hey guys, just to tell anyone that still hasn't unbraded (like me) that the 2.1 update for e10a is out, just use SEUS. (at least it is out for CLARO BR, which is my model)
BTW - update erases everything, so backup your apps and settings! (the BACKUP/RESTORE app by SE does NOT backup apps! yeah, i fell for that =( )

I have an NTT Docomo SO-01B
I used Binary's method "X10Flash 2.1 final & 2.1 Firmware." You can find it on the X10 Development board.
Everything worked fine. It also includes the Japanese keyboard (which I prefer so much more over Simeji)!
You will lose access to the Mixi-supporting Timescape (no problem if you have no Mixi account). You also will lose access to the Docomo shop (in my opinion, again no problem).
After you finish, you can run Titanium Backup to remove the stuff you probably won't need (Chinese keyboard, Danish keyboard, a few localized apps, etc.).

I also have docomo xpeia x10 R1EA029. I am outside japan.I want to upgarde to 2.1 and debrand it as well. Could u please clarify which version to use global or nordic. Please help me..

I used the nordic one - (same as benjn)
imo it's worth getting the update for the battery life alone.

Thanks for the info. I gave up checking Docomo & Sony Ericsson's sites and figured someone would post the dates here. I'm just going to wait a few more days then myself.

I have 2.1, using nordic build.prop method, and now the 2.1 generic UK update has been released so is it possible to replace the nordic build.prop with a generic 1.6/2.1 build.prop so it updates my phone to the UK's firmware,

Yeah, because if you check in the build.prop, it's the same "version fs" : World 1-8 but not the same product name : E10i_1236-9436 for my 1.6 ROM and E10i_1238-0549 for 2.1

First, you should check your old 1.6 and new 2.1 build.prop and compare the ro.semc.version.fs value (for me it's world-1-8)
If it's not the same, then replace your actual (2.1 nordic) build.prop by your 1.6 india. Then restore with SEUS

In my case, both says WORLD-1-2-5, I have upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 using a Brasilian build.prop, now in Argentina 2.1 has been released, last night I tried to change the firmware using the OLD build.prop and it doesn't work. So I GUESS i need a updated argentinian's 2.1 build prop... again I GUESS.
What you guys can try is -
Restore your original 1.6 build.prop, (Or just change product.name, all three instances) save it and shutdown the phone (remember do not switch it on, you will stuck on SE logo forever)
Go to Sony ericsson>update service>db>some_number>blob_fs folder and delete all the files (or cut-paste them somewhere else)
Connect your phone to update service and force repair.. You will hopefully get back to your original version.
I restored my phone to original version through this method... Hopefully it will work for you too..

I bought an X10 Mini about a month ago (Unlocked Latin American) and I've falshed it 2 times through SEUS, I was checking the back of my phone and it says SI 1237-3271 (from what I've gathered this is the General Latin American CDF), however I opened my default-capability.xml not only does it say that my model is and E10i (and it can't be since it's Latin American and I have a 3G connection in Colombia) but it also says that the phone's CDF is 1238-5790.
Does anyone know if this might be a problem when I try to update to 2.1 or any other kind of problem at all?

if you are on your oficial firmware or the firmware what you wabt to stay... try doing a repair with PC companion, i downgrade from 2.1 nordic or whatever to the 1.6 nordic or whatever.... then i change my build.prop to the orginal one from my claro carrier, then do a repair, so i was on the original firmware claro again but Not 3G/UTSM band support, i repair it again and the problems gone
If your build prop refers to 1238-5790 it should be good for updates to 2.1. That is a E10a code.
Thanks for your answers, I realized that both CDFs are correct, the problem is that no update has been release for any E10a that I know of.

Gingerbread is great, but that camera issue SUX. Froyo is awesome, but I had a lot of force close apps all the time! So I want to install newer firmware possible and do some hacks, like undervolt.
Mine is X10 Mini E10a debranded using Brazil´s 1237-9293 CDA.

Way ahead, in trying to find any off this tweaks but, no luck. I'll have my new Xperia Mini St15a in a few days so i would like some imput now to begin to mess whit this great smarphone...
1) Latest SE update for Latin America (4.0.1.a.0.283 maybe?)
This phone hasn't arrived to my country, so i wont be able to update vi PC companion or SEUS.
2) After installing the latest firware... Rooting and installation off busybox to install Titanium Backup, and then..
