Although it didn't seem to help "tomboss".
just upload the SEUS Files if you got the "release" version of 2.1
Now we are able to decrypt SEUS Files directly and make them ready for X10Flash

Hi All,
I recently flashed my at&t X10a to X10a R2BA026 0001 CUSTOMIZED GEL/LUSTER WHITE NAM_1. I assume this is the generic for North America. My question is, does anyone know when the 2.1 update for the firmware I specified will be released? Any information would be much appreciated.
Thank you all!
according to SE LAM it'll be ready for this week, they just said 2.1 will be released during the week of nov 15th
I'm just waiting xD
Really SE Latm really work? LOL, but will make that rom a difference to have the nordic or global?

Thanks!
honestly I have no idea, NAM and LATAM are different
you can also switch to LATAM if you want

Yeah I might just do that if I don't get the update by next week.
What are kit number for NAM & LATAM Firmware for the X10a??
I've flashed the Generic World, and also the Brazilian firmwares onto my X10a & and both worked great.

In the post from xperia10 it is X10a CUST-GEL NAM1 1234-4820 this is not the KIT #, it is what you need to get
PC Companion to do a repair. Put in KIT # and you get back up to date no new firnware available.
GEL = GEneric Latin
It is out today 11/17, I loaded it this morning.

Hi All,
Last night I updated my X10a to 2.1 generic verison(Had 2.1 Rogers Firmware previously). I thought I would put down the process i followed so that it may help X10a users.
1. Step 1 - I used Exploid tool from this post ,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7490733#post7490733 and downgraded the phone from 2.1 Rogers firmware to 1.6 generic LAM version. In the Exploid tool select option 1 which flashes your phone with the 1.6 Generic LAM version.
2. Step 2 - After the flashing is complete disconnect the USB and power up the phone. Now connect the USB back and start SE PC companion.
3. Step 3 - SEPC detects X10a and it says latest software update available. Just follow the instructions from there and you will get Unbranded generic LAM 2.1 firmware on your x10a.
Hope my post helps.

You need to rename files, but otherwise, yes.
e.g. amss_fs_rachael_S1-SW-LIVE-AC12-0001-S1-PARTITION -> amss_fs.sin
system_S1-SW-LIVE-AC12-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE -> system.sin
etc.

I don't think so. There are two Global Generic firmwares, one for X10i and one for X10a. The one above is the X10a one.
X10a CUST-GEL NAM1 1234-4820 (http://www.multiupload.com/ZGI6JWKIPG)
X10i GLOBAL-GGL GENERIC 1232-9897 (http://www.multiupload.com/9N5BJ7II13)
And of course, here's the Rogers firmware:
X10a ROG-CA NAM1 1233-6929 (http://www.multiupload.com/M048IDMI4L)
I haven't actually downloaded any of these, so I can't be sure that I have the right numbers, but I'm pretty sure they're right.
OK then, sorry, I never heard of this particular version before.
Ok I was not aware that the generic x10a firmware was available. so I posted the steps i did to get the generic one as i do not like the rogers logo on phone
Are the 2 x10a firmwares that are posted the same?
I have a question. Why do you need to downgrade it back to 1.6 first? I flashed 2.1 rogers with generic world 2.1 and it worked fine. No need for extra headache step. There is actually a person who bricked his phone while trying to downgrade lol. So I assume you can easily just flash 2.1 rogers to 2.1 LAM.
Edit: well okay, I guess topic starter wasn't really talking about flashing, my bad but it is a better, easier and faster way to upgrade imho
I actually tried what the topic starter said, but can never pass step 1. Always say wrong deviceid even though I am sure it was correct one.
Is somehow your phone working better on Generic LAM 2.1 on X10a, than Nordic or than Generic UK software?
I wanted to try Generic LAM 2.1 but I really don't know if the process worths it, going to LAM, will work better on network stability (3g/HSDPA), something else?
Thanks all for further info.

The Rogers firmware removes the option to switch between 2G/3.5G.
What does it say on the Service Menu?
I would like to know what it says in the hidden Service Menu, Configuration submenu (the one reached by the L-R combo on the lock screen or the Service Menu apk).
On the 1.6 for AT&T (which should be the same as rogers in this case) it says on the Configuration screen:
Working Band/s:
GSM850, GMS900, GSM1800, GSM1900
UMTS_BS1, UMTS_BS2, UMTS_BS5, UMTS_BS6
Also if you had any issues with APN, Android Market, MM/SMS...... afterwards.

I know it's in the forums. There is a string in a file you need to alter. Worked like a charm for me.
I have to run, but I'll be back home in about 2-3 hours. If you haven't found the information by then, I'll help search for it with you.

either of the 2 will work, for 2.1 you will be editing the build.prop
looks complicated haha
wish there was a script for this
oh well
thanks a lot

JIT for X10a (build 2.0.A.0.504)
Hi All,
For all of you who install JiT and worry that their phone says X10i rather than X10a, I have edited and attached the JiT files so now it will say X10a running 1234-4820 world generic. Just download the attached file and follow the instructions here. You can download Terminal Emulator.apk from the market.
Hope this helps.
**EDIT**
JIT v2 has been released and it does not change the model info. You can find it here.
Unintenionally Downgraded to .504 build
This worked great. I was able to install JiT without trouble.
I later discovered I was back on the .504 build. After reflashing to the .24 build I discovered that it was the JiT that downgraded me. Is there a JiT for the latest build?
Thanks

Thanks for your response. I was trying to avoid installing XRecovery. I ended up using Bin4ry's flash tool. Then I gave in and installed XRecovery to get JiT2.

This is the older JIT version. It did not change your firmware, it changes the build.prop. You were still running the .24 fw but, the build.prop was from the old firmware. I forgot to update it since the new JIT has been released and it does not affect the model info.
