to make it easier for people to access the MarketPlace (instead of going to Marketplace.Chicken-eggsolutions.com ... Imagine typing that every time!). My friend and I agreed, that while we are doing this to assist the community, promote development, and promote Windows Mobile and Android, we will simply not be able to keep this alive very long without monetary support from you all. At this moment we are not asking for donations, rather commitments to donations in the future. We would like to know that as we make this, people will support us with the fees of running such a website. So if you could please be so generous as to contribute to the future of the XDA-Marketplace, we would appreciate it greatly. We can also promise you that all donations and commitments will go towards the XDA-Marketplace, and nothing else. Please either Post here, or PM me to place commitments, and your name will be listed on the thread to show everyone that YOU SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF THE XDA-MARKETPLACE

I think that this is an excellent idea. Thanks for working on something like this.
nice good idea would be nice to see it actually go off the ground ;D
Please don't let this die!
LeSScro has lot of idea but not capability to code programs...
then i say YES... we Can ! or you can...
Lot of project can be started and make some interestings things...
I am a developer and I do have a lot of ideas. But working in free time cuts the effort I can put into projects and we do have more requesters than coders!
Also what is an issue is, that we diffuse the market with this. There is a good place to put applications and get feedback, called Omarket (I guess you all know that). Providing just more and more sources will kill WinMo instead of helping it for the future!
There are more then 5k apps in the Omarket already. (not all of really high quality). I think XDA should ban more of the bull**** posts in app / dev forums and move the chatters to the boards, dedicated to chatting...
If you think I am wrong, please tell me!
im down for this

I know what OMarket is and everything, heck I had my Fake Fingerprint LockScreen application on there...but the whole thing just seemed to Haphazardly put together. One day, they literally just deleted my app from their website, and it took me days just to get in contact with them. I asked them to put it back up, and they never did. I decided not to put in the effort again, especially since it was rather difficult to make a good-looking description area [no easy preview ... had to re-load every time].
I don't actually believe that adding another Market will bring down WinMo ... if anything it will help it out. The thing with OMarket, as large as it is, is that it has a bunch of OLD random applications, making it hard to navigate correctly. Also, I don't find many XDA apps on there [or I can't find them because they are hidden amongst all the old stuff].
I am in no way trying to tear down OMarket ... it is great, I have to admit. I have used it myself. I just feel, as a developer myself, that much more can be done with a market ... and I am offering this opportunity to the XDA Community
I think that if this program is created it needs to be apps created by XDA Devs.
Maybe having a system where the XDA login is the same login name for this market..
I am also apart of a PSP community that has a homebrew app called 'MHU Free Store' where user can download apps/games/themes/portals/CFW.
So also, maybe, if we make the market apps/games/themes etc.. but from only XDA devs this can be really something that is an excellent idea.
I am sorry if that was not implied by the name of the app. But yes, this market would concentrate mainly on applications featured on XDA Forums. And that is a great idea! If/When I get this started with my friend, I will be sure to see if I can work something out with XDA to get logon's to be the same. I'll contact the Admin when the time arises.
Let me clarify:
If/When my friend and I take on this project we are going to be aiming for the following end product:
•Easy to navigate [via a Mobile app, Mobile/PC Page, and PC app]
•Organized in a way that is friendly to Version Upgrades, and doesn't hid apps with potential beneath heaps of amateur applications
• Accommodations for Donation Buttons [Since I understand that aspect ]
•[As suggested by Tribulattifather] Log-on in sync with XDA Forums [Will need to work with Admin on that matter]
•We will go to the Devs, if need be, to get all the apps centralized on one website.
•Easy of Use, Simplicity, and Convenience
A major thing I want to ensure: The CAB file should be available upon download [unlike with Windows Marketplace ... I believe?]
I would like to think right now that the end result would be great, I just need the support and Ideas [support - to convince my friend to take on this project, Ideas - to make the site YOUR site, the best it can be!] I am pretty sure he is going to say yes though ... I have been pushing him.
It is OFFICIAL. My friend and I are taking on this project!!
See the first post for details!!!
Congrats! And Thank You~
Once this project is up and going I will start donating (possibly monthly) to help with the server costs.
That is a promise!
I hope others will join me in this as well. As this app will be for us; so why not.
Cheers,
Trib
Thank You for stepping up first Tribulattifather! Its good to know some people are truly interested in the future of these devices and XDA.
In any case, I am very happy to say that I spent my 1 hour of Health class designing the website. I haven't passed it by my friend yet ... but I personally think the design is Do-Able and pretty darn modern looking. I will get those transformed from paper/pencil to Photoshopped images ... and if my friend likes them, Step 1 will be complete, and I will upload the proposed design of the website!
I will be submitting my apps to and how would all the advertisements work on this app?
You might have misunderstood the Advertising Step. That step is geared more towards rallying support from Developers for the Website as a whole, not for specific programs.
We have spoken, however, and will definitely be offering some special features such as Advertising, Keeping Updated Programs, etc.
We are currently working on a prototype layout to the website...when we get that going, we will post Screenshots for all to see!

Update - stage 2
So in my last update, I said my friend and I were working on Stage 2 of the development process. So now I am here to give you another update!
We are still on Stage 2, it will take a while longer, but we thought it may be a good idea to give you a tiny tiny preview of what we have going on.
Don't be mislead by the image, we have completed more than is shown in the image, but we only wanted to show so much ... in case we decide to change up the final details. So basically, what is in this image, you can assume will stay constant in the website until later later later on.
So ... Enjoy! Maybe we will release another image later tonight.

Hey,
Just updating you all again. We decided to 'finalize' a bit more, so here comes another Screenshot your way! Enjoy.
Just as a little 'let-you-know', this site is being semi-modeled after XDA, since it is the XDA-Marketplace after all, so certain things may end up reminding you of XDA. Also, all the links in the top-bar change color when hovered over [like on XDA!].
So enjoy!
[ALSO: IF QUOTING THIS MESSAGE, PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THE IMAGE. IT MAKES THE PAGE DISTINCTLY LARGER, AFFECTING MOBILE USERS]
Tiny Wings Bounce you play as the bird who cant fly because he is too fat. Well I got the audio from a video not his website. I love when people somehow become police around here. Iam not selling the game but providing freeware. I love it !!! I make a freeware game and someone always comes with copywrite stuff all the time.
Look Iam making games so that when people get bored they can play for FREE. Its not like Iam making a million dollars ripping someone off!!! Iam making zero,$0,nada,nothing from this game. I swear people start this non-sense because they have no life.
Well I'm not gonna do anything about it, but someone else might; people are police around here cuz xda as a whole is trying to keep a clean professional rep. In general, mobile piracy happens mostly on forums, and xda doesn't want to be associated with that.
The least you could do is say "inspired by" and "music / noises by" in your first post, and provide a link to the iOS game...
Also, it's not nonsense; the US government (and most of the world for that matter) haven't yet decided how to handle copyright cases, and so there are a lot of unreasonable consequences forced upon the defendant. Even for petty cases, the courts and government turn a blind eye to illegal responses (and in excessive force) by companies "protecting" their content. Even in something as small as this, for your own good, cover your back.

So in your mind me using the music is equivelent to piracy. So how about all the
ROMs and android working on windows mobile , do you think thats legal?
If you didnt know Tiny Wings is an iphone game , which most people do , its not my fault.
Look at flash games that use mario or sonic , look at the internet as a whole. Piracy is giving away payed goods for free or making money off of someones work.
Obviously you dont even know the definition of Piracy if you think Iam a pirate Hahahahaha . Now thats too funny , also Mr.Andreas already knows about my port and doesnt care .
Freeware=Piracy LOL!!!
I do not think this is piracy, I merely pointed out that forums such as these are easily susceptible to unknowingly hosting several kinds of illicit data. If whatshisface is ok with it so be it, but I still think you should give him credit for the idea out of common decency.
I have not been attacking you at all, so stop being overly defensive.

In a way you have been attacking him and continue too by calling his game illicit data.. are you an xda Mod? No i didn't think so, so stop trying to police this thread!! If you have a problem with it use the report button thats what it's there for!! Can you honestly sit there and say you wouldn't get defensive if you spent countless hours making fun games to share for FREE, then instead of getting thanked, all you get in return is "I hope you got permission for that audio."? Give OP a break, I'm sure if it was such a problem xda wouldn't allow him to continually share his works here!!
@ Op.. Thanks again for sharing all your fun games with us!!

Again let xda deal with it if it's not legal! I still fail to see how your comment "I hope you got permission for that audio" translates to a so called friendly warning? You would have pm'ed him your message or would have worded it differently if your intent was to be friendly. To me it seems like your trying to start trouble here and get it removed.

Instead of "letting xda deal with it", you could, you know, give credit and cover your back so xda doesn't have to deal with it. If I were trying to get it removed, I would have actually done something. Talking to you guys about covering your backs isn't starting trouble...
Also, "friendly warning" = no repercussions. I'm warning him, I'm not calling him out on it or tipping off anyone. I'm not being nice about it either, because not giving credit to the author is very discourteous, legality aside.

No actually that would be warning = no repercussions. You claimed "friendly" when there's been nothing friendly about any of your posts in this thread. You're acting as if he took the original, resized it, and is now calling it his own or as if he owes you something. Like I said if it was such a problem xda would/could make appropriate changes not you!! You shared your views and gave your "friendly" warning to the op so move on already!!
I ,like many other users, appreciate the hard work and time OP puts into bringing us all these amazing games! So lets get this thread back on track.. Any new high scores out there??

Look Timmy Marsh is the Moderator for this forum. If he says its ok then its ok end of story.
1)This game is all over the internet , no problems as the developer Andreas knows about this game.
2)Also everybody knows about the iphone game that Andreas made. Its like angry birds , everyone knows who made that game.
3)I never ever said I originally made this game. All I say is I brought it here for everyone to enjoy.
So your one of the few people who are still waiting for developers to make iphone/ipod games for windows mobile6.1,6.5. Its never going to happen , we never gotten that type of support. XDA-developers was started because Micro-soft didnt give windows mobile proper support . I got sick and tired of not having games that I want on my phone , so now I make them. I share them here so other people can play too. ALL FREE! The reason I get upset is because people always complaining I stole someone works which is ridiculous.

I am not saying this is a rip off, or is stolen, or etc. But unless you acknowledge the source, you kind of give off that impression. That was my initial impression; and now I see that impression was wrong ONLY after we've had this argument. Which brings me to my next point;
The reason I get upset is because people always complaining I stole someone works which is ridiculous.

Maybe if you posted a link to the original work, people would stop getting that idea. Just acknowledge the author or source some way, as standard procedure. If you clearly mention right off the bat; "This is a clone of the game [x] for the [y]" then no one will think you're hiding something, or covering it up.
"I never ever said I originally made this game. All I say is I brought it here for everyone to enjoy."

While technically correct, this is misleading; if you have no problem admitting this is a clone, why not just say... this is a clone of [insert source here]? Don't be misleading, that arouses suspicion.
I never mis-lead anyone , how long have you been here? I have made Mario games, doodle jump, angry birds etc. Games everyone knows I didnt come up with myself. If you didnt know who made those big games by now I would be shocked!
Now the way you just carried on and keep going , Iam %100 sure you wanted to start a fight. The conversation is going no-where and what your saying right now is sounding real stupid. Your going to tell me people dont know who made Super Mario, doodle jump, angry birds, or tiny wings , thats a laugh.
Iam supposed to post a link to an iphone game that doesnt even run on windows mobile , are you serious? Thats the stupidest thing I heard yet , thanks for the laugh by the way. You said its legal to change ROMs and run Android on windows mobile shows me you dont even know what your talking about. Did you know Microsoft tried to shut down XDA because of ROM a long time ago? No you didnt. Did you know apple tried to sue when XDA had a iphone screen run on windows mobile? No you didnt. All you know is how to harrass me , hahahaha. Go make an original game post it here and show me how its done LOL.

I know of super mario, but I have never heard of doodle jump or angry birds. I happen to know of tiny wings by chance; don't assume that everyone knows about a game just because of popularity. And I think we can safely assume that the users here know an iOS app won't run on their wm device, but that isn't the purpose of posting a link; listing the source for any work is just a standard and respectable practice... Your seniority in this forum doesn't change that fact, nor does it have anything to do with this argument...
I'm not going to address the rest of your comment, but I will say this; just because a company whines about something doesn't make it illegal (they probably wish it was). Those were accusations, nothing more.
I am not looking for a fight, I merely continued because I thought you would listen to reason, but apparently we just cannot agree on this point... and since you don't seem to be able to carry out an argument without resorting to ad hominem, I'm ending my involvement here.

I agree with link68759 with the music, Andreas Illiger explicitly states that the Tiny Wings music "is not for use in other movies, games, tv shows, etc. and you should not earn any money with it or distribute it in any form."

So sad to what this forum has become. This used to be where everyone posted their work sharing or not, so others could benefit from it....closed or enclosed. A place to make our machines the best they can be, to the point where if you mentioned this name or that name or mention this mod or that mod you will get banned. Simply terrible!!!! Now if you read my posts and see I hardly say anything and ive been here for a while. I've gotten to the point that this site is not much fun anymore. Example.... If a bunch of people want to post there home screens on a dev page, let them post it. It's tribute to the dev and no harm is done. Plus others can learn by actually learn by seeing there home screens. I'm just trying to bring back the actualization why we are all here in the first place....to learn... To contribute... To benefit, and make our pieces of machinery the best they cab be.
So in all, this community needs to be best and a top notch better then the rest. Keep pushing mods away and we will become second to none. I got enough off my chest. Good night...... Good fight.
Love all....

I agree it's sad we have to watch what we say and can't share all of our work because of petty drama. But it is what it is. Kinda feels like the Apple/Google patent trolling. Just wish people would be mature and let better things improve our experience for everyone, but I know that's a utopia and won't happen. I also know there's more to it than that. I don't want to add fuel... But yes, I do wish that whole thing played out differently.
But I don't think home screen posts should flood a dev thread. It's annoying as it is having to sift through dozens of the same questions that are answered in the op. When I look at a rom or kernel or mod thread, I want to know the progress, the bugs, user experiences, and the direction of development. Not how people are laying out their widgets and apps. Not that so and so is drunk and wants to say what's up, although sometimes those can be entertaining. Not little chit chat of members catching up because they hadn't talked in a while. It's going to happen regardless of what I want... But I can dream. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting these things be prohibited... Just sharing my views on the matter.

Just don't contribute here, simple as that.
There are other places with a lot of people you already know.
What I love most is the fact that everyone wants to complain about rules, how much drama there is and how much fun they aren't having.
You want to know how much "fun" I've had in the past 8 months? No you don't because you don't really care.
Devs decide how much off topic to allow in their threads. If the dev wants the thread to be strictly development that's where it stands. We have share your home screen threads so you can show off your home screen. Not all developers want to see it.
Drama concerning users that aren't on this site. I personally tried to get everyone cooperating before all of the drama happened. We have rules, just like other sites have rules. This Site and that dev parted ways, and came to an agreement that his stuff was not to be used or linked here and his name was to be erased from the site and not to be mentioned. Because his work is not to be used here and we want no ties with him that makes his kernels warez.
Everything was fine for about a month, but I guess that was before source was released. There are other kernel devs out there but they won't post because the users in this forum bring so much trash into threads. I know at least 2 other people in this forum that are working on kernels, none of which have any threads for their work.
But does it matter? No. Because everyone is stuck on the second coming of a dev that won't/can't come back.

We can't control what Prl you flash. It's also not the greatest idea in general. The site has numerous carriers, if you choose to flash something that is not meant for your carrier that's up to you.
All carriers have things in place to stop people from tethering and using other prls. They can stop it if they want. If they hit us with a c&d we would block it all, however wifi tether apps are on the play store. Kernels are governed by a specific law the gpl, we require that is complied with. Technically you can say that rooting your phone shouldn't be allowed since the carriers don't want that either. Wrong battle to fight.

Just wanted to thank you for this explaination of why they are considered "warez" on XDA. It's not because they are actually "warez" or illegal as some seem unwilling to stop publically claiming, but rather because XDA and he have mutually decided that they are not for XDA. Altough I don't understand why if something is found elsewhere that works for some it cannot be discussed. I understand not linking, but discussing. Altough, I guess it just leads to flame wars and is best not talked about at all. Thanks pstevep!

Man...there is no LAW that says that rooting your phone or using wireless tether is against the law. GPL is based on copyright law so it is a law that has to be followed.
Rooting your phone and using wireless tether might be against your contract with your carrier but there is NO LAW that says you cannot do it.

That almost made a point.
Except.
It states that it's warez, which is slang (as notated in your definition by "informal"). And in this instance means not allowed on this site.
Really? You don't want to argue semantics with me, it's not worth it to either of us.
This site is fine. It's the users ruining it. Not reading rules, not abiding by them or arguing them in inappropriate ways (this thread for example) . I've been to plenty of sub forums in this site where things are fine.
I think everyone is expecting this to be picture perfect when it never will be. There will always be someone doing something they shouldn't and whether people do things they should or should not do in response to it determines how these forums are viewed.

I really hate to jump into this topic as I have been trying really hard to ignore it but it just keeps popping up. So here is my 2 cents.
XDA-Developers is a PRIVATELY OWNED Site. The rules they have or want to impose on people that use this site are up to them. When they make a decision to enforce a rule, good or bad, It stands.
From all my years of browsing forums, One thing stands out among all comunities.
That people think this little corner of the internet is a Democracy.
It is in fact not, It is more of an Autocracy.
To all you homeowners out there or people that can relate to owning property or personal space, How would you feel if someone marched onto your property and tried to tell you what to do, how to do it, and what rules you should have on YOUR property? That wouldn't fly im sure.
The government tells you what you can or cant do with your property, you make decisions about your property as long as its legal and the government tells you its OK.
Joe Crackhead walking by on the street has no right or ability to tell you what to do with any aspect of your property, nor force his opinion on you on what he "thinks" is the best way.
Bottom line is this is the house of XDA, and the owner says what goes.
So please, for the love of god just follow whatever rules they impose, no matter how stupid you may think they are, and go about your daily business. In all actuality you have absolutely no right to ***** and moan about anything the higher ups have to say about squat.
Let the rants and pissing and moaning stop. If you don't like what is going on take it to the source, feel free to contact the owner of the site or the admins directly with your issues. Hell, start a damn petition. But whatever you do just do it off of their private property that they allow you to use before they revoke that "right" you think you have.
IRL you cant even protest on private property, why does anyone think this is any different?
This isn't aimed at anyone or any group specific, Its just aimed at the general population that thinks this is some kind of public property owned by all.
Leave the MODS out of it as they are just following orders from people that tell them what to do. They are in a lose lose situation as if they don't do what they are told they catch **** from the owner/admins and if they do they catch **** from the community.
Do I think the MODS sometimes should handle things in a different way? YES
But guess what? They DON'T have to, and thats not up to me or you to even have an opinion about.
Believe me the people they are answering to are not the community. They explain things that happen out of courtesy.
Get it out of your heads that any of you have any "rights" on this or any other message board and
please, please, please
LET IT DIE
As for the warez argument, warez is software that is shared without permission.
Im not going to get into the "legal or illegal" argument. See my explanation on this website is Privately owned.
If the government says its not illegal great,
If XDA says its illegal then it is illegal on this board.
Government > XDA > You
that's the decision making process here on XDA, simplified of coarse
XDA says no sharing of that software
whats his name says no sharing of that software on XDA
They agree, why cant you?
This is the first and will be the last time you will hear from me about this topic, It is common sense that you all should know.
Wow somebody ban this guy
I don't say a whole lot on these forums, but I'm in them everyday. I've been on xda far longer than most that post in this, or any other thread. I have to say the flaming has gotten to epic proportions, and it was inevitable that the ban hammer was going to fall sooner or later. Xda used to be the "go-to" site for all devs to show their craft. The adoption rate of android has finally caught up with this place and the maturity has plummeted, thus creating a graveyard of devs in its wake. People complain about the mods in the same manner they complain about the police. Without the police, the "kids" would run this place even worse and drive all the talent away. Posting in here shouldn't be a e-pene measuring contest, it should be for the reason we are all here, to live on the cutting edge of software and squeeze everything we can out of our phones.
Boom goes the dynamite
Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but has anyone managed to extract the apk for the new Android version of Microsoft Office? They have as usual released it only in the US
Thanks in advance!
Anyone?
Is there really no interest for this? I understand that it also requires an Office 365 subscription, but I would have thought someone on the www would have deemed it worthy to extract.

Of course there's interest, but rather than bleat some of us search. Ever heard of google? It took me less than 5 minutes to locate, download and install the APK.
It works fine so google for "microsoft office android apk" and see what you can find
And the "douchebag of the year" award goes to...Bulbous! Let's all give him a big hand...
You think I didn't search? Did you see WHEN I made my first post? There was nothing available outside the Play Store on August 1st, even though it's pretty trivial for anyone living in a supported country to extract the apk.
Second of all, have you seen WHERE this apk is now available? Crappy sites that often mention that it's "cracked" or "full version" or some other such nonsense. How can I trust a site that could have inserted anything it wanted to in that apk?? Do you get ROMs from "The Dubai Emporium of Sheep Guts and Android" or do you come to XDA?
All over this site there are countless examples of people who asked for geographically restricted apps and got them, without all the crap you seem intent to give me. Also, as you can see I didn't post the second and third time until several days had passed in between, so any bleating is done strictly by you on your sheep farm, mofo.

You don't want me to post the link then?
After my OP I also found links on external sites, but none that seemed trustworthy...it would have been nice if a member of the community here would have extracted an apk for anyone who would have wanted it, as has been done many times in the past for other apps.
In any case, they did say they will expand it to 120+ countries in the future, so if no one steps up I'll just wait for "the future".

All this module does for now is restore the last seen time on your Tinder matches.
It currently works only with people you've matched with and not when you swipe.
Hopefully future versions will include more features.
Download
Through the Xposed repo.

Tested on Tinder versions 4.4.4, 4.5.2 and 4.5.5.
Tested on KitKat and Lollipop.
26/03/16
Released version 1.0.2 that now supports KitKat as well.
Would love to hear suggestions, comments, bugs and positive / negative feedback.
And if you'd like to, buy me a beer (or a bottle of Chandon )
I been looking for something like this
Any Screenshots or anything? Proof that it works? Tinder version required and such? It doesn't work for myself so would like more info.
Confused..
I'm utterly confused... What purpose does this mod have?.. To show what? Why would you want your matches to know your on 24/7 ... Isn't that counter productive

I assumed it restored it for you to see when your matches were last on. Not letting yyou matches see your "last seen" but you see when they were on.

Up to version 4.3.5 of Tinder, you could have seen the time when your matches were last online.
This feature was removed on version 4.4.1 and forward. What this mod does is simply bring it back.

It was tested on versions 4.4.4 and 4.5.2.
As I said in the top post, XDA won't let me link to the repo or post screenshots because I am a new user.
Just google TinderMods xposed and there is a screenshot on the repo website.
I tried this with 4.5.2. I can confirm it is working, although the format makes me do a double take. It's listed as 16/2/16...........instead of 2/16/16......and a 24hr time stamp.
In the US, usually we read dates as month/day/year, so if you are not used to reading the day/month/year, it'll take some getting used to. I've used Tinder since it first came out nearly 4 years ago, and have seen the app change quite a bit.
The OP can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the OP's purpose for the last online time stamp is to determine when the person was last online so....in theory you can tell if they are ignoring you after you send a message, b/c if you sent it, then they were online, they likely saw it and are possibly ignoring you.
This is the reason why I think Tinder took away this option was b/c of it allows ppl to check messages without the scrutiny of giving the perception of ignoring the person LOL. Tbh, it's not an issue based on my experience (as a guy), b/c:
1. If the person likes you, they typically respond very quickly. That has been my experience.
2. If they person does not respond, they either are never online or are not interested so you are wasting your time anyway.
I can't seem to get it to activate. I installed the module, rebooted, and still no dice. I even tried reinstalling 4.5.2 but nothing.

Yeah you're right, I'm from Israel and that's how we read the dates here.
I'll localize the date format and upload a new version soon.
And you are absolutely right, that's one reason why one would want to use this module.
Fact is that's an issue that bothered me and I looked for a way around it and simply decided to share it with you all.

Does Tinder function normally or do you encounter any issues with it?
Please be noticed, the timestamp is currently only shown on profiles of people you've matched with.

No errors/FC or anything. I have a few ongoing conversations with matches right now, and if I select there profile there isn't a date anywhere to be seen. I've even done another install of the module to no avail.

If they picked you they were online at some point. That doesn't make sense. I'd rather women just unmatch if it's that they don't want to talk. Online dating is either a cheap thrill or stressful depending on your personality.

Thanks for the mod. It is useful. As I said before I've seen the app change during the years. Before it used to also be much leaner, then the app seems to have progressively become more and more "bloaty"

Sure that is true. Again, Tinder has changed a lot since I first started using it. In the US, Tinder is FULL of bots. They are profiles which send automated messages. This really took off around late 2014.
From when it first came out until, I'd say late 2014, Tinder was great. The app was lean, less bloat, no bots, and girls who were on there were worthwhile. You also had unlimited swipes, they didn't charge. Now (today), the app is heavy although gotten better, girls are on there are usually a waste of time, there is a limit on swipes, etc.......Usually most girls are just wasting time with it.....

I don't understand why you are being so dismissive and negative towards the work the dev did. He made a module, and felt like sharing it.
As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go to the thread of all your Xposed modules, and I will..... Oh, wait. You haven't contributed any modules.

I'm using tinder version 4.5.2 but I can't get the date to show either. I'm not sure if there are regional differences on the app, but just to be sure I say I use this in Finland.
I works very well for me, very nice mod!

There is a new version out with better logs that should help me figure out how to solve the issues you are experiencing.
Please paste the logs relevant to this module in a CODE tag along with the version of Tinder you're using and I will examine them.
nadavrbn, can you add a donation link to the original post? I would love to support you work with a small financial contribution.
