OK, It starts.
pjw111 asked me to do this, and everything needed was merged into the source tonight.
All credit for this goes to Cyanogen, and all of Team Douche.
This is in no way an official build, however it is built directly from CM source, which can be found on CM Github. I dont own a Slide, so I cant do any testing, but in limited testing pjw111 has reported that everything is working so far. As more gets updated in the source, I'll try and post updates for you guys.

Apparently, you can flash this through recovery 2.x on the slide without issue, so no need for S-Off and fastboot.
Just reboot into recovery as you normally would and flash the rom, followed by gapps.
Still with me? Good.
You'll need a full data wipe or it wont boot. Any future updates will be no wipe updates.
Reboot, and enjoy CM7 on your MyTouch Slide.
Reserved for possible use.
option94 rules in my book!!! Running like a charm.
CM7 is leaps and bounds ahead of CM6!
gona grab a copy of this and test it out
Downloading now... Is the attached recovery image clockwork 3? Does it format the nand ext? Is that why it's needed?
Bah! I want to try this out, but I haven't gotten S-OFF... yet...
Lazy D:
And I already have an idea of what CM7 looks like, having seen other previews, BUT maybe some screens? or Youtube?

Its clockwork 3. Its needed because cw2 wont flash 2.3 for some reason.
Also, If you started already, I forgot to mention that you'lll need to do a full wipe or your phone wont boot.

Oh, weird. Well thanks for posting it, the other build of cw3 didn't work, wouldn't mount anything. I'm assuming this one does haha

I dont have a Slide, so I dont have anyway to get you screens of it on the Slide. Its gonna look the same as on the other previews though, so you can look at those. If someone want to grab some screens and send them to me I'll add them to the OP.

I didn't even know there was another build. Not having this phone leaves me a little out of the loop.
No thanks...I'll wait until a non S-OFF version hits! Arayray's Revamped is doing me just fine!
Also, IM gonna call it a night. I'll look through tomorrow and see If i cant help out with any issues that you guys run into. I dont really see many occuring though, this rom is pretty damn stable apparently.
You may not need s-off, I just have to figure out how to get cw3 into an update zip thats compatible. Not having the phone makes that a little difficult for me. If someone can do that before me, please send me a PM and let me know.
I flashed this through cwm 2.x with no issues at all.
thanks a lot bro, this is great! I couldn't keep waiting for gingerbread

Miguel said that it worked through the current clockwork recovery. SO you don't have to apply s-off, you just have to boot into clockwork like you did with any other ROM.
Is the new recovery img a must?

Okay, I have read a lot of threads to try to understand the whole rooting process. Say I'm starting with a fresh 1.5 stock phone. Would this be the process?
1. install the all-in-one auto root script by grdlock
2. do a nand backup??? (still not sure about this part)
3. then flash whatever custom 2.1 rooted rom???
thanks in advance, and sorry if im no where close to being right.

Okay great. I also read about having to "wipe" while switching out custom roms. So you just can't boot from the recovery, then reflash a custom rom i take it? please explain the wiping; that part is about the only one i'm still sketchy on.

You'll see exactly what wiping means when you flash Amon RA's recovery image. To the best of my knowledge and to simplify it for you, it sets the phone back to basically stock like when you programmed it at the store when you bought it. Allowing the ROM you install to do its thing, so to speak.
You'll want to do this in between switching from one rom to another.
Hope this helps, good luck.

No, you will see the option and you have to select it. Its not automatic. Everything will become clear when you install it and finally see the image. Its all laid out for you, and very user friendly.

If I am already on SlideMe2, does this require a wipe?
I am assuming installation is basically the same...
1. Boot to recovery, run update.zip to get Clockwork
2. Install from SD > Choose zip > Update SlideM.zip
?

Also, 121mb free after installing all my apps back with this rom. So far so good. It was 133mb free after first boot.

Not sure what you're asking. As long as you have already rooted and installed the eng build, then all you need is the update.zip file, which allows you to get clockwork recovery initially by hitting "Apply update.zip", and then you can apply the SlideM.zip. I did not need to mount anything, and you certainly don't need to "re-root" if you've done that already.

I'm on SLIDEMEROOT2. If I want to remove or make changes to /System, I would have to go into clockwork recovery to mount the system then issue ADB commands (correct me if I'm wrong please LOL). I have some apps that require Root access to the system folder (Root explorer, Meta-morph too name a few) to make any changes, I know I can get into those folders within the OS but just can't make any changes. I'm really looking into themeing the Frameworks.apk but understand MTS isn't fully Rooted because of the Kernal being locked down. I was just wondering, I will just try this ROM and see what I can come up with. Thanks.
I'm really liking this ROM. It is fast. And not one FC yet Eugene will be getting a Pepsi soon.
Oddness... I tried flashing this ROM and I know it made changes due to losing sense launcher and gaining launcherpro... noticed missing stock HTC apps but no difference in free space, unresponsive SU and FC attempting to open accounts and sync
Hello! Here's another one of my donations to the Slide community - it's AmonRA in an update.zip. There are a few bugs since this is just a quick port and I haven't tested functionality (I'll leave that up to you ).
Notes:
YOU MUST HAVE ROOT AND "ENG" RECOVERY INSTALLED. (Just like the Clockwork method).
Please make sure to use your OPTICAL pad to scroll through menu items - pressing the optical pad is the replacement for pressing Power (aka Enter).
DOWNLOAD: [removed - too broken]

When we have full root (S-OFF), we "might" have a Amon RA recovery. It's wishful thinking on my part, but I really hope so.

So I was trying to update my old energy ROM to ICS and I'm kind of hosed. Got instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362759
Basically:
- Root your device
- Install a custom recovery
- Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #3
- Make sure to do a Factory Reset / Wipe before installing ROM
For the record, these steps are out of order. Steps 4 and 3 are switched and I didn't notice till it was to late. What I did next was do the factory reset and then try to re-install the ROM. Everything seemed to go fine until it was time for a reboot. Then it froze on the HTC logo.
Could use some ideas as to what my next move should be. Since it was a previous version of Energy ROM + Faux kernel, phone is definitely rooted, etc. Perhaps I should start over with a stock Gingerbread ROM?

Apparently I am also supposed to flash the kernel as per this thread which I've finally found:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645641
In order to find it, I had to search for it using Google as this forum software is so haphazard. Also not mentioned in the instructions. Will try this next if I can get at it through just the custom recovery.
Still wrong. Coming from GB and going to ICS you need to flash the ICS RUU in bootloader. I don't know how many times its been mentioned or how many other threads have been started because of this issue.

First im not resbonsible for anything that can happen to your phone this what i do if it didnt work im not resbonsible.
If you are rooted via HTCDev S-On Hboot 1.490018 and up you need to Run a command prompt and flash the boot.IMG that comes with the ROM (if not included extract the ROM and search for its in the .Zip file then move that file into a folder in the Root lf ur C Drive put your phone into fastboot mode (remove battery then put it back then press lock/on button and the volume up button at the same time) then connect it to your PC and run command prompt press on start and search for cmd then run it and type the following :
Cd c:\android (or whatever you named the folder)
After that type:
Fastboot flash boot boot.IMG
After its done unplug your phone from ur PC reboot it and it should work perfectly (it may stay at the HTC Logo for 10-20 minutes)
HOPE IT WORKS ENJOY!

I don't want to put down energy rom, but it hasn't been updated since the original leak, and the instructions were never clarified - he simply never explained the PROPER way to switch from gingerbread to ICS. ARHD gives a better explanation, but I think post #2 in the everything ICS thread gives the best and links to everything you should need..
You have to be careful anytime you are switching to a totally new OS. All the devices I know, switching from 2.1 to 2.2, or 2.2 to 2.3.. or to 4.0+.. it is USUALLY not just a "flash over the old OS".. just something to keep in mind for any of your other or future devices..

Well as far as I know, it ain't like he is getting paid much so it would seem to be a miracle if any of this stuff gets updated. ;-) If I don't have this figured out by Tuesday, I'll use it as an excuse to get a new phone. This one has a crack or two in the screen anyways.
Still, even so I would MUCH rather get this one working again. 'specially since I'm between software gigs & cash is tight. If Energy ROM hasn't been updated and there's a better and/or more complete set of instructions maybe I should be looking at something else. Will continue hunting through these forums for info but can use all the help I can get since this forum software ain't exactly friendly. Probably best to see if I can get it back to stock on ICS and then work forward from there. Having said that, I have an RUU that I am working with, its: PH85IMG_RUBY_ICS_35_S_TMOUS_2.14.531.3_Radio_1.14.550L.17DC_30.78.550L.15_release_259626_signed.zip
Tried just flashing it but apparently there's more to it than that.
Latest problem is that I can't get it re-locked without enabling USB debugging. Can't do this since I don't have a working OS. Can it be done from CLI or recovery?
Uh.... hmmm... mysterious. Seems to have fixed itself. Will try a restart and see what happens.

I was saying that there are some other options, other roms, that have better instructions and have been updated fairly well.. that is all.
The thread I was talking about by glacierguy is here - it links to tons of resources and should answer most questions you may come up with. For example it has "Relock phone (fastboot oem lock)" you can issue fastboot commands while your phone is booted into the bootloader - so this has nothing to do with usb debugging..
There is tons of information here, I know it isn't absolutely organized, but there are a lot of guys here who tried to make the information as easy to find as possible..
Did u try to restart it again it usually takes a couple of times but anyway should either return to stock or use the RUU for the ICS ROM

If you want cutting edge(these both have features no other rom has added yet, and are very current update wise) and like the senseui, try remix's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673609 or if you want with less sense and more of an aosp-ish feel go for his http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623184
ARHD is what is being used for the base for many roms because it is solid and bugless, energy has more features that he had included in his gingerbread rom.. I've heard good things about capromce, but I have no idea what features he has added that are or aren't included in the others..

Okay so I received an Asus Transformer Prime tf201 yesterday. This morning I was able to unlock it, root it, and then I wanted to install the latest nightly of CM10 (24th). After I saw that it was indeed rooted I booted into twrp and in Wipe I did Factory Reset, System, Internal Storage (wanted to get rid of the pictures, etc. from previous owner). I had CM10 latest nightly and gapps both on my External SD Card so I knew I wasn't removing those.
Anyway after clicking on Install and then Using external SD I selected the zip of CM10 and swiped to confirm flash. It does well for about 2 or 3 minutes (the blue bar even shows progress) and then it comes up with the message E:Unable to mount '/staging'.
Please please tell me I did not mess up my Prime when I just got it???!!! Anyone that can help please help as soon as possible as I am really wanting to play with this after all the fantastic reviews I have heard. You would have my eternal gratitude and if it is not wrong to do this I will even donate via PayPal to the person that can help me "fix" my Prime.
Please KNOW I have been looking for answers to this for HOURS today and still haven't found anything to help me. I am really hoping some genius on XDA can help me.

Did you check in twrp under the mounts button? I don't have my prime with me atm but I know there is a mounts section either on the first screen or under advanced may be....

Yeahup I tried mounting everything and then unmounting everything to try and get it to work. What should be mounted/unmounted and selected on either SD Card or Internal? THANKS!

Mine, the radio button for external is on, you could try the terminal under advanced button...command would be something like su then enter and then mount /staging or something like that.... you may want to check the command exactly, my terminal skills are limited...

Probably running TRWP 2.3.x.x, right? Some others had this same problem with the TF300 and switched back to TWRP 2.2.2.1 and their ROM flashed just fine. Might be worth a shot.

Isn't 2.3 for the JB bootloader and 2.2 for ics though?

No, there is a 2.3 for both ics and jb bootloaders ... I THINK that 2.2 was ics only (can't remember for sure). If he was loading the CM10 nightly, he should have had an ics bootloader, or it would not have run.

You do bring up a good point, though ... if his TFP had a JB OTA, he could have the jb bootloader! Alias, you need to check these types of things out before moving forward.

I had the JB OTA before starting I do know that. Would have kept it if I didn't love CM so much! So would I just install twrp 2.2 through fastboot then like I did the 2.3.1.0 that I have now? Or is there another way I can do this? Thank you BOTH for your help! It is much appreciated! :good:

If you had the JB bootloader before, then you surely still have it. You would not change your bootloader by flashing a CM10 nightly ROM. The only way that I know of for you to go back to an ICS bootloader is with nvflash. If nvflash was not on your TFP when you got it, you won't be getting it anytime soon, because it cannot be installed with a JB bootloader on your TFP.
Which TWRP 2.3.1 did you load? The JB version?
The CM10 nightlies are not currently compatible with a JB bootloader, so you had no hope of running it. That may very well have caused your staging error, but I am not sure. Since you apparently have a JB bootloader, you would have to flash an appropriate ROM, like Craig Gomez' (here). But, only the JB version of TWRP 2.3.1 will work for you, as far as I know. So, I'm thinking you must have loaded the correct one.
I cannot be 100% sure that you have the JB bootloader. I hope you are sure that your TFP was updated to JB by an Asus update (OTA).
If I were you, I'd make a plan of action and post it here. Be patient and wait for a response, before moving forward. Good luck with this.

Okay let's see if I can get this is all right. I have The JB version of TWRP 2.3.1. As for running a different ROM I tried the Unofficial one you listed and it still gives me the Unable to mount 'staging/' error. It first says it is verifying the signature then update package, then it says Updating partition details and that is when it comes to the staging error. :crying:
I am 110% positive that my TFP was updated to JB by the Asus update (OTA). Thanks again for the suggestions hopefully someone out there will suggest something.
What about doing the PRIME FULL WIPE that someone suggests here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670824 Then trying to install the Unofficial CM10 with the JB Bootloader? Anyone know if this would work?

I wouldn't try the full wipe... what I would try is the fix permissions button under advanced.... failing that... I would try fastboot install of twrp 2.3 again (instructions on the twrp OP).... it is like you don't have rights to write to the staging partition...
Read this thread... this guy was in the same boat... page 2 post 19 is where he fixed it....

@Alias -- I was really hoping the JB bootloader ROMs would do it for you.
This right here is excellent advice from Gage_Hero:

If this does not work, I am at a loss of how to recreate the Staging partition (and perhaps others), but there is probably a way.

Glad to get you up and running again just do yourself a favor before you try cm10.... make a backup... or 2 I never used cm on my tab but did it on my phone.... when I restored... I had to do it twice... not sure if that is the case with the prime or not ... but if it is a JB bootloader then you should be okay... I like flashing through twrp though .. never did a rom through goo... but I am sure it works...
I need a little more help now. I went to boot into TWRP last night and I just got the dead Andy. Does that mean that putting this stock JB back on my TFP I have lost my TWRP recovery?
My TFP is rooted though as I have SU in my app drawer and I installed Titanium Backup just fine. I just wanted to make a couple of backups of my TFP (one to save on my PC and one to save on my TFP's External SD. So my question is can I reinstall my TWRP through Fastboot like I did before even with it rooted? First time I did it I followed these instructions:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pW05Jf87dg&feature=plcp
But upon further reading it states that people have had problems installing JB ROMs with using the 2.3 or 2.3.1 version so should I install the 2.2 version? Please someone help me yet again possibly??? THANKS!

I think people have had issues installing 2.2 on the JB bootloader I would fastboot install 2.3.1 there is no reason it shouldn't work..... I think there is some disconnect between twrp and some of the jb roms as some devs are including twrp in their install like Mr.Wookie over at team wookie.....

Okay so I went ahead and have redone TWRP 2.3.1 via Fastboot. I then did a backup of my ROM twice onto my External SD card. After that I did a a Factory Reset through TWRP of course and then installed the Unofficial CM10 with JB Bootloader. I still got the E:can not mount '/staging' but I went ahead and installed the Gapps that was listed on the thread as well and then wiped davlik cache and regular cache. Rebooted and I am VERY HAPPY to say it FINALLY worked this time!
I was ecstatic to see that CyanogenMod symbol come up. I made sure to wait 10 minutes to let the ROM settle before doing anything and it looks very nice!
I am confused as to why it worked the second time or even worked with the staging error as well when it didn't last time. Maybe because I didn't do the wipe Internal in TWRP? Who knows all I know is my Asus is working wonderfully and I am SO HAPPY to have it back! Thank you again everyone for all your help, I LOVE THIS FORUM! :good:

Good to hear.... not sure if your aware or not but with a decent backup ( I do one everytime I think I am going to try something foolish) even if you do a wipe, as long as you can reach twrp you can restore the prime to it's state before you started messing with it....
