Hi everybody, as you all may know, The Xperia X10 will (probably) be upgraded by sony ericsson ...
Ans as you all know, the USB Connector has a serial issue which is not repairable unless you've got money (and warranty). Mine is broken, so I can't connect it to my PC anymore, I've bought an external loader, but I won't be able to update my phone anymore, unless Sony release their uptaes OTA.
I was thinking about another way to flash future firmwares. It is possible to do it without any PC ? Just by copying some files on the sdcard and update the phone through the phone ? Or via Bluetooth connection ?
Sorry for my bad english. Hope a solution will appear.
Regards. Saldy.

It could be, but in fact The Xrecovery install failed (I checked all the requirements and all the step, I made it the right way). I'll give a try another time, I hope it'll be the solution I'm searching for.
Thanks .
I'll never buy a phone with a USB MINI 2.0 B-TYPE connector anymore.

Well, this USB mini has become a standard now for most smart phones.
Looks like a new apple customer then!

Basically, my phone USB connector, is for some reason not recognizing anything being plugged into it. I have tried a different cable and i get the same response :/ NOTHING!
Plug into the computer - Nothing
Plug into the wall - Nothing.
I need to flash my phone back to stock, but the only method i can think of is via USB, Over the Air updates are canceled out via the current software I have on my phone. So is their any other possible way ?
Thanks
I suffer from exactly your same issue.. sad 'cause i now have a very expensive brick .. Already covered the topic in my thread, but there is no evident resolution...
I suspect the USB circuit and/or port is defective , or poorly implemented, and breaks easily...

I would go in to your service provider, and hopefully you get an idiot who doesn't realise you were trying to root your Xperia, and they might replace it for you.
Thing thing is, it was going to be sent back for a repair. When the tech guys look at my firmware , they will realise I have rooted my phone, i was hoping to Un-root my phone and then send it back .. Or will this not matter?
Is their not a way to flash my phone back to normal, via the SD-Card?? somthing must be possible if Over Air is Possible..
Any Idea's anybody please?? thanks

I don't know what it would exactly do, but in the Second card
&. Phone storage section of the settings app, there's a factory data reset button, try that.

Hey mate, ive sorted it out i phoned up the Network Operater, and explained I wasnt a satisfied customer, because Ive had the same problem once before (this time i sent it through phones4u with a 30 day wait before i had my phone back :/..... ) Nevertheless Orange currier are coming out tommorow between 6-10 with a new phone battery and charger. which i couldnt knock back (probs reconditioned) but nvm .
Will try and make my phone as clean as possible without any root settings. before take my phone away and probs fix & reflash the phone to factory settings anyway so i dont think it makes any odd's what i do now .
am quite surprised the woman on the phone offered me this type of service, as I got the phone from Phones 4 u, bet yet Orange are the company doing my replacement.
Funny quote from the phone call :-
"Are you sure you for the phone from us sir?"
"erm, yes"
"Ive never seen this message on the system before, its saying your not one of our customers"
"I must be one of your customer's otherwise you wouldnt have all my details"
"Yes thats right ill just ignore the message and send you the replacement"
is there still no solution to this because i need to ship mine back for service.
Have you tried adbwireless apk. Allows you to connect to your phone via adb over your wireless network. You maybe able to modify bin4ys flash tool and flash wirelessly?
Worth a try?

Hey why don't you try Zdzihu's recovery menu? You can flash some of the ROMS from Jerpelea without touching a computer... Of course you'll need to download the ROM straight to your device...

I've got this same problem too. (appologies for multi posting, I did search first).
No response since the upgrade. I'll look into Zdzihu's recovery menu.
If anyone gets any news, please shout.
OK put Zdzihu recovery on and flashed to Jerpelea's lite rom without the need for a USB....... however the problem still stands! Plug in the wall charger and nothing..... plug in PC USB and .... NOTHING.
I got this phone as a prototype before they were released, by a mate in the industry. So have no warrenty to send it back with. But I love the phone so any more ideas?
I have left it switched off to preserve the battery until a solution is found.
I remain hopeful!
Plz delete.

What usb cable are you using? Did you get one WITH the phone from a friend, did it come with another phone, or did you buy it from a store? I used to work at RadioShack and we had different usb cables for different phones. The connector may be the same, but the pin position in the cable can be different. A normal looking USB cable that would come with say, a motorola phone couldn't be used to charge a blackberry despite the connection being the same port type.

Did they fix it or give you a new one and were you rooted? I have the same problem with the broken usb but I rooted and stripped all the bloatware and now have no way to flash back to stock rom. I still have the Rogers rom but streamlined.
Does anyone know how to put stuff back on like Timescape. I have all the apks from this forum and installed all the timescape stuff but it doesn't show up in the app drawer. If I clean up the phone and send it back will they know it was rooted keeping in mind that it is still the stock Rogers rom just with less crap on it.
I think one solution, since you already have Zdzihu's recovery menu, will be to ask someone who is using Rogers to create a backup image and upload it some where. Then you can use the restore tool from recovery menu and you'll be set up with Roger's again. Unfortunately I cannot help you with this since I'm in Guatemala but probably someone else can... I hope you can fix it men.

yea that would work but i bought mine factory unlocked and im sending it back to sony ericsson so i just need a generic firmware. i tried looking to see if any one did a backup of a stock firmware but no luck
Edit: nevermind. found generic rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9134882&postcount=1 at the bottom. going to test now and see if it works.
I made a terrible mistake, I followed the instructions to update to MiniCM6 and forgot the 'Factory Reset' before restarting my phone.
Now the X11 mini keeps rebooting in loop, I cannot access xRecovery any more. When I withdraw the battery and plug the usb when pressing the back button, I can flash with FlashTool.exe again as I needed before to have the baseband 015.
I don't know what to to and cannot find any clue on the forum.
tomorrow will be a day without phone... back to the 80's
Someone knows what I could do?
(To be more precise I uploaded MiniCM7, not MiniCM6)
The software Sony PC companon told me that there is not version yet available for this model, very strange after warning me that all my data would be deleted I hoped a full restore (it also requires a start with the back button pressed)
Do a SEUS repair, install recovery through the flash tool and then go to the Mini PRO forum and download their ROMs because a Mini Pro cannot use a Mini (without the keyboard) ROM and visa versa.
Let this be a lesson to always follow the instructions... thats why they there...
Good luck!!

According to the sony forum it seems I'm not the only one without repair option on SEUS and having "there is no software available for your phone yet, please try again later" on PC compagnon.
But non of the threads finish well...

I've spent hours using it... remember I have no phone anymore, it's a good motivation.
This whole thread that you link (thank you for trying) just say "launch SEUS". Basically, the first thing that I tried before writing here.
I though you use to have such problem and had your own way. But since the SEUS and PC Compagnon failed you seems as powerless as me
Even on the SE forum nobody know what to do when the "repair" is just not available.
There's a ROM for each provider, I guess Sony bugged on Vodafone Australia.
Then, Try this

If you can't fix your device with that thread, you should take it to Someone who knows how to do it, You can make more damage to your device, if you do something bad.
Hope it works for you.

Hi everyone
I´ve a problem, my usb port not working, so can´t charge ou even connect to pc.
EDIT: I´ve tryed with different usb cord ou usb chargers, same problem: can´t charge or connect to (any) pc. The problem is in usb phone.
Solution: go to SE support, Problem: X10 Mini Pro rooted and with modified rom.
So is that possible to flash an original rom (Vodafone Portugal) but using only the sdcard and xrecovery? Here i can get the original rom?
Best regards and many many thanks in advance.
All the best for you
I don't see any problem here. Charge your phone using socket in the wall

I´ve used many diferent charges or usb cords, the problem is in usb phone, so i can´t connect to any pc or charge the batery That´s why i wan´t to downgrade so i could send phone to SE.

it would still be the same. SE people needs to turn on phone to try to connect the phone. they would know if the phone has custom ROM.
@thread starter ( BMFDUARTE ):
- Find a thread at x10 mp section for you to download the back up file for the stock ROM. I have back up for stock ROM but it is impossible for me to upload it. Sorry.
-Just download the back up file and put it in your SD cards folder which would be "clockworkmod" or "xrecovery".
-Run the recovery in your phone and restore the downloaded back up file.
-After doing so, you should have the stock ROM back.
-There you can FOOL the SE people
Hey, you can give them phone, and they will fix it. Why are you afraid giving them phone with custom rom? They will fix your phone and you'll have to pay for it. Rooting your phone only disables your guaranty for the phone. That means you'll have to pay for their help.
SEUS says new software already installed
When I connect my e10i to SEUS for flashing back to stock rom its says new software alrready installed. this is happening after unlocking the bootloader and flashing nAa-08 kernel to the phone. PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!

Hello all.
My Xperia X10 Mini Pro is stuck on bootloop as you can see on this video
http://youtu.be/EhaBn0uuSvE
It just got like that from one moment to the other..I was using stock ROM
I tried to flash with Flashtool with these ROMs
U20a_2.1udpt1_Generic
ST17i-Active_4.1.B.0.431-1254-6360_SONY
On the first ROM it gets 100% successfull but still cant boot !
This phone was bought on Portugal, so I dont know if the ROM makes any difference..
Need some advice please !
I've read somewhere that Gordon's Gate (part of Flashtool) can still access a phone even when it bootloops.
Could you document what steps you already took? Perhaps link to the article you followed? (Below is a list of certain steps one usually takes when installing custom ROMS, but they are by no means always necessary, could you perhaps indicate what you already did?)
Rooted Yes/No/Not Sure
ClockWorkMod installed Yes/No/Not Sure
Unlocked bootloader Yes/No/Not Sure
Custom kernel Yes/No/Not Sure
The location of where the phone was bought will not make a lot of difference for the ROM. It might affect things like hardware keyboard layouts, but there are fixes available for those. But things like specific baseband and firmware are still important. By carefully reading the description, you can usually check if your phone can be used.
To be honest, I only have used Flashtool to flash new kernels to my X10 Mini Pro, for just installing another ROM I use ClockWorkMod.
What you can try:
Unbrick through SEUS: here (video)
I've read about people unbricking their devices with PC Companion, here.
If you should be able to regain access to the phone and still want to tinker:
This ROM works nice with the stock kernel
Later, you could unlock the bootloader, flash custom kernels (nAa ICS 04) and install ROMS needing such custom kernels (the U20 ICS ROMS, like MiniCM9)
Should you feel the need to ever unlock the bootloader, use this tool
Cheers and thanks for your post !
I used SEUS and updated to latest firmware but still no success on booting. It stills the same...
Rooted No
ClockWorkMod installed No
Unlocked bootloader No
Custom kernel Not Sure
Any chance that you can point me a stock rom and stock kernel to see if it boots that way?

Don't update, repair... leave your phone unplugged when SEUS searches for updates, it can't recognise your phone when it's not connected and will give you a repair option. choose that, and make sure you select your phone from the list presented. it will then flash original kernel and firmware to your phone.
Don't know which kernel you flashed before you got this bootloop, but the second rom you mentioned in your opening post isn't even for your phone, so i guess you got confused with what goes for your phone. You don't even get a kernel logo, so i guess you flashed a kernel for a different model altogether, or your stock kernel got corrupted. a repair should fix it.
I'm now updating on PC Companion like belgianguy said
If unsuccessfull I'll follow your instructions, thanks a lot in advance !
Same on PC Companion..no boot !
SmG67, I dont see any repair option on SEUS. It detects the phone and says thar it's updated. If I remove the battery while is searching my phone it keeps saying that it's updated. What am I doing wrong ?
On PC Companion I got the Repair option, it repaired, but...surprise...still can't boot !

That's a shame... because you now have all official sony ericsson firmware on your phone, kernel and rom... If it's still not booting the kernel, there's nothing you can do about it, maybe a repair-shop might be able to fix it.
Well, a repair-shop isnt able to fix it because the mini-usb port has bad contact and they consider this phone out of warranty because of that ! It almost never happens that bad contact..

Well if it's that far gone it might very well be a hardware issue. But just to be sure, could you start Flashtool and see if it still recognizes the device (see screenshot of what I see).
If it isn't able to, an older version of s1tool had an IDENTIFY option that required you plug the USB cable into the computer (but not in the phone), to shut down the phone, then push the BACK button and then plug the usb cable into the phone.
The bad contact you mentioned might be causing troubke as well, are you sure it isn't the cable that is at fault? Perhaps try to attach the USB cable in such a way that its not stressed and so that the phone cannot move (to prevent it from disconnecting due to a bad contact). Your flashes very well might have gone faulty because of that. But then again, the SEUS/PC Companion flashes seem to have succeeded, so hopefully Flashtool can shed some light here.

4.0 is a nice upgrade from 2.3.x. There are other, newer custom options as well for your phone. The good news is, that if the Sony PC Companion fails to update the phone correctly (rare) and it ends up in a mode where it can not boot, there is another tool that can restore the phone as well that is pretty powerful. It would be difficult for you to do something that would make it unrecoverable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r0J0eq5ye4 - Guide is the same for most Sony phones of that generation, if not all...
