I have problem with my HTC HD2- it's stuck in bootloader.
I had HSPL and some random polish rom for few months, then decided to flash Artemis one- so I started with installing SPL.
I took ruu_signed.nbh from the new official LEO rom (3.14), and installed it on SD card (i had deleted all files on the card before that). Then I used bootloader, like I always did...
...but now I can't use it, rom doesn't want to work (power on doesn't work). I tried to flash official rom using PDA installer, but I can't connect it with ActiveSync (it's still in bootloader).
Soft and hard resets don't help.
and now bootloaders says:

Serial (or USB, if it's connected to PC)
I know I've probably broken device, I'm a huge noob.

Probably just the wrong version of ROM.. You already have SPL 3.03 on your device. Download the official ROM from HTC website for your country. Then try the SD card method by renaming it to LEOIMG.nbh. Do not forget to format the Micro SD using FAT32 before you copy the nbh file

I got a problem with my hd2.. I was trying to flash it, but now i think i ****ed it up!..
First of all i did the HSPL thing.. And then i was trying to flash it with the original update 1.66 flash..
My mobile was saying that it was not allowed!
Now everytime i start my phone you get the bootloader with the message:

I dont know what to do right now

Did you tray a method with SD card?
First of all you have to format a memory card to FAT32. Then put there a image of original rom. Do do so you need download stock rom from HTC and extract it. There you find a *.nbh file, the largest one. Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy to your SD card.
After that put it into a phone, an enter the bootloader mode. You have to press and hold volume down key. That's all. All you need now is to follow instructions which will be displayed on screen of your phone.

it looks like hspl is not installed on your device with the line SPL-1.66.0000 XE on the screen. it should read SPL-1.42.HSPL XE when it is hsplled. flash the original shipped rom again from bootloader with a goldcard or reflash the hspl
redownload your rom as it might be corruped and causing a bad flash
especially look in the firstlink i gave you.
you have tried to flash 1.66 this is a WWE or ITArom. your device is not hspl-ed so it will not accept a dutch rom. you need a goldcard to flash a dutch rom again or try to reflash a stock WWe rom.
If you are Dutch or using NLD (or equavalent)
Get the official (from htc) ROM, rename the EXTENSION to .ZIP an/or open it with Winrar.
There is a .nbh file in it, wich you need to extract to (for example) your desktop.
Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and put it on your MicroSD (wich MUST be formateed FAT32)
Put your microSD in the phone.
Start your phone in the BOOTLOADER (keep VOLDOWN pressed and shortly press POWER .. while keeping the voldown button)
Follow the instructions on screen.
Wait till all the options say OKE, even if your phone goes running trough the room, dont click anything!
(you will see some explanation marks and reboots, this is normal).
After you should have flashed SPL 1.66 and able to boot the official ROM.
But the problem is.. All the original roms doesnt work.. They Say "00028002 Not allowed"
The ROM error is because you try to downgrade 1.66 to 1.48, wich is (i think), not allowed, and would answer my own qeustion.
have you tried the goldcard method? if there is a language restriction somewhere this will solve this

in installing progress i see a error and after restart say: software update failed please try again
now my spl is 3.03
and task29 and hspl 1 and 2 and 3 and any orginal roms NOT installed in my htc hd2...
plz help! :-D i really really confused

You need to remove SPL 3.03!!
Only way to remove is to flash stock rom over SD!

maybe cotulla should make a new hspl that support 3.03 . true?
Same here,flashing stock ROM from the SD Card doesnt help,the SPL 3.03 is there wont let me pass through,we need a new HSPL or else throw the Phone into the garbage can and get a NOKIA.!!

I did every thing you think.
after flashing some coocked roms (last of them was dexter the dark one) I decided to flash an original,official rom - because I heared that many problems resolved in it - and it was the 3.14.405.2 version that I found direct download link here! I extracted the .nbh file and renamed it to leoimg.nbh and coppied it into my FAT32 formatted sandisk SD 8GB class2 ram and I held voldown btn and pressed pwr to enter rainbow screen, flashing started but it froze at 10 or 15 % . after this I tested many ways from xda and other helpers but my phone showed these screens:
if I just power it on:
grey danger triangle
Software update failed.
Please try again.
and if i hold voldown and press pwr:
in rainbow screen:

2)with SD card : whether I use rainbow screen or just pwr on my device , it
automatically start flashing and at the start it shows Loading... and in some cases it froze at this level and in other cases it shows this error:

And now my spl is 3.03 so HSPL can't do anything!(as I tested it)

I'm sorry if it is duscussed already and if this is the wrong section but I've searched and I'm paniced (sorry if it is the wrong word but my English is not very good). I had a HD2 for 2 months already, booted Android and etc. and it all went good until today... A friend of mine gave a video in youtube in which is shown how to uninstall HSPL. I've followed everything - downloaded the official HTC rom, copied the .nbh file on the SD card, followed the instructions and everything was OK but when I tried to boot it shown the 3-color screen and message "Software update failed. Please try again". In the 3-color screen it says :
SS-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(Touch) 0x05
When I enter in bootloader it gives me the same but with
"Upgrade ROM code error. Please try again."
When connect the USB cable it says "USB" and when the USB cable is disconnected it says "Serial".
If I try to install new official ROM it goes up to 1% and gives an "Error 294 Invalid vender ID".
There is no HSPL (I think so) for my version - 3.03.0000 and I don't know how to downgrade and if there is any way to downgrade.
Please, tell me if there is anything I can do to fix my phone. ;( Thank you.
you have simply tried to flash the wrong 3.14 rom. it has passed the first security test because hspl was installed, updated the spl from hspl to spl 3.03.0000 and then it has run the security test again but this time failed so the flash halts.
enter bootloader and flash ANY CORRECT stock rom. this means if your original rom was example vodafone italy, you need a vodafone italy rom, flash it over usb, job done.

I was trying to flash my HD2 with the latest ROM for my region using the SD card method as the USB port is not working, it will charge the phone but does not sync with the pc.
All was going well with the flash when all of a sudden the screen went black and since then I've had the following..
When I turn it on I get the triangle with the exclamation mark.
If I try to go into the bootloader I get the RGBW screen with

then I get the white screen with
loading......
almost immediately I then get

wrong rom for that phone. Needs to match operator too,(assuming its from an operator) and just cos the sim may be unlocked the rom is always locked. Flashing from SD removed hspl so now the rom checks fail.

Goes to loading cos leoimg is still on SD card. Since you don't have USB, you can now no longer flash hspl, so only sspl, so only winmo cooked roms, and no radio changes. Unlucky.
Is it bricked or is there a way of getting it to work again?
If I can get it back to some form of a functional phone 'er indoors will gladly use it.
Sure, find the right rom, example a German phone from o2 requires the 'o2 de' rom,, an unbranded one (from carphone warehouse for instance) would use the 'HTC wwe" rom.. etc etc.
Once you figure out which rom you need look for a 3.14 version and flash it.
Don't panic if you get what you got this time, that exclamation,just means you got the wrong rom. Try another one
(Edit - I was gonna mention SSPL but just remembered that it needs USB so your option is as above.... correct stock rom)

This solution doesn't appear to work, I've tried every UK version of 3.14 from the HTC website and I've even tried the original 1.66.405.2 (all versions, obviously trying the WWE one first) all to no avail.

ALL 1.66 roms are unbranded, the branded 1.66 roms are version 1.72, so you haven't tried any operator branded 1.66 roms.

what rom (exact filename please) are you trying to flash? size of sd card? is it a regular hd2 or a tmous?

use hspl2 to set spl 1,66,.0000 and try the flash again. 2.08.0000 is a tmous spl and can cause problems with stock flashing.
Or, use hspl4 and set 3.03.hspl and flash from usb instead of sd. If you want to go back to full stock, once the 3.14 rom has flashed, run hspl4 again and choose 3.03.0000. Voila, all stock,.
Ok Samuel. Today i will format a new pc and i'll do as follow:
Install activesync
Install/copy hspl2 package
Connect The phone via USB and wait The pc to recognize it
Launch hspl2 and try your procedure.

sorry to hear that. All i can suggest is keep trying (correct) stock rom flashes from sd, get a different sd card, 2gb too if you can, just to test. Also try hspl4 to set 3.03, it could just be 2.08 playing up.
i've tried all HSPL4 options and nothing happens, always bars loading but not flashing.
How can i know which is the correct stock rom?
the correct one is the one that HTC.com lets you download using your phones serial/IMEI number.
Usually you can figure it out from the history of the phone, ,,, if it was received on contract from o2 in germany, the correct stock rom will be an o2 ger rom, (RUU_LEO_O2_DK) , from t mobile UK it would need a t-mo uk rom (RUU_LEO TMO_UK). Bought sim free from carphone warehouse, it uses the generic unbranded roms. (ruu_LEO_HTC_wwe)
(The ruu_filenames i quoted are examples, the format is probably slightly wrong, but you get the idea)
contacted HTC the phone is ITA no brand... i've tried ita roms, no success, if i put on sd with leoimg.nbh always stuck on "loading..."
I' had my leo with spl-2.08.HSPL (CotullaHSPL); but i wanted to have some fun with it flash some new roms etc.
so i tried to flash it through USB - it didn't work, so i flashed it from SD card.This is how i did it step by step:
1- I've downloaded: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe from this forum
2- extracted the ruu...nbh file changed the name to leoimg
3- loaded it on sd
4- started HTC with voldown + pwrbutton
5- BAM! it did something
Now when it loads i have those infos on screen:
1- Software update failed. Please try again
2- Loading
3- 0028002 not allowed
4- (on bootloader screen)

It's frustrating that i cannot find a solution (even uncle google failed) so I post it here praying that someone will help me, what to do.
obviously your phone isn't an unbranded wwe.
when you flash a stock rom from sd card, it removes hspl, , then, if the rom isn't correct for its predefined carrier/region, the flash fails.
If you are aiming to run android/wp7 you dont need to do anything, just enter bootloader, apply hspl, then magldr, then android(or wp7)
If you want winmo, then you need to either flash the correct stock rom for that particular phone, or flash hspl followed by a custom rom, or get usb flashing to work.

Thanks a lot for a fast replay.
I've solved the problem, coz i managed to get the USB working (only USB 3.0 port seems to work for me)
So if anybody got a similar problem (with usb not working), just stick your plug in every hole possible ;P
