Hi guys, I installed bionix nextgen v2 some days ago, I wanted to do a quadrant and it throws me "internal error during benchmark execution" then I press Close and the program remains there static on CPU 10/12 and the only way to close it is to go to task manager and do it..
any help? I tried on my friends vibrant with nextgen and it happens too, I don't know if it is due to bionix or just coincidence, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and tried using different than stock kernel, I wanted to try BALI anyways so I did it and don't think I am uninstalling it, it seems to really give better battery life and I always use kb1, it seems to work the best for me..
thanks!
the best thing you could do is just un-install quadrant from your phone. Its just a number. Sure it makes you feel good to say I scored XXXX in quadrent. It doesnt really matter what any kind of tests say. If your happy with your phone then thats all that matters.
My X10 on stock ROM had gotten so slow, that I had to put someone on hold for 2 minutes just to retrieve a contact while in a call.
it was stock 2.1 with Jit, the Linkpack score was close to 32 after JIT(earlier it was around 5.5) but the phone kept getting slower by the day, and I would get the occasional restart(1 a day)
I removed all the bloatware, tried setCPU, taskkillers etc etc, nothing helped.
I was pinning my hopes on GB, but i couldnt wait till august so I went ahead and installed .67, 2.1.B.01 and zKernel 2.6.29 for .67. that helped, but only for a while.
I have just now removed some more apps(GO contacts, Fring, some more) that I really liked.
The phone restarts more frequently now(3 times in 2 days), it just went in a boot loop and recovered by itself.
So now I begin to test all the ROMs out there...thinking of starting with MIUI. any suggestions??
Should i start with 2.3 or 2.2 stay on 2.1?
Just try repairing using seus or pc companion.
this will put your phone to "Out of the box" condition.
If you want more speed with a stable rom, try wolfs v007.1 rom.
Its very fast (I hit 37.9 on linpack) and stable.

I've been using wolf's rom as my main for months, and i'm pretty happy.
Using stock 2.1 back then, it suddenly started to lag horribly, i'm not sure but removing Beautiful Widgets seemed to solve the problem.
Woke up this morning to find the WiFi had stopped working....whats even more odd is that somehow i am back on the stock kernel!?!
The phone did go into a boot loop yesterday but i set it aside and it recovered on its own.
ill start with the custom ROMs then
went back to stock ROM via SEUS with Arc launcher (
I am using EWJet ROM, it's 2.1 but it's feeling much better than that. If you are game enough, root your phone and try it here:

i wasn't overclocking too high or doing anything weird whatsoever. out from no where my phone froze, so i did three button method to get it to reboot, and then it got stuck on the SAMSUNG screen. after battery pull, nothing. What do i need to do to fix this?
[EDIT] nvm for now. i odin'd the cmw recovery and it's working for now.

Go here and follow the directions to a tee..all the links you will need are in the first post..it may be overkill but if your phone truly is borked this will get it working but back to stock and you will have to reinstall your rom again.
my phone freezes when I overclock too much and I just pull the batt instead of three finger booting but I have never had a problem with it not booting after a freeze..that's how I find out how much overclock I can handle!
I keep clocking higher and higher and running
Quadrant, using the camera and a few other things to really load the cpu and I do this until it freezes
Then I turn it down one setting and retry to load the cpu to get it to freeze until it stops.
Anyways the link below may be overkill but it will get your phone back and, if you try to over clock again and it freezes you should be able to just pull the batt and re insert..good luck! I hope you get your phone back.

Thank you! I ended up doing just that and it did what I needed it to do!

I had a strange problem. I just happened to open preware just to poke around today a few minutes ago and saw the phantom kernel and got excited and uninstalled my other kernel and rebooted to install this one. All went well for the first install. then as i was browsing preware it refreshed and i saw there was a kernel update, so i hit update. after it rebooted, i cant seem to enable or disable wifi. if i uninstall the kernel its fine, but if i reinstall it, the same problem comes back its really weird. any ideas?
I am having the exact same issue. I took the same path as well upgrading F4. Hopefully WI comes out with another update to fix this.
A reboot allows you to re-enabled wifi, but this is a poor work around.
F15C will do until the bug is fixed.
That is why you wait until it goes out of beta.

What's the fun in that? Anywho, sucks that the kernel doesn't dig your wifi. Been running it all day at 1.8 rather stably, with battery actually doing fairly well.

I think you're on the wrong forum there dude. It says developers in the url - beta is where we live.
I hadn't noticed the WiFi oddity but tried it and sure enough. The prior F15 kernels had WiFi problems for me so I stopped using them. Seems that unixpsycho doesn't think much of people using WiFi.
Did you guys try the 1.8+ GHz speeds? My pad crashed at that speed - had to learn how to reboot using the hard buttons lol.
I have had mine lose WiFi 2x already and was unable to turn it back on w/o reboot
there'a an update 3.0.2-46. Did that helped?
My touchpad is completely stable using F4 at 1.8
Browsermark for me has resulted in scores around 38k with conservative governor, 54k with ondemand, and 74k with performance.
Battery drain seems to be only slightly worse than on F15c despite having both cores running at all times.
I tried the F4 Phantom recently and while it seemed promising at first, the second CPU always showed as N/A after I would wake it from sleep. I've tried uninstalling, going back to default settings, and reinstalling F4 and had these same results. I'm running warthog now and I don't experience the 'N/A' anymore and running stable so far.
Anyone else get the 'N/A' using the latest F4 Kernel (3.0.2-46)? Btw, I've been using it at 1.7Ghz.
I gave F4 a try. Also got wifi problem after a few hrs. Going back to warthog.
I don't have any problem with it. My WIFI works fine.
I upgraded from f15 this evening. Its noticeably faster on f4 with both cores running. Govnah suggests the battery is doing fine but I've lost about 5% in the last 30mins just browsing XDA... Doesn't sound quite right?
Wireless has been absolutely fine too.
edit: hour and a half later and govnah is showing 2nd core as N/A. Reinstalled but getting the same thing. Tablet seems just as fast though which is odd.
I have the same problem with F4 with all the profiles I saved, the second core says N/A. It did show the second core running when I installed it last night. I tried the 1.8, seems faster, but rebooted everytime when while loading sims social on facebook lol.
Edit: Weird thing, I did a device restart, and now the second core is showing. However, the device start didn't work this morning.
Same here. After about 30mins, my 2nd core shows as N/A. I do agree it does seem to keep its speed. Maybe its something with govnah?
I highly doubt it has anything to do with govnah. It is the kernel causing the issue. Have been running the earthly kernel and have had no issues at 1.7.
after latest update I have had NO problems
Lately I have been observing lags/freeze-ups after just 1 day of use on my stock 351 streak!
(yeah- I do have tonnes of apps - but still!)
I mean I am observing the screen tilt ( after physical rotation ) is also sloww!
Only link I could find, that was- my restart interval was like 3 days or so.
I am restarting it once in 2 days now ( manually).
But, still - the lags/freeze-ups are getting more frequent!
I have case for the Streak- so its very annoying to open it all the time to pull out battery!
So- I have factory reset it now.
Will now check the performance. But- I am sure getting a feeling its getting slower
thought of checking here- whats the restart interval?
and
Are freeze-ups common? -- ( no much crashes though) just- freeze-ups.
Thanks,
Sony.
I never ran a stock rom long enough to find out. If you want to stick with Froyo, since it sounds like you want stability, go with either my Streakin' 354, or Simple Streak. I wents days, maybe even a week, without a restart and when I did it was because of theming or something that required me going into streakmod.
If you want to stick with stock, then you may just have to resign yourself to manually restarting once a day. I used to have a profile set up in Tasker to do just that, before I found a stable rom that I liked.
Odd. Other than a brief switch to StreakDroid 2.4.4, I've run stock ROMs and have had only one occasion where it was necessary to forcibly shut down and reboot the Streak.
For the most part I only reboot mine every once in a blue moon. Like Morph, I have to reboot for a new theme or boot animation. But I run my streak with minimal apps loaded besides stock ones from Rom. (Total including stock apps 102) Mine doesn't lag after a few days.
Each phone and User is different. Sounds like a cliche' but ask 100 Streakers, and you might get 100 different answers.
Once a week
I'm stock, rooted, 2.2.2
I reboot once a week, regardless of if it isn't causing a problem.
Sunday before bed, I just pop the back cover, take out the battery
and reboot it.
I haven't had any lock up's or anything, but I'm not into playing streaming
music/videos/games.
I use it mainly as a phone & for work. 20-25 emails per day, 5-10 text messages,
viewing PDF's, web pages etc.
I'm currently running StreakDroid 2.4.4 and have gotten up to 60+ hours of uptime. Even then I only needed to reboot cause I was tweakin' the thing.
I've found my stability MUCH better after installing SetCPU (245min, 998maz, ondemand) and autokiller (all advanced tweaks enabled with aggressive profile activated at bootup)
but like people have said, you have to play with settings, cpu governors... to get your Streak stable. They're all different. I'm currently on my fourth. The one I'm on now is rock solid but the one before was a MESS. It could NOT handle overclocking and constantly had wifi/sleep of death problems.
Just like a baby... keep trying things til something works!
Up until the latest Gingerbread ROMs I've always found stock to be the most stable and had it running for upwards of 2 weeks without reboot. I've since found the new GB ROMs to be super stable but with tweaking and running out of battery i've had no longer than a week of late. I've got abut 200 apps installed
I reboot mine all the time. Not necessarily because of any problem, just to freshen it up I guess. I have a widget on my home screen, and if I'm doing something CPU intensive, when I'm done I'll just hit the button and stick it back in my pocket. When I pull it out- fresh Streak!
Why not...

I flashed 2.3 straight away and I have never had a lockup....
I didn't have a freeze with 2.4.4 either. The camera didn't work properly however (white screen) which is why I went back to stock. I haven't tried the other ROMs yet so....
Thanks!
Thanks to all for super-prompt replies!
And, I have just done a factory reset.
and, yeah- this was the only phone with me-- so I did not go for root/flash yet.
But- I have a spare fone now ( HTC P3400! my trusty old friend!--ROMs flashed like flash on a camera!)
I have read quite some information on flashing streaky dear-- just some catching up to do.
and, lordmorphous -- I am a fan already Simple Streak looks awesome
Strephon - yeah- I find it odd too! but now- lets see what happens-- I will test this |clean| stock rom for weeks time -and then jump to Simple streak.
Gregionis- I had similar number of apps on stock-- will check now.
All - thanks for the help!
Keep Streakin'

Hi
I usea programme called fast reboot. Its great to clean ram up from various appliications.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Fast Reboot is an excellent tool. I had it when I was using AdFree to implement the host file changes. After switching to AdAway, which has a full reboot routine included in the app, I still use Fast Reboot.
Weeks at a time
Hi!
I run simplestreak 1.3, before i used simplestreak 1.2. Cant remember any problems really. Now looking into 2.3 roms, mainly because its.. too stable and no thrills at all.
Maybe because i am alamoust religious when it comes to flashing. Going all trhe way all resets and wipes and all of it. Alaways.
Just a GRAND thanks to all!
Thanks to all - BIG time.
I took this problem forward- and got my Streak replaced!
and, now- this is really a fast one!!
I dont remember My streak being this fast in past 8 months!!
-- I guess, it is right! " No two streaks are the same!"
Now- I will check the uptime- but I already see the speed!
--
So, this is my 3rd streak in last 11 months!
But, I love this phone!!
CAnt wait to get on the flashing wagon now!!
In a weeks time
Thanks to all!!
Sony.
Gingerstreak 2.4.4 installed for around a month now I think. Not a single forced reboot and it hasn't frozen either.
I have rebooted manually a couple of times whilst sorting the battery meter out but this is the most stable the thing has been since I got it in July last year! I've previously had stock 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, Streakdroid 1.5.3, 1.8.1 and 1.9.1 and couldn't get it stable on any of them. Finally after nearly 18 months it works as it should!
It lives next to the bed overnight on standby and has woken up and sounded my alarms every day without fail since going to 2.4.4
The only thing I seem to be able to point to that i've done differently is SetCPU running 576/1113 lagfree. If I go higher it doesn't like it on previous builds (including 2.4.3) so i've not tried it on this one. Going lower seemed to cause issues for me too so maybe the various stability problems people experience are CPU / governor related? We know that they all have varying max clock speeds so I wonder if they have varying minimums too?
