I've recently debranded my phone and flashed it to 2.1 firmware and it worked great. There was no issue for a couple of weeks but for the past couple of days it seems that everytime I take out my battery the date and time just resets to 1 jan 2000 and 00:00. Only happens if i take out the battery though. Its ok when I just turn it off then on without removing the battery.
I don't know if the pcb of the phone has an internal battery (like the cmos battery on a laptop) that may be gone. I think I might need to take it back and get it checked out in the shop.
My problem is that, it's already debranded and updated to 2.1. If anyone has Vodafone UK X10i I rom for me to flash I would be gratefull.
Otherwise I got this 2 files i pulled out from SEUS/PC Companion before I did the debranding (File_277469026-16mb and File_277575110 - 135mb).
Can I use this file for flashing back my original rom?
Please i need help.
i get the date and time from my operator. you should check the data and time settings and set to auto. the date and time will then be set every time you register on the network or handover to another operator/location.
if that's the only issue there is no need to reflash

Hi thanks for the replies.
Tried doing the manual time but same thing happens, resets after batt removal.
I also managed to decrypt the original rom files and i've reflashed my phone to original rom and guess what? same thing happens.
At least its back to its original state, i can bring it to the shop to look at.
Cheers for the infos.

Why are you taking out battery?

4 weeks ago I upgrade my phone to the froyo os (experia x10 on rogers) and had some issues with crashes so I reverted back to the generic firmware I just downloaded and now the phone stay with a black screen and after 10 sec or so start to vibrate non stop and will not charge. so I ordered a separated battery charger got it in the mail last week charged my battery and I was able to flash the phone again so I tried a few different firmware with all the same results, when using seus I get a message saying I already have the latest software and no option to repair
I wonder if anyone would have some tips or could point me to an adequate firmware for my phone.. The 2.1 I had previously is not available anymore
I have searched allot on the forum and have to find a solution that work for me so any help is really appreciated.
Even when SEUS says you have the latest software, there is option to download the firmware again (repair), just click it and get your phone to life.
or else you can try flashtool.
also remember clear cache before flash
I remember seeing this option in seus last year but I since changed computer and re downloaded seus the other day and this option does not appear to be available anymore... Flash tool is what I use now and I m wondering if I either dont have the right file or the right version of seus
I never cleared the cache I will try that tonight...
Your phone is bricked.

Code:

and you´ll get something like
Code:
USB\Vid_0fce&Pid_adde\5&1a93e808&0&1
your device ID is 5&1a93e808&0&1 (in my case)
just copy that to DeviceId.txt file

I had 2.1 working on my Hero. When I upgraded it on it's offer, it freezed with picture 'HERO' on display. After I took battery out and started it again, it automaticly went in to booth mode. On display there is some info about the phone, than blank than RUU, and underneath that there is a picture of chip which is crossed....
What do I need to do?
Btw I'm an amateur regarding this stuff, so try to make it as simple as possible
Thanks in advance.

What is the rom u update? Some Rom must take a long time in the first rebooting. If it still be freezed about 15 minutes, wipe all and try another rom.

Rooted?
If not, may be the motherboard. I've got the same problem with mine, and I'm going to return it to store for a fix.
You may also want to try to plug it to the computer and open PC Companion and try the "repair" function. But backup everything you need first, I don't think everything get's deleted but be aware that it may happen.

Hi, I got a similar problem. Since a few weeks ago, flashed a ROM and when I've tried to use the phone, it keeps turning off randomly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after hours. So, I tried to take it back to the clean original 2.3.3 ROM, but it keeps happening. ¿Any idea? ¿Any solution? Please, help me.

Didnt PCCompanion/seus fix it? And still persists?
Then it's time to get a new chipset.
Or a new device.

Did u try the repair function in PC Companion/SEUS (SE update service)?

Okay, I was told to go here since people on AndroidForums.com had no clue on what to do.
Okay, here are my problems -
I received this Android from my mom and it was running Android 2.1. When I first got it, I turned it on without charging it. It booted up, came to the lockscreen, then about a second later turned off and now refuses to boot. I have tried flashing it with generic Android 2.1 and Stock ATT Android 2.1. But it refuses to do nothing but flashes a green light and vibrates. But that all it does. And PC Companion, SEUS, FlashTool have done nothing! So what do I do now? It accepts Flashes and restores, but it's like the Boot Files are corrupted. And I cannot JTAG, so is there any other options?
Thanks in Advanced,
NetworkLabs

No, because I charged it all night and tried to turn it on with no success. So that isn't the problem...
Flash 2.3 firmware then do root, recovery(just in case you don't have it) and a kernel.

I had quite the similar issue with my x10i. One day it just decided to stop working completely. No lights no nothing, tried everything, just dead. So I contacted SE and they said they could do nothing if the software had been tampered with, no matter how much I assured them if was a hardware related fault.. So I went to my carrier and they sent me to a phone repairing company (Fonemenders here in Ireland), who try fix the phone themselves by getting parts in from the manufacturers. If they deem your phone irreparable they will get you a new replacement. This is exactly what happened me. So the other day I received an email saying that seeing as my x10 couldn't be fixed, I'd be receiving a Sony Arc as a replacement! So i'm happily waiting for the Arc to get here while I use my moms old x8.
So my best advice if nothing is working, go to your carrier and hopefully they can get you through to a phone repairing place, and I wish you as good luck as my own
Well, I cannot replace the Phone since I am not really using it as a Phone. It will not be activated, it's just to mess around with. And I really don't want to buy a Samsung Galaxy Player just so I don't have to deal with this. So I'm going to try the Stock ROM now and see if it works. Do I have to wait for boot up or something?
Try to flash with SE Companion. It will work.
Well, I restored using SEUS because it's the only one that recognized the phone, other than FlashTool. After it restored, it said Unplug the phone and wait for first time. It will take a while. So I am currently doing that. Hope it turns on!
Well, I've restored it and it still sits here. What's next?
I am going to try to flash it using s1tool and see if that helps. Also, can someone please respond with what they think is wrong?
Okay, here's another question - In order to load the firmware you told me, does my Bootloader have to be UNLOCKED? If so, how do I do that without ROOT... Because I cannot do anything with the Phone.

Nooo to flash a stock firmware you don't need unlocked bootloader

Well, it won't let it. It either doesn't recognize the device or it returns a error... =/
I cannot flash the firmware that you suggested! It get's to system.sin and then aborts with no error information...
Any additional help?

I have a question for you... is the phone rooted ? If not then try following
1) start your PC companion and select update software
2) if software say, your phone is up to date then use here will be repair option you need to select it.
3) once you select repair it will download stock GB 2.3.3 and after download it will ask you to plug you phone in flash mode
4) remove phones battery and connect the phone to your laptop.
5) now place the battery back while holding down the back button (3rd button from left) { this step is important as this will get your phone into flash mode.
6) above steps should get your phone back onto stock unrooted ROM...
if you want then use flash tool to root it again but be careful with kernels and bootloader
Set from my Transforer TF101 using xda app-developers app
Well, I think I have tried that and it still won't boot. But I will try again. (PS - Sorry for this old thread, but I just needed a break on working on it! I am going to try again and see if it works!)
Morning everyone
i have tried to search the forums with a similar problem, but i couldnt find a solution to this.
NOTE; If there is, please provide a link to the post, i'll appreciate that.
So this is what happened :
i flashed the phone with custom rom ( MiniCM9/JB/ICS) successfully..but after finding that the camera didnt work with one of the roms ICS i think, i reverted back to the original e10i kernel.
the problem with this is that PC Companion couldnt update my phone, as it didnt recognise it, it only said SONY/SONY ERICSSON phone..apart from that, the battery seems to have died out, i tried charging it on the wall plug but it would boot up and display the SONY ERICSSON logo and after a few seconds, restart. it doesnt seem to charge the phone but rather gives it a 'boost' to boot up. it does the same thing when plugged in the laptop. Now, the baterry seems to have been depleted completely as the red led flashes while still connected in flash mode.
I expected a big battery icon to display when i charged it on the wall plug but i got the boot logo...and restarts..SEUS said i have the latest software..PC companion couldnt ''repair'' it because the battery would run out while still connected in flashmode.
Please assist me in anyway.
thanks
AGAIN : if there is a problem somewhere in the forums PLEASE direct me to it, i dont wanna cause any spam on the forums.
Thank you

Your main problem is that you still have the custom ROM although you're back on stock kernel. Try to flash this with flashtool.

Thanks bro..i'm downloading it now will try it after an hour or so..have to go to a friends house for a laptop..thanks to lighting storm. Anyway i'll keep you updated with the process.
After doing so can i flash custom rom?(i'd like to think so, just confirming to ease my conscience lol) and currently which is the most stable rom between the aforementioned roms? Just looking for your opinion.
Thanks again.

Yes, your bootloader will remain unlocked, so you will be able to flash custom kernels and roms, no problem.
They are working on a fix for the camera, and the first one updated will be MiniCM9 i think, but for now MiniCM7 (or other gingerbread based roms) remains the best performing option for our phones.

Smg, i tell you, Yesterday was not my xperias day. My data bundles depleted while it had gone 80% (i think) into the download, i then recharged for another 100MB unfortunately i was using my ageing 6730c on Opera mini n the download couldnt resume! So i'd like to know, how big is the file itself because when it started, it said 114MB it reached that size and kept on going till 188MB i guess that's how much bundles i had. Anyway will try to get a wifi hotspot.
I think i'll go with the MiniCM7 for now till further development is made for these ROMS. A very big up to the developers.
Till i get that file! Later

Yes, sorry about that.. it's the original SE stock 2.1 firmware and it comes in at about 210mb, although the site keeps saying differently, i don't know why it does that. You need to flash it with flashtool.

hey bro....guess what..it worked. I ended up downloading the file via a blackberry lol anyway it was 210MB...215 in fact..anyway my phone is fixed and ready for customisation. A very big Thank u man. I'm just waiting for it to fully charge because it was completely drained i was lucky it survived the original stock flashing.
Thanks for the time and energy you put in. I really appreciate it. Cant wait to get my Samsung Galaxy Gio lol i know its a bit old now but it hasn't seen the 'other side' of the grass.
