3 Mobile users - UK ONLY - IMPORTANT - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I just got off the phone to 3 technical support.
They will not, repeat not, be releasing the new update OTA.
They will only provide you with a link to find it and update - which probably means it'll be a carrier rom + cruft
Rosie

I've rang 3 twice.
The first guy told me to go to the Market place and search for Android 2.1 and download it! This is their technical help line.
The second person told me to stay looking at their website each day but had no other suggestions and knew nothing about the Android 2.1 update.
oh well....Flash the generic UK

3uk are a bunch of idiots, they cant understand you most of the time!

I flashed the generic and its pretty good. Had some problems with applications - had to manually reinstall the lot but the improvement in battery life is amazing. Have noticed some touchscreen issues but other than that very good. Backing up user info is an absolute must.

Few questions.

I think a few of these questions are already answered but some may not.
i've come to the Samsung Galaxy S II from a blackberry ( previous was an X10i )
and need a bit of help with it and when / what to expect from it.
When can I expect to see a root for the device without loading a custom kernel etc ( I would rather not do anything to potentially brick the device as I will be using this for the next 2 years )
If I can get root on stock kernel will I be able to do overclocks like people are reporting for 1.5 GhZ or more?
How do I actually get a refund for things on the market that don't work, previously purchased games like Need for speed : Shift that just will not download and when I contact the provider they don't even reply to emails / feedback forms.
Can anyone recommend to me a good weather app that will show the widget for the next few days.
Using Sony Ericsson I knew they were terrible with updates for their devices, are samsung any better or atleast more frequent in their Updates? are their updates rushed / buggy?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I don't know if you still need the info, but I have some anwsers.
To root, just follow this quide:
Yes, you can, but the battery life is not that good, and in my case (No one else has this problem) it hangs randomly.
For that, you just need to talk to the devs.
I don't know if you still need that
The updates are slow, but 4.1 was awesome.
I'm pretty sure he got all the info he needed 2 years ago, around the time he created this thread.

[Q] To root or not to root - that is the question!

ok, here i am... in the android world, after many years of winmo - and i must say wow, i was missing a lot! i just bought a thunderbolt as a replacement for my htc touch pro2 (which was running stock, only after i broke my old one and didnt take the time to re do it again)
what i could do on my tp2 was run hotspot app PROVIDED by HTC (not sure why or how that slipped through big red's net) but it was free, no tethering/hotspot fee needed.
i like my TB (but not the bloatware) and am currently refusing all updates till i make my mind up on rooting. right now - kernel 2.6.32.21.gb05544a dated march 1, 2011 and the software number is 1.13.605.7. my guess is that since i bought it from amazonwireless, big red hasnt updated it, and it sat on the shelf at amazon for a bit. either way, the hotspot app still works for free.
my questions:
1. if i continue to refuse, can i assume that one day i will wake up updated or find my phone automatically updating without my permission?
2. if i root (before this big scary update happens) will my phone automatically go back to a stock rom, only with superuser access where i can remove bloatware manually and install a wifi hotspot app, or will i have to flash to a rom?
i am familiar with flashing windows mobile phones, flashed my past 2 devices to the newest software (had my tp2 before 6.5 was released for that phone, so flashed to 6 before big red officially released it). but it didnt need constant 'attention' once it was flashed. i used to fool around with sat boxes that did need constant attention and monitoring and waiting for charlies next emp, then scrambling to reflash. that was a pain.
3. will my rooted TB need constant attention or will i be able to tootle around without a care, only flashing when someone releases a rom that i might want to try out or some big release <gingerbread> is ready for rooted phones?
thanks for your time!
PS: I have read that people cant use netflix app on TB - i downloaded it, and it works fine for me. i am stuck in 3g land until next winter, but i would think that 4g would rock... just FYI in case anyone cares.
good questions. i'd like to see these answered too

Welcome to the world of Android! We hope you enjoy your stay ^__^. While I don't have a TBolt myself, I think any user opinion is good. Phone's auto updating is rare, like extremely rare, but I have seen it on some of the lesser model phones. I don't think you need to worry about it though. The free hotspot app however may be noticed and tagged as a tether as big red gets their chubby fingers around the few apps they are missing.
To root or not to root, that is the question.....or is it! The answer is up to you. If your comfortable with it than root it! All rooting will do is give you superuser ability, and the ability to flash custom roms/kernels/mods. If you want to keep the stock rom, than all you need to do is flash and nothing more. Rooting your phone doesn't auto flash some random rom. Roms are typically not built with an auto updater, so you only need to reflash a rom if you want to change roms or update to the newest version. I would say I flash at least an image a day on my Dinc. Once your rooted, regardless of the rom, I would suggest downloading some backup software (Titanium Backup or it's like for TBolt) and of course a tethering app, whether you want wired or wireless is up to you. Once you root, you lose your connection to big red's update servers and so you never have to worry about an update that returns you to stock like you do with i<anything's>.
Happy flashing!

Tbolt just got netflix last week for stock users.
Even if you are not going to flash a custom ROM right now, I would root.
Reason being that rooting requires you to flash old firmware so your phone gets wiped. Better to do it now, then that way you can use apps like Titanium backup.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there are OTA's that can't be rooted.
What rooting your phone will do is install a new stock ROM which means it will wipe your whole phone. From there you can flash up to anything you want. Don't do rooting the lazy way. Use the ADB process and do it right. If you have a problem along the way, you'll be very glad you did it that way because you'd end up getting into ADB to fix any problem anyhow. Plus, jcase and other at andirc.net are very helpful.
If you root you will end up with whatever ROM is used during the root process. If you go to the development threads and to the stickied rooting instructions it will show you what RUU is used for the rooting process.
If you havent updated your phone you might even find that the ROM you get after rooting might be a newer version of the one you are using. If you want to stick with that ROM you can and just debloat it yourself or find another debloated ROM out there.
Once rooted you can use it similar to how you used your stock phone with no extra maintenance steps needed. If you start flashing nightlies or alpha/beta ROMs then you will start needing to monitor your phone for behavioral problems more.
There are no OTA's that cant be rooted. When an OTA comes out and you are rooted you should wait on flashing it as you would loose root if you did but in just a few days the dev's will create a rooted version to flash. Those OTA's will then be started to be used as the base for new ROMs.
Root! Root! Root!
As far as requiring tinkering as has been mentioned just rooting alone won't change a whole lot for your regular experience. The fun comes in trying out new ROMs. Some of the ROMs out there are very stable and once installed shouldn't need a whole lot of tinkering either (unless you get the FLASH habit that so many seem to develop and decide to flash a new one every day *wink*).
I rooted and installed Thundersense 1.5 onto mine, it's pretty nice. While I am running into some problems with bluetooth audio, having root capability means I can actually tinker with the phone's settings to try to fix issues instead of waiting forever for Verizon/HTC to push out another update that may or may not resolve whatever issue I have.
Not rooting is like driving around in a sports car with a parachute tied to the back.
Just do it.
When you root following Jcases method in the dev section you end up with a bone stock 1.13.605.7 with root. You might still get prompted for updates if you stay on the stock build but DO NOT ACCEPT if rooted. It will just cause problems and you might lose root or worse. I havent heard of Thunderbolts updating themselves but I have heard of Evos, I belive, that did. (according to users posts) So you never know but I belive something to do with Clockwork Mod Recovery(A custom recovery for android that you install after rooting.) will cause the update to fail anyway. As I understand it right now all OTAs can be rooted BUT the Gingerbread update will apparently close all known exploits to get root when it is released. There will always be rooted versions of the stock OTAs posted in the dev section you can flash if you want the newest updates and to be rooted. Of course there are lots of custom ROMs for the Thunderbolt to try out that are fast and stable. So I say root. It takes some reading and learning if you are new to it but its will worth it.

rooted and reloaded software
Thanks all for your advice! I successfully rooted my TB and it only took a few minutes to reload my apps and get it into working order. netflix is jumpy now, but could be the connection - going to mess with that some. not a big loss anyway - more of a 'wow, thats cool' than useful.
appbrain and HTC Sync with outlook contacts worked great for quick 'restore'
another question though - i am trying to remove the bloat and things like vcast and vznav will not let me uninstall. what is the best way to do this? i know i am rooted - barnicle works and has superuser access.
also, any good cooked sense roms that someone can recommend? not looking for one that constantly needs attention, just some cool things like cpu under/over clocking ability, and if SOMEONE would get a ford sync app that i could use voice command to text over sync - that would rock too!
Synergy ROM is my ROM of choice. It's based on the newest GB leak for the Tbolt, and has Sense 2.1 with Sense 3.0 features, so I find it less laggy than full on Sense 3.0 ROMs, and Ziggy's kernel (included in the ROM) works great with no SetCPU needed. It's worth a try. You can find a link to the download in my sig.
Happy flashing!
that's awesome. i was think this very thing. I'm sold, I'm rooting.

Thanks, I would probably try this ROM - Is there anything i would need to change on my stock everything, no updates, no frills TB - like, will i have to update the radio before flashing?
I must say, i love the synergy rom! it seems fast and really rocks! I did have to update my stock base version radio MR1 to MR2.5 so i had service. flashing went great. many kudos to each and every post i read with regard to rooting, flashing, radios and roms!!! yes, i am a lurker, but thanks all around!

Glad everything worked out and that you are enjoying Synergy. Don't be afraid to try other ROMs though. I've flashed almost every rom out there and decided to keep synergy.

Too many horror stories for me to root just yet. However I get multiple update demands from verizon every day which is driving me crazy, and today was the first time it actually tried to update itself without permission. I just happened to open my phone at work and saw it trying to download the update on its own. There was no way to cancel it either, I had to reboot the phone immediately to make it stop. It has yet to reappear, but we'll see what happens.
Rooting isn't worth it. Most of the ROM's out now are just plain awful (some people have no taste).
What are these horror stories you speak of?? I haven't heard of one person brick their phone rooting and that's the only horror story I can think of involving rooting. It's actually a pretty easy process if you just read up on what you are doing first.
As for the claim all the ROMs suck...well everyone if entitled to their opinion but there are Froyo sense and de-sensed ROMs, Gingerbread sense and de-sensed ROMs, and AOSP ROMs. You can have sense 2.1, 3.0, or no sense. Lots of themes to choose from if you want them. I don't see how that list is any different from any other HTC phone. That is not even including the fact that a lot of them greatly improve performance and batery life.

[Project Cheesecake] Need YOUR help!

Background:
Yes it's true, Motorola has every OTA, every non-accepted OTA, and every non-release OTA and sbf sitting on a sever. Special Motorola employees get access to these, even on their phones through the access of the blur cloud. There are 19 servers.
The Goal:
Project Cheesecake was a success on finding a few dev builds for the Defy, Atrix, and Photon which lead to an unlocked bootloader on these devices. There is bound to be something on ONE of these servers, and eventually we'll strike gold and find an unlock. Just takes checking everyday.
How you can help:
Check the servers every change you get! Every phone is a little different, plus keep in mind these are ftp servers, so you might get lucky when you do your scan and you might catch something someone else didn't see before; or you might find something that was uploaded, and then later deleted. Wifi is recommended (but not required) when scanning the servers.
Prerequisites:
You need to use Root Explorer or another file manager with root permissions, because when you find an update, it's going to put it in /cache and you need to copy it from there to the sd card.
Please be on stock 2.3.5 (1.3.412) or 2.3.4 OTA. If you have deleted stuff or are running a custom rom or something, you will need to sbf for this to work.
Getting Started:
1)You need to be on stock latest OTA!!
2) WIPE DATA AND CACHE!!!!

Now an app does it all for you. Imagine that.
1. Okay, so, download THIS APP RIGHT HERE. Edit: Updated link ~ 0vermind
2. Install the app on your phone.
3. Open the app. Click the first button.
4. Reboot.
5. Open app, click second button. Select a server. QA And Staging servers seem most common for updates, but we need to check them all. The default is in Production -> master-blur.whatever.com if you need to get back to it.
6. now click third button in app to check for update. click setup (the moto account thing is bs). Now if it gives you a wifi error, that means the server is down that you chose. If the server is up it will check for an update.
7. If that didn't work, select a new server with button 2, and then check again with button 3.
8. Any comments in this post about the ghettoness or difficulty of scrolling in my app will result in replies including but not limited to A) Slander, B) flaming, and C) death. Try to keep the thread pretty on topic to cheesecake method and other info. I know my app can be refined, jcase has been giving me some tips on streamlining my programming and su permission reduction, but it does good stuff, don't worry. It even remounts system as RO when it uses it.

The app does Scroll! It's just a bit tricky! -- I have found that if I longpress an item while scrolling up, it works better.

Update Found
Heyo,
I found one update using Froyo in server 'master-qa3.blurdev.com'. The update seems to be weird. The update on the screen was reported to be '1.3.231.en.us' but the update zip was labeled '1.2.148.en.us' which is the same name as the leaked GB OTA update zip. Nonetheless, this is an interesting development.
Please PM me for the file. I don't want people who don't know what they are doing to abuse it.
I'll continue searching through the server list for any others.

Just saw this post and decided to pop in. Great job starting a Cheesecake for your phone =) Hopefully yes, people will be sending me more files to check. I have made a list of files that I've already checked for Bootloader unlock over at the Pudding thread (shameless plug).
Unfortunately, I didn't find anything. =(
The simpons didn't even register.
Maybe next time...
Yeah. I found two and I gave both of those to the2dcour. There doesn't seem to be a bootloader unlock in both files.
The two I found is when you are in Froyo and in these servers:
master-qa3.blurdev.com - 1.3.231.en.us
master-sdc1.svcmot.com - 1.3.232.en.us
master-blur.svcmot.com - 1.3.232.en.us
After taking a nap and returning the my phone back to normal, it seems like 1.3.232.en.us is the same as the last OTA version/the version that P3droid rooted. It doesn't seem to be a special "Dev" version with that special pudding.
Yeah the simpsons servers and both bqa ones didn't allow you to register.
If anyone still wants to take a look, let me know. You can get the mediafire links from me if you PM me.
My thought so far is that when the Atrix leak was found, Moto was at least thinking about unlocking the bootloader for the Atrix and might have been experimenting with the bootloader when the leak was made. I dunno if we are going to catch a bootloader unlock for the DX2 until Moto makes a serious consideration for unlocking the DX2 with their devs.
With that said, I think this was very successful from an execution standpoint and we need to keep up with regularly checking the servers for update files. I say we should pick random times in checking (not just on a Sat. Morning) and vary it up between location (east coast v. west coast) and Froyo/GB base update.
My only thing is that it took me nearly 5 hours to search through all of the servers after all of the wiping cache and going through Froyo's slow factory reset screens so I hope we can really get a few people dedicated for one or two hours and divide it up.

I wonder what the difference is between 231 and 232. And yeah definitely, as far as I know Moto did promise they would be unlocking all their phones, or at least the ones that came out this year..

My only thing is that it took me nearly 5 hours to search through all of the servers after all of the wiping cache and going through Froyo's slow factory reset screens so I hope we can really get a few people dedicated for one or two hours and divide it up.

It's really not that hard. Just follow the instructions in the OP. We would love your help! This project isn't just a one time thing, it's a thing that requires multiple scans every no or then.
The servers that will provide the most luck are the QAs, master-blur, the test server, and the first one.
So I would be doing all this from my phone correct? Don't need a computer just a wifi connect. I want to help but I am on eclipse Rom. It says I need to be stock? Would it work if I was prerooted gb?
Thinkin of making a nandroid of where in at now and when my computer gets going again soon I will be able to sbf back and try some of this.
You have to be on pre rooted gb. When I get home I will package a test build to flash from anything to the required build will everything included. For the sake of progress!

Nice work getting stuff like this organized guys. Im hoping it will be only a matter of time now that google has taken over Motorola. I would think they would want to unleash the moto hardware but the agreements with vzw might be in the way. Hopefully they will "allow" the unlock to slip through the cracks if that's the case.

Here is some cool info I found. When you are connected to one of the dev clouds:
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go To Motorola Services
It will list out a bunch of info regarding the server. Like build date, Blur Version, Server Version, Master Cloud. ect...

Company takeovers aren't an instant thing. Even if Google buying up motorola gets bloaders unlocked, we will most likely be too late to the party because once this all goes down, we will be old news.

Thinking of trying this out between iterations of Eclipse. Gotta get back to stock GB
Here is another build for the X2. http://www.multiupload.com/G5IQI9PL8D. I was thinking of going on this build to search for other builds.

What's that? The same sbf as 2.3.3 or is this download link something different that you found?
The sbf is older than the stock froyo build. I thought i was able to unlock the bootloader with this build but its not even in the sbf file.
Anyway its another way for us to get more test builds now that we have 3 sbf's to choose from.

The below is a method brunes came up with:
brunes_007 said:
Having bought one of these from China, and having very little to noting written on this device so far, I had to figure a bunch of this out myself... so I thought I should share my findings with the community.
If you order one of these from China, you will find that it does not have the Google apps and utilities on it. So to get them on, first you will have to root it.
The first method I tried was via the recovery mode, which I determined you access by holding volume up + power until it reboots into it. However, you will find unfortunately that the recovery mode on this device is locked and it will only flash signed updates, so that method is out.
I tried a bunch more methods and exploits until I finally found one that worked - that was this Root_with_restore method on XDA. Follow the instructions in this thread and you will have rooted your device.
Now that my device was rooted, the next problem was how to install the Google apps. I downloaded the latest ICS apps from goo.im - but remember, you can not flash these. I tried installing ROM manager from the market and using that to flash CWM recovery, but that didn't work. What DID work, and what I ended up doing, was simply unzipping the gapps.zip onto my MIcro SD card, then (as root on the phone), copying the entire contents of the "system" folder from that SD card over the /system directory on the phone. After I did this, and rebooted, I now had all of the Google apps working!
I was able to add my account and install all needed apps from the market to make this phone really shine.
My next goal is to figure out how to get CWM working on this phone. I am doing a bunch of reading on the topic and might have something to report later this week.

Hi Guys,
Can anyone please point me in the right direction on steps to root and install the Google applications (Play Store, Google Contact Sync, etc.) on my Huawei U9510e (Ascend D1 Quad XL)?
I just had a family friend bring me one over from China today and obviously it didn't come with any of the Google applications. I was able to find the Gmail apk online along with the GoogleLoginService and the GoogleServicesFramework apk. Everything installed fine, but I am still unable to sync contacts over from Gmail, and occasionally I will get an error saying that GoogleServicesFramework has crashed.
Any insight pointing me to the right direction is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey brunes, amazing work, I've also found a easier way to root it and flash on google applications with simple UI for newbies like me, I will update my original post to put that in, and put yours in too if you don't mind?
And for sure, I think as soon as this phone receives a global launch it will be pretty popular too, seeing how it's probably the only quadcore pentaband umts phone available on the market right now
Hi!

No problem, I'll do the translation and post it up by tonight
But just remember that it's still built on a beta rom release from EMUI so it may be unstable, even though I haven't experienced anything (ie. the phone auto restarting), I can't guarantee for you guys :S
Amazing phone for the price
I just got mine 2 hours ago. My friends are all HTC fanboy so they told me to stay away from Huawei but I was just thinking to try it out and then return it but I think i am gonna keep it and sell my GNex. It is quite an amazing pone for such a little price. although the phone might look bit thick but the thickest part of GNex is actually slightly thicker than the D1. I just wish there are more dev support.
I find the camera app that came with it really annoying since you cant turn the sound off... also if it had 2Gb of ram this would be the perfect phone for me!
Anyways anyone else have any news on update to 4.1.2? Or is there other site/ forum with more support?

Beta is fine. Flashed my previous Samsung Captivate numerous times (various Cyanogenmod releases), until settling at SlimBean. Android = always a work in progress.
Regarding the D1, anyone notice slight choppiness when scrolling through the app drawer and such? I'm using Holo Launcher (which I used on the Captivate).
I find that changing the power saving setting to High Performance seems to have mitigated this somewhat. I suspect it might be a small issue with how the stock governor is handling transitions in CPU speed.

For sure about 2GB ram, and support is coming, supposedly Huawei will fully unlock the bootloader by late next week.
I get all my information from bbs dot anzhi dot com, it's a Chinese forum and that is where I found all of my information from. You'll probably have to wait a while longer for the office update to Jelly Bean from Huawei's EmotionUI, but I will be posting the guide on how to flash into their beta release later tonight.

Haha that's true.
I noticed it when I just open the app drawer, I'm using Holo Launcher HD, and it'll be smooth out after opening it for a second or so. I haven't noticed this problem when I was using the ADW or stock Launcher though, so the probably poor ram management from Holo.

Testing Apex Launcher (my go-to launcher before) now. Seems smoother!
I Tested with NOVA launcher PRIME and I say the transition is pretty fast but not smooth. (tested it on performance mode) But i gotta say the 3D unlock screen works perfectly smooth. Do you guys think it might be the problem with 4.0.4 ICS and not the device? My GNex runs on 4.1.2 + some performance tweak and it looks fine.

I had a feeling that it was because of the HOLO launcher too bad because HOLO launcher gives the most "Stock" feeling

Double post, need to accumulate a couple more posts so I can start posting links, but I have started to draft the instructions
I'm not sure, because the 3D Home was laggy to me compared to the 2D Home, and I didn't try NOVA, so I couldn't comment, but isn't it similar to APEX and ADW? If it is, then it should be pretty snappy :S
Edit: Tutorial is up!
Indeed it is snappy but not as buttery smooth as 4.1 I feel.
Here is a good review androidauthority
Thanks for your tutorial!
Hey I'm just wondering if anyone got a case for this phone and can you please give a short review of it. I m looking for a case that replace the back cover but wraps around to the front. I had a case like that for my atrix 4G back. I just don't want to make it any chunkier. But if you think it feels fine then I might consider putting on a case. Thanks

I'm using this case right now. I love the feeling of the back, it's really similar to the original backing of the phone's battery cover, and it's not too bulky. I'll get a couple of pictures of it tonight so you can get a sense how much wider it is compared to holding the phone without a case
Newbie Hiere
Hi Sir/s,
I recently bought a Huawei U9510e phone from China and i came upon your posts re the "rooting".
I already rooted my phone (thanks a lot to you!), but now my problem is how to install the google play.
I saw one update from Huawei but it is in ZIP file. Here are my questions:
1. How will i install the update to my phone? Do i need to download it from a PC first then install it in the phone or do i need to download in directly to the phone?
2. How to deal with those ZIP files and where to save them to make them work? For example, the attachment "huawei_usb.zip". I downloaded it but i didn't know whats next after that. How can i integrate it in my phone? Or if its a driver, how can i integrate it with my PC?
Kindly help by providing step by step procedures re my question since im still new at these things.
I apologize for the stupid questions but i don't really have any idea about those. Hope you can help me.
Thanks,
Androidneophyte

Why install the B148 update?

Is there any real compelling reason to install the B148 update? The camera already seems fine to me without the update. It's operating smoothly and I get great battery life. Why do it?

If there is another update that isn't a major one (KK? fingers crossed) then it might require being updated to B148 first. Just a guess. It is a stretch to think we'll get another update to this phone though but we can't rule it out now that Huawei has come through with this minor update. It might be that since they mentioned a 4.4 KK update is coming when the phone came out that this update we just got would be a test run for the whole process. That's thinking optimistically. Realistically, I have no idea but would be happy if we continued to get updates (any at all) on our HAM2's.
Low light photography . Usually when you take a pic in low light it tends to darken the background too much . This update helps in that department . Plus , these updates provide an overall better stability to the system , the "misc. fixes" (No detailed description) they put at the end of the description should not be overlooked . They test the device thoroughly at their office and made the small needed changes . Even though you might not think it's a lot . Always better to stay updated . If it wasn't necessary nor improved the experience they would not have pushed the update out at all . My two cents . Update !
Well I was going to put in my 2 cents but you two said it all. If you made it all the way to the XDA website and was able to register and post something onto form your more then capable of upgrading to the new SYSTEM UPDATE. Plenty of people went ahead of you already and another thread was created for that. Everyone is having success with the B418 update.
The camera was rubbish in low light, and now it runs much smoother. Not iPhone or Android flagship smooth, but good enough.
And again, everyone else said pretty much all there is to say!

Why upgrade from any software? What was wrong with Android 4.1? it runs everything. The manufacturer of the phone put in the money to update and push out the update for a reason. Not spyware. My phone has the update and i just hit the 48 hour mark and I still have 18%
Is B148 really an "upgrade"? Have any impactful improvements been noted?
If I hadn't rooted my phone I would install the update. But considering the lengthy process due to my root, I'm going to wait for the KitKat update.

Pretty much what I'm thinking, too.
It's not that bad, plus you gain a lot of experience during the process!
I can't say I see any differences but I know I am up to date.
Damn right u get a lot of experience, I had never rooted a phone; I always thought it was too confusing and was afraid of bricking but now I'm rooted and running some modules couldn't be any happier

Update
I know I can't prove it but I just want it to be posted that before when I was on System Software B126 MightyText did not work when the screen was off. Even when I had it on protected apps and wifi on when the screen is off while charging. I had to keep my screen awake while I was using the app. Now after the update B148 I no longer have to do that. I was also having some problems with dropbox syncing when my phone is off and that is also fixed. So the "other fixes" in the system update. The stuff that they didn't mention is the reason why you should update. Actually since I have had the update my phone has been running very smooth. Everything just works when you click it.. Weirddd....
